How Nigel Francis uses the Star Wars universe to explain complicated topics like immunology We speak with Dr Nigel Francis, senior lecturer at Cardiff University, about his project, immunology wars, which is a series of videos and illustrations that describes the basic functions of the immune system through the Star Wars movies. Simon explains how he first came up with the idea to explain immunology in this way and shares how he worked directly with the students to develop the concept. By linking the cells of the immune system with the characters from Star Wars, Simon and his students have created a unique and creative way to help students remember these different cells and their roles in the immune response. As we head into the final quarter of 2022, the world's biggest entertainment franchises are going head to head. HBO struck first with Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, and then Amazon followed up with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. So it was only a matter of time before Disney got involved. Just as well for them then that they have one of the most lucrative licenses of all time at their disposal. From 21st September onwards, the latest series from a ‘Galaxy Far Far Away' will be released on the Disney+ streaming platform. That's right, we're talking about Star Wars: Andor. Let's face it, the huge Star Wars fanbase has been more than a little disappointed with the franchise's most recent episodes, but the dramatic Andor trailer has nevertheless captured their imagination. Lucasfilm had announced an Andor spin-off series as far back as 2018. How does the series fit into the Star Wars universe? So, will it live up to the hype? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions ! To listen to the latest episodes, click here: Why were the queen's bees told of her death? Do I have poor blood circulation? A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far Far Away… the Star Wars sequel everyone has been waiting for has finally arrived! It's the return of A2D Radio's Star Wars Special! We start off with an in-depth discussion of Obi-Wan Kenobi's first season. The series was full of memorable moments that the panel will surely want to give their thoughts on. Did the series live up to the expectations? Where does it rank in comparison to other Star Wars content on Disney+?Next, they'll pick up where they left off with the first Star Wars Special show and dive into the sequel trilogy. The whole trilogy isn't without its share of criticisms and praises, especially when it comes to Episodes 8 & 9. What did the trilogy get right? And more importantly, what did the trilogy get wrong? The panel will transition into a conversation of the future of Star Wars. There are a ton of highly-anticipated projects coming up within the next several years, from films, to shows, and even video games. Which ones are we excited for the most? What is on our wishlist of what we'd love to see Disney do with the franchise? Finally, the panel gives their “What ifs” when it comes to Star Wars. What would they have done differently? What do they wish was different? What do they wish they could completely erase from history?

Jodi and Philip discuss the series of nine short films from various Japanese animation studios who were tasked with telling a story set within the 'Star Wars' universe. Entrusted by Lucasfilm with broad creative freedom to explore some of the less-trodden territory of the Galaxy Far Far Away, these projects provide a diverse array of styles and scenarios, though they all deal in some way with the Force and conflicts involving Forceusers. These nine episodes provide a fascinating insight into the influence 'Star Wars' has had on Japanese artists and filmmakers 45 years after the release of the original 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope'; a film which in-turn was highly influenced by Eastern mysticism, the samurai ethos, and the films of Akira Kurosawa.
