Sumi Dishes on Korean Food and Being Satisfied on Long Beach Island

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 11, 2019 68:21

Today’s episode is going to be a little unconventional, kind of like our Lobsterbird. We are going to be getting a bit quantum in this episode with her mother, Sumi, who is also a known food psychic. Modern Magic has brought Sophia back to her childhood home on Long Beach Island, where Sumi shakes a ham at her and answers deep questions about banchan (Korean tiny side dishes), fortune, and how our quality of life might be tied to the quality of tradition and culinary provision from the land. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Creative Sparks: KOREAN FOOD is very tied to the LAND and to the SEASONS.  GOOD FOOD is highly symbolic of a GOOD LIFE. “I can’t BELIEVE in God if I can’t EAT.” UNRAVELING can lead to the GREATEST ADVENTURE of our lives. Your Travelogue My first crazy unraveling brought me back to Long Beach Island on my very first accidental retreat. I got down on my hands and knees in the sand and snow, and I prayed to that ocean - and all kinds of magical things started to happen. [4:19] The upcoming Modern Magic documentary: If Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown had a baby with the film Baraka, who also somehow through this weird polyamorous relationship also had this baby with the Dark Crystal and also Queer Eye More than a Makeover. [9:56] What’s up with the many, many little side dishes with lots of different things in them? Do they mean something? [11:59] Scientists came together in 2015 to study Korea’s unique food culture, which is connected to its long agricultural history, which was intimately connected to the seasons and the rhythms of the earth. [21:42] Good food makes people feel abundant and satisfied. It is enjoyable and makes us feel like we have a good life. [30:02] When the quality of food goes down and the quality of tradition goes down, does the quality of human life go down? [33:47] We expect our whole lives to be satisfying. Whether we have good food or nothing to eat, we can accept what is and be satisfied. [37:09] Going to God’s house meant special food on Sunday. [40:59] What do you think is more important, eating food or believing in God? [47:26] When people come together and eat, is that a spiritual experience? [51:18] This ends Phase One of the Bridge to Being. Why we're ending, for how long, and how we can still be together. The Trauma of False Reality

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 12, 2019 75:19

What happens when your worst childhood nightmare becomes a reality? Can you see through the illusion, the reality of what is real/not real? On the heels of three weekends of epiphanies and enlightenment, amid Colorado mountain beauty and koi pond and pumpkin patch, that is exactly what happened. Fly away with Lobsterbird as she shares her experience in a tender place, an *inverse conscious unconscious creation* in which her worst nightmare serves to heal her worst nightmare. Your Creative Sparks: TIME and SPACE are not as they seem. In fact, they are not even REAL. There is a BELL CURVE to HEALING, where CRISIS often precedes FREEDOM. When you HEAL, you have to bring up SHADOW. You have to understand the PAIN. We can’t SPIRITUALIZE our way out of FEELING what needs to be CLEARED. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue My hope is that what I'm about to share with you helps us look at traumatic things in a whole new way. [2:17] Thank you Dragonfly! I have been liberated from a set of shackles or chains that I *maybe* sensed were around me, but I didn't think they were, you know, that big a deal. [9:24] “It’s a tricky weave we web here.” Do we cut through the illusion, or do we avoid it? Hashtag paradox alert! [11:11] Okay, so it’s September. I am integrating and trying to do nothing. Except...  [17:51] Be careful when you make deals with Spirit. They will make a deal back, and they will up the ante. [22:14] Tibetan yoga and lucid dreaming - my obsession and frustration and another synchronicity leads me further down the rabbit hole. [28:12] I'm feeling even more connected to the quantum field with every step I take, knowing that the ground is not real and neither are my feet. Then this unreal ground gets pulled out from under me. [31:52] I go outside and I'm walking around to the pumpkin patch and I'm like, Whoa, wait a second. My truck... [38:39] Someone has been in the house. Nothing obvious and valuable has been stolen, but precious, personal mementos are missing… as is my orange bikini. [43:22] If you want to debate how your thoughts create your reality, go right ahead, but I know that when I was little, I had this recurring nightmare where I was in this very house that I'm looking at right now from the sacred portal spot. [49:06] Let's just say there was something that was rising up in me. [53:57] It wasn't like I was like, Ooh, I'm just going to spiritualize this. And like, everything's energy and it's all fine. All of this stuff was coming up, and I was feeling it deeply, and then it moved through me, and I just kept clearing it. [1:00:24] I was like Frodo with the ring in the fires of Mordor. I was a hunter to my own fear. [1:03:23] I feel better than ever. I feel more confident than ever, especially that I can handle whatever comes my way. Like my new pilgrimage to India! You can join me, If you want to, you know, be able to face whatever circumstances come to you and allow them to be things that help you awaken and self actualize and heal. Ticks: Lobsterbird Solo on Sacred Ground

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 13, 2019 78:12

In her first solo walk with us in months, Lobsterbird travels along a magical path lined with multi-colored mushrooms, catching us up on her adventures through the many realms of spirituality, entrepreneurship, pilgrimage, the quantum field and more. Join us on the border of the forest of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, where the New Jersey Devil is in fact said to live, as Lobsterbird faces parasitic hunters in order to return home with the healing elixir she discovered along her hero's journey. Leave us a Rating & Review!   Your Creative Sparks: COLLABORATE with FEAR. Think of it as a fun art project. We are going through a real DEATH PERIOD right now, in which we will be REBIRTHED. We are being asked to RAMP IT UP in our ability to deal with LETTING GO, SURRENDER AND FAITH. POLARITY is like a FALSE MATRIX of thinking. Your Travelogue It was about a year ago that I had a dark night of the soul that lasted like an entire year. Like it's just finished. There are many times throughout the course of the past year where I actually thought it was over, and then it just kept going. [1:49] This is the magic spot, and when I was little, it was in this spot that I knew that I was crossing over the threshold into another realm, much like the bridge to Terabithia. [5:42] Ticks. People are super scared of them because apparently they're hunters. [7:56] I came home to birth some kind of energy baby. [9:19] “I'm walking through the spiderwebs, leave a message and I'll call you back.” The way to collaborate with fear and make it an artistic project is to allow it to be there and make really creative choices with it. [15:55] We are in this time right now where people are really being asked to step up and express their truth.  [25:31] I am going to expose my own darkness and that's what this past year has been about. [30:04] A thirty second walking meditation for crossing out of the weird donut hole. [41:49] When the Buddhists were talking about duality and seeing through the illusion, I thought I knew what that meant. But the multiverse had to create this amazing obstacle course to really teach me what the Buddhists meant by duality. [43:45] We are here, on the path in the woods to liberation. [46:54] Because of our conscious awareness, we have an equal role in helping to sustain the planet, much as the planet does. What do you have to say to that, magic forest? [52:43] There's a different way to do this y'all, and that's what we have to get to. And we'll only get there if we are investigating really deeply what our own energies are that are running under the surface. And then we must learn how to clear it and how to transmute it and how to turn it into something which then does give us power. [57:03] I am convinced that we need new leaders to emerge in this world right now. [59:57] It is possible to be in a state of beingness. And it actually doesn't matter if you're walking through a magical forest of your childhood or you're walking around on the streets in New York City amongst all the chaos. [1:02:52] IRL Pilgrimages: Let's get enlightened. Purify our Karma. Heal our hearts and save some lives and build some elephant enclosures. It's going to be epic. Lobsterbird returns to us from the rolling land, a myriad of greens and wildflowers, so many fields that just ARE. They aren't getting mowed, and they are perfectly perfect anyway. The animals are keeping them. Grasses are growing where they need to grow. The flowers are reaching up. With Julie Pierce, we reflect on our truth and being-ness - one can only behold that which is within. When we look through this mirror with radical acceptance and love, we enter a portal that beams with our radiant heart. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Creative Sparks: The origin of the YOUME TREE. I see you, and therefore I can see me. Can you STAND in front of the MIRROR and LIST TEN features that YOU LOVE? Sometimes we have to BE CURIOUS TOGETHER and see what we find. Your Travelogue Spirals everywhere! And what do spirals do to your energy? Enhance it. Double it over. Amplification, Clarification, Purification, Ascension... Multitude vortexes in this land: in the stone circles, in the cairns, in the faery realms, in the structure of the caves. [4:19] The outer is a reflection of the inner, and the inner is a reflection of the outer. I don't want to call it a mirror, because it is so much more than that. A mirror is flat and hard and reflective. This is reflective, but this is *through* - like Alice and the looking glass - it's not a bounce back, it's a place of entry. It's a place of access. A portal. [7:21] Furry Scottish Lads? Don’t take ourselves so seriously, and ride the pendulum!  [10:45] Isn't it nice to experience love? Why is there anything else? [15:40] Open the heart to the thing we find disdainful. Compassion becomes part of our energetic signature. [18:14] We are totally into connecting! Connecting with people. Connecting with the earth. Connecting with animals. Connecting with trees. Connecting through social media. How do we keep from becoming overwhelmed by being so connected? [22:44] The first place of being able to manage that interconnection is within yourself, you to you. [25:51] Julie went to Egypt with her parents when she was nine. Isis was on the ceiling inside a pyramid. BOOM! Julie experienced a full body, deep cellular, vibratory connection. Not knowing what this was, she did not tell anybody what was happening to her. [33:09] It's a wonderful classroom, being a Mom. As a mother, my challenge is to NOT merge on my son, but to allow him to individuate. My exercise with him on that is the further individuation of myself. [38:38] This is where faith comes in: I show up. I make my best effort with my intention. And I am held in the container of the natural unfolding. [42:20] How our truth evolves and how we maintain our truth. [47:07] It takes courage to be with the stuff that feels horrible. Courage = it's not going to feel good. It's not better because you are brave. It's still horrible. The courage is just the part of you that you draw on to stay present. [53:53] Julie does love frequency readings. We crave love as an experience. Sometimes we can't know what to do next if we aren't clear on where we truly are right now. What is the theme of your present moment, which is a consequence of past choices, and where are you going? Good material to feel clear about your next step, and the choices that will lead to it. [55:05] IRL Pilgrimages: Take the leap. Step into your power. Speak your truth. Help awaken the world. We're building businesses, we're healing our lives on almost unbelievable levels - except it's all true because Magic is Real. [1:03:06] Links and resources: Where are you right now on the spectrum of Love Energy? Knowing this offers perspective and helps you understand how your experience fluctuates on the spectrum. Balanc-ing, Spiraling Up & Gyrokinesis with Maryanne Chaney in Ireland

