Daily Boost Podcast Show Notes Design Your Perfect Day: No Rules, No Limitations April 17, 2025 | Episode 5,074 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Have you ever wondered what makes a truly great day? In this episode, Scott challenges the notion that we need extraordinary days to be happy. Instead, he introduces his time-tested "Average Perfect Day" concept - a decisive mindset shift that could transform your approach to daily happiness. It's not about chasing rainbows and unicorns; it's about finding contentment in the present while still pursuing your dreams. Featured Story Scott shares his conversation with a coaching client that sparked a profound realization. At the end of the day, what we're all searching for isn't necessarily extraordinary experiences but that peaceful feeling that "life is pretty good." The Average Perfect Day concept, which Scott originated in 2006, offers a practical framework for designing days that consistently bring you joy and satisfaction. It's about making your days "pretty good" on average, which leads to an extraordinary life. Key Takeaways Your subconscious mind is designed to guide you toward what's best for you, but it needs clear direction on what you want. Creating an Average Perfect Day requires removing all rules, limitations, and perceived consequences when envisioning your ideal day. What you focus on expands, so shift your attention from what you don't want to what you truly desire daily. Memorable Quotes "If you could, on average, have every day being pretty good - an Average Perfect Day - and you do that for the entire course of your life, wouldn't that be pretty cool?" "Imagination is where it all begins. When you begin to imagine, your subconscious mind says, 'Oh, that's what you want! Why don't I go out and help you get it?'" "If you're focused on what you don't want, you must get that out of your life. You're just going to get more of it." Scott's Three-Step Approach I'd like you to please write down a detailed vision of your perfect day, event by event, without limitations or perceived consequences. Consciously believe you deserve this Average Perfect Day and can truly be yours. Allow your subconscious mind to work on attracting these elements into your life by focusing on what you want. We talk about building a brand that feels more like an extension of self than a fashion label. Suhail opens up about his creative process, his unfiltered approach to style, and how Garuda SS became an international force with its own unapologetic voice. This isn't your average fashion chat it's a conversation about making art you can wear. Tune in and get inspired.

We have no show outline for this one so we turn to an old form of entertainment: asking the Magic 8 Ball. Also: What modern TV show would make a good retro video game? Can we name all the Jersey Shore characters? And which one of them would you want to have at your sleep over? Can the Magic 8 ball predict death? No sports short in this one but a rare "Sports Q&A." It's all fitting nonsense for our 50th episode! Much like Outback this one is no rules, just right!

That's the focus of the latest Redefining Cybersecurity podcast episode, where host Sean Martin speaks with Jake Braun, former Acting Principal Deputy National Cyber Director at the White House and current Executive Director of the Cyber Policy Initiative at the University of Chicago.Braun discusses The Hackers' Almanack, a project developed in partnership with DEF CON and the Franklin Project to document key cybersecurity findings that policymakers, industry leaders, and technologists should be aware of. This initiative captures some of the most pressing security challenges emerging from DEF CON's research community and translates them into actionable insights that could drive meaningful policy change.DEF CON, The Hackers' Almanack, and the Franklin ProjectDEF CON, one of the world's largest hacker conferences, brings together tens of thousands of security researchers each year. While the event is known for its groundbreaking technical discoveries, Braun explains that too often, these findings fail to make their way into the hands of policymakers who need them most. That's why The Hackers' Almanack was created—to serve as a bridge between the security research community and decision-makers who shape regulations and national security strategies. This effort is an extension of the Franklin Project, named after Benjamin Franklin, who embodied the intersection of science and civics. The initiative includes not only The Hackers' Almanack but also a volunteer-driven cybersecurity support network for under-resourced water utilities, a critical infrastructure sector under increasing attack.Ransomware: Hackers Filling the Gaps Where Governments Have StruggledOne of the most striking sections of The Hackers' Almanack examines the state of ransomware. Despite significant government efforts to disrupt ransomware groups, attacks remain as damaging as ever. Braun highlights the work of security researcher Vangelis Stykas, who successfully infiltrated ransomware gangs—not to attack them, but to gather intelligence and warn potential victims before they were hit. While governments have long opposed private-sector hacking in retaliation against cybercriminals, Braun raises an important question: Should independent security researchers be allowed to operate in this space if they can help prevent attacks? This isn't just about hacktivism—it's about whether traditional methods of law enforcement and national security are enough to combat the ransomware crisis.AI Security: No Standards, No Rules, Just ChaosArtificial intelligence is dominating conversations in cybersecurity, but according to Braun, the industry still hasn't figured out how to secure AI effectively. DEF CON's AI Village, which has been studying AI security for years, made a bold statement: AI red teaming, as it exists today, lacks clear definitions and standards. Companies are selling AI security assessments with no universally accepted benchmarks, leaving buyers to wonder what they're really getting.Braun argues that industry leaders, academia, and government must quickly come together to define what AI security actually means. Are we testing AI applications? The algorithms? The data sets? Without clarity, AI red