One of the profound realizations I had in studying A Course in Miracles was gaining an understanding about what the past and future really are. If you think about the past, what is it? It is a memory. What is a memory? A memory is an image in our mind. What is an image? An image is a thought. So what this means is that the past is totally under our control for it is nothing more than images or thoughts in our mind, and our thoughts and images are totally under our control. We examine what 'the Now' in reality is.
