Rob Pitts - Unisual Kindness by Breathe New Life Church

In Matthew, chapter 22, Jesus instructed us to, “Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence." (Matthew 22:37 MSG) and to love our neighbours as our ourselves. Jesus' passion drove him to the cross to die for us. His passion caused Him to overcome the devil's temptations and earthly passions in the wilderness (Matthew 4). In Matthew 21, Jesus' passion overflowed as He turned over the tables in the temple. This act of passion brought change, challenged religious spirits, promoted intimacy with God and created space for those in need of healing. May this message help you clear out and create space in your own life! -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Tim Davies shares a message about baptism on Sunday 12th October. Using the scripture in Colossians, chapter 2, Tim challenges people to accept Jesus Christ as Lord (Colossians 2:6-7) and allow their roots to grow down into Him and to build their lives on Him. We should be passionate about our relationship with Jesus and celebrate what he has done in the lives of others because Jesus causes us to grow in Him, to be complete in Him and to be alive in Him. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Freedom is one of our three Core Values at Breathe New Life. The only way we can be truly free is to receive freedom in Christ; however, many of us try to earn our permanent place in the family of God with good deeds and our own merit. No matter how many good merits we achieve, we'll never be able to outweigh the guilt of our own sin. Like in Job 33, we needed someone to stand in the gap and save us from death. That person was Jesus, whose one act of obedience enabled us to be made righteous, perfect and holy (Hebrews 10:14), giving us a permanent place in the family of God, and now no other sacrifice is necessary (Hebrews 10:17-18). Jesus stood up for the woman caught in adultery in front of her accusers (John 8), he gave her a new life and told her to sin no more. We should do the same! If we continue to sin, we'll be enslaved again; however, we have the Holy Spirit, who is our advocate, to help us! -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Ben Hodgson - You are already clean by Breathe New Life Church

Sara Jukes shares about the process of pruning that Jesus talked about in John 15. If Jesus is the true vine, we are the branches then God - the gardener - is the one who prunes the branches in order to help us remain fruitful. It can be a painful process but also one that brings great joy! All we need to do is trust that the gardener knows best and if we remain in Him, we will bear fruit, much fruit and fruit that will last. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In John 15:5 Jesus said, "I am the vine; you are the branches" and that we must remain in Him in order to bear fruit. If we are connected to the vine, we will bear much fruit, our prayers will be answered and yet we will also have hostility. In order to remain in Him we need to come to the baby changing station! Like a baby who needs a new nappy, we need to cry out, call on and cling to our parent, which is exactly what King David did to his Father God, in Psalm 13. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

During our All In Service, Rhi concludes our summer preaching series on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) by sharing about goodness. As the famous saying goes, "God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!" God's goodness is continuous, consistent and is present on our bad days as well as our good. God sowed goodness into the fabric of creation (Genesis 1) and his goodness is in everyone, even if we cannot see it. That said, we have a responsibility to cultivate goodness in our own lives. As Galatians 5:15 says, we need to let the Holy Spirit show us how. God can breathe life into us if we come to him regularly and surrender to Him. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Guest speaker, Dave Food (Runnymede Christian Fellowship, Egham) shares a message about harvesting and fruitfulness and makes the point that harvesting takes place every day and everywhere. Jesus said in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few" therefore there is a need for normal people like us to do the harvesting and to look for opportunities to have redemptive conversations, leave an impact and lead someone to Jesus. "Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." (John 4:35) -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Jonny Newbould - Gentleness is love in Action by Breathe New Life Church

During our summer preaching series on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), Deb shares about patience. The Bible defines patience in various different ways, including long-suffering, being long-tempered, having a long fuse and being slow to anger. Deb theorises that impatience is the emotional displacement of fear. This fear is specifically born from distrust in the abilities and or willingness of the one you are waiting for to produce the outcome that you desire. To help us in this area, we need to know that God is completely sovereign, He is infinite in wisdom and His love is perfect. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