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 21, 2019 52:35

Your Creative Sparks: Being SOULFUL is DIRTY. Soul work is dirty. It is not sterilized, sanitized spirituality. POOP: It’s about FERTILITY. It’s also about CONTROL. EVERYTHING is SACRED. POWER is NOT necessarily LOFTY. Mystery is present in the lush, fertile spirals of Ireland. Soulful conversation flows between Lobsterbird and Maryanne Chaney as they sit upon thousands of blades of grass and are licked in the face by furry creatures. Above is a gorgeous sky of blue filled with fluffy, cotton clouds. And below? Who knows? Could be worms… bugs… poop? What does poop have to do with a state of grace, balanc-ing and spiraling up? Only everything. And how much are you willing to let go to find out? Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue We are always seeking balance. But with grace, it's unseeable. It's that dance that happens in Nature, that tries to find balance. [3:46] Maryanne’s ancestors were from Ireland, and she has visited many times. But this time was radically different... [6:20] Allowing for mystery…  [11:11] It's so important for us these days to be out in Nature. We are affected so much by this constant vibration and wireless technology pulsing through us. And we take it like that's okay. But I'm really not sure it's that great for our nervous system. In fact, I know it isn't. When we get into Nature, we can go into a natural biorhythm. We can connect to the earth and then connect into our bodies, and we can become "natural" human beings, more efficient and more attuned human beings, able to care for each other and care for the earth. [12:51] You are corralled in a city. Controlled. There is a sterilization taking place. Sterilization is the opposite of poop - which is fertile. [16:06] Cue Poop! It’s a new theatre production! lol Poop enters, stage left... [20:22] It’s all a production, isn’t it? ;) As a performer, what is the most graceful way to embody this performance called Life? With all of its challenges and all of its pressure... and poop? [21:21] Here lies the human condition, of always trying to attain balance. But it's like trying to attain perfection. Balance doesn’t exist. There is always this wavering. There is always flux. [23:53] Instead of seeking balance, how about balanc-ing? Then it becomes a VERB, and it becomes this... The act of balancing vs finding a state. [46:44] Mother always farted loudly and expressively - FOL! Sophi became the opposite. But holding it in created super stink. And this became a metaphor… [29:00] Everything is sacred. If we can appreciate that... that IS a power. That is that balanc-ing of power. [33:23] Spiraling Up - feeling energy shift and change and open every day through gyrokinesis. [39:39] 40 Days to Spiral Up! What will happen if you do this for forty days? Well, let's get scientific and test a hypothesis… [45:15] Links and resources: 40 Days to Spiral Up is an online practice that includes meditation, breathwork and movement to inspire and instill a daily energetic habit in the body. Using the Gyrokinesis method, Kundalini breathing techniques, and other movement modalities, it brings flow and balance to the body with clearer mental awareness and a lightness of spirit. The Art of Yoni Dancing with Lyoni Fisher in Bali

