My super fun, super special, and super heartfelt interview with the queen of surviving and thriving Michelle Buteau is out today! Michelle's story is beyond inspiring, and this small clip shows you how she did more than just manifest her dreams...she took charge of her life and ignored all the nay sayers. This A Spoonful of Paolo episode is bursting joy and love and a few surprises. Recently, I had the honor of being the moderator for the 8x Grammy-nominated musical genius Tori Amos to promote her gorgeous new children's book Tori and the Muses. I have to say this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I was super nervous before the show, but the moment Tori and I walked on stage together, I felt completely at home and we had a fun, heartfelt and inspiring conversation. I am grateful for how open she was and how comfortable she made me feel onstage and off. To all of her fans - she is exactly as kind and magical as you could imagine her to be. A special thank you to Anderson's Bookshop, my husband Patrick, my friend Matt, John Witherspoon and of course the sensational Tori Amos. I will treasure this night forever. Oh, and if you have a young reader in your life, get them a copy of Tori and the Muses! We have a very special A Spoonful of Paolo holiday episode out today with Tony-nominated actor Megan Hilty! Megan is currently killing it as Madeline Ashton in Broadway's new hit musical Death Becomes Her. I've wanted to talk with Megan ever since I saw her play the one and only Galinda in Wicked back in 2007. I was so grateful to finally get the chance to sit down with her, and I loved our conversation. 20 years ago TODAY, Oprah Winfrey made my wildest dream come true on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Now, I'm sitting down with Oprah herself for a very special & heartfelt A Spoonful of Paolo episode! This conversation is an offering of inspiration, love, perseverence and hope in a moment that we desperately need it. Patrick and I poured our hearts and souls into every detail of this episode, so I truly hope you enjoy it. ❤️
SEASON 14 of A Spoonful of Paolo has arrived and we are kicking things off with the amazing, Tony Award-nominated Micaela Diamond! Micaela is currently starring in Ryan Murphy's new hit series Grotesquerie as the scene-stealing fan favorite Sister Megan. We met up with Micaela in NYC where she opened up about her meteoric journey from growing up in Margate, New Jersey to seeing her name in lights on Broadway, and what's it like working on a Ryan Murphy show alongside the incredible Niecy Nash. I truly loved my conversation with Micaela, and I hope her story of dreaming big inspires you to never give up on your dreams! Enjoy and thanks for watching!
On July 13, 2024 the world lost an icon… Richard Simmons. Richard brought so much joy and love to his fans. He was America's fitness guru who made us all feel seen and loved. I know this firsthand because Richard was a guest on A Spoonful Of Paolo on June 20th 2013. It was a big moment for our show because this was our 50th episode. A dear friend of mine made this interview possible and I am eternally grateful. I couldn't believe we were going to tape my chat with Richard Simmons at his iconic studio, Slimmons in Beverly Hills. Not only that, but I was able to take his class right before the interview, and it was one of my favorite workout experiences ever. I can't tell you how much fun this was seeing so many people working out led by Richard himself. There was a moment where Richard called me to the middle of the floor and we were surrounded by his students dancing and cheering us on. After class, we started the interview and what I loved about Richard was his openness with his feelings. I could tell he loved the interview because we had a real connection. I was really proud of this episode. It's moments like this that I am so glad I didn't give up on my dreams. This day, this experience, this episode will never be forgotten. I grew up watching Richard Simmons and seeing him be his authentic self was the best gift he gave me and everyone else who loved him. RIP Richard and keep spreading your joy and love with everyone else in heaven. Say hi to my heavenly mom and I love you both.
