Core beliefs are supported by "evidence" that proves they're true. The evidence may not be true, but since the subconscious doesn't know the difference between reality and imagination, cannot use logic or reason, and cannot judge something as unrealistic - the "evidence" it relies on comes from experiences. Experiences, for example, of being made to feel ashamed or stupid - could be providing the subconscious evidence that "proves" you're not good enough.
