Humanity demands that there is a cost to be paid for freedom. History testifies that many wars have tried to be justified as paying that cost. Freedom, true freedom as defined by the Eternal One cannot be seized by force. For it is a freedom that transcends both the physical and spiritual realm. Send The Parable Podcast a TextWe are at the start of the summer season and we are taking three weeks off from our regularly scheduled episodes. However, you won't be left empty-handed. I wanted to give you a little bit encouragement over the next few weeks with just some thoughts as you walk into summer. Sometimes when seasons change we kind of look at our life and we wonder where we've been, where we're going. Hope you enjoy.Psalm 139:1-14 | O Eternal One, You have explored my heart and know exactly who I am; You even know the small details like when I take a seat and when I stand up again. Even when I am far away, You know what I'm thinking. You observe my wanderings and my sleeping, my waking and my dreaming, and You know everything I do in more detail than even I know. You know what I'm going to say long before I say it. It is true, Eternal One, that You know everything and everyone. You have surrounded me on every side, behind me and before me, and You have placed Your hand gently on my shoulder. It is the most amazing feeling to know how deeply You know me, inside and out; the realization of it is so great that I cannot comprehend it. Can I go anywhere apart from Your Spirit? Is there anywhere I can go to escape Your watchful presence? If I go up into heaven, You are there. If I make my bed in the realm of the dead, You are there. If I ride on the wings of morning, if I make my home in the most isolated part of the ocean,Even then You will be there to guide me; Your right hand will embrace me, for You are always there.Even if I am afraid and think to myself, “There is no doubt that the darkness will swallow me, the light around me will soon be turned to night,”You can see in the dark, for it is not dark to Your eyes. For You the night is just as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same to Your eyes. For You shaped me, inside and out. You knitted me together in my mother's womb long before I took my first breath.I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe.Want to Enhance Your Conversations? Before you go, could you do me a  favor and take my Listener Survey and then in doing so I will send you, "10 basic Tips to Enhance Your Conversations." Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla – May 18, 2025“Eternity in Our Hearts” – Ecclesiastes 3:9–15 (ESV)What does it all mean? Why do we labor and strive? In today's devotion, Pastor Balla reflects on Solomon's profound words: “He has put eternity into man's heart.” We are made for more than fleeting accomplishments—God has placed within us a longing for what endures.Though we cannot see the full picture of God's eternal plan, we are invited to live each day in joy and reverence. Our work, our rest, and even our longing for more—all find meaning in Christ, the Eternal One who entered time for our salvation. What God does endures forever. Our task is not to grasp everything, but to receive each moment as a gift and to trust the One who holds all things in His hands. Yogi Berra was famous for being one of the best catchers for the New York Yankee's. But what he's most famous for are his humorously ironic aphorisms, like: "A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore", or "It's like deja-vu all over again", and this one about the future: "It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future." Ol' Yogi ... he always had 'em rollin' in the aisles! But he's right about how we can feel unsure about the future. In fact, in a 2022 poll, half responded that over the next 12 months, they were worried about the direction of our country, and 1/4 had little hope for the future. Strange because it had not even happened yet! What's important to know is that God takes our future very seriously. The Eternal One, who invented time, and is the only one outside of time, told us: "Don't be anxious about anything." If he sees everything and isn't worried - why should we? And yet we can't help it! This is the topic of this week's podcast! Don't miss Sean and Nate's discussion! ▶️ Nate's Message on YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/ytp4e3df

With his sights focused on becoming a respected top-ten world-class table tennis player, the Almighty, Eternal One of Israel, got ahold of his life and redirected his dream. Instead of going for the Olympic gold in Table Tennis, Yosef came to be a well-known and respected trainer for the paraplegic Christina Hoffman, who, in fact, did go on to become Mexico's world-class table tennis national champion. But this is just the beginning of the story about Yosef Sanchez. Today, he leads a Spanish-language Messianic ministry in Cancun, Mexico. Indeed, his spiritual life's journey is engaging, taking him from world-class Table Tennis to world-class biblical research and Spanish language Messianic leadership.  On today's program, we begin an in-depth study of John's gospel. When asked what a good book in the bible to read for a new believer, many bible scholars recommend the gospel of John. It offers a first hand account of the life of Jesus. Interestingly, John does not give an account of the birth of Jesus, but as Jesus began His ministry, John was right there, all the way through to the Lord's crucifixion and resurrection.

Psalm 90 - Speaker: Jared Jenkins - We come face-to-face with our own mortality at different points in life. Whether it's at the graveside of a loved one, at a college graduation, or at the wedding of a child, there are moments when we are confronted by one simple fact: life is passing away. In Psalm 90, Moses helps us wrestle with the reality of our mortality. He then looks to God as his "dwelling place" and as the Eternal One to help us consider how we should depend on him.

