How would people describe you? Let's make this interesting. If they were to select two adjectives to describe you, which words do you think them might choose? On the surface, hearing Jesus described as "the power of God and the wisdom of God" may not seem very personal. You may be thinking, “How about words like compassionate or loving? What about adjectives like patient or kind?” However, when it comes to our Savior, take a look at how He has revealed His power and wisdom. It tells you a lot about his love and compassion for you, His patience and kindness.

In 2025 we've got more tools than ever before to help us understand the Bible. More tools to help us share our faith effectively. Surveys to help us discover our spiritual gifts, our love languages-- you name it, we've got a tool for it. In order for any one of those tools to do anything, they need power. Where does that power come from? According to Paul's letter to the Corinthians, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. But how do we receive that power and that wisdom on an ongoing basis? This week we'll unpack a part of that letter to discover how God the Holy Spirit is the power we need every day.

5/18/2025 Proverbs 2:10-22 Jesus Christ The Wisdom Of God Intro: Ephesians 3:9-11 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God, The power of God, the love of God and the glory of God. Jesus Christ is the answer to every question. The reason for life and the purpose of our life and Life itself! If you don't understand that then you don't really understand true wisdom.
In this sermon from 1 Corinthians 2, Pastor Dorrell emphasizes the distinction between worldly wisdom and the transformative wisdom provided by the Holy Spirit. Highlighting Paul's intentional reliance on the simplicity and power of the gospel, he challenges believers to abandon worldly ways of thinking and instead operate with humility, discernment, and spiritual maturity. Listeners are reminded that true understanding and growth come not from human intellect but through the Spirit's guidance, equipping believers to live faithfully and effectively share the gospel.Eastland is a Place to Belong Eastland Baptist Church is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A TEACHING ON HOW TO ACCESS GODLY WISDOM. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPAL THING AND SO WE SHOULD SEEK WISDOM FROM GOD.....LISTEN AND BE BLESSED
In the 22nd message of our "Unveiling Yahweh" series, we will be looking at the Wisdom of God. Man's wisdom and God's wisdom couldn't be more different from one another. We see wisdom as simply intellect, but God's wisdom is a life of goodness and righteousness – two things which we, in our sinful state, desperately need. Thankfully, God provided the way to come into this kind of wisdom: through the Cross of Jesus Christ. In today's sermon, we dive deep into the wisdom of the Cross as revealed in 1 Corinthians 1. Because of Jesus's blood and His work on the cross, the cross has become a worldwide symbol of hope and God's love. Time is measured by the cross and divided into B.C. (Before Christ) and A.D. (Anno Domini, Latin for "In the Year of Our Lord"). In the new series, "The Cross," Duane Sheriff explores the mystery of the cross and how Jesus' sacrifice transforms our identity, freeing us from sin, legalism, addictions, and worldly influences. According to 1 Corinthians 1, the message of the cross may appear foolish to the world, but for those who believe, it is the power and wisdom of God. In this episode, Duane shares his testimony of experiencing an open vision in which he saw himself united with Jesus during His crucifixion and resurrection.Click for FREE offer ➡️https://pastorduane.com/the-cross/
We look for wisdom in many places; our friends, philosophers, or even self-help books. But Scripture tells us that the wisdom of God is far beyond the wisdom of man. In fact, our wisdom is foolishness in comparison. In response, we should worship our wise God and get our wisdom from him. 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 (NKJV)18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Jesus Christ is wisdom of God, revealed in the folly of the cross.
Pastor Dan discusses the hidden wisdom of God and how it has shaped historical and spiritual narratives. He explores the profound transformation brought about by Christ's birth, death, and resurrection. The message reveals how, like post-Civil War America, we live in the aftermath of Christ's cosmic triumph, often unaware of the grand plan unfolding in our midst. Through Paul's words to the Corinthians, we grasp the secret wisdom of God, decreed for our glory, which transcends the understanding of the rulers of this age. This wisdom is unveiled by the Holy Spirit, offering us divine insight that surpasses human comprehension. The episode intricately connects ancient biblical stories with the ongoing spiritual journey, illustrating how God's plan is slowly restoring Eden's boundaries. Listeners are invited to recognize their role as kingdom citizens, tasked with expanding the kingdom of Christ while overcoming the forces of darkness through divine wisdom and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

The True Wisdom of God - Part 1 - 1 Corinthians 2:6-8
In this message from 1 Corinthians 1:18-31, Paul contrasts the world's perceived foolishness of the cross with the true wisdom and power of God, emphasizing that human wisdom cannot comprehend God's plan of salvation. We will study that God chose what is considered weak and foolish by the world to shame the wise and strong, demonstrating that true wisdom and righteousness come from God through Christ.
Man left to his own imagination and "wisdom" explains that "the origin of everything is the result of random chance." In contrast the wisdom of God is displayed in His creation, and revealed in His Word. We discuss what "Wisdom" says in Proverbs chapter 8.
