Listen up, tell your friends, and keep it tuned to the Wrestling Brain
This week on Comics in the Combat zone, we watched a show so bad it made us question what we were doing. It's tough to point out highlights so just listen to see what happened, and as always, keep it tuned to the Wrestling Brain
The Comics are back this week to talk one of the weirder and more disjointed offerings from CZW thus far. This week we're using a part to represent the whole and the whole to represent a part as Wrestling Brain's Josh Custodio joins us to go deep on the human condition with 2008's Synecdoche, New York, written and directed Charlie Kaufman, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Samantha Morton, Michelle Williams, Catherine Keener, Tom Noonan, Hope Davis and Dianne Wiest. Kaufman's directorial debut, coming hot on the heels of Eternal Sunshine, is at once an absurdist comedy and a devastating tragedy, with Hoffman giving what might be a career-best performance in a life that was full of great ones. Plus: losing faith in streamers, playing the same song on repeat, Jesus on the radio, movie-going as therapy, and how to get hooked on pro wrestling. Beyond the wider screenwriting resume of Charlie Kaufman, other works discussed in this episode include Annihilation, You Springin' Springsteen On My Bean?, Pokemon GO, Fishing with John, The Leftovers, Beau Is Afraid, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, Bottoms, Aquaman, Joker, The Prestige, Arrival, Children of Men, Upgrade, There Will Be Blood, Beau Travail, Napoleon Dynamite, Mad God, and Walk The Line 2: Joaq The Line. If you want to watch the movie before listening to our discussion, you will have a hard time streaming it legally. So go buy it on physical media. It's a great movie, we promise you won't regret it. And be sure to catch Josh and Zubes every Wednesday night for A-E-Double-Dudes on the Wrestling Brain channel on Twitch, those guys are the best. We'll be back next week doing lord knows what! Follow us on Twitter @ADHDDVDpod to find out.

It's a rare "BP Nights" version of the show as long-time bonus guest and first-time main episode guest Joshua Custodio (Wrestling Brain) joins the Blocked Boys to give us the inside scoop on why former WWE big man Ryback didn't just block Josh, but then immediately stole the meme he blocked him for. Once things finally do get rolling, we talk about the five-year anniversary of the Go Off Kings, John somehow talks his way into watching a Joey, and we get sent a truly cursed Jibbitz from a truly cursed Jibbitz dealer.