Your Creative Sparks: LIFE and DANCE are the same thing. WALK in the world as the GODDESS SEXPOT you are, if that is what you want. To be FEARLESSLY, uniquely oneself is to give the world a GIFT. Today we are transmitting from the beautiful, sensual land of Bali in Indonesia, introducing *Yoni Dancer* fresh from the Bali Pilgrimage. Lyoni experienced the “arc of healing” which represented lifetime of healing in only ten days. The crucible of pilgrimage allowed her to discover she could be her authentic self, in all her unique glory, and still be accepted, embraced and loved. She also discovered a new language of energy, one that is felt in the body and personified in the dance. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue Everyone has their own unique way of understanding and interacting with energy. [4:44] What happened when Lyoni hiked up her skirt in the temple... [8:21] Lyoni’s primary access point to energy is clairsentience - the feeling capacity. As a dance teacher, she works intimately with the body, and working with the body is a gateway to working with much more than that. [14:03] When you see that woman walking down the street, and you can see that special *something* about her, and you think, "I wish I had that"... [19:05] I've noticed that when I don't feel good, running away isn't the solution. [22:11] You access the power of the mind through the body. The body actually feels first. Then the mind tries to figure out what the body's feeling - and can sometimes miscommunicate and think it's feeling one thing and it isn't. [25:40] The bell curve of healing: Sometimes that pain accentuates, and normally we freak out and want to run away from it. But we can stick with it, so it can clear. [29:33] For the women who want to get their sexy back - It's letting go of any self judgement that makes you look so sexy. To be naked just as you are, in your comfort and purity, is so sexy, so regal. [35:10] Integration happens in the body, not just in the mind. Your Creative Sparks: We are ONE WITH NATURE. It is only our ego that makes us feel insignificant. Being in Nature feels like a REAL LIFE FANTASY. We know the TRUTH of existence as CHILDREN, that fantasy is a real world. Alyse did guided Faerie tours in the forest at the age of ten, and she has refused to allow society to culture the fantasy out of her. A visionary painter, much of her work is based in Nature, with a lot of hidden details and imaginative symbolism. On the tail of the Bali pilgrimage, Lobsterbird shares reflections with Alyse on the science of magic, our interconnectedness, the art of flow, and creating space for enchantment. Join us at the campfire, gazing up at the stars and upon the shores of the sacred lake. Leave us a Rating & Review!   Your Travelogue Completing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, a 26 mile trek on ancient cobblestone steps, and getting to know Mom all over again on the trail. [2:22] Being in Nature... What is so terrifying and powerful about it? [6:13] She didn’t appreciate all of Dad’s camping as a kid. Later, she lived in a cabin in the woods in Georgia, surrounded by five acres of wild forest. Only then did Alyse realize how much she loved being in Nature. [11:25] The Georgia forest: ferns and faeries. [13:29] If the portal opens, I have the right shoes. I’m not going to be that girl wearing heels in fairyland. [15:50] Flow is being in the quantum field. Source is the soul of creativity. [18:45] PRACTICUM!: Alyse’s warm-up practice for creative flow. The way Nature weaves in and out of itself and supports itself is really magical. Science for Alyse is all about biology and the interconnectedness of all things. [24:15] We don’t leave enough space for really deep wonder. [27:35] Creativity brings people together. The act of creating together frees us from judging ourselves. [32:50] Crafting Confidence: kids making art projects, things that have an intention behind them + a gentle exploration of identity. [36:16] Being bullied and finding friends who were being their own sort of weird. [39:54] Twenty years is a long time to develop the habit of not loving yourself. [43:33] Alyse is guiding people to meet their own faery queen, connect to their own true spirit and their own magical beingness - a guide in this world and the other world. Your Creative Sparks: The JOURNEY to CREATE a sustainable life doing the things you LOVE I take a BREATH and BUILD another HOME inside my HEART This MERIT is dedicated to “all the scientists and artists who bring the tremendous delight and pleasure to the world and others by their creativity and expressing their creativity. So as anyone who is actually being of benefit to others and brings the joy and comfort and delight for them to have longevity and prosper in their lives.” This hero’s global journey leads her Home. But where is Home? Home is a place where we build our world with our breath, letting the walls be an air of spaciousness and freedom for all beings, including animal beings, plant beings and human beings. We can be at home amid the symphony of crickets, cicada and geckos, under the pitter patter of rain on a thatched roof. “I can find Home where I am - Where the Heart is. I now finish this story to release it and let it go, because there is a new story to be told.” Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue After the lobster release in Maine, it was as if my heart had exploded open and all the unbound particles of my being were dancing off somewhere without me.  [4:58] The art islands of Naoshima (直島), Teshima (豊島), and Inujima (犬島) arise from utter ruin.  [7:03] The call to live simply resounded throughout my soul and the YURT became a symbol of possibility. [9:00] Freedom can happen swiftly. [10:38] Nature as Mother [14:11] like a lobster being released to begin its trek home, i opened my arms and dove right in. Your Creative Sparks: But the HUNTER was also the HUNTED LIFE RELEASE is really RESPONDING to that CALL of another being in DANGER and being able to do something about it ALL THINGS FEEL As Part Two of this story unfolds, we discover the fantastical how this Lobsterbird landed on her spiritual path. On the heels of completing the Shikoku Pilgrimage, and having read “A Tale for the Time Being” by Ruth Ozeki, Sophia returned to a life that was fundamentally and dramatically changed. She was seriously considering moving into a monastery and becoming a nun. “A Wrinkle in Time” lands her instead in Maine, risking life and limb to release trapped lobsters back into the wild... Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue I’m in a car with a family i just met, traveling via tesseract, to Maine for a couple days to release lobsters.  [1:29] How does one know whether to devote one’s existence solely to the study of Buddhism or to find ways to study while pursuing a life consistent with the one a person is already living? [4:15] “Do you know what you are doing??? You are going to Maine. This is the heart of lobster country. It is legal for people to be shot for stealing from someone’s lobster trap. Shot! And the law says that’s okay! It’s like you are going into Iraq and opening up oil valves and letting it drain all over the place.” [8:08] Gérard de Nerval is a Parisian famously known for liberating Thibault the lobster and taking him for guided walks in the gardens of the Palais-Royal. [9:09] If you permit yourself to think that lobsters can suffer and would rather not, the Maine Lobster Festival can begin to take on aspects of something like a Roman circus or medieval torture-fest. [10:36] The lobster study that shifted how scientists view the architecture and function of all neural circuits, including those in humans. [12:55] The actual steps to lobster release are incredibly simple and profound… Sometimes the lobsters do this amazing thing where they spread their “arms” really wide as if they are free-falling into a place of ecstatic freedom. [15:10] “I was no longer this person who felt in need of saving, but rather, a part of something much larger. It was through the act of liberating others that i found a new sense of freedom.” [17:11] Tapped into an entire ocean of Being. [19:19] All things feel. Your Creative Sparks: What is HOME? How a PILGRIMAGE can help us come home? Without any home ground, we are LOST SOULS. The more we tell our stories, the further they move from the truth. Thankfully, this story was recorded close to the truth in a blog written back in 2015, after Lobsterbird returned from her first pilgrimage in Shikoku, Japan. Her entire reality was shattered and shifted. She returned home completely rudderless, left out in the spaciousness to rediscover what the world really is - and what our path is, and how to find it. This episode was recorded Live in Bali as part of a deep investigation of HOME. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue Once upon a time... Your Creative Sparks: We come into each lifetime with a SACRED CONTRACT, what your soul agreed to learn. How SUFFERING causes pieces of our SOUL to leave, and how we can BRING THEM BACK. The THREE WORLDS: Why you would GO THERE and what kind of work you would do there? A lot of HEALERS want to do light work, but our PROBLEMS are not in the light. We are sitting in the jungle of Bali in the midst of pilgrimage with Lobsterbird and Shaman Goddess, Kim Woodcock, attended by the songs of Cricket and Cicada. It’s been a year of transformation for this modern shaman, and she takes us back into the trenches to reveal the ancient secrets behind her incredible healing journey - a journey that is available to everyone. Travel with us through the three worlds to discover how you can learn the hidden language of the stone people, the four leggeds, and the stars. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue How Kim’s chronic illness led her “into the cave” where she found the shamanic path offered the radical healing she needed to get herself out of bed and back into life. [5:06] The one thing she wanted to do most was travel again, even if it was virtual. Then Kim met Sophia’s and joined her first virtual pilgrimage. That led to sacred site healings, and she started to feel better. Since then, she has traveled with the League of Heroes to Tulum, the UK, and now Bali, in 2018 alone. [8:29] A life or death decision: How the Temazcal sweat lodge ceremony in Tulum challenged both the teacher and the student. [14:35] After 20 years of shamanic training, it was Kim’s personal healing that finally gave her the courage to step up and lead others on their own healing journey. [22:02] Bringing in the higher consciousness into shamanic practice and merging the new awareness with the old ways. [25:42] Bringing shamanism to the western world: The tale of Michael Harner, an anthropologist who studied the headshrinkers and was invited to do a vision quest with them. [29:10] Rhythm is an important part of the shamanic journey because it transports us. Drumming gets us into that theta trance space without the use of illicit drugs. [31:07] The three worlds: Why you would go there and what kind of work you would do there? [36:39] You can sit with the rock people and listen to their stories. Same with the stars and the animals. They all have something unique to teach you. The Earth NEEDS more people who can connect with the Nature Spirits again. [40:33] The shamanic path and soul retrieval: “I don’t think people understand what WHOLE means.” [50:16] Kim’s new apprenticeship program begins in January. In it, she teaches how to connect with the ancestors of the land, how to work with the medicine wheel, symbolism and animal communication, and the survival archetypes of energy. [55:55] Pilgrimage + Shamanism = the fastest path to transformation. [1:01:45] Links and resources: ARE YOU…? kimwoodcock.com/soul-deep-shamanism Ready to awaken the inner shaman? Your Creative Sparks: Energy itself exists on the SPECTRUM OF POLARITIES. LIGHT and ENLIGHTENMENT is our inherent nature - and the end goal. So long as we do not accept that DARK ENERGIES EXIST, we do not have THE AGENCY OF CHOICE. We have to attend to OUR OWN INNER DEMONS, or else the outer ones can get in. The battle is real. A rather rude awakening in Mongolia initiates Lobsterbird into the realm of shadow entities and dark matter. Four months later, after the tutelage of an Ipsissimus named Stephen Templar, she begins to break her silence. Join us in Bali, as the sultry wind whispers gently through a lush garden. The plants send their tropical greeting and big, leafy protection, inviting you to pull up a lounge underneath the mango tree. Listen... as we talk to you today about the glory and the gory. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue Her firm belief: we are able to co-create our reality from the quantum field, *everything* we see around us, including the things we would label good or bad. Her focus thus far has been on light energy, until... [4:01] We can see the darkness within ourselves. It comes out in our neurosis, pathos, our habits and patterns that we can’t quite seem to break, and the way we feel just darn crappy sometimes. [9:00] If energy is the source of all that manifests into matter, what does it mean that there is light and dark energy? [10:55] Ants bite. They aren’t entities or demons, but they do bite. Annnnd that’s kind of how dark energies express themselves too. [13:00] A story of serendipity: How Lobsterbird meets the Templars. [15:40] “If I am going to participate as a warrior of light, then I need some freaking help!” [20:00] Stephen Templar, a practicing magi and demonologist for decades, ushers her in. [24:04] “You have the markings of lemurian crystal engraved into your back.” [27:37] The Chöd practice in Canyon de Chelley - when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. [29:49] If you call yourself a lightworker… are you working with the full scope? If we are going to defeat the forces of dark/evil, we have to work with both sides. [35:31] It’s not everyone’s calling to be an energy worker and take on the demon army. [40:04] PRACTICUM: What are you aligned to? Your Creative Sparks: The POWER OF WOMEN: It’s a matter of SHOWING it, and SHOWCASING it, so it becomes an acceptance. Women must have AN ACCEPTED PLACE, so we don’t have to fight to have our power. Creativity is not just making art. Creativity is the CORE OF CREATION. It is your DRIVING FORCE. When that starts coming out, you start to live a different kind of life. How you can turn your CREATIVE FORCE into your PERSONAL MISSION. Join us in the wonderful land of Bali, where the power of Nature is very strong in the language of storms and earthquakes and volcanoes. The moon, the sun, the heat, the animals, the insects - they are all very present here. Our Lobsterbird meandered along the back streets and got lost to find this wonderful porch-pavillion portal, in the middle of the rice fields. Here she meets Marieke Warmelink, a Balinese transplant, painter and filmmaker, who teaches us the secret to creating a life of purpose and passion. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue Marieke is a producer of short films, which she uses as a platform to give voice to silent women. Her unique style of filmmaking finds her “interfering in reality” vs interviewing people in the more frequently used documentary format. Thus, Marieke is creating art that actually changes reality and produces surprising outcomes. [1:41] How Marieke learned to follow her own voice, to connect deeper with her intention, and to bring that intention out more in her work, voicing other women’s voices, inspiring each other, and creating a special bond in that process. [8:00] Why women’s power so important for the world RIGHT NOW. And how it’s more possible NOW than ever before for women who want to be courageous, to follow their dream, and to share their voice. [12:23] Marieke was once dominated by the idea that her life was somehow fated to be a certain way. Learn how the inclusive philosophy of Japanese Buddhism became a powerful core in her life, helping her see new possibilities, become more connected to her intuition, and understand that she can create a life that she wants and can enjoy - and that the most beautiful things in life are also for you. [15:15] Bali is on a specific layline and draws a specific energy, and women are being called here. It has a strong, fertile energy, a place known for healing. It attracts people who want to work with that kind of energy. [21:55] Marieke explains how your creative energy can open your desire to explore and be more playful instead of living a life that is planned and rigid and safe. Once you introduce that to your life, you are inviting an energy that is new and very spontaneous. This is a shift that more and more people are yearning to make. [25:15] How can you turn your creative force into your personal mission? [29:00] Do this one practical, magical thing and you will learn how to start following your heart! [33:00] Time has to do with priority. YOU ARE NEVER TOO BUSY, because you created that yourself. [37:30] Don’t mistake what it means to care for someone. Caring for someone isn’t necessarily helping them FEEL better. It’s helping them GROW better. You can inspire people by doing what you love to do. She’s been on a hero’s journey. She has witnessed and experienced a lot of darkness. Her illusions of reality have been completely shattered. “Who do I trust? Your Creative Sparks: A change agent must be VISIBLE - YOUR STORY must be TOLD. If not, there is a whole world that is not being served. Discrimination and the “don’t rock the boat” syndrome. The boat is broken, people! We can do as much for the WOMEN’S MOVEMENT by raising empowered, aware men. In Washington DC, Mermaid slaps her tail on the water. Magnificent ripples travel out into the ether, and all of the fish feel her power moving. Your friendly neighborhood Lobsterbird joins forces with Jenn Reid in an epic journey to dismantle the patriarchal world of audio/visual and revolutionize reality TV. With great power comes great responsibility. We must all face great challenges in order to get to the moment of magic.  Join the casting call, and prepare to make your move - and move this planet. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue Lobsterbird first met Jenn Reid at the Author’s Castle. Jenn was responsible for photographing the red carpet launch for the latest crop of bestselling books, taking headshots of the new authors, providing promotional images to support their marketing efforts, and capturing the magic of the launch day. [1:52] MicroLesson One: Everyone tries to talk themselves out of their true calling. Jenn’s tenacity scores an opportunity to work with Lobsterbird on location in Tulum, Mexico. [5:30] Jenn became an Audio/Visual technician in the late 90s - twenty years ago, before the birth of the internet. There were no cell phones. She worked with real film. She was good with technology. She likes to “master the machines.” Here she was in a man’s world. But she was determined to find her place in it. [10:10] MicroLesson Two: Everything we’ve done leads up to what we were meant to do. Jenn was the first female A/V technician for a “major organization”. What looked like a prestigious appointment to the outside world exposed her to a hidden world of rampant, overt discrimination and corruption in the realm of power and authority and status. [18:22] I was treated in a way that they didn’t treat the men. Very inappropriate things were said and done to me. There was no hashtag for this, no #metoo movement. Jenn was a forerunner. She wanted to be bigger than that. “I told myself, ‘This is how it is, Jenn. If you want to be here, you just have to deal with it.’” But she started to buckle under the pressure. [23:26] She reached her breaking point, but she met her husband there. And she decided to devote herself to creating a loving family environment instead. MicroLesson Three: The divine feminine is the energy of creation and nurturing. [28:49] Teaser alert: What question did Jenn’s oldest son ask that finally blew her out of the water? MicroLesson Four: We can overcompensate from one side to the other and get out of balance. [34:24] Events were calling her, and Jenn said Yes. An event has an energy. It has movement. It is fluid and dynamic, and Jenn can dance with it and capture it exquisitely. [39:00] MicroLesson Five: Everything comes back around when you surrender. Lobsterbird and Jenn are now collaborating to accomplish a bigger purpose - to redefine Reality TV. “We want to document the transformation that takes place on pilgrimage, and we want to showcase the women who are emerging as the new spiritual leaders.” MicroLesson Six: Stop doubting your power, potential and purpose! [42:45] They will be recording and producing the pilot during the upcoming November pilgrimage in Bali! The Casting Call is NOW until 10/20/18. If you consider yourself a spiritual leader, artist, healer, or creative - a movement maker ready to step into your light - we want to connect with YOU. Email us at magic@Lobsterbird.com. [51:00] Links and resources: Are you a movement-maker?, a change agent who has important work to do? Then you need to be visible! Jenn Reid’s mission is to enlarge the scope of impact for soul-centered entrepreneurs through audio/visual storytelling. She feels a strong need to capture your vision and help get it out there. Your Creative Sparks: FIRE comes as a reminder that WE ARE NOT IN CONTROL. Making the choice to GO WHERE WE ARE CALLED often feels like BURNING. People are AFRAID of the fire of PASSION igniting their lives and changing everything. Our five-part series exploring the fundamental building blocks of life – their constitution, their character, our assumptions about them, and our relationship to them. Tune into the energetic - and often misunderstood - gifts of Fire with Lobsterbird and Kelli, also called Daenerys, Mother of Dragons. Reunited under the mighty Redwoods as the fires rage across Northern California, these business partners and cosmic twins peel back the mystery and majesty of the flame. Join the ancient council in the Grove of Titans and tap the wisdom that awaits you there - and everywhere. