POPULARITY
The November '23 edition of UP! has a mixture of new and classic songs interspersed through it. I recently got hold of the hard to get 7th Heaven club mix of P!nk's "All I know So Far" and as I love all things P!nk, it had to go on. Division 4 kindly provided me with his mix of Taylor Swift's "Anti-Hero" and as I also love all things Tay Tay, it had to go on as well. Dave Aude` has updated Kimberley Locke's cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me" and Dave Matthias' new track "Let The Night" is killer. Dirty Disco features three remixes here. Mark seems to have a thing for Troye Sivan (which I totally support and am here for) and his remix of "One Of Your Girls" is excellent. Sia's new song "Gimme Love" gets a super remix from Armin van Buuren and the Jusko/Blacklow mix of Chappelle Roan's song is all energy. The back end of the set has some excellent remixes of Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa's recent hit singles and then I threw in some classic Selena Gomez and Sagi Kariv. The set closes out with Dirty disco's remarkably blended mix of Sam Smith's cover of "Beautiful" with Christina Aguilera. Kimberley Locke won the hearts of many with her incredible talent on Season 2 of American Idol. My conversation with Kimberley is like chatting with a friend you've known forever. She's warm, she's gracious and allows her joy to radiate in everything she does. Kimberley launched a new talk show this season, Doctor and the Diva, and is finding her stride sharing her passion of music, coaching those around her to be their best, and following her dreams. Kimberley is also Founder and CEO of I AM EntertainmentWhen Kimberley isn’t helping other artists to make their dreams come true, she’s creating and performing her own music.Auditioning for the 2003 series of TV talent show American Idol® was a life-changing decision for Kimberley. She successfully passed the audition and became a firm fan favorite, eventually placing as second runner up and setting her on a new career path in the music industry. Kimberley signed to Curb Records immediately after her American Idol journey, where she became a very successful recording artist and released three full-length albums with the label. Among her many achievements she’s had eight Top 20 Adult Contemporary hits and four #1 Dance hits across various Billboard charts. Her #1 club hit, a remake of the Freda Payne classic “Band of Gold,” was included on Billboard’s “Top 50 Dance Songs of the Decade” list. She’s also made history as being the only recording artist to score a #1 Christmas song on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart three years in a row. In 2009, Kimberley parted ways with Curb Records and became the first artist to sign a deal with Randy Jackson’s record label, Dream Merchant 21 Entertainment. Two years later, she announced she was launching her own artist consulting company, I AM Entertainment, LLC. She released her first independent EP album, “Four for the Floor” through I AM Entertainment in July 2011, followed by a cover of “Silver Bells” four months later, and “Finally Free” the following year. Most recently she was seen at the 2016 finale of American Idol, which was watched by around 13 million viewers. At the finale she sang her hugely successful 2004 single “8th World Wonder,” along with additional solo and group performances with other American Idol favorites. To learn more about Kimberley, here's a link:http://i-am-ent.com/artist/kimberley-locke/To check out one of my favorite designer and get special savings for being a Fearlessly Facing Fifty fan. Sharon Gless Emmy and Golden Globe winning actress talks with Emmy Winner Charlotte Robinson host of OUTTAKE VOICES™ about her reunion with Tyne Daly at the Richmond Ermet Aid Foundation’s Silver Anniversary Gala event “Help Is On The Way 25 Celebrating Broadway” that takes place on Sunday August 18th with a concert and gala that benefits Meals on Wheels of San Francisco and Raphael House at the Herbst Theatre 401 Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, California. Gless will be reunited with her “Cagney & Lacey” partner Tyne Daly in a reunion performance not to be missed. Also scheduled to appear will be Eileen Bourgade, Carole Cook, Franc D’ambrosio, Sam Harris, Kimberley Locke, Constantine Maroulis, Jai Rodriguez, Del Shores, Lisa Vroman, Bruce Vilanch, Paula West and the cast of the National Touring Company of “Hamilton”. Carole Cook a protégé of Lucille Ball who has starred on stage and screen for over 70 years will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at Help Is On the Way 25. For over twenty years the Richmond Ermet Aid Foundation has raised millions of dollars by producing Broadway quality entertainment events and galas to advance HIV treatments and support AIDS services until there is a cure. Since 2015 REAF has expanded its fundraising focus to the Bay Area’s growing demand for two new areas by providing food for the needy and programs that support homeless, disadvantaged and disenfranchised youth. We talked to Sharon about this tremendous organization and as a fierce ally her spin on our LGBTQ issues. Sharon Gless has entertained TV viewers worldwide as the iconic