Tim Davies - Fruitfulness in Relationships

Tim Davies takes a look at the first three chapters of Genesis to conclude that we were made to be fruitful and to have fruitful relationships. Adam and Eve were deceived to believe that what God had given to them was not enough and that they needed more. They failed to realise that the fruit should be given and not be taken. Receiving the fruit that God has given to us leads to freedom and intimacy; however, if we take fruit that is not rightfully ours, our selfishness leads to shame and nakedness. If we want to be fruitful, we need to keep in step with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5) and develop that relationship above all others. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Tom and Pat managed to wrangle two of the most infamous names in UK minigolf, though we use the term "wrangle" loosely. Ted "Big Top" McIver and Tim "Ace Man" Davies have been around the world of minigolf for 25+ years and collaborated on the seminal tome "Nutters with Putters". We somehow managed to get them to talk about their history, their views on some courses in the UK, the current state of UK minigolf and drop some hints for coming attractions. This was all intertwined with a plethora of stories from the past and bickering about details the way only two long-time friends can do. What we didn't know is that they hadn't talked to each other in 10 years! There's plenty more surprises dropped like that throughout the interview and we hope to have these two blokes on again sometime. Continuing our series on Jesus, the Light of the World, Tim shares about seeing the light and following the light. We learn from Genesis 1, that even in chaos and darkness, the Spirit of God is hovering. In the beginning was the Word (logos) and when God spoke, there was light! If we allow God to shine on us, we'll have the power to grasp how much he loves us. Like the Wise Men in the Christmas story, we should follow the light to Jesus and worship Him. -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In this message, Tim approaches the subject of God's love for us, not from an intellectual standpoint but from the heart. Psalm 42 talks about a deep love that sweeps over us, yet so many of us stay in the shallows because of fear, guilt and shame. We all have insecurities, but it is only Jesus who can fix them. All we need to do is to repent of our wrong thinking and give all of our guilt and shame to Jesus. We need not be rooted in our insecurities but as it says in Ephesians 3, we can be 'rooted and established in love.' May you grasp the fulness of God's love for you! It is not good for man to be alone, therefore we need one another. In this message, Tim Davies uses the example of the very first church in Acts 2 to highlight the importance of meeting together as church. When we meet together, we learn together, we're nourished together, we pray together, we share together, and we are blessed together. It's very easy to assume that church is all about me; however, as Tim rightly said, we exist for a higher purpose, for God to add to our number daily those who are being saved (Acts 2:47). He discusses a specific instance, "Leaders Unplugged," where he openly talked about his failures, leading to an unexpectedly positive response from the audience. Tim observed that this openness about failures and vulnerabilities led to an outpouring of gratitude from listeners, who felt more seen and understood. [12:47] Tim's Second Proudest Moment: Transitioning to CEO and Changing Sectors Tim narrates his journey of becoming CEO of ivolve Group and the challenges of entering a new sector with a fresh perspective. He emphasizes the importance of being commercially sensible without compromising on quality care. Discussing the integration of businesses within Ivolve Group, Tim explains the importance of developing a new team and culture focused on transparency, vulnerability, and error admission to foster psychological safety. Tim discusses the impact of organizational trauma and the importance of reassurance, innovative thinking, and calm leadership in times of transition and uncertainty. [22:15] Tim's Third Proudest Moment: Personal Growth Through a DIY Project Tim shares his experience of renovating a static caravan, which served as a metaphor for personal growth and the value of investing effort into a project. He describes how hands-on activities, like DIY projects, can be an exercise in innovative thinking and provide a sense of achievement. Tim reflects on the importance of such activities for balancing professional responsibilities and personal well-being. [28:30] Overcoming Perfectionism and the Value of Authentic Leadership Tim and Angela delve into the pitfalls of perfectionism, discussing how striving for flawlessness can hinder personal and professional development rather than foster it. They touch upon the challenge of public speaking and the realization that perfection in communication is less important than authenticity and connection with the audience. Tim advises against overpreparation and stresses the importance of being relatable and human in professional settings. We must understand the role of EQ (emotional intelligence) over IQ in leadership success and the continuous journey toward personal and professional growth. 5 Powerful Quotes [3:03] “I realized that [to] be more open about one's failures, or the challenges that have happened over your career or over your life, rather than being something that you need to hide and push down… if you have the confidence and courage, and it does take some to be a bit more open about is something that actually can connect you to people and takes a lot of anxiety away from you as well.   [7:21] “…there was a really fine line between being so overly open, that you actually discredit yourself and being vulnerable enough and human enough or grounded enough to make people feel relatable to you. And that you also are not perfect, and you've [never had been] perfect to get that position.”   [9:59] “I do think that you only really learn with it when things are bad. No, of course, you do some learning and some developing when things are all right, and things are going okay. But it's tiny in comparison to when things are tough… or things are going wrong or something's failed, that is where the real development happens.”   [28:43] “...perfectionism gets in the way of a lot of things…I think it is to some extent, a strength because you meet people who've got high standards. They put lots of pressure on themselves. They want to deliver things and that's great, but when it tips over, and often it does, I think it really is an inhibitor.”   [31:45] “There are some technical roles where actually it's all about IQ…you have to have enough IQ to be competent. Beyond that, more and more and more IQ does not equal more and more and more performance. Yeah. But EQ is what it's about.” About the Guest Tim Davies, a healthcare leader with over 20 years of experience, stands at the forefront of modern leadership. He brings a unique blend of emotional intelligence and innovative thinking to complex, regulated environments.  As CEO of ivolve Group, Tim has redefined leadership within the care sector. He spearheaded transformative changes, including significant rebranding and integrating diverse operations under the ivolve Care and Support banner.   Tim's passion for digital innovation and human-centric management and his proven track record of success positions him as a thought leader in modern healthcare.  In the ninth episode of Season 11 of the Propcast, host Louisa Dickins is joined by Mateo Zimmermann, Investment Manager at CEMEX Ventures,  Chris Bone, Co-Founder & CEO at Modulous and Tim Davies, CEO at HiiROC Ltd. Episode Highlights: • The work that each of the businesses do and how they collaborate • The work HiiROC are doing to try and make hydrogen more affordable • The main issues currently facing the construction industry and the work being undertaken to try and find solutions  • How these issues can impair innovation and make the industry quite risk averse • The work Modulous are doing on ESG  • The challenge with bringing new talent into the industry who can help drive innovation and technology adoption Why it can take longer to see the rollout of new technologies within the space The different speed of innovation adoption across the industry and the frustrations this can cause • The investments CEMEX are making in companies working on green construction • The issues with supply/ delivery of materials and the work CEMEX are doing to try and resolve this • The future they all see for construction Resources: • LMRE Global Recruitment and Search Consultancy• LMRE YouTube Interviews• PropTech Salary Report, LMRE 2022• Leaplab | CEMEX Ventures• Construction Startup Competition • McKinsey• Modulous• Synhelion• PartRunner – Home Key Takeaways: • CEMEX have been amazing for us through this process because they're thought leaders in their space. They have great views on how the industry can be changed and that's something that we're very keen to help facilitate. Our vision is to help solve the housing crisis while protecting the planet. - Chris • We are rolling out the production of hydrogen, but we're working with partners like CEMEX to say how do we use it in the right setting? So how do you use it to produce cement? How do you use it to produce steel or for transport? - Tim • We can only tackle the challenges our industry are facing, and I want to emphasise on that,  if we industry players collaborate to build a better future. - Mateo • We're continually looking at both the physical product and the carbon content of that product. And until you understand the carbon content, it's very difficult to drive change, to improve that, or to be able to track it and understand exactly what level of carbon is, in our instance being put in our buildings. - Chris • It's a very tight margin business. Therefore, when you look at cement or steel and the like to suddenly introduce a much higher energy cost because you're using hydrogen, not natural gas or whatever else is nigh on impossible. So we as technology providers have to provide the solution that makes it affordable. - Tim • I think the paces are also a little bit different. There's obviously a lot of innovations in terms of materials that are happening, but not necessarily there is an adoption on the job site right on construction. - Mateo • It's very inefficient and obviously materials are a large part of the construction budget. So from 40 to 60% depending on the country and it's highly inefficient. It's actually one of the biggest  reasons for delays in construction. - Mateo About Our Guests: Mateo Zimmermann Mateo Zimmermann is Investment Manager at CEMEX Ventures, responsible for the Corporate Venture Capital Investments in startups in the Construction technology space. Before joining CEMEX Ventures, Mateo worked at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from 2013 to 2017 as a Management Consultant, where he promoted to Project Leader. He previously worked at StepOne as an Advisor for startups and corporates in their Digital Strategies. Before that he worked as an Investment Analyst in Private Equity and Corporate Debt at the Asset Management division of Arcano. He also worked for UBS and Electrolux Group. Mateo has a double degree in Engineering and Management. He graduated as MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management at Technische Universität Berlin (Germany) and obtained a Master in Management at ESCP Europe (Paris, France). He was born in Madrid (Spain) and has both the Spanish and German citizenship. CEMEX Ventures The global economy has endured a tough 2022. With decades-high inflation sapping post-lockdown spending and pushing central banks to hike borrowing costs at an unprecedented clip to bring it under control. Yet despite poor projections and an overall decline in VC funding, 2023 represents an optimistic year for startups in the ConTech