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue Daenerys has past lives where she worked with and commanded dragons. Do people have a sense of their past lives? Kelli’s experience with Akashic Records reading says yes. “I’m only telling you what your soul already knows,” she says. They realize they already know it, because of how familiar it feels. [3:09] Fire is actually very healthy in a forest. The Redwoods in particular require the blazing seasons in order to propagate themselves. Here’s why. [6:36] Kelli was recently called to Italy. Following that still, small voice within led her on a journey which deepened her connection to, and her ability to communicate with, the Redwoods - who had promised to always be with her. [10:21] People get disconnected. PLACE doesn’t often resonate with people as being important energetically, a critical factor to being grounded on this planet. [16:36] We get stuck in our heads and leave our hearts and get all confused, until we drop back into our hearts again. [20:27] Pilgrimage benefits: We set the fire. We watch it burn. We are reborn. [25:00] Burning down the house… Kelli has done this a number of times in her life, following that inner voice, driven by a need to answer those inconvenient questions. [28:48] Honor the force of fire – People are afraid of Dragons. People are afraid of the fire of passion igniting their lives and changing everything… I see a lot of women resisting this fire and suffering MORE. [37:07] The spiritual path isn’t about *praying for something*. It’s a relationship. You develop a toolkit to build a connection with spirit, based on trust. Water – what time does it hold in it? 6:00 There are many different kinds of water time… snow falling time, still water time, rippling water time, rushing river time…  [4:52] Deborah’s career began with her training as a dancer. She soon learned that she also wanted to use her voice on stage, and it started coming up in her choreographic work. She was looking for a theatre training that she related to, and she found the Viewpoints - her island of dancers and actors coming together to use their bodies in a different way. [8:11] “Corporations aren’t going anywhere, but they want to become more human.” This idea planted in my head that I wanted to be spreading embody practices to people who were not dancers. [13:36] How we get to flow… When water runs on your body, you get to feel all sides of water, even the inside of it. Not like a rock, where you only get to feel the surface. With the Viewpoints, you get to look at your assumptions about the materials of life… time, space, emotion, story… What are those things really? And what is my relation to them? You get to choose. [20:50] How would you explain the Viewpoints to your Grandma? Deborah connects with her ancestry and formulates a unique perspective to describe her embodied practice. [22:55] You can explain the Viewpoints in words, but you must experience it to really get it. We are breaking down time and space into different elements, and putting our attention on them in a new way. Then we can put them back together in new configurations and create new possibilities. [29:20] Artists and scientist are not really that different from each other. They are all researching without having any idea of what the result is going to be, and doing so with the hope that you are going to change someone’s life. [31:11] How can the Viewpoints help us today? Uncovering assumptions! One is that the body isn’t valued. But the brain is not disconnected from the body. Knowledge comes through more than just language. How can we integrate the moving body and the thinking body? [36:14] Anger is a tool. What makes me angry is that art has been placed in a box. Artists have superpowers from being in their bodies. Creating change in our society is calling for embodiment. [43:33] Practicum! Join us in a basic Viewpoints practice called Walk and Stop. Put down whatever you are working on, and prepare to challenge your assumptions. BEing in Nature bridges the practical physical aspects of ourSelves with the deeper, older elemental Spirits within. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue “Divine disorder” gave Sonya the permission to follow the call in her heart, removing her from struggle and striving and all the things she thought she HAD to do… All the things that kept her from doing what she felt she really wanted to be doing, which was to be in the earth. She finally said Yes to that call, threw a few things in her car, and started GOing, pursuing her own unique personal pilgrimage. [3:36] How Sonya’s story became a book, in response to the hundreds of other women who express an inner longing for a solo travel adventure of their own. [8:38] Sonya discovered that her “wandering in the wilderness” was actually a Vision Quest. “My travel wasn’t just about being on vacation and disappearing. I was questing.” Normal every day life, our habits and patterns can obscure real *vision* from us. We can envision with more clarity when we quest into the unknown. [14:20] The scope of Sonya’s work has become much more profound that simple survival tips. “I realized early on in my journey that Nature was communicating with me and teaching me things.” She now passes that teaching on to others, showing women more than just logistically and physically how to be “out there” in a way that is smart and safe, but how to connect on a deep spiritual level and tap into the myriad of energies present and available there. [18:41] “I think of myself as a docent,” says Sonya. “When you go to a museum, the docent helps you understand the exhibit on a deeper level… I suggest ways that you can interact with this exhibit to help open yourself to new perspective and possibilities.” [26:00] From a purely physical level, Sonya’s work is akin Shinrin-yoku, which means “forest bathing”. This form of nature therapy originated in Japan and has a wide variety of scientifically proven health benefits. For women being called into the forest, it is likely their bodies are also calling out for healing. [33:53] When you give yourself to things that are not in alignment with who you really are and what you really want, you are literally giving your power away. It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Your Creative Sparks: Does too much COMFORT and CONVENIENCE actually STIFLE our growth? What is good about humans is that WE CAN ADJUST TO ANYTHING. Larger than language, it is our ACTION that helps people UNDERSTAND US. Part four and the “final” episode of our West African adventure! Lobsterbird talks with Ida-san, a man whose life took a dramatic turn at 50 years old, when he decided to challenge himself by going out of his comfort zone in a monumental, transcontinental move from Japan to Burkina Faso. What inspired him? And will it inspire you? Let your imagination take flight as we talk about making a big move, going where your heart is leading you, and finding the path to your greatest personal impact in the world. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue At 49 years old, Ida-san was a busy entrepreneur. He had worked as a hairdresser for thirty years and had grown his business to four salons with about 40 workers. One fateful day, he heard about a disaster in the mountains of the Philippines, where many people lost their homes and many children became orphaned. What he learned about the strength and ingenuity of these children would change his life forever. [2:20] Ida-san decided he wanted to try himself. “I wanted to become strong, to challenge myself. What will happen in such a place? Maybe I will give up. Or maybe I will become sick. Or maybe I will just close myself in the room because I cannot speak to anyone.” Ida-san was inspired to find out what he was really made of. [7:04] In a new and harsh environment where no one spoke his language, Ida-san found himself wasting away, physically as well as personally. [10:14] After two months, he thought, “I gotta do something. If I keep being like this, I’m going to lose myself. I’m going to lose to myself, and I don’t want to do that.” What did he do to find his power, break the stalemate, and begin to feed himself and his soul? [12:12] How helping a little boy to fell a tree finally broke the language barrier and established new friendships. Ida-san explains, “I learned something. It’s not about the language. I can connect my heart with other people at the first point, through my action.” [13:48] Ida-san’s body began to adapt as well, and he became one that could eat and drink anything. Even a gecko. [16:16] Ida-san’s experience continued to develop within him new strength, ingenuity and persistence. At first dismissed as a foreigner, how did he finally convince a local expert in agriculture to teach his village how to grow rice? He eventually created a system that combined the best techniques from Burkina Faso and Japan. He also made thirty wells, constructed a school, and initiated many other impactful projects. [18:58] Ida-san sees a bigger role in his projects, working from inside the local community and understanding its history. How colonization created distrust between people, and Ida-san’s vision to re-establish that trust. “In trust, there is a strong, strong power that we can create.” [25:15] We don’t have to break the system we have today to make an impact on the future. How can we put the elements of Nature into our civilized society, so that the law of the earth informs our understanding and the choices we make? [30:40] And what does Ida-san say about Africa being the motherland? “We all humans came from Eve, the mother, the first person. We have to go back unto Eve. From there, we should listen to what she is saying once again.” [34:00] Links and resources: Lobsterbird’s new book: Level Up: Power Practices for Spiritual Superabundance by Sophia Remolde Episode 26 Africa: Land of Creation with Miyu Leilani Episode 27 Africa: Land of Creation with Saori + Miyamoto Episode 28 Africa: Land of Creation with Cheick Music for this episode was contributed by Daniel Munkus and recorded in the Hudson River Valley at Subtle Soup Studios. Your Creative Sparks: There is great SATISFACTION in the SMALL SUCCESS toward a vision. We just need TEN PEOPLE of common will to make a DIFFERENCE. The circle of GIVE and TAKE… It has the power to CONNECT the WORLD. Part three of four on our West African adventure with Lobsterbird finds us in the office of Cheick, the organizer of the NyamaNyama International Art Festival. Here we discuss the ethos of why he created the festival and what it could mean for the future of Diébougou and beyond. Pull up a chair as we pull together something extraordinary. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue Before the NyamaNyama International Art Festival became a *festival*, it was just an activity organized to create awareness: to make the people of Diébougou aware of the need to take care of the environment, and to make other people aware of the city of Diébougou. [2:45] The vision for NyamaNyama came from a conversation between Miyu (see episode 26) and Cheick in transforming the issue of garbage in the city. Cheick’s first challenge was to figure out what kind of activity would be of interest for the people of Diébougou *and* for those who would travel here from other places. [10:45] Cheick had organized other festivals before NyamaNyama, each with its own theme. NyamaNyama took all of these ideas and put them into one festival: traditional music, dancing and performances, local food, local products, a children’s drawing competition and more. “People will come from far away to our dear city,” says Cheick, “So the people and volunteers must find it interesting.” [15:30] Cheick is not dispirited with slow progress. He holds firmly to the vision and believes that one day it will happen. “It is a long way, to change this kind of mentality. It has been years of people living this way,” He says. “If we can change the minds of ten people, then those ten people can change the minds of ten others, and change will happen.” [21:55] Cheick is gathering this small group of people through his efforts. Each person who comes is a small success, and even a small amount of success is a victory. [29:30] Diébougou may be a small place, but there is big work happening here. What we are doing can have effect into the future. It’s about people with similar objective, similar heart, and big vision, coming together. Anything can be done, if we have the same will. Your Creative Sparks: Your life’s PHILOSOPHY can be as SIMPLE as doing what is right in front of you. Sometimes CLARITY begins with knowing what we DO NOT WANT. Why worry, when IT ALL WORKS OUT in the end? Part two of four on our adventure in West Africa. Hang out with us on the porch under the hot African sun, while Lobsterbird endeavors to ply open the hearts behind the hands of Saori and Miyamoto. Undisguised and unpretentious as they come, these two volunteers simply followed the flow of life to Diébougou and found happy meaning among the singing children. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue How did Saori come to be in Africa? By airplane!, of course. This artist draws with the children of Diébougou. [2:20] Saori’s philosophy of life is quite simple. She does what is in front of her. When asked what she WANTS to do in life, her response is that she is far more clear on what she DOESN’T want to do, like to go business meetings or wear fancy, poofy clothes. [8:46] Saori doesn’t get caught up in thinking about problems, her own or the world’s. Does she have any problems? “I can’t think of any,” she says, “But if I started coughing, I would be more concerned about my health than about the problems of the world.” [14:04] The Diébougou children follow Saori and Miyamoto around. Saori humbly dismisses the gesture and remarks that they are just interested because her skin is a different color. But Sophia sees deeper into the special relationship there… [19:20] Miyamoto’s philosophy of life is to say yes, always to everything. This freedom to say yes included many years of drug use. “I used drugs to free myself, but in the end, I was captive to drugs,” he says. “It became the opposite. So I quit. I came to realize that there is more freedom without drugs.” [24:05] What does Miyamoto think of Diébougou? It simply happened by chance. He hasn’t traveled anywhere else, so he has nothing to compare it to. The children here pay attention to him, and so he pays attention to them. This makes him happy. [38:20] Like Saori, Miyamoto doesn’t spend his time in worry. What about poverty? War? Diseases? “Of course everything exists,” he says. “There is nothing that is weird about having them. But I don’t join inside. I join poverty, but I’m not thinking that I’m poor. I don’t have money, but I’ve never had a problem with money. I always have what I need for the day. [45:00] Happiness for Saori and Miyamoto is not a goal in and of itself. Happiness seems to be a natural outcome from a simple life that is free from worry and goes with the flow. Your Creative Sparks: Often we look at PROBLEMS and think the answer is to throw money at it. But ART can help connect the HEART at a deeper level, where real SOLUTIONS can be discovered. IDENTITY can be FLUID. One gets to decide WHO they want to be and WHERE they want to be in the world. “HALF PEOPLE” can be the PIONEERS to build a bridge between cultures. The ways in which we RELATE to each other can be more important than the things we endeavor to DO for each other. It’s midday in Burkina Faso, and the heat says we can’t work anymore. We are responding to the earth, not the clock, to tell us when to take a break. It’s a lesson to not force things, but to connect deeply and move the body with the heart. Why not recline on the mats with us?, as Lobsterbird and Miyu Leilani discuss our common suffering, the meaning of identity on personal, global and social levels ~ and what is asked of us as global citizens. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue When it comes to humanitarian causes, there seems to be great connections taking place, but often the connection is about financial support. Often people don’t know much about what it is they are supporting. They are not deeply connected in the heart. Miyu Leilani wants to change that for Burkina Faso. [8:48] Miyu was born in Japan, grew up in Japan, and moved to New York when she was 19. Japan is very “connected” to the United States, and Miyu heard about New York many times. But hearing about New York and living in New York is different. Talking about the United States in Japan vs actually living in the United States is so very different. [14:54] “How can people help us if we are not known?” Miyu organized the NyamaNyama International Art Festival to help connect people to the heart of Diébougou in a meaningful way. She wants people to know and love this place first, then together we can figure out what projects are appropriate. [19:00] Countries with money have problems. Countries without money have problems. How does cultural exchange actually change anything and help anyone? Why are multiple languages and multiple ethnic backgrounds important or useful? [26:46] A visit to City Hall can create a new identity? Discovering her true ethnic background as a “half person” initiated Miyu into a new role as a cultural connector. [38:08] Sixty ethnicities exist in burkina faso, living together, sharing the culture, loving each other and sharing the earth. It’s super simple. Co-exiting is possible! [41:04] Africa was the motherland before tectonic plate activity caused the continents to drift apart. Our different cultures are basically all made up. We all started from the same place and share the same mother. [50:27] Doing something new is not new in New York. It’s like a tidal pool in that the water is swirling, but it just stays in there. Too much of a good thing means things are suddenly unimportant. In Diébougou, everything is new, and everything feels so big. Each simple thing is a really big deal. [1:00:00] Conventional time does not exist here. People don’t look at the clock. It’s not the numbers they are dealing with every day. They have the time in themselves. They feel the time, loosely. Time here is more about the agriculture. They look at the earth and the sky and the wind, and they live with it.  [1:08:30] God is different here too. For the Burkinabè, God is not about religion. It’s about the whole spirit, the energy, the earth. [1:16:56] The local dance and connecting to the earth: even from a very young age, they are taught to have a relationship to the environment, time, rhythm, and their bodies. Your Travelogue In this surreal location, Lobsterbird and Sylvie connect over Salvador Dali, whose art symbolized that the world is not as it seems. While he was able to portray the world as it really is, he portrayed it in a way that most people can’t really see it. [3:13] Sylvie found ballet to be a bridge, where she could be both tangible and intangible. She could be present in her body and expressing the more etheric realms simultaneously. The brain waves of ballet dancers doing advanced movement are the same brain waves as advanced meditation. [6:36] How important is a daily schedule? Your Travelogue The plan from the Universe is far more expansive than anything our monkey minds come up with. How I found myself talking to “little people” and going on pilgrimage to... Mongolia?  [5:25] Who are the Kontomble? [11:05] They just showed up. And they said, “We want you to talk with us, and we want you to talk to other people with us.” And I was like, wha??? But then it all made sense, starting with me in New York watching a documentary called “InnSæi” - a film of inspiring interaction between experts in consciousness and radical insights on the power of intuition. [15:50] A series of serendipitous events eventually landed me in Burkina Faso, West Africa. I really wanted to walk around this land in the manner of Butoh/Noguchi Taiso, to better understand my relationship with the earth. I ended up teaching a theatre workshop. I had not completed my intention to connect with the earth, but I did establish a deep relationship with my host family (of the Dagara Tribe) and a goat. [19:50] Time cycles on, and I end up back in New York City, listening to an interview with Liv Wheeler, a Kontomble diviner. She was talking about Burkina Faso and how the shaman culture there was still very much alive. An inner voice whispers, “Listen. #23 Moving Through Depression ~ Jessi Brings a Little Color to New York City

