Hast du gewusst, dass in Österreich pro Tag etwa 100 Hubschraubereinsätze geflogen werden – 12 davon direkt im alpinen Gelände?

Wir waren zu dritt auf einer Bergtour in den österreichischen Alpen. Da stürzte unser Freund ab. Wir liefen, so schnell wir konnten, zur nächsten Berghütte, um Hilfe zu holen. Die Bergwacht schickte einen Helikopter. Bald hörten wir die Motorengeräusche. Mein Begleiter sagte: »Wenn wir nur den wegfliegenden Heli sehen, ist unser Freund drin und lebt. Wenn er draußen dranhängt, ist er tot.« Wir sahen den Heli mit einer Trage am Seil wegfliegen. Unser Freund wurde in einer Kapelle aufgebahrt. Wir mussten unseren Freund identifizieren. Anschließend fuhren wir nach Hause, um diese schreckliche Nachricht seiner Familie zu überbringen.Drei Jahre später sind wir wieder dorthin, um eine Gedenktafel anzubringen. Wir hatten uns eine HILTI mit Akku besorgt. Ich hatte solchen Bammel, wieder an die Absturzstelle zu kommen. Ich dachte an meine Frau und unsere vier kleinen Kinder. Diesmal war jedoch ein Bergführer dabei. Der bemerkte sofort meine Unsicherheit. Wie das so ist im Hochgebirge. Da geht es rechts und links runter. Du musst nur einmal fehltreten – und schon schmierst du ab. Der Bergführer fragte mich, ob er mich an den Karabinerhaken nehmen solle. Und in dem Moment, als es »klick« machte, wusste ich: Wenn jetzt etwas passiert, bin ich abgesichert!Ich weiß nicht, ob es bei Ihnen im Leben schon »klick« gemacht hat. Ich war mein halbes Leben ohne Bergführer, ohne Jesus, unterwegs. Wäre ich da abgestürzt, wäre ich ungesichert abgeschmiert – todsicher in der Hölle gelandet. Erst als ich mich an Jesus festgemacht habe, hat es »klick« gemacht. Seitdem habe ich Sicherheit über den Tod hinaus. Ich kann danebentreten, aber ich werde gehalten. Kevin Quinn, the founder of Points North Heli and a true Alaska pioneer, has done more rad stuff than almost anyone I've had on the podcast. Christmas season is here! While many people will be celebrating all over the world, there is a sad disconnect between the holiday and the Savior we celebrate on it. Who is Jesus really? They display everyone’s favorite part of any “Bible in a year” reading plan… Genealogies! Matthew records from Abraham to Jesus on Mary’s side, and Luke comes from Joseph’s side all the way to Adam. One gives Jesus legal credibility to the Jews, and one gives connection to all of humanity as we could all be traced back to the very first man, Adam. These lists of people contain som interesting characters and ultimately point us to God’s redemptive power and providence to be able to use whoever He desires to accomplish His perfect will.
