This quarter's CEOBarometer spotlights subdued trading conditions, faltering investment flows, and the selective rise of AI. Organic growth has slowed across the board—Software companies posted 13% growth, while ICT Services lagged at 7%. The deceleration is sharpest in consulting services, where low recurring revenue and discretionary budget cuts have driven many businesses into stagnation. In contrast, recurring revenue models continue to provide resilience in Software, where growth has largely stabilised at pre-COVID levels. Despite these challenges, standout performers in areas like cybersecurity and defence—such as Bridewell, DIGI2AL, and FSP—are still delivering strong double-digit growth, proving that execution and sector positioning remain critical. The investment landscape also reflects mounting caution. UK-listed tech valuations have dipped below 10x EV/EBITDA, IPO activity remains stalled, and private equity deal volumes have halved year-on-year. Meanwhile rising debt levels and cash interest payments continue to cause stress for some. While top-tier software firms continue to command strong multiples, ICT Services valuations—particularly in consulting—have seen a significant reset. Venture funding tells a two-speed story: capital remains available for late-stage, AI-native businesses such as Quantexa and Luminance, but pre-Series A funding has collapsed, narrowing the pipeline for future investment. As the sector recalibrates, this episode offers critical insights into where growth is holding up, where confidence is fading, and what tech leaders need to consider as they navigate another year of cautious optimism and selective momentum. About this podcast Our quarterly podcast offers a clear, strategic perspective on the forces shaping the UK tech sector—M&A, capital flows, valuations, AI, and more. Hosted by Megabuyte's Founder & Chairman, Ian Spence, and Megabuyte's Head of Research & Consulting, Neel Arampatta, the CEOBarometer is designed for CxOs of scale-ups and mid-market companies who value depth over noise. All men and women—married and unmarried—must follow the Holy Spirit into all that is true in this world, from the small talk around the coffeepot to the great silence of the Holy Eucharist. Host Anthony Desiato and guest Nick Farina dig into the 1987 film SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE, the oft-maligned and infamously low-budget effort from producer The Cannon Group and director Sidney J. Furie. In Christopher Reeve's final outing as Superman, our hero seeks to rid the world of its nuclear arsenal and faces opposition from Lex Luthor and his creation, Nuclear Man.View Aaron Price's restoration of select scenes on YouTube here.Listen to Digging for Kryptonite's 2022 discussion of the SUPERGIRL movie here.Support the show and receive exclusive podcast content at Patreon.com/AnthonyDesiato, including the spinoff podcasts BEYOND METROPOLIS and DIGGING FOR JUSTICE!Visit BCW Supplies and use promo code FSP to save 10% on your next order of comics supplies. My guest for the month of December in the monthly series called "What Are the Sisters Reading?" is from the Daughters of Saint Paul. Sister Emily Beata Marsh, FSP, shares from an encyclical by Pope Benedict XVI called Spe Salvi (“Saved in Hope”). I also reflect about a book Called “Life of Christ” by Archbishop Fulton Sheen.    Here are the book recommendations by other sisters from the Daughters of Saint Paul:  Sister Julia: "The Reed of God" by Caryll Houselander  Sister Bethany: "Come, Lord Jesus: Meditations on the Art of Waiting" by Mother Mary Francis To check out more books on the Catholic faith and religious items of interest at the Pauline Books and Media Center at 1025 King Street in Alexandria, please click here.

Host Anthony Desiato and guest Zach Moore (Always Hold On To Smallville) dig into the 1983 film SUPERMAN III from director Richard Lester, which featured comedian Richard Pryor as Gus Gorman, brought Christopher Reeve's Clark back to Smallville for a reunion with Lana Lang (Annette O'Toole), and saw our hero's good and evil sides battle it out in one of the franchise's most iconic scenes.Support the show and receive exclusive podcast content at Patreon.com/AnthonyDesiato, including the spinoff podcasts BEYOND METROPOLIS and DIGGING FOR JUSTICE!Visit BCW Supplies and use promo code FSP to save 10% on your next order of comics supplies. Digging for Kryptonite: A Superman Fan Journey

Host Anthony Desiato and guest Dan Greenfield (13th Dimension) dig into the 1980 film SUPERMAN II, a beloved entry in the franchise despite — or perhaps because of? — being the product of two directors' visions. A combination of original director Richard Donner's more grounded, earnest approach and replacement Richard Lester's campier leanings, the movie follows Christopher Reeve's Superman as he relinquishes his powers to begin a romance with Lois Lane (Margot Kidder)...just as Kryptonian trio of Zod, Non, and Ursa escape the Phantom Zone. The specific focus of this episode is the official theatrical cut, though Anthony and Dan do discuss the long-fabled Donner Cut, which was finally released in 2006 — and offer their final word on what the "best" version of SUPERMAN II truly is.Support the show and receive exclusive podcast content at Patreon.com/AnthonyDesiato, including the spinoff podcasts BEYOND METROPOLIS and DIGGING FOR JUSTICE!Visit BCW Supplies and use promo code FSP to save 10% on your next order of comics supplies. If there's one takeaway from looking at the best shooting guards in the league, it's this: the NBA is moving more toward shifting the best players to point guard. Most of the All-Star guards fall into this category even if they play PG or Shooting Guard.  The 2024 NBA Top 7 Pool Desmond Bane, Memphis Grizzlies RJ Barrett, Toronto Raptors Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves Jalen Green, Houston Rockets Kyrie Irving, Dallas Mavs CJ McCollum, New Orleans Pelicans Jordan Poole, Washington Wizards Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavs Devin Vassell, SA Spurs Coby White, Chicago Bulls Derrick White, Boston Celtics This list is strictly related to their 2023-24 stats/ performance and who has the best chance of maintaining their great play throughout the rest of the current season.  Check out Episode #539 as @JaiHov , @JEasley84 , @Lock_Tha_Great and @FSP_Wezzy moving on to Part 4 of our annual top 7 series with the SHOOTING GUARDS #FSPSTYLE **Full Sport Press Episode #539 Breakdown** 00:00-Intro 8:30-Weezy's Yellow Box of Cereal Award: Miami Heat's Dwayne Wade Sculpture 11:05- 1st Half Intro 11:55 -FSP Fantasy Football Breakdown 13:50 -Weezy's NFL Rankings 15:00- FSP's WHO HE PLAY FOR!
