The North West Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs says eight (8) of the province's 22 municipalities are under mandatory intervention in terms of Section 139 of the Municipal Finance Management Act due to poor financial management. These municipalities are the Ditsobotla, Kgetlengrivier, Madibeng, Ramotshere Moiloa, Tswaing, Maquassi Hills and Naledi Local Municipalities as well as the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality. However, the Department says much more work still needs to be done in the beleaguered Ditsobotla Local Municipality as all interventions in the municipality have continued to be met with resistance including criminal behaviour such as kidnapping and taking people hostage. In today's heartfelt installment, I sit down with my husband of 14 years to reflect on his vibrant childhood and the choices he made in his younger years that led him away from his relationship with God. He has faced the difficult journey of drug addiction which led him to being a missionary at the age of 17 at an organization called Youth For Christ in Cape Town. Over the next few years, he wrestles with issues of identity, belonging, and the challenges of receiving love and dealing with rejection. As he shares his story, he emphasizes that the strength to navigate these challenges comes from his faith in God.
This podcast episode is a girls chat between two women born in two generations, the type of chat with a friend over popcorn and face masks. We speak about love, careers, motherhood, pressures that stem from being a pioneer if you're from poverty and more. We unpack these from our perspectives on what we've learned and how some experiences shaped our life decisions.
Relebogile is in conversation with accomplished actress and television presenter Lerato Mvelase to reflect on life's challenges, the transformative journey that has shaped her, and the path to becoming an extraordinary artist and celebrating 26 years in the industry.

Social impact bonds are a complex concept. But this episode tries to break it down and shares a success story. The key to social impact bonds is that the service providers only get paid if the project goes well — an incentive for excellent delivery. Lerato Lehoko is the former managing director of Bonds4Jobs, a financial intermediary that implemented the first social impact bond in South Africa. In this episode Lerato explains how the private investment group Yellowwoods and the nonprofit Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator successfully set up the Inclusive Youth Employment Bond. What happens to your identity as a black South African when you no longer live within the socioeconomic or political or even the cultural norms and criminal violence that defines so much of who we believe we are? If you are a black South African who is or has been living abroad for some time how do you define who you are? To get some perspective on this I spoke to a few South Africans who are currently living in other countries to try to understand what their lived experience has been in how being away affects how they see and engage with their sense of identity. I figured that this topic would need more than one person and also cannot be tackled from a strictly spiritual perspective so it will be a mini-series talking to different people from different countries. The first person I will be talking to is Lerato Shadi. Lerato Shadi is a visual and performance artist whose work challenges common assumptions to critique Western notions of history and make visible that which is invisible or overlooked. She works across video, performance, and installations. Lerato was Born in Mahikeng, South Africa and now lives and works in Berlin, Germany.

In this week's podcast I am interviewing another #MoneyMagic student, Lerato Molisana, who is from Lesotho but is currently doing her MFA in creative writing in Arizona, USA. Lerato joined the course after having a money exploration coaching session with me; she shares her experience of that session and how she started to understand why nothing was coming together when it came to making money. In this podcast, we talk about how we often fracture our souls in order to survive the world and the importance of aligning your work or career with your soul's mission and how going against our soul calling affects our emotional and mental state. We instantly go deep in this podcast - Lerato shares how her relationship with money is changing by living in the US and using a different currency - the dollar. Lerato share's how she feels that the energy of money is more intense in the US vs the energy of money in South Africa and Lesotho and how she feels she can do more with the same amount of money in the USA than she could back home. Lerato never wanted to join her sister's stupid social club. All those pretentious people spending hours showing off their wealth. To what end? What was the point of it all? She'd been disappointed that her husband had fallen for Solomzi's charms and finally acceded to the invitation to join the group." In her latest novel chronicling the lives of four couples, Makholwa reveals the price of ‘perfect'. In a social media world obsessed with love lives here and Black love, Makholwa challenges readers to look beyond the veneer. These very successful women who form the backbone of this story are each battling their own demons in their marriages and even work life. The discovery of the body of unidentified woman in the beginning of the book is the source of much mystery and tension. Exploring the themes of financial crisis, toxic relationships, religion and sexual frustration, critical but. stable is a feat. Makholwa calls on us to rethink what capitalism means for Black love and existence.
