Trust - Episode #120  Being behind the mic this afternoon allowed me to reflect on my journal entries, conversations and experiences I have gone through these last few years of my life. It started here, Word by LoLo, I bet and trusted on myself. I trusted in my vision and I am slowly seeing it come to life day by day. By the grace of God I am here, March 15, 2022. Fast forward 3 years of podcasting  and the start of a Branding agency @risedma amongst other projects I have on the sidelines I have learned that the more I trust in my potential and hard work things are closer than I once thought.  I have lost money, confided in the wrong people, I've had my heart broken, however through it all I was able to let go of the things that were keeping me away from trusting once more. Trust is like faith, you can't see it but you can choose to believe it.    I invite you to tune in and listen to this episode!  - Trust is earned but never fully given -

Sometimes the lessons are filled with hope. Sometimes the lessons are simply reminders of who and whose you are.  When Sara facilitates Dare to Lead training, she refers to this as the reckoning, rumble, and revolution. It takes courage to look in the mirror at the cold, hard facts and answer the questions that invite you to find the meaning from the mess.  The four questions we talk about help you reflect on the emotion, the internal dialogue, the truth, as well as your desire for a brave new ending. You'll hear what the disciples did when they were with Jesus in the midst of the storm and our take on how the literal storm they encountered helped them to not only lead well but move into a season of growth.  This is the fifth and final episode in the series, Leading through Storms. Welcome to Minisode Monday, where we kick off the week with something quick and actionable -- to make you more magnetic and effective -- that you can implement right away. When you agree to meet with someone for the first time -- whether it's over coffee to discuss a startup idea or over martinis for recruitment to your counterintelligence team -- you should be prepared. The Code of Trust: An American Counterintelligence Expert's Five Rules to Lead and Succeed author Robin Dreeke rejoins us to share some of his strategies for first meetings. If you like what you hear here, make sure to check out our full show with Robin here. Let's get to it! The Cheat Sheet: Know their generation. The time in which we grow up informs how we see the world. Baby boomers have a very different point of reference from millennials. Keep a truth. Robin wears a Darth Vader watch -- a prop that has authentic meaning to him and tends to spark conversation. It "builds affiliation through a commonality," he says. Let them choose the time for your meeting. You may have to reject it if there's a conflict, but it shows you don't take their time for granted and it empowers them with choice. Get there on time. The reasons you don't want to arrive late shouldn't have to be explained, but arriving too early is a signal that you're there for your reasons -- not theirs.
