Use of radio signals to remotely control a device, vehicle or drone
POPULARITY
In a surprising move, car manufacturers aim to remove AM radio from vehicles, a vital tool for rural communities. As Troy Miller of National Religious Broadcasters discusses, this is more than just outdated tech — it's a potential shift in control over information and free access to diverse viewpoints. Despite claims of interference with electric car batteries, a simple, inexpensive fix exists, raising questions about motives related to the predominance of conservative, Christian, and Spanish-language content on AM airwaves. Discover why preserving AM radio might be essential for maintaining liberty, security, and important communication, especially in emergencies.

This week Alex, Kenny and Nick sit down with Rotorflight power user Tomas Kirnak to discuss this extremely affordable FBL that utilizes open source community written software to power it. We cover the basics of how to get involved with the rotorflight community, what are the hardware options, which radios it's compatible with, how is the setup process, what's the learning curve like, how does it fly, what's tuning like, and who is it really aimed at. At 100 dollars per FBL and being able to purchase a radio that would allow complete integration and forward programming for only 250 dollars, it's a system you can buy 3 or 4 of for the price of some more expensive radio and fbl combos. Our hope is to help guide your purchasing decisions by explaining just what you would be getting yourselves into, and where to find help if you decide to take it on. Special thanks to everyone in the Rotorflight community who helped us with this episode. On top of all that we catch up with the crew (spoiler alert: there all back to flying again!), as well as cover the latest news in the hobby. We've got a special treat for you all this week. We've talked before about how much we love the stories behind the products. Greggor McGrath of Absolute CNC products has a unique story to tell. We'll hear how his first CNC machine bought of a craigslist ad turned into a sucessful hobby business, and how a conversation between nitro enthusiasts turned into designing one of the best pipes for nitro helicopters to come around in a long time. But even if you aren't a nitro fan you'll enjoy the story behind the development and how a small community of enthusiasts can come together to develop, test and bring to market a unique new product. We've also got plenty of news on the leadin to the now completed Rotor Live, and our usual updates. Speaking of Rotor Live... we have what we think will be a GREAT episode coming in a couple weeks with all of the updates on new equipment coming out of Rotor Live.Rotor Replay:https://youtu.be/WXOmTQFECK8?si=TRlMafvu0H6kkZC2Absolute CNC Productshttps://www.absolutecncproducts.comAs always... thanks for listening, for sharing, for reviewing our podcast, and helping us spread the word. From Ngāmotu 10 Nov 23 Single In stark contrast to her previous two singles, ‘Cellular' is a drumless track that sees Frau Knotz at the piano, shapeshifting between electronic experimentation and acoustic texture. With ex London-based producer Sam Johnson at Rhythm Ace Studio and mastering engineer Chris Chetland at Kog Studios, she has created a haunting production that solely uses piano and analog bass as a foundation to highlight her vocal performance with new purity and detail. Drawing inspiration from the basslines of Mick Karn from British 80s new wave band ‘Japan' and the eerie dystopia of the Blade Runner soundtrack, ‘Cellular' renders an evocative soundscape. Frau Knotz's prickly introspections divulge some of her most vulnerable lyrics to date. The second verse draws you in, almost literally with nothing but a whisper; “there's a world out there, it lies beneath my thumbs'' followed by a sudden pang of the piano with a grandiose declaration; “we are all icons on a plastic screen”. Lauren explains “After watching the Netflix documentary ‘The Social Dilemma', I advised my friends on social media that I was going to delete my accounts in 1 week and gave them my cell phone number and email address. Then I completely deleted my Facebook and Instagram for the next 18 months. This song was written during that 18 month hiatus over one Easter weekend; 4 uninterrupted days spent at the piano.” Previous singles ‘Supernova' (2022) and ‘Runway of Reality' (2023) have charted on the Radio Control 99.4FM Top 10, featured on Most FM's Making Tracks & been playlisted on several community radio stations, with videos premiered on Juice TV & MTV Upload and her second video hitting 1.2k views on YouTube. Her debut headline show during New Zealand Music Month this year drew a crowd of 100 people to The King's Theatre in Stratford, a tiny town 40 minutes from New Plymouth city. She has just returned from the Wellington Jazz Festival as a featured guest with the Other Futures Big Band.