Your Creative Sparks: Holding EMOTIONS happens in the BODY. We FREEZE in the middle. Giving women the time and space to tell the STORY of their BODY can help them to identify THEMES and LESSONS… the what, the why, and the LOVE. Jessi’s BIO process creates a biographical SCULPTURE, a TANGIBLE reminder that you have SURVIVED. Dirt is Love. Dirt, jiggle, sweat and vocalizing connection bring us deep into this balmy, beautiful day in Union Square Park. Following on the heels of two notable celebrity suicides, Jessica Browne-White of DreamscapesInk meets our Lobsterbird for a conversation around depression, shadow and the emotional body. Jessi is the colorful and exuberant creator of BIO (Body Image Object), an artistic process in which women’s body stories are collected and cast into sculptures that create a healing transformation for the participants. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue Jessi is a hero just because she showed up for this interview. Having dealt with depression for most of her life, her journey is teaching her how to release the stigma and overcome, instead of falling victim to ingrained patterns of isolation and shame. [6:47] We often don’t know what to say when we see someone in a struggle with depression. But you can’t go wrong by saying, “I love you. I’m here.”  [12:55] The dark times and the shadow places are often the source of your ability to have compassion and to help people. When we realize a path that works for us, we can integrate the shadow and bring others along the healing journey with us. [15:45] BIO – Body Image Object was formed out of Jessi’s desire to integrate her inner and outer world. She found that her inner turmoil manifested in physical ways, specifically in her body. BIO became a tangible way to release the pain and the self-recriminating judgement being frozen within the body and instead reclaim the beauty, complexity and purpose of it. [22:33] Jessi’s BIO process begins with a conversation and ends with a biographical sculpture. During the client’s storytelling, it becomes clear which part of the body has stored the main emotions, lessons, and recurring themes. Jessi creates a ribboned cast of this part of the body, a sacred ritual object, as a reminder that there is beauty and strength in all of these things that you have experienced. [26:26] We that have the greatest capacity for light experience the deepest darkness. Not only is it okay, but It’s GOOD. Open yourself to feel ALL of the world. Even in the shadow, there is found humor and joy. [35:25] The Practicum! Jessi leads Lobsterbird in a practice to help move and shift energy through the emotional body. Your Creative Sparks: Looking into perceived DIFFERENCES CAN MELT them all away. We come from ONE SOURCE. Whatever OUTER LAYER you wear is not an acknowledgement of separation. If I feel a DISCONNECT, it’s from something that is INSIDE OF ME. Guided by Spirit to sunny San Diego, Lobsterbird spends her Happy Birthday! learning to “Speak and Write to Make Millions.” Here we find her with sister goddesses Dee and Ayofemí, sharing their work and wisdom in a sweet little vortex on the lawn of the Hilton La Jolla, with the grass rolling green over the golf course. The course of conversation also rolled into how to handle racial issues with sensitivity while creating a greater unity consciousness. #paradoxalert Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue How did I get here? It’s my year of saying NO. And I don’t even like golf courses… Sometimes we have to go out of our way to breakthrough limiting beliefs. [2:06] Ayofemí is a creative artist, student of Chinese medicine, and African dancer. Her trademark coaching course helps women cultivate a relationship with their womb power center. Here we learn about womb magic, womb healing and womb archetypes. [10:30] Dee spreads love everywhere she goes. Her passion is teaching women how to heal the relationship with themselves beginning with their relationship with food. The healer in her emerged through a dramatic food renaissance in early adulthood.  [17:17] Fueled by the the mixed ethnicity of this Dare to Soar conference and the recent controversy with Danielle LaPorte’s Lighter, Sophia weaves in a self-serving question for the ebony goddesses... one that centers on race. [24:54] Do people of color have a trauma that is inherited through genetics? And if so, how does the prevalence of mixed ancestry fit in? This includes our ideas around gender to. Do we just not address this, because it actually doesn’t exist? [29:45] The awareness piece is very important. If we don’t address the negative story, it will keep recreating itself. It needs to be resolved, but don’t stay there. Express it. Re-frame it. Shift that story. We want our thoughts to go toward healing. [37:37] Part of the race issue is about wealth. #21 Lobsterbird on Aesthetics in the Pisgah National Forest