sector. Predictions point to trailblazing new technologies and business models entering the industry to improve sustainability and reduce the global carbon footprint. That's why CEMEX Ventures, the corporate venture capital and open innovation unit of CEMEX, goes beyond simply investing. Since 2017, CEMEX Ventures develops relationships between entrepreneurs, investors, CEMEX, and other corporations in order to revolutionize the construction industry as we know it today. Chris Bone Chris is CEO and co-founder of Modulous, the construction technology company that was formed to address the global housing crisis while reducing the climate impact of real estate development. Chris has 25 years' experience in the construction industry, having managed businesses across consulting, manufacturing, and construction. At Modulous he is responsible for all aspects of the company's growth and development in the UK, Europe, and the USA. Modulous Modulous was founded in 2018 by a team of construction, technology, and manufacturing specialists to create an asset-light model for the design and delivery of sustainable homes. Its integrated digital and physical product suite is designed to make the whole construction cycle - from feasibility right through to delivery on site - more efficient and effective. Its software platform generates optimised schemes based on a Kit of Parts, which is manufactured within the supply chain, removing the need for dedicated factories. The Kit of Parts is a standardised set of assemblies providing a high-performance net-zero modular housing system, delivered in half the time of traditional housebuilding, with 70% less waste and 60% lower embodied carbon. Modulous has offices in London and Seattle and is the first globally scalable technology solution to address both the worldwide housing crisis and escalating climate emergency. Tim Davies Tim has held Chief Executive & Board roles across a variety of sectors including green-tech, retail & service-providers working with both corporates and start-ups. He has a proven track record of identifying and delivering new business opportunities and considerable value creation including 20 years' experience working for PE & VC-backed businesses. Now, as CEO of HiiROC, Tim and his team have developed a technology with a potentially transformational impact on Climate Change.  HiiROC A transformational new technology for affordable, clean hydrogen production using world leading proprietary plasma technology. HiiROC's Thermal Plasma Electrolysis (TPE) uses renewable (or grid) electricity to split hydrocarbons (biomethane, flare gas, natural gas, propane, etc) into zero-emission Hydrogen and inert solid Carbon Black (i.e. without producing CO2). TPE works at a fraction of the cost of Water Electrolysis, without the CO2 emissions of Steam Methane Reforming and is scalable from micro onsite (saving transport & storage costs) to industrial scale. The highly versatile technology is being piloted globally in 2023 across the hydrogen sectors from industrial decarbonisation to transport to grid blending and power management whilst also being used for flare gas mitigation and CO2 reduction using biomethane. TRUE HOUSE STORIES W/ CRAZY P # 090 - PART 1 Todd and Baron formed the band after meeting at the Nottingham University. The band's sound incorporates soul music, disco and house music. By 2002 the band expanded to include bassist Tim Davies, percussionist Mav Kendricks, and vocalist Danielle Moore. Todd explained the origin of the band name: "A flat mate of mine had a record called 'loco pinga' which roughly translates to Crazy Penis, we were going to call ourselves loco pinga but once we told people that, they liked crazy penis better for the shock value.” They were signed by Manchester label Paper Recordings and have since released six albums and several singles, starting with "Digging Deeper" in 1996. They built up a strong fanbase in Australia where they have toured several times.

Tim Davies calls himself “really an arranger that fell into orchestrating,” but that barely begins to describe the active and successful musical life that he leads. Born and educated in Australia, now based in Los Angeles, the Grammy-nominated and Annie-winning musician splits his time between orchestrating for features, television, and video games; composing his own scores; and conducting and arranging for orchestras all around the globe. Tim's film and TV credits as lead orchestrator and/or conductor include Frozen and Frozen 2, both Ant-Man movies, The Lego Movie 2, La La Land, Trolls, and The Peanuts Movie. He's prolific in the world of video games, including God of War, Infamous, Sims, the Resistance and Batman franchises, Spider-man, and Halo: Infinite. He's a busy conductor in concert halls and other live venues specializing in live to picture scores, and we haven't even mentioned all the special projects he's arranged for productions like the BBC Proms and Academy Awards. And if that wasn't enough, that pair of Grammy nominations were for his own big band recordings, where he not only composed the music, but played the drums, as well. Despite his busy schedule, Tim not only finds time to write extensively about his experience and approaches on his web site, timusic.net, but counts it as one of the most important things that he does. The series of articles about the craft of orchestration — complete with illustrated examples — numbers well into the dozens, and explores related subjects like conducting, jazz voicing, and — our favorite — music notation software. Philip Rothman and David MacDonald have a wide-ranging conversation with Tim in which all of those topics are explored. We start with Tim's early days as a student, where he made his own opportunities, and how his initiative and innate musicality combined with a relentless pursuit of practicality — along with a healthy dose of keyboard macros — has served him well as he worked his way to being one of the most sought-after professionals in the business.
