For the last 400 years when medical researchers conducted an autopsy they would throw this away as medical waste, not realizing it was actually a powerful connective organ...now Western science has finally caught up with Chinese Medicine in discovering the power of fascia. What is fascia in your body and how can learning about it benefit you? In this episode you'll learn: What fascia tissue is and how it connects every system in your body, allowing for strength and mobility. How your fascia actually communicates throughout your body. If one organ has an issue, it could be impacting another one. How your fascial system is your body's electrical system, conducting energy, a fact Western medicine is finally waking up to while Traditional Chinese Medicine has known it for thousands of years. How embryology is the process through which one cell becomes your whole body, from conception to birth, and your meridian lines form the blueprint. You will also hear his vision for what an Age of Abundance looks like in practice, from solar energy and robotics to brain-computer interfaces and the role AI might play in solving problems like clean water, food security, and healthcare access in places like Chad, and why Brett believes the single most important variable in whether AI helps or hurts humanity is whether the people building it are operating from love or from fear. Brett Hurt is a tech entrepreneur and investor. He co-founded and led data.world, acquired by ServiceNow in July 2025, and previously co-founded Bazaarvoice and Coremetrics, acquired by IBM. Most of us are doing all the things — and still not feeling vital and energized. This episode might reveal the missing piece…   In this week's episode, I sit down with Connie Zack, co-founder of Sunlighten Saunas, and her story alone is worth pressing play for. It starts with someone she loves, a health crisis that wouldn't budge, and a discovery that quietly changed the direction of her life.   We get into what infrared light actually is — and why it's so much more than just a hot room. We cover how it works at the cellular level, and what that actually means for detox, circulation, and the kind of deep rest most of us aren't getting. We also had a really honest conversation about the nervous system — why you genuinely cannot heal when you're stuck in fight-or-flight, and what it actually takes to come back into regulation.   It's not about adding another step to your wellness routine. It's about understanding what your body needs to do what it is innately designed to do... to heal.   If you feel like you've been running on empty and can't quite figure out why… I think this conversation is going to open something up for you. If you follow me on Instagram, you know how obsessed I am with my infrared sauna. It's my mini oasis where I go to replenish and reflect. If you'd like to learn more or create your own sauna tailored to your needs, visit Sunlighten.com/healwithkelly to receive a personalized quote. Infrared saunas can be pricey — so it's a great time to remind you that the sun is the most abundant and free source of infrared light. Spending 10–15 minutes outdoors in the morning or late afternoon will also give you a healthy dose of rich spectrum near-infrared rays. As a mom of three boys, one of the questions I think about most is: how do we raise healthy, resilient kids in a world that feels increasingly complicated? In this special compilation episode, I'm revisiting some of my favorite conversations about parenting, emotional health, food, independence, and resilience. These discussions have shaped the way I approach motherhood and have given me practical tools that I come back to again and again. You'll hear from Dr. Lauren Hartman on helping kids develop a healthy relationship with food and their bodies, Devon Kuntzman on understanding toddler behavior and responding with connection instead of reaction, Lenore Skenazy on why independence is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children, and Nicole Runyon on setting boundaries that foster confidence, resilience, and emotional strength. How can you use AI to better understand your labs without replacing your doctor? I'm talking with Dr. Darshan Shah about one of the most exciting shifts happening in health: the intersection of AI, personalized medicine, and longevity. Dr. Shah is a physician, founder of Next Health, and the author of the upcoming book Your New Health OS, and he breaks down how women can start using labs, wearables, and AI in a smarter, safer way. We also dig into why muscle, hormones, HRV, morning routines, and the basics of lifestyle medicine still matter more than the flashiest biohacks. What you'll learn: (05:35) AI is changing personalized health and why women over 40 need to learn how to use it wisely. (08:01) Lab testing is more available than ever, and how AI can help connect the dots between your results. (10:22) How to use wearables without creating data anxiety or obsessing over daily scores. (11:27) HRV is one of the most important health metrics to track for stress, recovery, and nervous system balance. (17:17) What a digital twin is and how it could help predict your response to health interventions. (22:29) Why Dr. Shah created Next Health and how it brings longevity, functional medicine, and biohacking tools under one roof. (24:22) Sleep, exercise, nutrition, and metabolic health need to come before advanced longevity therapies. What if the supplements you've been taking to feel better are actually the reason you feel worse? That's exactly what happened to me, and it sent me down a rabbit hole that led to one of the most important conversations I've had about my own health. Today I'm sitting down with my close friend and personal doctor, Dr. Sabrina Solt, a regenerative medicine physician and peptide expert who has been in this field for over a decade. We start with the question that started everything for me: why was I wired at 3am, crashing every afternoon, and reacting to the