Radical Thinking: How to See the Bigger Picture (Swift Press, 2024) is a book about how you view the world. It's about the things that shape your thoughts, from what you notice and how you interpret it, to what you assume, believe and want. It's also about how, if you think in a radical way, you can look beyond your limited view of the world to see the bigger picture. This isn't one of those books that points out why you get things wrong, or offers you a set of rules to get it 'right'. Instead, Peter Lamont (a former magician, now Professor of History and Theory of Psychology at the University of Edinburgh) takes us on a curious tour. As he looks at the things around him, he reveals how we look at everything. He discovers – in nearby streets and buildings, and quirky local history (about Sherlock Holmes, the birth of Encyclopaedia Britannica, and the original self-help book) – the things that shape how we view the world. He shows how, from a local point of view, we create a worldview. No wonder that we disagree. However, if you're curious, then you can see the bigger picture. And, in a world of urgent noise and competing truths, you can make sense of anything. REDBLACKS DB Deandre Lamont speaks to the media after day one of practice
In this powerful message, we explore how to respond when God says "no" to our plans and prayers. Through Paul's missionary journey in Acts 16, we learn that God's redirections, though sometimes disappointing, are actually divine guidance toward His better plan. The sermon examines how Paul and Timothy's experience, along with examples from King David and Jesus, teach us valuable lessons about trusting God's wisdom when He closes doors. We discover that God says "no" because He loves us, has a greater perspective, and always has better plans in store. This message offers practical steps for responding to God's "no" with faith and perseverance, reminding us that sometimes God's greatest works come through His redirections. Musician Lamont Landers first got on Bobby's radar because his face doesn't match his soulful voice. Lamont performs 3 songs in studio and does not disappoint. He went from playing his guitar in his Alabama bedroom to playing the stages of America's Got Talent and Showtime At The Apollo. On AGT, he says that Simon Cowell appeared to interrupt him but it was just a pause for editing purposes. Bobby tells a story about having to do stand-up comedy at a college cafeteria because Lamont once had to play songs at a grocery store. Jay believes that Bob was actually raised in a wealthy household and his tough upbringing is just a ruse. The great Mike Vecchione has a new special on YouTube called "Low Income White" Go to @lamontlandersofficial for all his tour dates and info *To hear the full show to go www.siriusxm.com/bonfire to learn more FOLLOW THE CREW ON SOCIAL MEDIA: @thebonfiresxm @louisjohnson @christinemevans @bigjayoakerson @robertkellylive @louwitzkee @jjbwolfSubscribe to SiriusXM Podcasts+ to listen to new episodes of The Bonfire ad-free and a whole week early.
