Today on Rumble, Michael talks with Mickey Huff and Andy Lee Roth of Project Censored, an organization who, since 1976, has each year compiled a list of stories ignored or covered up by the corporate media. They also act as advocates for journalists and those who must fight to bring us the truth. **** Learn more about Project Censored's vital work at www.projectcensored.org Buy Project Censored's "The State of the Free Press 2022" here And listen to Mickey's radio show/podcast "The Project Censored Show" ***** Read Michael's Substack letter about what we can do to Free Leonard Peltier, and contact President Biden urging he grant Peltier clemency. Also, Michael started off Black History Month by sharing one of the songs on his Pandemic Playlist, the 2016 hip-hop hit "White Privilege II," by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, featuring Jamila Woods. It's a complicated, audacious track that wrestles with our (white people's) own white privilege and complicity in an America that is not equal for everyone. Read his comments here (which include a chance meeting with Chris Rock). ***** Music: Pink Floyd - "Us and Them" ***** Sign-up for Michael Moore's FREE email list at MichaelMoore.com A full transcript of this episode will be available shortly after release on our website. ***** Underwriters: 1) Anchor.fm makes it possible for our podcast to stay independent, and it can help you start your own. Melanin levels define levels of allowed hypocrisy in a country that claims to be one nation under God. What mood were you in before/after the song? Frustrated and agitated but overjoyed by #GEORGIA! Would you be willing to Karaoke or sing-a-long? I am Vocal on this episode! Please specify the lyrics that motivated you: All of them. However, if you could please watch the videos... Here's Macklemore's White Privilege II Pulled into the parking lot, parked it Zipped up my parka, joined the procession of marchers In my head like, "is this awkward? Should I even be here marching?" Thinking if they can't, how can I breathe? Thinking that they chant, what do I sing? I want to take a stance 'cause we are not free And then I thought about it, we are not "we" Am I in the outside looking in, or am I in the inside looking out? Is it my place to give my two cents? Or should I stand on the side and shut my mouth? "No justice, no peace, " okay, I'm saying that They're chanting out, "black lives matter, " but I don't say it back Is it okay for me to say? I don't know, so I watch and stand In front of a line of police that look the same as me Only separated by a badge, a baton, a can of Mace, a mask A shield, a gun with gloves and hands that gives an alibi In case somebody dies behind a bullet that flies out of the nine Takes another child's life on sight Blood in the streets, no justice, no peace No racist beliefs, no rest 'til we're free There's blood in the streets, no justice, no peace No racist beliefs, no rest 'til we're free Damn, a lot of opinions, a lot of confusion, a lot of resentment Some of us scared, some of us defensive And most of us aren't even paying attention It seems like we're more concerned with being called racist Then we actually are with racism We want to dress like, walk like, talk like, dance like, yet we just stand by We take all we want from black culture, but will we show up for black lives? We want to dress like, walk like, talk like, dance like, yet we just stand by We take all we want from black culture, but will we show up for black lives? The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We'll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS The eastern United States needed the past seven days dig out from the Snowzilla blizzard - as if we needed extra whiteness. Nate Parker's biopic on freedom fighter Nat Turner lit up the 2015 Sundance Film Festival; Fox Searchlight doled out $17.5 million for the highly acclaimed production. Speaking of blacks who were killed, the trial in the 2014 shooting death of Akai Gurley began this week in New York City. Non-white (Asian) officer Peter Liang faces manslaughter charges for killing the unarmed black male in 2014; if convicted he could face up to 15 years behind bars. On the opposite side of the country, the White Terrorist confrontation in Oregon climaxed with multiple arrests and one fatality as enforcement officials killed Robert Finicum. Some of the armed White thugs remain entrenched on the federal property, despite pleas from their detained White comrades that they surrender. And the pacific northwest's own Macklemore released his ode to "anti-racism," "White Privilege II." Whitefolks are much more comfortable - and benefit - from describing terrorism and total war on black people as a "privilege." #RacismIsNotAPrivilege INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