The ongoing demand for gun confiscations, body armor bans, and night vision limits now includes calls for... handheld radio controls! Isaac dissects a recent Slate article lamenting the ability of far-right extremists to use handheld radios to communicate after they have been de-platformed from Twitter. Original Article: Far-Right Extremists Are Using Personal Radios to Plan Violence To be honest, this only barely scratches the surface of all the preposterous assumptions the article is built on, but hey, it's a start. We specifically ignored the technical errors with this journalism like all the pre-existing SIGINT capabilities that exist, the fact that all spectrum around DC is monitored and recorded by a host of three-letter agencies, the wide proliferation of SDRs, and more - just because that would be an endless list of infinite rabbit trails. Breakfast Buffet (Radio One 91FM x Radio Control) by Jamie Green on Radio One 91fm Dunedin
Founded in 1957 originally as the Winton Wingers, the Greater Cincinnati Radio Control Club, or GCRCC, has been a mainstay in the Cincinnati area for decades. Having spent time at 4 different flying sites over the years, the GCRCC and its nearly 200 members have been at its current site since 1999. Not only do they maintain a paved runway, but you'll also find a paved pylon racing takeoff pad, separate grass runway, a grass control line circle, a designated area for FPV, and even a playground for the kids. The GCRCC is famous for their Flying Circus Model Air Show, which features more than 200 models in 30 planned out events that demonstrate all aspects of aeromodeling; with a focus on historical aviation events. Their annual Kids Fly event benefits Spina Bifida of Cincinnati where they not only donate up to $10,000 per year to the charity, but also gives kids suffering from Spina Bifida a chance to fly an RC plane of their own. They spend time to teaching new pilots the ropes by dedicating Monday and Wednesday evenings to their new pilot instruction program; ensuring new pilots learn the ropes from their experienced membership. *** This show was all about words, terms, changes in meaning, and using words to define concepts, and ultimately change the national debate. That's what the opening was all about. Hugh, a caller from Virginia alternated from hold to live, who had a lot of his own websites to share, and knows everyone, so I challenged him to talk to the President about Action Radio. Wendy Arthur's Art Report again highlighted Jubillee Havens, and their upcoming auction to benefit survivors of sex trafficing. Check their site on our Facebook - Action Radio with Greg Penglis, page. Michael Volpe's report today included stories from Al Dia, a Latino American media source, about how to solve the backlog of immigration hearings clogging up the system. His report based on several immigration hearings in Congress. My fun in the second hour was going over an article on The Ingellectual Conservative on old and new versions of terms like racism, hate, and more. I had a blast reading my own article from 2016 called, "My Conservative Glossary," where I detail a bunch of new terms, many of which I use in my common language. It's also on The Intellectual Conservative and our Action Radio Facebook page. Just please, get a hold of yourself! I am by no means a pariah when it comes to nutrition but I will give myself some credit when it comes to eating during the holidays. Hopefully this motivates your to get some self control or just guilt you into staying on top of your shit during the holiday season.