From moments of lamenting to moments of celebration and every 'moment' of God knitting us together in our own mother's womb, His plan has always been to include us. You, Eternal One, are my sustenance and my life-giving cup. In that cup, You hold my future and my eternal riches. My home is surrounded in beauty;    You have gifted me with abundance and a rich legacy. I will bless the Eternal, whose wise teaching orchestrates my days and centers my mind at night. He is ever present with me;    at all times He goes before me.I will not live in fear or abandon my calling    because He stands at my right hand. This is a good life—my heart is glad, my soul is full of joy,    and my body is at rest.    Who could want for more?  You will not abandon me to experience death and the grave    or leave me to rot alone. Instead, You direct me on the path that leads to a beautiful life.    As I walk with You, the pleasures are never-ending,    and I know true joy and contentment. We are reminded of the sacred oath that humans have taken, by housing the Divine Light within our bodies. The combination of both in one, is insan, who struggle to reconcile these two realities. The only way to reconcile this turmoil, is to dissolve oneself and transcend to the Ultimate Light. The nature of the mind is to blame and claim innocence. Its shadowy nature will always try to justify its existence. Once embedded with emotions- there is havoc. Restrict its work to outer world tasks, rather than the ego's desires for fame, glory and validation, amongst other expectations. The way to resolve the conundrum is to release yourself, your neck from the suffocation of your illusions and to give nourishment to those who are destitute, in whatever way is appropriate. Each one of us are orphans (yateem) and destitutes (fakir) asking for compassion, and the Qur'an has many examples referring to mankind as such. Since we are in the zone of duality, one aspect of us tries to reach for Divine Attributes like Generosity, Kindness, Clemency, rendering our body, our balad (city), as healthy as possible, if not, we will find ourselves filled with anger and suspicion, and other poisons-causing all sorts of depressions. The key to our contentment is that our loyalty should always be to the One and only boundless and Eternal One along with the practice of all blessings being attributed to the One who has provided them, failing which, we will reach a disastrous end. Translation by Shakir: I do call to witness this City;- And thou art a freeman of this City;- And (the mystic ties of) parent and child;- Verily We have created man into toil and struggle. Thinketh he, that none hath power over him? He may say (boastfully); Wealth have I squandered in abundance! Thinketh he that none beholdeth him? Have We not made for him a pair of eyes?- And a tongue, and a pair of lips?- And shown him the two highways? But he hath made no haste on the path that is steep. And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?- (It is:) freeing the bondman; Or the giving of food in a day of privation To the orphan with claims of relationship, Or to the indigent (down) in the dust. Then will he be of those who believe, and enjoin patience, (constancy, and self-restraint), and enjoin deeds of kindness and compassion. Such are the Companions of the Right Hand. But those who reject Our Signs, they are the (unhappy) Companions of the Left Hand. On them will be Fire vaulted over (all round). --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shaykh-fadhlalla-haeri/message