exact supplements I thought were helping? Dr. Solt breaks down the cortisol-prolactin connection that most doctors never test for, explains why elevated cholesterol in midlife women is often a protective response rather than a red flag, and walks us through the inflammation markers that actually tell the full story of what's happening inside the body. Then we go deep on what she calls the upstream-downstream problem, the real reason why things like methylated B vitamins, NAD drips, and glutathione pushes can backfire so badly in certain women, and what to do instead. She explains the genetic piece around MTHFR and COMT variations, why "more" is rarely the answer, and what supporting downstream clearance actually looks like in practice. From there, we get into peptides. Dr. Solt gives a grounded, clinical breakdown of BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, the copper peptide GHKCU, growth hormone releasing peptides, and the serious cautions around GLP microdosing gone wrong. She also shares her vision for what medicine could look like if doctors were equally fluent in peptides and pharmaceuticals. This is the conversation I've been wanting to bring to you for a long time. Dr. Sabrina Solt is one of the most precise and brilliant minds I know, and she does not hold back.   WE GO DEEP ON:  The cortisol-prolactin connection most doctors never test Why high cholesterol isn't always the villain (and what MPO reveals) The upstream-downstream mistake making "healthy" habits backfire Why NAD and glutathione drips can be dangerous for some people A no-BS peptide breakdown: BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, copper peptides, and more The truth about GLP microdosing and its risks What to fix before you ever try a peptide   Catch the full episode on YOUTUBE HERE: https://bit.ly/MidlifeConversationsYouTube   Learn More About Sabrina Solt  Instagram ➜ http://www.instagram.com/drsolt  Website ➜ http://www.stemcelltherapypro.com/  Peptide Membership Website ➜  https://dr-solts-peptide-corner.circle.so/forms/dfdcc2cd        Thank you to our show sponsors:  QUANTUM UPGRADE: Try Quantum Upgrade completely free for 15 days—no credit card required. You'll discover practical strategies to improve foot strength, support better movement, and make smarter footwear choices without giving up comfort.  By the end, you may never look at your favorite pair the same way again—and you'll know exactly how to tell if they're among the shoes ruining your foot health. My Guest: Mark Sisson has been shaking up the world of health and fitness for over twenty years. He ignited the ancestral health movement in 2006 with his wildly successful blog, Mark's Daily Apple, and his best-selling book The Primal Blueprint. He helped popularize the ketogenic diet and the concept of intermittent fasting with his New York Times best-selling books, The Keto Reset Diet and Two Meals a Day. He gave millions of health-minded grocery shoppers access to healthier sauces and dressings with his Primal Kitchen Food company. He sold Primal Kitchen to Kraft Heinz for $200MM. And now he wants to change the way the world walks with his latest venture, a shoe company called Peluva and his latest book Born to Walk. Questions We Answer in This Episode: How did your journey from health entrepreneur to footwear innovator begin? Is it better to start walking in cushioned shoes or transition directly to minimalist footwear? What happens to your feet when you switch from traditional shoes to Peluva shoes? Why is the big toe considered one of the most important joints for movement, strength, and longevity? If you're overweight, out of shape, or new to exercise, what type of footwear should you start walking in? Are we seeing a shift toward healthier footwear choices for children and future generations? If you could go back to your athletic prime, how might stronger foot health have changed your future as an athlete? Do you miss distance running, and has your perspective on exercise changed with age? Is minimalist footwear right for everyone, and who benefits most from it? And this conversation goes a lot deeper than seeing clearly. Dr. Bryce Applebaum is a functional neuro optometrist who rewires the connection between the eyes and the brain. Vision is not the same as eyesight. Eyesight is how you focus light. Vision is how your brain tells your eyes to move, converge, track, and make sense of the world. And in 2026, with the average adult spending over seven hours a day on screens, that system is under more stress than it has ever been. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why your prescription should not get stronger every year as an adult, and why a worsening prescription is a sign your brain is adapting to stress, not a normal part of aging • The connection between functional vision problems and ADHD, including why convergence insufficiency and eye turns are diagnosed far more often in kids labeled with ADHD, and how vision training has gotten patients off medication entirely • Why blue light blocking glasses are not enough, what is actually causing your brain fog and eye fatigue after hours on a screen, and the overnight contact lenses that reshape your cornea while you sleep Plus the foods that protect your eyes, the foods that accelerate macular degeneration, and why vision belongs at the top of your list if you are dealing with brain fog. Why do some people look amazing after procedures while others look strange, swollen and are frankly regretful? In this episode, I'm sitting down again with Dr. Rady Rahban, a Beverly Hills board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, to get brutally honest about what women need to know before plastic surgery. We talk about the procedures that can look beautiful when done well, the ones that are overdone or misunderstood, and the red flags that should make you walk away from a surgeon. My goal is to help you feel informed, empowered, and clear-eyed so you can make decisions from confidence