An amphibian RPA, India bans drones, open source code for drones, area terrain mapping, DARPA's ship-based MALE UAV concept, a new UAV market study, and more on logbooks for drone pilots. News The Flyox Amphib UAV enters market Singular Aircraft has released the Flyox I, an amphibian RPA (Remotely Piloted Aircraft) that can take off and land on water, as well as on unpaved runways and snow. Flyox I is a high wing aircraft with a 14 meter wingspan, a 2000 kg payload, and is powered by two 340 HP engines. It can automatically take-off and land, and can be programed with preset flight paths. Envisioned applications include agriculture, firefighting, goods transport, surveillance, and rescue. India bans civilian drones in the country till it revises existing policies The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has prohibited the use of civilian drones in India. The DGCA says, “Due to lack of regulation, operating procedures/standards, and uncertainty of the technology, UAS poses threat for air collisions and accidents.” Serbia and Albania game abandoned after drone invasion sparks brawl Serbia's European Championship football (soccer) qualifying match with Albania was stopped after a fight between the players broke out. When a DJI Phantom flew over the field carrying a "Greater Albania" flag, a Serbian player pulled it down, and that sparked the brawl. Industry Coalition Wants Open Source Code for Drones The Dronecode Project has been established as a Linux Foundation Collaborative Project to foster a common, shared open source platform for UAVs. The Project includes the APM/ArduPilot UAV software platform and associated code, currently hosted by 3D Robotics. Founding members include 3D Robotics, Baidu, Box, DroneDeploy, Intel, jDrones, Laser Navigation, Qualcomm Technologies, SkyWard, Squadrone System, Walkera and Yuneec. More than 1,200 developers are working on Dronecode. Press Release: Linux Foundation and Leading Technology Companies Launch Open Source Dronecode Project Drone approved to map area terrain Wright State Research Institute (WSRI) will partner with 3D Aerial Solutions to fly an eBee drone to map terrain at the Wilmington Air Park. The photogrammetry flights will produce a series of two-dimensional photographs that together create a 3D image. The Ohio/Indiana UAS Test Site will then use the data to virtually fly UAVs. The eBee is a hand-launched flying wing type aircraft with a single pusher engine. It has a 38” wingspan, a 50 minute flight time, and a radio range of just under 2 miles. Wright State also has asked the FAA for permission to fly a UAV above the National Center for Medical Readiness. A decision is pending. DARPA advances ship-based MALE UAV concept DARPA (the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) has awarded AeroVironment a $19 million preliminary design contract to demonstrate launch and recovery of a medium-sized UAV from a small vessel. According to DARPA, the tactically exploited reconnaissance node (TERN, now retitled Tern) program, “envisions using smaller ships as mobile launch and recovery sites for medium-altitude long-endurance [MALE] unmanned aircraft. Ideally, Tern would enable on-demand, ship-based unmanned aircraft system operations without extensive, time-consuming and irreversible ship modifications.” “Subscale flight demonstrations” are expected over the next 12 months. 2014 UAV Market Research Study assesses size, growth of total UAV market The "2014 UAV Market Research Study" from IGI Consulting estimates that the US market will grow from $5 billion in 2013 to $15 billion in 2020. The study looks at the total UAV market, ranging from large military UAVs to small amateur UAVs. It considers DOD, Civil, Commercial, sUAS, DIY Amateur, and Radio Control aircraft. Growth will be driven by the commercial and Do-it-Yourself markets, with major commercial applications being: agriculture, real estate, filmmaking, oil and pipeline,

?Jody Whitesides was born In New York city to two very proud parents. Jody's mother, Mary Whitesides is an accomplished interior decorator, and his father Kim Whitesides a commercial illustrator. Both knew at a very early age that their son Jody had something very special about him. By the time Jody was nine his parents had had enough of the day-to-day grind of New York City, so they picked up and moved to a much quieter place, Park City, Utah. It would be in Park City where young Jody would begin his journey into the wonderful world of exploring curiosities and possibilities. Jody began playing little league baseball, soon to be followed by a deep love for racing Radio Control cars. By the time Jody was 17 he won the number one driver of the year in the Stock Car Class. Jody also found he had a special talent and skill for freestyle skiing; Jody was at one point ranked in the top twenty nationally. By the time Jody was twenty he had learned how to play lead guitar, so he enrolled for a semester in the prestigious Berklee College of music in Boston, Massachusetts. When a friend called Jody and told him his chances of making it would be better in Hollywood, Jody then enrolled in the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California. Jody has now turned into an accomplished songwriter as well as an exciting stage performer and lead vocalist.