Following on from last week's episode we will continue on through the wilderness journey with the Eternal One and the Ancient Israelites. After the Eternal One divided the waters to create a pathway to freedom for the Ancient Israelites, they journeyed to the wilderness of Shur. It was there that the Eternal One turned bitter waters of death into sweet waters of life. The Ancient Israelites continued their journey to another part of the wilderness. To a part of the wilderness called the Wilderness of Sin. Let us go back in time. To a time when the Egyptians were the world super power. The Ancient Israelites were slaves to the Egyptians. They were held captive under the might of the Egyptians and the Egyptian gods. The Ancient Israelites were unable to worship the Eternal One. They cried out to the Eternal One and asked for deliverance from captivity. The Eternal One heard their cries and  saw their hardship. So He personally stepped down into the darkness of humanity, to deliver them. The Eternal One is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the same God. Through the miracles of the wilderness journey, we will discover some of the incredible aspects of the Eternal One.  Throughout history, humanity has searched for the heart of worship. Trapped in the condemnation of the heart and the lies of the evil one and ultimate death, humanity continued to strive for enlightenment and eternal freedom. Humanity even made the incorruptible Eternal One into the likeness of corrupted humanity. However the divine nature of the Eternal One cannot be shaped or altered. For He is the Eternal, self exisiting one. The same yesterday, today and forever. Today I am sharing one of my messages for our Summer Sermon Series and there will be a few sprinkled over the course of the summer with a couple from the archives that as well.  Thanks for switching gears a bit to allow us at The Parable Podcast a little space to enjoy playing games with our kids, sipping iced coffees and relaxing on our back porch. This message was a previous message I shared at our home church of West Ridge.  I hope you enjoy this message today and it encourages you wherever you are.Message NotesIn her deep anguish, Hannah prayed to the LORD, weeping bitterly. 1 Samuel 1:10“LORD Almighty, if you will only look on your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life...” 1 Samuel 1:11 “Just because we're Christians, doesn't mean we're healthy. In the same way that our bodies can fail us physically, our minds can do the same – it's the reality of a broken world. Mental and emotional health issues still happen for those of us that call ourselves Christians." - Counselor Deborah FiletaAs she prayed silently before the Eternal One, the priest Eli watched her mouth: Hannah's lips were moving, but since she was praying silently, he could not hear her words. So Eli thought she was drunk. 1 Samuel 1:12-13“just a woman with a wounded spirit. I have been pouring out the pain in my soul before the Eternal One. 16 Please don't consider your servant some worthless woman just because I have been speaking for so long out of worry and exasperation. 1 Samuel 1:15-16What is that thorn for you?“Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.” 1 Samuel 1:17"we can have confidence in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us." 1 John 5:14   “My heart rejoices in the LORD. My strength rises up in the LORD! My mouth mocks my enemies because I rejoice in your deliverance. 2 No one is holy like the LORD—no, no one except you! There is no rock like our God! 1 Samuel 2:1-2Reflection Questions1. Are you real or are you faking it?2. Is there something you need to sacrifice this week?3. Leddy Hammock Inspired by lyrics to “The Shepherd's Song” by Sue Riley: Though I walk in deepest shadows, I will have no fear. I journey with the Shepherd, He walks beside me. With His strength he gives me courage. May His wisdom be my guide. His rod and His staff, they go before me. Surely goodness and mercy will always follow me All of the days and the nights of my life. The Lord is my Shepherd, I will have no fear Within the greenest meadows, beside the deep, cool stream, I will rest in the comfort of eternal love. My cup is overflowing, You anoint my head with oil. I am safe in Your presence, Oh, Eternal One. The Lord is my Shepherd. I will have no fear.

God was about to reveal Himself to humans in a new way. The Eternal One cannot change. But there have been a few times in history when He "came closer," to us, and we saw Him more clearly. As Jesus spoke to His disciples in the Upper Room, one of those changes was about to take place. We would soon get a glimpse of what the One God means by, "Us." We're in John, chapter 14 to complete Jim's message, The Three-in-One, Part 1. Unlocked: Daily Devotions for Teens

When I became a mental health counselor, I had no idea what to expect. What unfolded was difficult to accept... but forever changed the way I viewed others. I learned firsthand that some people who might appear “happy” in their everyday life are actually experiencing mistreatment from those they trust most..From the outside, we might never dream that others in our lives are undergoing such strife. I say this only to acknowledge that enduring a harmful situation anywhere—at home, on a sports team, or even at church—is sometimes a reality. If this reality has crept into your world, or a friend's, please seek help! Reach out to a favorite teacher, school counselor, or another trusted adult. There IS a way out, and you don't need to go it alone. Yes, it's hard to bring dark things into the light—and more than one try is sometimes required—but remember: God knows the truth. “Even the darkness will not be dark to you [God]... for darkness is as light to you” (Psalm 139:12)..Life can be unfair, unjust, and painful. However, hope and healing and restoration are also real. So, for whoever may be suffering, do not bear this heaviness alone. Jesus always calls us to carry one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2)..Moreover, Jesus knows unjust suffering too—thrust on Him by others' wrongdoing (Isaiah 53). He truly understands our pain. And though our situation may remain unexplained, God, the Eternal One, “knows the way that [we] take,” and He extends His “everlasting arms” to us (Job 23:10; Deuteronomy 33:27), creating hope where once there was none, promising us His presence, and promisingthat the world will one day be made right through His death and resurrection (Revelation 21:1-5). • G. Kam Congleton.• Read Psalm 72:14, Proverbs 11:9, and 1 Corinthians 13:4-6. God is not okay with injustice and mistreatment. If you are experiencing mistreatment—whether it be verbal, physical, sexual, or neglectful in nature—please reach out for help. In addition to telling a trusted adult, and if you don't already have a therapist, one option is to use the Focus on the Family Counseling Service. In the United States, call 1-855-771-HELP (4357) weekdays 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) to set up an appointment. In Canada, call 1-800-661-9800 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) and ask to speak with the care associate. .Even the darkness will not be dark to you... for darkness is as light to you. Psalm 139:12 (NIV)