instead of fear, pressure, or hype. What you'll learn: (07:13) Modern plastic surgery techniques and anesthesia make procedures safer than ever, but marketing hype can still cloud patient judgment. (08:49) Brazilian Butt Lifts involve highly aggressive liposuction and carry a deadly risk of fat embolisms if injected incorrectly into the muscle. (14:24) A revolutionary donor product called Aliclay allows lean, fit individuals to add cosmetic volume without needing their own harvestable fat. (19:52) The phenomenon known as "Ozempic face" is primarily the natural result of rapid weight loss rather than a specific drug side effect. (24:55) A natural-looking facelift relies entirely on a skilled surgeon knowing exactly how much to adjust the tissue dial without over-pulling. (32:13) Extensive body contouring after massive weight loss requires a highly detailed prioritization plan and realistic economic budgeting. (35:23) Many body contouring surgeons utilize unvetted assistant teams to perform extensive suturing while the primary surgeon exits the room. (38:01) Finding a reputable surgeon requires identifying specific red flags, such as high-pressure sales tactics or a disorganized office environment. Love the podcast? What if the reason you can't access magic consistently has nothing to do with strategy, discipline, or desire - and everything to do with the frequency your body is broadcasting? In this special episode of Why Isn't Everyone Doing This?, Emily Fletcher kicks off a three-part series designed to help you get ready for Magic Maker, happening this July. This first episode tackles one of the most quietly frustrating experiences on the spiritual path: not whether magic is real, but why you can't seem to stay there. Emily explores why so many people who already believe in manifestation are still hitting invisible ceilings, and why the answer has less to do with your mindset and more to do with whether your head, heart, and body are sending a coherent signal to the quantum field. She grounds this in research from the HeartMath Institute, Einstein's foundational principle on consciousness, and her own five years of developing this body of work. This episode is for the people who have already tasted magic, and want to know how to live there - on demand. In this episode, Emily explores: What "magic" actually means, and why it has nothing to do with wishful thinking or pulling things out of thin air Why manifestation is not something you do, but a reflection of who you believe yourself to be How most people are accidentally sending mixed signals to the quantum field, even when their desires are crystal clear Einstein's principle: no problem can be solved at the same state of consciousness that created it The difference between paranoia and pronoia, and why we keep slipping back into protection mode Research from the HeartMath Institute on heart-brain coherence and the electromagnetic field of your heart Why you cannot tell your nervous system to calm down, and what to actually do instead How unprocessed emotion and inherited trauma create energetic static that blocks what you're calling in Key Moments: 00:00 — Welcome and what this bonus series is about 01:25 — What "magic" actually means 02:10 — How mixed signals to the quantum field work 03:20 — Manifestation as a report card on your state of consciousness 03:44 — Einstein and the problem of solving from the same frequency 05:15 — Who this series is for 06:32 — Heaven as a vibration, not a destination 10:39 — Why smart people get stuck in the same manifesting traps 12:45 — HeartMath Institute research on coherence 14:10 — The cosmic server analogy 15:32 — What Magic Maker will cover 17:28 — Preview of next week's bonus episode Something is building at Ziva. Muscle loss and sarcopenia have been synonymous with aging in previous generations. Muscle loss impacts osteoporosis, balance, stability, independence, and hormone balance.  In this episode we'll talk about the 3 M's and how to bank muscle looking forward to a time off your fee as well as how to get it back if you have muscle loss and sarcopenia.  My Guest: Dr. Chris Meletis is an internationally recognized educator, author, lecturer, and functional medicine practitioner with more than 33 years of clinical experience. He has authored 18 books and over 200 scientific articles, contributing extensively to the fields of naturopathic and integrative medicine.  Formerly the Dean of Naturopathic Medicine and Chief Medical Officer at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, he was honored as Physician of the Year by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Passionate about accessible healthcare, he helped establish 16 free natural medicine clinics and continues to focus on the GI microbiome, mitochondrial health, nutritional biochemistry, and botanical medicine. Questions We Answer in This Episode: What trends have you seen in aging, and why does muscle become such a critical issue for women in midlife and beyond? Are physicians beginning to use muscle-related assessments as vital signs, and should strength be monitored more routinely as we age? What does grip strength actually measure, and why is it such a powerful indicator of overall strength and future health? What happens when you need a bunion surgery, joint replacement, or another procedure that temporarily limits activity? Will you lose muscle, and how can you prepare for it? If you're told to lose weight before a knee or hip replacement, how do you protect muscle mass while improving your health outcomes? Are we eating enough protein, and is our digestion allowing us to actually absorb and utilize it as we age? How can muscle-support strategies help during periods of bed rest, illness, pain, long COVID, or other situations that increase the risk of sarcopenia? What should active women do when they're already exercising but still struggle with maintaining muscle, energy, or lean body mass? If this episode made you flip your workout routine — share it!