Your Creative Sparks: CREATIVITY is the spark of ENLIGHTENMENT. MAKING ART is creating the opportunity for ENERGY to flow through the artist and out into form. We are ALL MAKING ART together, creating this giant canvas, this giant performance we call LIFE. The magical song of the Lobsterbird calls to us from the heart of the emerald forest, where she collaborates with Nature to help us bend our awareness around the concept of “Aesthetics”. There are ways of knowing other than our physical senses. Our understanding of who and what we are is deepening. Paying more attention to the energetic qualities of our existence is accelerating and elevating our human consciousness. Letting go of aesthetics is another key to expansion and enlightenment. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue This episode was inspired by our podcast manager trying to wrap her head around the concept of “Aesthetics”, as presented in a previous episode with Gerald Busby. [3:06] Sacred Survival School? Sonya Louise is helping Sophia prepare for her Vision Quest, helping hone both the practical and mystical skills she will need to rely on. While here, Sophia decides to get Nature’s input on the concept of “Aesthetics”. [5:15] Gerald’s ideas on “Aesthetics” as understood by Lobsterbird: i believe he means creating a world in which things look and seem a certain way. that when we put a layer of opinion on anything, it becomes an aesthetic choice we make, instead of it simply existing as an amorphous, undefinable energetic entity (which it is at its very essence). in short, aesthetics = the world we perceive to be real. [8:24] Aesthetics and Artists: An artist who has been working on their craft for a very long time will develop an “aesthetic”. Over time, the art that is produced is a product of this one stream of consciousness, an energy stream that is embodied in a person – the artist – and so similar themes and patterns will come up, creating a certain essence of it because of the imprint of the artist on it. [10:45] We perceive things in 3D form, as material objects. We are under the assumption that we are touching and feeling and sensing everything exactly as it is. For instance, we perceive each other as having a specific human form. But we are actually just a channel for energy flowing into form, and our consciousness chooses that form. [16:40] Is a rock really a rock? Gerald Busby’s “Aesthetics” also talked about the “context” we put on things. Our thoughts about it offers context, and without that context, the form would simply dissolve into energy. Without assigning it form and meaning, the thing itself wouldn’t exist. [19:29] To really BE: If presence is our power, and perception is our power, than we can enter a process of letting go of aesthetics... letting go of the meaning of things, especially the meaning of things that we have been given by others. [24:50] Buddhism and the Five Skandhas: How sensing> feeling> perception> formation> and consciousness can be summed up in poop, and why that stinks.  [28:04] Art is a representation of what we do with our consciousness all the time. [34:54] When we go out into Nature, a quietness descends in our mind. There’s a power that the earth has to somehow unravel the conditioning of context. We can tap into something here, a different way of being, untainted by our need to exert our human influence on it. [37:17] Practicum! Go out into nature. Be. Notice the sensations. Shift your senses. Allow your Self the space to sense without putting any kind of label on it, without having a reaction to it, without telling yourself whether it is good or bad. Allow your consciousness to experience this world without labeling it. Your Creative Sparks: There’s a FINE LINE between CRAZY and GENIUS. Many an artist has walked it. APPEARANCES are not at all what they SEEM, and not as important as we make them out to be. In the Land of Infinite Possibilities, when you open yourself to the possibility that ANYTHING can happen, anything CAN happen! Of Legend and Lore and mystical Lands, in this episode we join Lobsterbird and Kelli Reese in glorious green Glastonbury, communing with two ancient tree creatures named Gog and Magog and preparing for the imminent pilgrimage. A new group of pilgrims are arriving to awaken and deepen their unique gifts and skills, to immerse in and surrender themselves to the flow of energy, and to open their hearts and their imagination to a new, magical perspective. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue The energy of the gnarled old oaks called Gog and Magog is extremely grounding. A fire nearly destroyed them, but something powerful and resilient remains. Death and Rebirth. [4:30] Driving by yellow fields growing barley, so bright, with a smell that is incredibly familiar, Sophia can see the elvin jumping. She experiences a deep, visceral knowledge of being supported - by humans and by beings of another realm. We all have that support, if we open our hearts to what’s available. [11:11] Planning pilgrimage involves having a framework AND being open to letting the pieces fall into place. We humans want to plan. We want to feel like we are in control of everything. But that’s what keeps us stuck. Letting go releases us into the flow, synchronicity, and magic. [14:54] Sophia walks through a portal and meets a Druid. Kelli acknowledges that she and Sophia were Druids in a previous life. Power principle: We have access to many different forms of information and many different ways of being. [23:06] We have to see the blood in order to access the beauty. We must allow ourselves to crack open with a willingness to let go and forgive. “The wound is where the light enters you.” ~Rumi [26:26] The Gift the druid gave Sophia – the gift of ceremony. [32:18] Time Warp - Fast Forward! Sophia and Kelli begin the recap of their journey. Picture an indoor spring. A dark cave. A private ceremony. Chanting and singing. Twelve bodies in a circle, lit by candles, their hearts blowing wide open. [33:33] The pilgrims become the students of poetry and movement in a workshop by Deborah Black and Alyson Hallet called “Embodying the Line.” [49:04] Butoh-ic Shamanism? Sophia learns of this healing practice and embodies her new knowledge in an improv performance in the redwood forest around a fire circle. The Gift of Ceremony is revealed! Your Creative Sparks: Contemplating DEATH can help you appreciate LIFE - and prioritize how you focus your time and ATTENTION. We all want to be WITNESSED at our true ESSENCE, which is something akin to LOVE. EVERYONE who comes in CONTACT with you takes SOMETHING away from it. They say “wherever you go, there you are” - but is that really true? How often are we actually *fully present* in the time and space we are in? A poignant popup from Where’s Waldo sets the stage for deep discussion on the value of being present in our daily lives. As JayMee trims the follicles of our Lobsterbird, they deconstruct time and space and the story of social justice, inquiring into how to help and what kind of help is really effective. Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue If the name of the game is presence, we could just sit here and be *present*. Why do anything at all? [7:47] JayMee’s bizarre productivity hack: There’s nothing like a near-death scare to make you think about the bigger picture, give you energy, and spur you to action. Will you be happy with the way you have lived and what you have left behind? [13:33] Being present allows JayMee to catch special moments and be deeply touched by them. A family playing becomes a beautiful thing, and seeing kindness exchanged becomes a tearful moment. [19:49] JayMee wanted to be a force for change in the world, and she would fire off ideas then attack her list of things to get done to create the change she wanted to see. But her physical body couldn’t keep up with her emotional drive toward social justice. She needed to learn to relax into the process and be fully present in the journey. [22:55] “Maybe it’s more about helping one or two people instead of saving the world.” [26:45] The Butterfly Effect in action: You are often completely unaware of how your passionate presence alone can be inspiring others toward radical action, even if you feel like your efforts are weak and ineffective. [32:45] How do you measure success? Can you ever be satisfied with what you accomplish? Maybe success is more about being fully present in ALL of life, not just when it’s good; being willing to explore the depths of it, and learn from it. Your Creative Sparks: Order and hierarchy are an ILLUSION, and perception is a CREATIVE act. ENLIGHTENMENT is the opposite of RATIONAL thinking and CRITICAL judgement. The LESS I know what I’m doing or how I’m doing it, the BETTER it goes. Every story has a protagonist and an antagonist. It’s easier to tell the story. The NEW paradigm is the dissolution of aesthetic boundaries. Lobsterbird visits her mentor and spiritual mirror, Gerald Busby in New York City, where we are jostled out of our limiting views with his *alarming* embodiment of his progressive ideas on consciousness, enlightenment, and the foils of life. “My job as a person is to realize that this life is a wide open space, like the plains of Texas.” Leave us a Rating & Review! Your Travelogue You can become aware of yourself as reactive, and choose otherwise. Acting in his first movie and surrounded by starlets, Gerald was so frightened he could hardly breathe. “Robert Almond said to me, ‘Don’t resist your fear. Use its energy to tell your story.’” Focus on the energy and flow with it. Get out of your head. [13:40] Your repertoire of words, thoughts, and experience are in a corral of sorts that you have built with your consciousness out of a need to contain them. But there are actually no boundaries. Being mindful is understanding that there are no limitations whatsoever. Meditation puts you in the position to perceive yourself as non-aesthetic. [19:15] You think you need a foil. You need an enemy to know who you are. You get the most power from your group by agreement, and the best way to create an agreement is to create an enemy. That way we must come together. [23:14] The things that concern you are your thesis. Then you meet someone who disagrees with you, and they become the antithesis. When these two forces start talking and having a dialogue and form a new *synthesis*. [28:50] Stop defining yourself in terms of your ability to describe yourself. Get away from critical thinking. Simply be present, and turn yourself over to the mind of intuition. [34:08] “The truth is what’s so. It’s also so what.” The essential existence of something is precisely the opposite of your intention to nail it down. There are no limits, and values are arbitrary. [41:15] Gerald’s view on morality: You manufacture whatever you need to keep your tribe cohesive and together. And the quest for certainty? There is none. You create it. Certainty is whatever you say it is. [50:18] Consciousness is a mattress. “I’m lying on the mattress of consciousness,” says Gerald. It’s the elimination of resistance. To imagine yourself as a non-aesthetic being is to not resist anything. [59:19] The best things that happen to you are ostensibly by accident. You are really in tune with yourself when you turn yourself over to accidents being the highlight of your life. The more terrifying the better. There is NO such thing as SPIRITUAL BYPASSING. No matter how enlightened you are, you are not above the lessons. The pilgrimage was amazing, but the journey leading up to it was not… Returning from a spiritual *high* at the Mayan ruins of Ek Balam (episode #15), our three American goddesses face some of their biggest fears when they become stranded in the middle of nowhere at night on a Mexican highway. Interwoven with clips recorded LIVE at the site of the breakdown, Lobsterbird and Kelli retell the tale and retrieve the treasure at recent a meetup in Manhattan. Your Travelogue They knew they needed gas. Why would they leave the restaurant without getting gas, even though there was a gas station right across the street? Kelli saw the gas station, but in the moment it did not occur to her to stop. It wasn’t long before the error hit her, the gas light started flashing, and she started trying not to panic. [5:25] These three amigas had taken on Goddess personas at the ancient Mayan ruins of Ek Balam. As Kelli’s biggest fear was playing out right before her eyes, the three fell into these roles and “performed” them to a Tee. {Cue Power Truth of the Universe: we are the creators of our reality!} [14:19] Pushing the car across a bridge and running down the highway in her sandals, Sophia remembers that “the voice inside” had told her to put on sneakers, but she didn’t listen. {Cue Power Truth: you have an internal guidance system! Our tale is full of examples of how this inner guidance system is always functioning in your favor, if you listen.} [21:21] Broken down on the side of a Mexican highway in the dark, Kelli is reminded of another Power Truth: You are there, so just feel, don’t think. As she settles herself into being in the moment, she opens her eyes to the amazing display of stars, her ears to the song of crickets, and her heart to an incredible oneness with God. The ladies realized there was a purpose to this debacle, and they each had an opportunity to work on deeper inner issues. Lobsterbird explores the Mayan ruins of Coba with Stephanie McAuliffe, pausing under a thatched roof structure, peering into a giant weathered stone that bears the remnants of symbols. Release the remnants of your old story and enter this portal to the unknown, where fascination springs to life again. Your Travelogue Stephanie talks about her arc of becoming a healer. As a young girl, she was fascinated with witchcraft and magic, but she put that away in order to conform. She went to work on Wall Street for 27 years. At the height of her career, she was brought to her knees, and it turned out to be one of her greatest gifts. It caused her to dissect her life, to look at her path and her patterns. Now she has stepped into energy work, and remembered the fascination she had at 10 years old.  [4:17] We are all energy, and we are attracting what we are putting out. That’s what witchcraft was about hundreds of years ago – setting an intention and working with mother earth and herbs and nature to manifest what we are intending. We are going through a shift now, to once again become more aligned with the earth and our magical powers. [8:12] Stephanie is the fourth generation of women in her family who have been affected by living with an alcoholic. Her book, “Message in the Bottle” is her first gift to the world. It documents part of her story, with tools and techniques to come to a place of peace. It goes beyond Al-Anon and beyond therapy, which in many ways keep us energetically connected to our old story. Stephanie’s mission is helping women disconnect from that old story, and release the old energy, so they can open up to the new. [9:22] Be brave enough to look at shadow. Alcoholism is suppressed shadow. Trying to deny it makes it come up in excruciating ways. But what’s the gift? How can you incorporate this knowledge with wisdom? Go from the dark spell to the glorious magic of creation. What you resist persists. The shadow will always be behind you until you face it. [12:20] 53% of us have been affected by a loved one’s alcohol dependency. It is safe to give a voice to your story. Let’s break the shame and isolation that comes with the stigma of having grown up in a house or having loved someone drinks too much. That’s the way we free ourselves.  [14:20] Links mentioned in this episode: Lobsterbird’s newest book: Level Up: Power Practices for Spiritual Superabundance by Sophia Remolde Access tools beyond the ordinary to free yourself from your old story with the magical Stephanie McAuliffe at www.stephaniebmcauliffe.com. Your Creative Sparks: Different from travel, vacation, or being a tourist, PILGRIMAGE is about doing some serious inner work. Special places exist in the world which CALL to us, and INVITE us into transformation. Deep inside, we all know what we are meant to do. We just need to make a DECISION and take that LEAP. Your life’s purpose is beckoning you, a calling that sounds like your heart bursting wide open and asking you to be present. Soar on the wings of change with Lobsterbird and her guests, Kelli Reese and Hailey Wiseman. Recorded atop Ek Balam, an ancient Mayan ruin, where Caribbean winds greet your imagination and soft rain kisses your cheek. Feel the tug of Tulum, a place where the jaguar pants, nudges, and cradles. Welcome, Pilgrims, to zero-one birth energy, where every day you have an opportunity to be brand new. Your Travelogue The energy of Tulum is like a soft protective bubble, but in your face. She gently nudges you with a kick in the a** to move forward already. Tulum offers an accelerated process of self-actualization and enlightenment, a magical and mystical womb that encircles us and allows us to be in process with our soul growth and healing. [5:15] Kelli’s work is primarily with the Akashic Records – past life information, releasing blocks and wounds, and understanding your soul profile: why you are *you* and what you are here to do. She specializes in helping people navigate the Void – the place where one door has closed but another has yet to open. Her second book is about the Void for relationships, written to the woman in a long-term relationship wrestling with inconvenient questions. [18:44] A lot of people want to change their lives, and they are seeing the real possibility to be able to do so in today’s landscape. The best way to do it is to take yourself out of the life which you seek to change, so you can see it from a new perspective. Pilgrimage and retreats provide you with that radical, transformative experience. [26:10] Hailey’s work involves teaching people how to engage in complete love transactions, the love laws of attraction. She helps people switch from thinking “What I am giving out into the world?” into “How I can open my heart to receive love?” Hailey taps into ancestral energy, guides, and angels to bring information forth that people are having a hard time putting their finger on, then using real world skills to help people them forward. [34:18] Business as a spiritual path: The dedication to spiritual growth, soul growth, and business growth go hand in hand. How to be in service and not in sales. How money is energy that converts to Love. The LOVE you give is an exchange, and money is Love coming toward you. [40:40] Goal-setting becomes God-setting: You have an idea, and you get pieces of it, but you don’t know how it’s going to come together. The trick is not to live in the future or the past. You have enough wisdom to set your intentions, then you live in the present and watch it unfold. There is a difficult part in between where you fall down a lot, and you question the decision that you’ve made. But the chaos happens right before the greatest change. #14 Power Truth of the Universe #3: Consciousness is Creation

