When Jeffery resisted their sexual advances, Jaynes placed a gas soaked rag over the child's mouth and used his obese body to suffocate Jeffery. The duo sexually defiled the boy's body and later dumped the body in coastal New Hampshire. The investigation quickly focuses on Sal Sicari, as he interjected himself into the investigation. Sicari confessed and implicated Jaynes very quickly. This crime shook Boston to it's core and it still resonates today.