characters she has brought to life over the last five decades. However it was her breakout role on the CBS hit TV series Cagney and Lacey that won our hearts as over 30 million viewers each week watched Gless as NYPD detective Christine Cagney in the first hour-long drama to feature two females in the leading roles that ran for six Emmy-winning seasons from 1982 until 1988. Then another generation of viewers fell in love with Sharon’s portrayal of Debbie Novotny the outspoken devoted mom of a gay son and confidant and loyal supporter to his gay friends for all five seasons of Showtime’s daring smash series Queer As Folk. We also talked to Gless about the possibility of a Queer As Folk reunion. The Richmond Ermet Aid Foundation was founded by the late Barbara Richmond and Peggy Ermet in memory of their sons John Richmond and Doug Ermet who both lost their lives to AIDS. In 1995 the two women decided not to get mad but get even when they launched a musical AIDS benefit to honor their sons by raising funds for AIDS service organizations. "Help Is On The Way 25" is Northern California's largest annual benefit concert benefiting HIV/AIDS and hunger programs. It's an elegant evening of wonderful music, delicious food and beverage tastings and most of all fun.For More Info & Tix: reaf-sf.org LISTEN: 500+ LGBTQ Chats @OUTTAKE VOICES

Their influence pays homage to the golden age of dance music, dating back to the late '90s and early 2000s—an era dominated by legends like Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, and Peter Rauhofer. Even so, Toy Armada and DJ Grind have managed to create their own unique space, taking the musical torch from trailblazers like Thunderpuss and updating it for today's LGBTQ+ dance community. The creative chemistry between Toy Armada and DJ Grind ignited almost immediately, starting with a simple email request to collaborate on a remix of Kimberley Locke's "Feel the Love." This initial partnership became a smashing success, soaring to the top of the UK charts and laying the foundation for an enduring and highly fruitful collaboration. Both artists bring something distinct to their combined efforts: Toy Armada was already a recognized talent before teaming up with DJ Grind, and his solo work complements and enriches their shared musical identity. In our Legacy series, Party Favorz delves into the mesmerizing talents of this dynamic duo. We aim to capture the uplifting spirit and sheer joy that their music brings to audiences—a gift to the LGBTQ+ community that goes beyond mere amusement. They have skillfully transformed this uplifting energy into remixes that provide the backdrop for some of the most unforgettable moments on the dance floor, creating a nearly transcendental experience for their fans. In an increasingly divided world, the work of Toy Armada and DJ Grind stands as a compelling example of music's power to unite and elevate us all. Their music acts as a celebration of gay pride in its own right, offering an auditory journey that embodies the values of inclusivity, love, and the pure thrill of being alive and dancing in a crowd. Party Favorz celebrates Toy Armada and DJ Grind for their monumental contributions to the world of dance music. Their work serves as a beacon of happiness and unity, imbuing our lives with the unique joy that comes from dancing in a crowd of people who share your rhythm and soul. We eagerly anticipate what the next chapter will bring for this incredible partnership. Until the next time...ENJOY! Part 1 (9 - 10:15 PM) What an amazing night! It was my honor and privilege to DJ Fred and Jason's 8th Annual Halloweenie party in Los Angeles this year, opening for the absolutely amazing DJ Dave Aude. I wanted everyone to have more than pictures to remember the night by, so I recorded my set and I'm posting it in 2 parts here. Please share it if you enjoy it. One disclaimer, on Part 1, I had to cut out a couple of tracks that I'm not able to post online, out of courtesy for the DJs who passed along the remixes, so you'll hear a jump cut in one place between Avicii/Gotye and Rihanna/Right Now (where I cropped out these aforementioned wo mixes). Welcome to Friday's edition of Pride. As promised, I'm serving up a heaping platter of happy house music. Unlike the Original and the BPM, there's not quite as much “happy” music that comes out early in the year. After all, it's still snowing and bitterly cold in most parts of the world, so I guess it's hard for producers to get into that frame of mind early on. Frankly, if they did, they'd save a lot of people from cabin fever. We could just sit underneath a fluorescent light, soaking in the rays, while listening to something that reminds us of what's to come later in the year, summer. Nevertheless, I've extracted the best of the disco, funky and camp from my previous T-Dance sets and bulked up the remainder with brand-spanking new tunes that'll make you glad you held out for the fun, sun, and beaches. I'm talking celebratory, hands in the air, makes you feel so good early Sunday morning dance music! Kicking things off, I pulled out one of my favorite songs of the year. Hot on the heels of last year's “Runaway,” which sat in Juno's funky house Top Fifty for over ten