Today’s Topic: Montenegro Kim and I are currently in Montenegro. If you don’t know where Montenegro is, it was part of the former Yugoslavia and is south of Croatia, Russia and Bosnia. I was nervous about coming to Montenegro and at first it was a total shock to the system. First I got into a little trouble at the border for Instagramming photos of the police. Then we drove around without any phone signal trying to find our Airbnb only to discover it was at the top of a very steep hill. 155 steps, one broken flip-flop and many misadventures with luggage later, I got up to the Airbnb to realize it came with a cat. I’m so allergic to cats I get hives on the palm of my hands. Then there were the bugs, the flies and the mosquitoes. I woke up the next morning with my eyes swollen shut from the cat allergy and suffering the shits because of the dinner we’d had the night before.  At this point I was pretty annoyed. Then Kim revealed that when she’d said we were staying for “like, 14 days”, she really meant 18. You know what, though? I went to do my morning routine and came back a lot happier. Kim booked us this Airbnb because she knew we needed time away from everything to rest and reset. So we’re looking out at the mountains, our Airbnb has a rooftop yoga studio, we got some medication for my allergies and I’ve been hanging out with the cat. Kim and I have been using this time to focus and work on our goals. Instead of sitting in a coffee shop somewhere or sitting home and executing a to do list, I'm dreaming and visualizing because my state of mind is completely different here.  My takeaways from this experience are: The brain learns from mistakes and surprises. We become inspired by putting ourselves in environments that cause us to grow.  I have a tendency to go, go, go and to achieve, achieve, achieve. And sometimes in doing that, you don't take the time to be thoughtful about your life, to be thoughtful about the why behind what you're doing. And you certainly don't take the time to execute on those ideas that you're trying to create.  Resources: Mastermind: workhardplayhardpodcast.com/mastermind Connect with us on Instagram: @kimmurgatroyd | @robmurgatroyd

Your Creative Sparks: We come into each lifetime with a SACRED CONTRACT, what your soul agreed to learn. How SUFFERING causes pieces of our SOUL to leave, and how we can BRING THEM BACK. The THREE WORLDS: Why you would GO THERE and what kind of work you would do there? A lot of HEALERS want to do light work, but our PROBLEMS are not in the light. We are sitting in the jungle of Bali in the midst of pilgrimage with Lobsterbird and Shaman Goddess, Kim Woodcock, attended by the songs of Cricket and Cicada. It’s been a year of transformation for this modern shaman, and she takes us back into the trenches to reveal the ancient secrets behind her incredible healing journey - a journey that is available to everyone. Travel with us through the three worlds to discover how you can learn the hidden language of the stone people, the four leggeds, and the stars. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue How Kim’s chronic illness led her “into the cave” where she found the shamanic path offered the radical healing she needed to get herself out of bed and back into life. [5:06] The one thing she wanted to do most was travel again, even if it was virtual. Then Kim met Sophia’s and joined her first virtual pilgrimage. That led to sacred site healings, and she started to feel better. Since then, she has traveled with the League of Heroes to Tulum, the UK, and now Bali, in 2018 alone. [8:29] A life or death decision: How the Temazcal sweat lodge ceremony in Tulum challenged both the teacher and the student. [14:35] After 20 years of shamanic training, it was Kim’s personal healing that finally gave her the courage to step up and lead others on their own healing journey. [22:02] Bringing in the higher consciousness into shamanic practice and merging the new awareness with the old ways. [25:42] Bringing shamanism to the western world: The tale of Michael Harner, an anthropologist who studied the headshrinkers and was invited to do a vision quest with them. [29:10] Rhythm is an important part of the shamanic journey because it transports us. Drumming gets us into that theta trance space without the use of illicit drugs. [31:07] The three worlds: Why you would go there and what kind of work you would do there? [36:39] You can sit with the rock people and listen to their stories. Same with the stars and the animals. They all have something unique to teach you. The Earth NEEDS more people who can connect with the Nature Spirits again. [40:33] The shamanic path and soul retrieval: “I don’t think people understand what