Play Episode Listen Later May 3, 2018 32:51

Your Creative Sparks: We DREAM this world into BEing. To create something DIFFERENT that what we currently see, we have to DO something different than we have done before. Books are a great source of information, but *trans*formation takes PRACTICE. Are you a visionary? Are you tapped into your dreams? Investing in your dreams is the starting point of Conscious Creation. The next step is to monitor our thoughts and beliefs about our world and whether or not those thoughts and beliefs are serving the vision of our dream. The final step is to become the person who embodies those dreams, the person who thinks and feels and lives in a certain way in order to achieve those dreams. Lobsterbird walks us up and over the Bridge to Being, where you get to create your own reality and have the kind of life you truly desire. Your Travelogue It’s as if you are creating a painting. You can’t wait for it to become a painting first, before you believe you are the artist. You start with a blank canvas. You get to pick the colors and pick the feeling, and you choose how it goes onto the canvas. You become the artist when you pick up those paints, and some part of you believes that you can turn it into a painting – or else you won’t. [6:05] The process of neural reprogramming: we get into habits and patterns, and as we repeat them, they turn into neural pathways in our brain. It’s an ongoing loop that has us under its control. We have to choose to do something different, other than that habitual patterning, for new neural pathways to form. Conscious Creation means really taking a conscious look at yourself and your life and the world, and particularly your thoughts and beliefs and patterns, and analyzing whether or not they serve the vision of who it is you wish to be. [8:20] It’s up to each person to start adopting new *practices*. We have to practice a thing before it can become fully developed. Dream up the life you want to live, design it with your thoughts and beliefs, then practice BEing the person who lives in that world. Through doing that, a powerful energetic signal gets sent out into the Field, and the Field starts to turn that into form. [20:28] There is an ascetic outlook that was placed on spirituality in the world, where we stuff down our desires and don’t really admit what it is that we want to see. But this suppression and repression does not actually serve the conscious creation of a better world. Our enlightened nature wants to enjoy this world! Let’s Love this world! Let’s get deeply in touch with what it is we desire for our lives and create it. Your Creative Sparks: At any moment, you can choose to see life through the lens of FEAR, or you can choose to see LOVE instead. BEing in a state of pure, energetic potential FEELS like Love. Ultimately, all beings want to be happy and living in an energetic state of love. The way to experience this is to SHIFT our PERSPECTIVE. One of the common threads among spiritual masters was their outlook on the world, and that determined everything. These spiritual masters were guided by their love and compassion, and their enlightened nature was constantly working for the betterment of all beings. Love drove their “being”ness, and that caused miracles. Lobsterbird ushers you to a place where you, too, get to create your own miraculous reality! This power comes from being able to perceive your own mind, choose your perspective, and generate the result you want to see. Learn how as we explore #2 of the Three Power Truths of the Universe. Your Travelogue After understanding that Energy is Everything, the second level is heart training — developing your own heart. You can be exploring your mind to the Nth degree, and understanding how the universe works in all its complexity, but if it’s not connected to the capacity of your heart to be able to feel and experience compassion, you won’t be able to create the reality you wish to see. [6:00] What you choose to perceive, in any circumstance, is what you’ll get. You can look at the world around you and see all this suffering, pain, poverty, illness, war… You can look at this through the lens of fear, and choose to believe in a vengeful, fearful, hateful source of creation, and you will experience life as a fearful and hateful creation. The alternative to that is being miracle-minded and choosing to perceive things through the lens of love. [12:17] Meditation is a beautiful and necessary tool in the chaos and noise of today’s world. We need to be able to quiet our minds, because our minds are actually creating that chaos. Once we can quiet the mind and observe our thoughts, we can begin to shift our perceptions. [18:20] Find your own practice! Lobsterbird learned this through performance practices in dance and theatre, long before she began studying buddhism and meditating. She learned to shift her perspective through breaking apart her perceptions, the way she would look at, feel, and operate in the world on a normal basis. You are an unlimited being! Think about the unique ways *you* can deconstruct your assumptions, come into a place of stillness, then put things back together in new and creative ways. This is a power practice. #12 Power Truth of the Universe #1 - Energy is Everything