Ending season 13 of A Spoonful of Paolo with the super-talented Mandy Moore reminds me that dreams do come true when you do the work and never give up. For the past 25 years, Mandy Moore has been a perfect example of that. I can't tell you what an honor and privilege it was to speak with her. A huge part of my life was spent listening to Mandy's music, watching her movies & being mesmerized by her brilliant performance on the Emmy award-winning show This Is Us. Mandy and her two This Is Us co-stars, Sterling K. Brown and Chris Sullivan have a new fantastic podcast called That Was Us where they go back and revisit each episode of the iconic series. I truly loved this conversation with Mandy. We laughed, we cried, and I gave her a VERY special surprise that left her speechless. It was a first for our show and a first for Mandy Moore! I hope you all love this episode and may you never stop dreaming BIG! The last time I talked with Valerie Bertinelli was 2 years ago, which was a pretty dark time in both of our lives. I can't tell you how JOYOUS it was to reunite in person and see just how much we both have been able to heal since then (after putting in lots of hard work, of course). We had such a meaningful and fun conversation about her new cookbook Indulge, how she deals with grief, and how Valerie got to a place where she truly loves herself. I can't tell you how much I loved this episode and I know you will too. Oh and I promise you that after this interview, you'll want to order her fantastic cookbook Indulge. I can't stop making recipes from it and, let me tell you, her dishes are easy & delicious!

The recent loss of Olivia Newton-John shook the world and brought a tidal wave of grief and appreciation for this talented and beloved superstar. Back in 2017, I was fortunate enough to have her come into my home studio for a very special interview. I just can't describe what it feels like to have Olivia Newton-John walk into your house! She was one of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever met. No stranger to grief and loss in her own life, Olivia and I talked about her album for those experiencing grief called 'Liv On' with bandmates Amy Sky and Beth Nielsen Chapman. We are also, of course, chatted about 'Grease', her iconic career, played a super fun game and got a mini performance at the end. Every moment of that day was a dream come true. Joy Reid picked a heck of a time to have a front row seat to history and report the news. I can't even explain how excited I was that she found the time to sit down with me while hosting her nightly show "The ReidOut" on MSNBC and being a part of the network's ALL STAR panel recapping the January 6th Hearings. She has had a remarkable life, and I loved talking to her about her complicated path to living her dream. Watch until the end for some fun predictions about how history will view some of the most dangerous characters in our government and media, and the only mistake Oprah has ever made. What can I say? Every second of this interview was an absolute JOY!
Who else is obsessed with Selling Sunset on Netflix? Today I am thrilled to chat with the beautiful, successful and newly-promoted Mary Fitzgerald. Her new memoir “Enough Already: Learning to Love the Way I Am Today” is so beautiful, vulnerable and raw. Our conversation about the painful loss of Eddie Van Halen helped me remember that even though my mom isn't physically here, her spirit and love is with me always. Valerie and I had such a heart connection in this interview and I truly hope it inspires you to heal and love yourself no matter what you are struggling with. This episode is dedicated to the memory of my beautiful mother. To see the video version of this interview or any of our other interviews, head over to aspoonfulofpaolo.com or our YouTube channel. I still can't believe I was able to spend some quality time with the phenomenal cast and writers of the hugely anticipated "How I Met Your Father"! Chatting with Hilary Duff, Christopher Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, Suraj Sharma, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger was a DREAM. I have seen the first four episodes and they are beyond what I wanted them to be. So much heart, so many laughs and the perfect amount of Duff! #HIMYF premieres today 1/18 on Hulu. Don't miss it! Are y'all ready for a holiday TREAT?? Today I am celebrating Christmastime with the phenomenally talented Kimberley Locke! Her new holiday album "Christmas is Here" is out now and she is giving me the BEST gift with a special performance of the title track. I can't tell you enough how much I enjoyed talking with Kimberley about her "American Idol" experience, her new life running her own entertainment company and how a chaotic childhood helped make her the powerful woman she is today. Buckle up your sleighbelts and get ready for some laughter, tears and holiday cheer!
If you love "The Brady Bunch" and you love Lifetime Christmas movies, then this is the episode for you! "Blending Christmas" premieres this Sunday (12/12) and I am talking to two of the stars of the movie - Aaron O'Connell and Peter Brady himself, Christopher Knight. The Bradys and Christmas will always go hand in hand for me, so it was beyond exciting to see Christopher reunite onscreen with Barry Williams, Mike Lookinland, Susan Olsen, and even Cousin Oliver Robbie Rist. Add Aaron and Haylie Duff to the mix, it's like they made this movie just for me! So grab yourself a gallon of eggnog, a plate of pork chops & applesauce and enjoy the show.
