In this patrons episode we begin a reading series on a book we mentioned in the last episode: ‘Resistance Through Rituals: Youth Subcultures in Post-War Britain', edited by Stuart Hall and Tony Jefferson. This collection, first published in 1975, is a classic of the cultural studies reading list, but upon revisiting it for this show Jeremy and Tim found its content extremely pertinent to the project of this podcast. So, in true LITM style, why have one episode when you can have many? As such today we embark on a deep reading of the volume, starting with the first three chapters. Jeremy and Tim give a historiography of Stuart Hall's analytic method, tying in their own journeys through the academy, before discussing three interesting UK subcultures: Teddy Boys, Mods, and Skinheads. We hear about amphetamines, ska, racism, class, big lapels, Peaky Blinders, cut-price suits and the first teenagers in this journey through mid-century Britain. Stay tuned, much more to follow next time. Tracklist: Bill Haley - Rock Around the Clock The Who - The Seeker Symarip - Skinhead Moonstomp

This episode was a fun one. Tony Jefferson was one of my favorite Ravens players during his tenure as the Ravens starting strong safety. He was one of many enforcers playing that position on the defense in our storied franchise history. “TJeff” took some time out of his busy family life to sit down and talk about his experience in Baltimore on and off the field as well as his internship as a scout for the organization this past season.

Shaun Morash and Paul Dottino are back in following the flurry of waiver claims and roster moves for Big Blue! With a distant timeline for Shane Lemieux's return from injury, Joe Schoen added Jack Anderson, a young interior lineman that Paul can't rule out starting the season for the Giants. The addition of DB Jason Pinnock, along with the arrival of veteran Tony Jefferson confirms a secondary in much need of depth as well as a desire to not put rookie Dane Belton in over his head too early. Shaun and Paul may agree that the roster can still see more changes, however things get a little contentous when Paul calls Wan'Dale Robinson a contingency play for Ladarius Toney. Shaun also brings up the cap space sized elephant in the room, which may require an extension for Leonard Williams, a not-so-terrible path to ca relief for the Giants. Locked On Steelers – Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Steelers
Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers fielded several calls from other NFL teams about quarterback Mason Rudolph for trade interests. However, Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan aren't interested in moving their 5th year quarterback unless it's for the right price. The Former Baltimore Ravens Safety is making a Return!!!
Welcome to the first official episode of the Jewish Currents podcast, On the Nose. After a brief conversation about the show's title, editor-in-chief Arielle Angel, publisher Jacob Plitman, managing editor Nathan Goldman, and assistant editor Mari Cohen discuss the Anti-Defamation League's https://www.adl.org/blog/survey-of-american-jews-since-recent-violence-in-israel (recent survey) of American Jews about their perceptions and understanding of antisemitism, in the wake of a https://www.adl.org/news/press-releases/preliminary-adl-data-reveals-uptick-in-antisemitic-incidents-linked-to-recent (reported) “uptick in antisemitic incidents.” We discuss what it means that the survey suggests American Jews widely conflate anti-Zionism and certain criticisms of Israel with antisemitism. What's the relationship between claims of antisemitism and feelings of discomfort? How does this misunderstanding relate to the left's thinking about the authority of subjective experience and the politics of feelings? What can Jewish identity politics teach us about the power and limits of identity politics writ large?