During our summer preaching series on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), Ethan shares about love, and particularly about agape love, which is the highest value of love. This is the way in which God loves us (John 3:16), it is also the way in which we are commanded to love in Mark 12 and in Matthew 22. Thirdly, we (plural) are equipped, by the Holy Spirit, to do agape love, with particular reference to forgiveness. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Colossians 3 instructs us to clothe ourselves with kindness which, when translated from it's original language, means sinking into a garment or fully immersing in water. Even the kindest of people are prone to taking off their kindness, especially when behind the wheel of a car! Rachel encourages us to be kind on every occasion, especially when no one is watching or listening. She also challenges us to show unusual kindness, much like the islanders showed Paul when he was shipwrecked in Acts 28. No matter who we are, we can all relate to anxiety, including Adam and Even who hid themselves from God (Genesis 3:9-10). Ethan encourages us that peace is found in a person - Jesus - and it was his punishment that brought us peace (Isaiah 53:4-5). Even if the worst-case scenario happens, God can give us shalom peace. During our summer preaching series on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), Imogen shares about The Power of Self Control. Self control is rooted in the power of the Holy Spirit and in our relationship with God. Secondly, Self-Control provides protection for us in the form of healthy boundaries. Finally, there is great power in our words, therefore self-control helps us to take care with every syllable. During our summer preaching series on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), Baz shares about Faithfulness. In Hebrews 11, we read of a great Hall of Fame of people of faith. In this message Baz asks, what does it take to make the list? Abel was generous, Noah was obedient. Abraham obeyed even when he did not understand, and Sara believed the truth over fact. During our All In Service on Sunday 27th July, Ben Hodgson shares about the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12). In Romans 12:4-5, we learn that we are one body (unison) made up of many different parts (unique). We all belong to each other (unity) and we all have a special function (useful). This is how God has design us to be fruitful together! Rob Pitts shares seven ways to be far-reaching in the context of our corporate fruitfulness, for example by investing in people, sharing the Good News and partnering with global mission projects. In order to do this, we need to live a life of surrender like the Apostle Paul and remain in the grapevine, Jesus (John 15). Just like an apple tree, we'll only ever be as far-reaching as our root system allows. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Tim Davies - Corporate Fruit by Breathe New Life Church

The bible starts and finishes with fruitfulness and is a theme running throughout scripture. In this message, guest speaker Dr Glenn Balfour (Missio Dei College, Assemblies of God UK) defines fruitfulness as doing something useful. Fruitfulness demands a good source, good preparation and plenty of hard work. God works through or effort and ensure that our labour is not in vain (2 Timothy 2:6). -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Paul Reid - Living a generous life by Breathe New Life Church

Priscilla Reid - To the least of these by Breathe New Life Church

A message from Ian Byrd, Apostolic Team Leader of Lifelinks International on Sunday 27th April. In 2 Chronicles, chapter 20, we read about King Jehoshaphat whose army was faced with huge enemy armies. Turning to God, he prayed in front of the community of Judah and Jerusalem and admitted that he and his army were utterly powerless and dependent upon Him. In order to be successful and overcome the enemies that we face in life, we too need to take three key steps. Firstly, we need to give up and let go of the worthless idols in our lives. Secondly, we need to look up in prayer to God and worship Him, remembering all that he has done. Finally, we need to step up in obedience to God, being faithful even in the smallest of things. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Paul Jukes - Jesus is Risen (Easter Sunday 2025) by Breathe New Life Church

In this Palm Sunday message, Beccy Pitts compares two contrasting kings. Firstly King Xerxes mentioned in the book of Esther would have been the kind of king that the Jewish people would have had in mind when King Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem. Although Jesus and Xerxes were similar in their ultimate authority, ownership and responsibility, they were very different. Jesus was humble whereas Xerxes grand, Jesus was perfect whereas Xerxes was flawed, and Jesus was approachable whereas Xerxes was not. Finally Jesus is an eternal King whereas Xerxes was only finite. The question Beccy poses in this message is an important one, is Jesus your king? Secondly, is he king in every area of your life? -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