WHOLE means.” [50:16] Kim’s new apprenticeship program begins in January. In it, she teaches how to connect with the ancestors of the land, how to work with the medicine wheel, symbolism and animal communication, and the survival archetypes of energy. [55:55] Pilgrimage + Shamanism = the fastest path to transformation. [1:01:45] Links and resources: ARE YOU…? kimwoodcock.com/soul-deep-shamanism Ready to awaken the inner shaman? It was so clean and elegant and had great architecture, museums and food. Anaheim, California - Kim chose this city in California. Until recently she has always thought of Anaheim as Disneyland. This year she explored the downtown area and experienced its very southern California feel. Favorite city hotels: Avenue of the Arts - Kim stayed at this hotel in Costa Mesa, California. This hotel sits right across the Segerstrom Center that is the big performing arts center in Costa Mesa. The decor of the hotel room had a very modern feel and had a cute restaurant on site that had great lighting and seating for breakfast. Palais Hansen Kempinski - This hotel Tamara stayed at was in Vienna, Austria. Her family had a fabulous experience. Staying at this hotel was the full 5 star service, where they were greeted by name when entering and leaving. The employees were also so helpful with any information that was needed. The breakfast buffet was widespread and the nicest experience. Favorite beach hotels: Disney Aulani - Was Kim’s favorite beach hotel mostly in part due to the the location of the hotel and the surrounding beaches. Eden Roc Cap Cana - Tamara’s favorite hotel was one that she stayed at with her husband in the Dominican Republic. This was a great quiet getaway that can only be described as heaven. Favorite outside the city hotels: Basin Harbor Club Hotel - Is a hotel next to Lake Champlain in Vermont. This hotel is perfect for big family vacations, with different cabins along the lake. Mar Vista Cottages at Anchor Bay - This location is set off of the coast Highway 1 and is in Northern California. The Cottages are owned by a sweet couple that keeps them well kept and clean. They have live chickens so if you set out a basket by around 5pm, they would collect eggs for you to have in the morning as well as a garden with fresh herbs. Favorite history tours: The Jewish history tour Tamara and her family took in Budapest was her favorite tour experience starting with their great tour guide that shared some personal stories and it was an emotional journey. Kim loved her experience at the Cannery Row in Monterey, California, where she learned about the bridges that go over the road that used to be used for sending fish into the warehouses for canning. Favorite food tours: Walk Eat Nashville -  Was Tamara’s favorite food tour this year out of the five that she has been on. The tour had a great variety. Theo Chocolate - Was Kim’s favorite food tour this year that is in Seattle, WA. This tour teaches you the history of Theo chocolate and the story behind it. Favorite meal: Kim’s favorite meal was at The C Restaurant and Bar which is located on Cannery Row in Monterey, CA. The whole experience from the service to the food quality and the view were fantastic. Tamara’s favorite meal was at The Bazaar by Jose Andres which is located by South Beach Miami, Florida. This was one of the best food experience she has had and it was very inventive and tasted fabulous. Favorite outdoor adventures: Tamara’s family loved the experience they had hiking in Copper Mountain in Colorado. Kim’s favorite trip was the Oars Adventure she took for a camping and water rafting experience. Out of the ordinary experiences: Kim loved the experiences she had at the Disney Aulani KA WA’A luau. Though this was very Disney, it still had the history and tradition that was a fun little experience. Tamara loved the experience of the Peabody Memphis Hotel where her daughter Hannah got to be the Honorary Duck Master. This hotel has ducks that live on the roof that every morning are led down the elevator and to the fountain where they stay during the day, and then at night they are led back up to the roof. Theme park experience: The Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. This was the best ride that Tamara and her family have been on. It was worth the wait in line. Kim likes that Disneyland is starting a Max pass system instead of just Fast Pass. Favorite mother-daughter trips: Tamara and Hannah loved their civil rights road trip they took this year. Kim and Lizzy loved their Southern California trip where Lizzy got to experience some surf lessons. Then Kim and Amelia loved their trip to Estes Park Colorado where they got to explore the Rocky Mountain National Park there.