If you are waking up between 2:00 and 4:00 AM, lying there wide awake with your heart beating a little too fast and your mind solving every problem in your life, this episode is for you. Because this is not just about bad sleep. It is about what happens when the hormonal, adrenal, and nervous system shifts of midlife collide with the stress load most women are already carrying. And for a lot of women, this is the moment they stop feeling like themselves. In this episode, I do a deep dive into what is actually happening beneath the surface when women in perimenopause and menopause start feeling wired, tired, fragile, overwhelmed, anxious, and unable to recover the way they used to. We talk about the HPA axis, cortisol rhythm, DHEA, blood sugar, stress intolerance, adrenal strain, and why the advice women are getting online is often way too surface level to actually help. I also share what this has looked like in my own body, why midlife can feel like the season where your body stops tolerating the way you have been living, and why that is not a personal failure. It is physiology. This episode lays the foundation for understanding the deeper systems driving midlife sleep disruption and stress dysregulation, so you can stop blaming yourself and start getting clearer on what your body may actually need. In this episode, we cover: Why 2:00 to 4:00 AM wakeups are so common in perimenopause and menopause The difference between being tired and being hormonally and neurologically dysregulated What the HPA axis is and why it matters for stress and sleep How estrogen and progesterone affect stress resilience and recovery Why cortisol is not the enemy, but timing matters How cortisol dysregulation can affect sleep, anxiety, belly fat, and energy Why DHEA is one of the most overlooked hormones in midlife The connection between blood sugar drops and middle-of-the-night wakeups Why the old coping strategies stop working in midlife Why testing cortisol rhythm and DHEA can be so helpful Who this episode is for This episode is for women in perimenopause and menopause who are struggling with broken sleep, 3 AM wakeups, stress intolerance, fatigue, anxiety, feeling wired at night, crashing in the morning, or just feeling like they cannot handle life the way they used to. It is especially for women who want to understand the deeper physiology behind what is happening instead of being told to just relax, meditate, or take one supplement and hope for the best.     Sponsors Try Vitali Exosomes Skin Care vitaliskincare.com use coupon KM20 to get 20% off your order! Could your “normal” labs be missing the real reason you feel exhausted, foggy, or stuck? I'm joined by Dr. Amie Hornaman, known as The Thyroid Fixer, to talk about why so many women over 40 are told their labs are normal while still feeling tired, foggy, inflamed, and unable to lose weight. We dig into thyropause, Hashimoto's, reverse T3, thyroid medication, and the exact labs women should ask for if they want real answers. My hope is that this episode helps you stop blaming yourself and start testing, advocating, and getting the support your body actually needs. What you'll learn: (06:28) Why Dr. Amie Hornaman believes “thyropause” deserves more attention for women over 40. (07:56) Why standard thyroid testing often misses what is actually happening inside the body. (11:20) How Hashimoto's, hormonal shifts, stress, toxins, and autoimmune triggers may contribute to thyroid issues. (13:15) Why TSH alone may not tell the full story of your thyroid health. (14:43) How reverse T3 can push the body into a survival-mode state that slows metabolism. (17:22) Which thyroid labs Dr. Hornaman recommends asking your doctor to run. (24:30) How thyroid symptoms and perimenopause symptoms can overlap and influence one another. (43:35) How GLP-1s, inflammation, and thyroid optimization may intersect when used appropriately. Why Wearing Sunscreen All Day May Be Doing More Harm Than Good for Women Over 40

High Performance Health