During our Mother's Day service, Sara Jukes shared about being fruitful in our past, present and our future. The genealogy in Matthew 1 is proof that our past does not define us. Some of the women mentioned in the bloodline of Jesus had very colourful pasts and yet they were accepted, loved and grafted into the line of Jesus. In Luke 10, Martha was distracted as her sister sat at the feet ofJesus yet is was Jesus who was relaxed and never in a hurry. We too can relax in our present circumstances, underneath his everlasting arms. In fact, like the woman in Proverbs 31, we can be so confident of our future in Christ, we can laugh at the days to come and face tomorrow with a smile. Ben Hodgson - Everyday Evangelism by Breathe New Life Church

Paul Jukes - Fruitfulness in the Everyday (Baptism Sunday 2025) by Breathe New Life Church

Tim Davies takes a look at the first three chapters of Genesis to conclude that we were made to be fruitful and to have fruitful relationships. Adam and Eve were deceived to believe that what God had given to them was not enough and that they needed more. They failed to realise that the fruit should be given and not be taken. Receiving the fruit that God has given to us leads to freedom and intimacy; however, if we take fruit that is not rightfully ours, our selfishness leads to shame and nakedness. If we want to be fruitful, we need to keep in step with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5) and develop that relationship above all others. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Rob Pitts - Fruitfullness in the Workplace by Breathe New Life Church

In Genesis, God gave a corporate command to be fruitful, to increase in number and to fill the earth. In this message, Ps Sara Jukes compares Genesis 11 - which is set shortly after the flood - with the New Testament passage in Acts 2 which is set on the day of Pentecost. The difference between these two similar passages lies in the fruit and in who the fruit was for! For example, the people in Genesis were self-centred, building a tower to make a name for themselves; however, the disciples in Acts 2 were Jesus-centred. Both groups of people started in one place and were together, yet Genesis ends with the people being scattered, whereas Acts ends with thousands of people being added. Similarly, Jesus gave us a corporate command to be fruitful when he said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Jonny Newbould shares about fruitfulness in the context of the important question, 'what is in your hand?' It's a question that God asks of Moses in Exodus 4; it's a question that is implied by the Master in the Parable of the Talents and it is also an invitation and a question that God asks of us today. Ben looks at the miraculous events that took place in 2 Kings 4, in which Elisha instructed a desperate widow to find and fill as many jars as she possibly could with olive oil. The miracle came when she started pouring; however, she had to first of all find the oil. Like many of us, we can miss the oil (or the fruit) in our lives because we see it as insignificant and small. We also need to find jars (or containers) to pour the oil into. These may be disciplines, habits and routine that help protect the fruit and are also the people who are in our lives. It is clear that our own personal fruitfulness can lead to our corporate fruitfulness as a church or the fruitfulness of our own families, providing that we, like Jesus and like the widow in the story, keep on pouring. Paul shares from Genesis 28:10-22 about Jacob who vowed to give a tithe to God, providing that God blessed him. This conditional vow demonstrated that Jacob was a work in process and so are we. Jacob had flaws that limited his ability to be fruitful but like Jacob, we can overcome them with God's help! Esau was hungry for stew, Jacob had a hunger for himself, the Prodigal Son was hungry for home. What are you hungry for? Like Jacob, let's be hungry for God and seek him in prayer and fasting. to God which was If God blesses him, he will give a tithe. From the very beginning in Genesis, God has wanted his people to be fruitful and to multiply (Genesis 1:28). In John 15, Jesus makes it clear that God wants fruit, he wants much fruit and he wants fruit that will last. In this Vision Sunday message, Pastors Paul and Sara Jukes talk about how we can be fruitful personally as well as corporately as a church.