months since it's release last summer, DJ Kid Stretch pulls another favorite out of his arsenal with “Give U More.” This song is packed with so many samples, that it's hard for me to keep up; and honey, I am the queen of samples. The one you will recognize is the undeniable big voice of Loleatta hollering in the background. I've got two, count them two brand new Peyton singles. The first is a collaboration with Eric Kupper called “Celebrate.” Just in time for Pride, Peyton is talking about celebrating his life. As out and proud as we are this season, we should be singing right along with him. The other is a new song in collaboration with the UK hottie, Wayne G. I gave everyone a taste of “Ur the Best Thing” on Gay Days v1 and now here comes the original version, in it's full blown soulful glory. For all those that have been searching for the one true love and found it, this one's for you. If you haven't found that special someone just yet, don't fret, I'm fairly certain they'll wash up on a beach for you to take home, after a long night of partying. I've also sneaked in our girl Kimberley Locke who was recently featured in the G-Spot, with her brand new discolicious single “Strobelight.” Speaking of disco, how about three classic remakes? First off is the 1979 classic “You Know How to Love Me,” originally performed by Phyllis Hyman (may she rest in peace). As part of the Fierce Angel group, Soraya Vivian does the vocal duties and boy oh boy, does she hit this one out of the park! In fact, I fell so in love with her take, I added her again on part two of this Pride Edition and for now, that treat will remain a surprise. Let's just say she has quickly become a contender and is right up there with Katherine Ellis as the next Party Favorz girl. Once you hear her voice, you too will become a believer! Next up is the totally unexpected remake of the Anita Ward classic “Ring My Bell.” When I got the promos, I clicked the play button with hesitation. How could anyone possibly top this monster classic from 1979? One listen and I was blown away! FAMA pours everything into this song and completely breathes new life into something that I would have never in a million years thought to touch. I absolutely love, LOVE the DeepCitySoul Mix, but wait there's more! The remix package also includes amazing renditions by Richard Earnshaw and Richie Jones. Unfortunately, the label is holding out on those, because they only included the radio edits. I fully expect a second release containing the full-length version of those two later next month; hopefully in time for Beach House. Finally, in the disco realm, Eric Kupper and Cathi O deliver “Haven't You Heard.” With its familiar catchy refrain, this song had immediate gravitational pull. The only problem was that I couldn't figure out who originally sang this song. In fact,

It's almost Summer, which means it's about time to get out in the sun! Here's a little funky house goodness for your pool-side partaking. Lots of fun, happy stuff here. I tried to keep it a little more on-point this year. No Gaga this time, kiddies, although she does make a brief cameo appearance (and don't give me any of that Alejandro static). I did have my hand in putting together one of these songs. A little while back, Edson Pride released a somewhat Circuity mix of Groove Is in the Heart. I immediately purchased it, only to find out it was barely even a dub. Not really any vocals to speak of. Now, there was no way I could let that happen to such as fun and happy song as Groove, so I took a recent remake and parts of the original and threw them all together. I think the results are quite entertaining in my "groovy mashup". My favorite new song on this mix would have to be Alexis Jordan - Happiness. I really like the song and its lyrics. Very uplifting. I was waiting -- in anxious anticipation -- for Dave Audé's remix. I heard a sample and knew it was going to turn out really well. When I finally obtained the full version, it exceeded my expectations. Such a nicely done, pretty production by him and the bridge gives me goose bumps every time (I did throw in a little more "sparkle", for good measure). It seems he is just at the top of his game these days. This song, to say the least, makes me very, well, "happy". I always like to end my Sun mixes with a little bit of old-school disco. Anyone that knows me well, knows me and my relationship with "the Cake". By "the Cake", I mean Donna Summer's remake of the song MacArthur Park. A few months back, I had ran across a rare, different disco version of it by a different group (at least, that I had never heard and I'm a disco fanboy). I was all planning on using it to end this mix. That is, until it was a suggested by a friend that if I was going to end the mix with "the Cake", why not use the Queen's version? Well, I decided since I haven't ever used it before, I would finally bring it out to play. So Donna makes her appearance in the full 18-minute suite. Hopefully one day she'll find that recipe... only "heaven knows." Hahaha. :-) Song listing: Kimberley Locke - Strobelight (Tony Moran & Warren Rigg Intro Edit)Hannah - I Believe In You (Riff & Rays Club Mix)Robyn - Dancing On My Own (Buzz Junkies Club Mix)Mojito feat.