teaming risks becoming little more than a marketing term, rather than a meaningful security practice.Biohacking: The Blurry Line Between Innovation and BioterrorismPerhaps the most controversial section of The Hackers' Almanack explores biohacking and its potential risks. Researchers at the Four Thieves Vinegar Collective demonstrated how AI and 3D printing could allow individuals to manufacture vaccines and medical devices at home—at a fraction of the cost of commercial options. While this raises exciting possibilities for healthcare accessibility, it also raises serious regulatory and ethical concerns.Current laws classify unauthorized vaccine production as bioterrorism, but Braun questions whether that definition should evolve. If underserved communities have no access to life-saving treatments, should they be allowed to manufacture their own? And if so, how can regulators ensure safety without stifling innovation?A Call to ActionThe Hackers' Almanack isn't just a technical report—it's a call for governments, industry leaders, and the security community to rethink how we approach cybersecurity, technology policy, and even healthcare. Braun and his team at the Franklin Project are actively recruiting volunteers, particularly those with cybersecurity expertise, to help protect vulnerable infrastructure like water utilities. For policymakers, the message is clear: Pay attention to what the hacker community is discovering. These findings aren't theoretical—they impact national security, public safety, and technological advancement in ways that require immediate action.Want to learn more? These people came to listen to him and to be healed of their diseases. 18 Those who were troubled by unclean spirits were also cured. 19 The whole crowd kept trying to touch him, because power was going out from him and healing them all. Blessings and Woes 20 He lifted up his eyes to his disciples and said: Blessed are you who are poor, because yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are you who hunger now, because you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, because you will laugh. 22 Blessed are you whenever people hate you, and whenever they exclude and insult you and reject your name as evil because of the Son of Man. 23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy because of this: Your reward is great in heaven! The fact is, their fathers constantly did the same things to the prophets.” 24 But woe to you who are rich, because you are receiving your comfort now. 25 Woe to you who are well fed now, because you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, because you will be mourning and weeping. 26 Woe to you when all people speak well of you, because that is how their fathers constantly treated the false prophets. Matt, Joe, and Liz were joined by Cory this week, and all four were more than ready to chat about Player Housing in WoW, which we recently got to see for the first time. There are still a lot of question marks after this first overview, but the team is excited about the information we do have, from Neighborhoods to decor (like a tower of bones, for instance!) to lack of repo men poised to take your house away if you default on your wizard mortgage. However, before anyone joins our Neighborhoods, there may be some rules to discuss (like no towers of bones, for instance!).But, in the more immediate future is patch 11.1, which is coming out February 25. The car sounds incredibly cool, but of more importance is Brann Bronzebeard's continued Delving and his dedication to fancy hats. After all, transmog is endgame, even for NPCs. There's also the potential of a Diablo roadmap, and Warcraft Rumble and Diablo Immortal both have what seem like their own neat holidays going on... for as much as we play them. The crew got so carried away there wasn't even enough time for questions, but we do appreciate you asking them. We'll save them for next week. Hosted on Acast. All those CEOs cartwheeled down to Mar-a-Lago and then dutifully lined up at Trump's inauguration because they were fed up with social justice warriors and labor having more power—even if their bottom lines were never harmed in the process. Now, they want their next adrenaline rush and more government money without any pesky regulations hampering their highfalutin space-exploration dreams. But they may just pine for those DEI training sessions after the coming populist economic backlash. Stephanie Ruhle joins Tim Miller.
Have you ever been told that you HAVE to get a perfect, drag-free drift if you want to catch fish on dry flies? What about the need to keep your rod tip sky-high when you're fighting a fish? Or that you'll catch big fish if you're using big flies? These may sound like they're rules, but there are actually NO RULES in fly fishing. There are only guidelines, and just a few at that. On this episode of Untangled, you'll learn about some of the "rules" in fly fishing, and WHY and WHEN you should break them. Hi there Beautiful, What if there are no rules? What if every rule is made up? trust your own creative process. follow your own intuition. I tried Julia Cameron's Morning Pages in The Artist's Way, and it no longer works for me. I thought I was a failure, but then I gave myself permission to trust my own process and follow my own creative intuition. Could following the rules be killing your creativity? much love, joy and peace, Alecia
By the time Toni Bergins reached grad school, her life felt like chaos. Beneath the surface, she was grappling with the lingering effects of childhood trauma, which manifested in body image struggles, disordered eating, and self-destructive behaviors. She became consumed by exercise and dieting, using alcohol as a coping mechanism. Then, one day, Toni took a dance class—unlike any other. There was no choreography, no rules. As she ran freely around the room, Toni felt like a child again. She broke down, crying, unraveling—but she had loved every moment of it. This was Toni's introduction to embodied movement—a form of raw, primal dance that encourages women to fully inhabit their bodies and embrace every emotion. Today, embodied movement is helping countless women heal from their trauma.Toni Bergins is the creator of JourneyDance, a form of embodied movement which is helping women transform their lives.