Why Wearing Sunscreen All Day May Be Doing More Harm Than Good for Women Over 40 In this thought-provoking episode, Angela Foster sits down with renowned beauty expert and author Liz Earle MBE to challenge conventional wisdom about sunscreen and sun exposure. Liz discusses why current public health messaging around universal, all-day SPF use might be too extreme, potentially robbing us of vital Vitamin D and other essential benefits of natural daylight. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many people assume they still get Vitamin D while wearing sunscreen. However, Liz points out that this only happens because most people apply it too thinly or miss spots.  Applying high SPF when it is completely unnecessary, like on a dark winter morning during an underground commute, is a sign that public health messaging has become too broad.  Our skin isn't just a physical barrier; it actively receives light and communicates with the body's immune system.  Exposing your skin to gentle, early-morning sunlight (when the UV index is low) acclimatizes it.  Medical professionals and researchers are beginning to speak out against extreme sun avoidance.  BEST MOMENTS "When people say, 'Yes, you get Vitamin D from the sun when you're using sunscreen,' yeah, because you're not using your sunscreen properly. You're actually allowing some of that UVB to come through the skin." "The worst thing that we can do is stay indoors all year and then rush out for our two-week summer beach holiday and fry ourselves on the beach... That's because our skin has not got used to the sunlight." "The skin is actually an organ of light reception. This is what we're just beginning to understand, that the skin has light receptors on it for reasons—they're signaling, it's not just blocking and keeping our insides intact." "I don't know if you take collagen supplements, I do, but actually by going out in early morning light, I'm telling my body to make more collagen. So it's preparing the skin." "He says that he thinks that we will look back at this time and our lack of sun exposure as being as damaging to our health as smoking." The Forever Young Documentary takes you behind the scenes of longevity — but with a perspective most people are missing.  What really matters when it comes to aging well, from healthspan and biomarkers to connection, purpose, and the surprising science of loneliness? How to actually age with energy, strength, and independence? Is the hype around longevity real? After interviewing top longevity experts around the world, David Donnelly's experience completely changed the way he approaches his own health and future.  Forever Young Documentary is more than a film about living longer; it's a powerful reminder to live better now. My Guest: David Donnelly is an American documentary filmmaker whose work spans classical music, culture, and technology. His award-winning debut feature, Maestro, profiled leading artists including Paavo Järvi, Joshua Bell, Hilary Hahn, and Lang Lang, and was broadcast internationally.  Donnelly's films have screened at venues including the Whitney Museum and the Kennedy Center. In 2021, he co-founded CultureNet and began a documentary trilogy exploring technology's cultural impact, including The Cost of Convenience and Forever Young. He is also a sought-after speaker who has interviewed global thought leaders across more than 30 countries. Questions We Answer in This Episode: [00:11:09] What do people actually mean when they say they're afraid of aging? [00:14:50] What does longevity science get right, and where might pop culture and social media get it wrong? [00:18:28] Where do isolation and loneliness fit into the longevity conversation? [00:24:17] What's the difference between fear of dying and fear of death itself? Is there science that helps us understand whether fear of dying alone is different from fear of death? Happiness is becoming scarcer as more of us work harder, longer hours. Most adults don't have a productivity problem—they have a joy problem. Somewhere between responsibilities, careers, parenting, and achievement, many people abandon happiness, that playful, curious version of themselves that once came naturally. Do we build better habits at the sake of losing our joy? Improv comedian, speaker, and workplace culture expert Erin Diehl argues that play is far more than entertainment—it's a gateway to resilience, creativity, authentic leadership, self-love, and deeper human connection. Through powerful stories about burnout, post-concussion recovery, IVF heartbreak, motherhood, and rebuilding her life around joy instead of achievement, Erin shares how learning to surrender control, develop happiness as a skill, embrace uncertainty, and intentionally create space for fun transformed both her personal life and business. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, overly serious, or stuck in constant productivity mode, this conversation offers a practical and deeply human reminder that joy isn't a reward for success—it might actually be the path to it. Esther breaks down the gut-liver-hormone axis, explains why 70% of women aren't detoxing their hormones properly, and makes the case for eating more — not less — in midlife. Plus: testosterone as the missing menopause hormone, why carbs at dinner might be the key to sleeping through the night, and why the zero F's era is the best-kept secret of menopause.