I love daytime television, I love "The View", and I LOVE Debbie Matenopoulos! I honestly could have talked to her for three hours so it took all my self control to keep this interview under 30 minutes. We had so much fun talking about her early days at MTV (anyone remember "The Grind"?!), her magical journey of getting hired at "The View" and her fantastic skin care line Ikaria. Being the kids of immigrants, Debbie and I have so much in common and I loved talking with her about her family and the American dream. Stick around until the end for a very special and emotional surprise! To see the video version of this interview or any of our other interviews, head over to aspoonfulofpaolo.com or our YouTube channel. Drag Race royalty Alaska is living up to RuPaul's famous mantra "You Betta Work". She is currently performing onstage in "Head Over Heels" at the Pasadena Playhouse, releasing a ton of new music, prepping a headlining tour AND she just released her new memoir "My Name's Yours, What's Alaska?". I loved talking to her about her life before fame, her volatile relationship with Sharon Needles and why she says you should NEVER win Drag Race. NOTE: THIS EPISODE CONTAINS SOME ADULT LANGUAGE. CMT TV and radio host Cody Alan is walking proof that it really does get BETTER. He just won a CMA Award, published his beautiful new memoir "Hear's the Thing", and is finally living a truthful life as a gay man. Our journeys are SO similar and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed talking to him about the hard journey of coming out to his wife, kids (& Keith Urban!) and how it led to the abundant life he lives today. I hope you enjoy this conversation and it inspires you to be authentically yourself in every way! We are celebrating our Season 11 premiere episode with the one and only Raven-Symoné and her fabulous wife Miranda Pearman-Maday! In Raven's words, they are THRIVING as wives and co-creators of their new YouTube Channel called 8PM. We had a wonderful chat about chasing your dreams at 3 years old, coming out in the public eye, lessons learned at The View and the return of the hit Disney series Raven's Home. I loved every second of this conversation and I hope you will too!
10 years ago today we released our very first “A Spoonful Of Paolo” episode. One day, I came home and asked Patrick to help me bring this long awaited dream to life. We'd never thought in a million years we'd be here 10 years later having interviewed icons, legends and super-talented guests who's stories have inspired us all to dream big. In honor of that, we are looking back and made a fun vlog sharing some personal experiences, both good AND bad over the last 10 years. Enjoy and thank you all for your love and support!
We could all use some laughs right now, so I have some good news. "The Other Two" is back for season 2 on HBO Max! Today I'm talking to Broadway veteran Heléne Yorke who is absolutely hilarious in her role as Brooke. I can't even tell you how much I loved talking to her about how she chased her dreams to places she never could have imagined. She also shares the amazing advice she got from co-star Molly Shannon, and what it's like working with the comedy legend. Oh, did I mention Heléne is about to get married? Of COURSE, I had to get her a wedding gift! Enjoy! To see the video version of this interview or any of our other interviews, head over to aspoonfulofpaolo.com or our YouTube channel. Today I'm talking with the newest cast member of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' - the fabulous Crystal Kung Minkoff! Find out how she manages to stay cool and composed when she finds herself in the middle of a drama storm, and how she was able to come to a good place in her friendship with Sutton Stracke. We also get into mascara-gate, her nerve-racking first day of filming and those u̶g̶l̶y̶ AMAZING leather pants. I had so much fun with Crystal, and I know you will too! Enjoy!
Sutton Stracke finally got her 'Real Housewives of Bevely Hills' diamond this season, and she has brought with it no shortage of laughter, tears and DRAMA. I had so much fun chatting with her about her experience on the show, her rocky start with Crystal and how SHE would look in those "ugly leather pants"! This was such a fun interview and I hope you enjoy it!To see the video version of this interview or any of our other interviews, head over to aspoonfulofpaolo.com or our YouTube channel.