Your Creative Sparks: There is a FORCE we call energy which creates all that we see around us, and WE are all equally part of this force. Energy is like PURE POTENTIAL. This energy is RENEWABLE, UNLIMITED, and largely UNTAPPED. Lobsterbird escorts you to a place where you get to create your own reality! Here, we explore the Three Power Truths of the Universe. These three principles, when applied to our lives, allow us to create the kind of life we want to live, do the kind of work we want to do, be in the kind of relationships we want to be in, and have the kind of experience that would bring the greatest amount of joy, abundance, and love into our lives. Your Travelogue The principles of purification and accumulation: We all have an enlightened nature, but there are things that block us from actually living from this place. Purification is the process of releasing these blocks > which creates a more spacious quality within us > which in turn leads to our ability to accumulate. This process is cyclical. [4:04] Nothing is as solid as it seems. Einstein’s formula (E=mc2) teaches us that energy and matter are equivalent. Energy can transform into mass, and mass can be transformed into energy. Quantum physics has taken this formula and expanded it, stretching our understanding of what makes up “the real world.” We’ve discovered that our thoughts have energy, our feelings have energy, and our actions have an energy. [11:40] Energy can be *experienced*. We can experience the energy of our heartbeat. We can also experience the energy in a thrilling or frightening emotion, and we can feel how that changes the energy of our heartbeat. We can viscerally experience the universal life energy of Reiki. We can deepen our relationship to energy through attention and practice, and understanding this Power Truth gives us agency to have a conscious effect on this world. [18:10] So who or what creates that which we see around us? If we are energy, and we are connected to “all that is” energy, then we are! Energy is an open, formless field in which anything can be created. The first key to unlocking our ability for conscious creating is to get in tune with this Power Truth—that energy is everything. Your Creative Sparks: True CONNECTIONS are deeply felt and create a feeling of FOREVER in an instant. The best PR & MEDIA strategy is NOT about the perfect PITCH. It’s about asking “How can I help this person? At the heart of everything is RELATIONSHIPS. Spanning the vast time and space that is Manhattan, Lobsterbird explores what constitutes a truly magical connection with the Super-Connector himself, Chris Winfield, who has morphed his PR and Media business-building strategies into an all-out mission to connect great people with other great people, amazing opportunities, and their greatest potential. Your Travelogue There are two types of being uncomfortable. The first can work in your advantage: My trainer pushed me outside what I thought was possible. The second can trap you in an unproductive life and work: I hate doing this, but I just keep doing it. [4:45] True connection does not come from seeing just the shiny, filtered, happy part of us. That perfect highlight reel actually keeps us dis-connected. Knowing what someone needs help with leads to real connection. Using this strategy turns the often perceived hierarchy of PR and Media on its head. [9:20] Money and success doesn’t fill the hole of feeling “less than.” Meeting people and being very open brings the realization that everyone struggles with the same things. [12:22] Making organic, extraordinary connections led to Chris becoming the “Unfair Advantage” in his Mastermind group, which ultimately led to the launch of his current business: teaching others how to cultivate genuine, win-win connections for themselves. [16:40] Chris’s favorite quote from Steve Jobs: “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards,” became the calling card for his new mission: How can I help people connect the dots faster? [19:09] Unfair Advantage is built on a business model that does NOT scale. Chris has cultivated a dynamic, supportive community by picking up the phone, being curious, and taking a genuine interest in people. [23:03] Next Unfair Advantage Event is May 2-3 in NYC. Your Creative Sparks: It’s easy to give up a BAD story, but why might you give up a really GOOD STORY? Your book’s true purpose is to FIND the people you have a SOUL CONTRACT to work with and CHANGE their lives. You can’t say you want to change people’s lives unless you can COME CLEAN about your relationship with MONEY. From the balcony of the Author’s Castle, Dr. Angela Lauria weaves her subversive storytelling magic with Lobsterbird as the sun sets over the Potomac River. After years of seeing the world in black and white, believing she had “lost the lottery” when it came to the good things, Angela learned that re-telling your personal story can turn everything into a rainbow of complexity and possibility. Now possessing these keys to the Queendom, Angela inspires hundreds of authors on a mission to impact the world in technicolor majesty. (WARNING: Explicit Language) Your Travelogue While the Author Incubator launched in 2013, Dr. Angela Lauria’s “Call to Adventure” came in 2007, as she stood on empty in the pouring rain, having been fired a week before Christmas. She was mortified and resolved within herself, “I am never, ever going to be in a position where I can be fired again.” [7:19] We are all living the story believe about ourselves. If you want to change the story you are living, try re-telling your personal story. Not only did Angela change her own story, but now her business helps others retell their personal story while writing literally their books. [12:57] While the Author Incubator can boast a host of success indicators (Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing companies, $6M in revenue last year, etc.) Angela’s philosophy of abundance and how money works goes like this: It’s the Universe’s money. We are allowed to steward the Universe’s money in proportion to our responsibility level. [29:34] Angela’s mission is to overhaul the publishing industry. While the publishing industry made the world a better place for hundreds of years, the internet has changed the way important information arrives in the hands of the people who need it. In this era, authors have better options for getting their unadulterated message to the masses.  [44:30] Angela’s secret weapon is her subversive art, methods she learned from improv acting and post-modern theatre. Her message to artists is to trust your training and instincts as an artist, even if you end up doing work that doesn’t feel like “art”. Your body of work as an artist can influence any other work you choose to do in magical ways. [54:20] You have a calling to fund your movement. Your mission requires money. #7 Foundations: The Myth of Not Enough Time

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 15, 2018 56:32

Your Creative Sparks: Time *feels* really real, but it is just a CONSTRUCT. You are not bound by a clock. You actually have INFINITE Time. Time is relative to the PERCEIVER, subject to the context of the OBSERVER. The Foundation episodes travel deep down to bust the 3 biggest Myths of the Material World. Recorded on Long Beach Island, Lobsterbird tackles another big hitter in the world of myth. Board her Spaceship and prepare to experience lightspeed, slipstreams, and wormholes. Time is a tricky idea because it seems our whole world is organized according to the conventional clock. However, the only real time that exists is this moment right NOW, and it contains the past, present and future. You have agency to change time, including the past and the future, because it is all happening right now. Your Travelogue The construct of Time has changed over time. Ancient cultures thought of time as cyclical, working with the seasons and the phases of the moon. Later, we began perceiving time as linear, thanks to Newton. Now the construct is changing again. [8:40] There are no bounds to Time. It is truly limitless. Timelessness can be a felt experience, and as you feel it more and more, you begin to live it more and more. In Slipstream Time Hacking, Benjamin Hardy shows us how we can stop racing the clock and chasing the elusive future. [15:20] Time Lord technique I: The way that you perceive Time changes how fast or slow things are going. Einstein invites us to look at things in terms of lightspeed. The practical application of this idea is that the more *still* we are, the faster we actually move to achieve our goals. [26:11] Time Lord technique II: The choices that we make need to be in full alignment with our intention and our goals. We can begin to design our lives to take time only for those things that are most important to us, those that are aligned with our light, our pure desires, and our truth. [32:33] There is no objective or universal Time. The past, present and future all simultaneously and holistically exist in one. By changing the present, the past can be reshaped and the future altered. Instead of change being sequential and taking a very long time, it can be instantaneous—a leap through a wormhole. Sophia Remolde, the Wormhole Coach, describes the momentum achieved by leaping through these kinds of wormholes, which exist everywhere, presenting their opportunity for change all the time. [35:11] Lobsterbird shares the story of her Shikoku Pilgrimage, her first felt experience of bending time and space, completing the walking course in superhuman time, by slowing down and practicing presence. Wormholes are real. Whatever your goals are, you can get there - but it does require risk. #6 Foundations: The Myth of Not Enough Money

Play Episode Listen Later Jan 25, 2018 54:43

Your Creative Sparks: Money doesn’t actually EXIST. We have made it up and assigned VALUE to it. Money is an exchange of ENERGY, a currency of love or of lack. We can SHIFT our mindset around money and begin living in ABUNDANCE. The Foundation episodes travel deep, deep down to bust the 3 biggest myths of the material world. Recorded on her Heroes Pilgrimage to Tulum, Lobsterbird teaches us to break apart these core concepts and the hold they have on our lives. Reality is just a projection of our thoughts and beliefs. In an abundance mindset, money is the currency of love and a conduit of commitment. In a scarcity mindset, money becomes a means of usurping power and wielding control to the detriment of others and our planet. Agents for good are needed to re-dream and re-create the world we share. Your Travelogue Are you ready for a major shift? Money is just paper. This piece of paper is only more valuable than another because we say it is. Money only feels real because it drives our lives. [5:05] Let’s break it down with superheroes. Lex Luther spends his money to create technology and donate to philanthropic causes, but because these actions are fueled by his hatred and greed, the results are destructive. [10:44] Our mythology around money has been passed down to us for generations, like the sad story of the starving artist. But you do not have to be poor to make good work. In fact, the world needs you to step up and start creating a movement with your message. It has always been the artists, the creatives, the writers, and the innovators who have seen a vision and imagined what is possible before it came to exist. [17:30] Your thoughts create your reality in regards to making money. Thoughts geared toward lack vs thoughts geared toward abundance = very different choices. When we believe there is not enough, it leads us to create systems and strategies that only look out for ourselves, causing us to become stingy, triggering a wanting of more and more, perpetuating the great divide, and raging us into war. [30:00] When you start a healing journey, your psyche will resist change. [39:00] When we are doing the deep work on our own thoughts, ideas and beliefs around money, we can open new possibilities in the minds of others, even the most brutally oppressed. Working on ourselves changes the entire paradigm.
