In this Palm Sunday message, Beccy Pitts compares two contrasting kings. Firstly King Xerxes mentioned in the book of Esther would have been the kind of king that the Jewish people would have had in mind when King Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem. Although Jesus and Xerxes were similar in their ultimate authority, ownership and responsibility, they were very different. Jesus was humble whereas Xerxes grand, Jesus was perfect whereas Xerxes was flawed, and Jesus was approachable whereas Xerxes was not. Finally Jesus is an eternal King whereas Xerxes was only finite. The question Beccy poses in this message is an important one, is Jesus your king? Secondly, is he king in every area of your life? -------- For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In spite of business liquidation and a divorce, award-winning f:Entrepreneur Beccy Dickson and now ex-husband Macey Mitchell decided to remain business partners, founding Branded Bio, which supplies sustainable walls and backdrops full of living green plants and flowers for events, to interior designers and even to cover electric vehicle chargers and furniture. In fact it was a living plant-covered bus touring round Westminster in London that sparked Beccy's appearance on the podcast.Stuck on holiday on the island of Madeira during an enforced extended Covid lockdown, Beccy and Macey spent time talking about where and what next, and settling a future path. But if that makes being a female entrepreneur sound a bed of roses, Beccy is quick to point out the graft behind the spectacular living walls that now make up the mainstay of their business.Beccy didn't have a clear route to becoming an award-winning small business owner. She left full-time education aged 15, with few formal qualifications. Through family connections, Macey helped her land a job with a small wine branding business, where a mentor believed in her potential and encouraged her further. It wasn't until she was a mum that Beccy returned to college to study for her GCSEs, initially thinking she'd like to train as a teacher. Across the years she has worked variously in sales, marketing and as a creative director, but it was a chance commission that led Beccy to find her passion. The print production agency she and Macey were running was asked to quote to brand a living wall and suddenly her interest was sparked and her outlook on life changed.Beccy is candid that her cousin, a long-time champion of sustainability, now teases her about being green and the awards she has won for it. Beccy jokes she may be an accidental sustainability passionista.Creating living green backdrops can use 1000 plants, all of which have to be looked after and watered to remain looking good. It's hard physical work that requires high energy levels on top of all the usual business worries. When she's not juggling family demands in a multi-generational house alongside the business office in the back garden, Beccy goes to the gym and swims to stay strong. She wants to pass on sustainability lessons to the next gen, including her children. And Beccy urges everyone to try to make a difference to the planet's future."We all have to do our little bit," she says.Links mentioned in the podcastBranded Bio websiteBranded Bio Instagramf:EntrepreneurSmall Business BritainSME business population (Table C)You might also like to listen to:Mark Sumner, Leeds School of Design at Leeds University S1 E6Rachel Warren, professor of global change and environmental biology S1 E7Content © Sandra KessellOriginal music © Lyze KessellEmail Hello@myPro-GRESS.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Wilding Cider, founded by Sam and Beccy Leach in 2019, uses Regenerative farming practices and a “rural method” to cider making. Based in Somerset the culinary skills of Sam blend with Beccy's Sommelier palate. Their dedication to traditional orchards and natural fermentations has led to the creation of their standout orchard based ciders and perrys. This process sets Wilding apart, showcasing a commitment to purity, sustainability, and the land. Beccy and Same Leach The Orchard at Wilding Size & Scope: 7.5 acres at the home orchard and additional rented orchards. Varieties: Kingston Black, Stoke Red, Porter's Perfection, and so many more. Regenerative Practices Sam in the home orchard The orchards provide the perfect environment for Wilding's cider-making, ensuring low-intervention fermentations that align with the Rural Method philosophy. What is the Rural Method of Cider Making Sam credits Skyborry cider in Wales for coining the phrase “rural Method”. He explains in this chat that at Wilding Cider Rural Method is an energy-efficient, traditional approach to crafting naturally sweet ciders. It utilizes: Cold Winter Fermentations: Utilizing natural temperatures to slow fermentation. Low Nitrogen Content: Achieved by using unfertilized orchards for balanced fermentations. Minimal Intervention: Avoiding filtration, sulfites, or pasteurization. This method produces clean, complex ciders that capture the essence of Somerset orchards. Signature Wilding Ciders and Perry Wilding Cider showcases the Rural Method through their unique blends and single varietals: Symphony: A bittersweet blend. Comics: Multi-orchard cider built on Browns and Yarlington. Single Varietals: Stoke Red and Kingston Black. Perry Cider: Carefully macerated to achieve depth and balance. These ciders are celebrated for their balance of tannins, acidity, and natural sweetness, hallmarks of the Rural Method. You know, it was appropriate that just prior to recording this interview Trinity received the results of some recent blood work and was surprised to find that her Estrogen levels were at ZERO and my FSH was at 118 and these things together signified that she is "officially" post-menopausal. The funny story is that she sent the results some of her BFFs with a big arrow pointing to "post-menopausal" comment and each had a different reaction...one said, "HOORAY!!!" Another stated, "I don't know how to feel about that." Another, asked HER how she felt about it. This just emphasizes the societal messaging that menopausal women are old, unnecessary, irrelevant, unattractive or that our life...no WE are hopeless and maybe useless as we age! Well, fuck that shit! LOL We, honestly, feel like menopause is a milestone to be celebrated and today our guest, Beccy Freeman, helps us understand that while menopause and midlife can, perhaps, mean an end to an era...it can also be a beautiful beginning to a new adventure and FREEDOM! Beccy is a Women's Health and Lifestyle Coach and supports women who are making this transition to survive and thrive in the second half of life. She is passionate in her belief that perimenopause and menopause don't have to rule your life and that with, holistic supports in place, you can move through this time of change and transition and find ever more purpose, passion and power on the other side. Beccy uses her signature framework of wellness, mindset and meaning to help her clients restore their vitality and redefine their lives and sense of self. In this episode, Beccy teaches us: Perimenopause can sometimes start in mid-30's and go until our late 50's. Menopause is marked by going 12 consecutive months without a menstrual cycle. Essential oils can help alleviate some menopausal symptoms...including lavender for sleep, clary sage for hormonal imbalances (period pain, aches and cramps), geranium for mood and frankincense enhances or amplifies the therapeutic effects all essential oils. Menopause can be a time to grieve and of loss of what was...but, also a time of gain...and that brings with it FREEDOM to not give a shit! In our third interview following the 2023 natural bodybuilding season, we sit down with another historic champion with a truly outlier series of performances. This time, Australian phenom Beccy Pateman joined the Erics on Iron Culture to discuss her season, which culminated not only in her winning her WNBF pro card in both Figure and Fit Body, but also winning the WNBF pro world fit body title. As we've discussed, for an athlete to turn pro in the WNBF and win a pro world title in the same season is incredibly rare. Further, the weekend prior to WNBF worlds, Beccy won the Professional Natual Olympia Figure title in the INBA/PNBA. Winning two world titles, relatively early in one's career, in two different federations, and in two different divisions nonetheless, is an even more incredible feat, which only a handful of athletes have ever done in the history of natural bodybuilding. Indeed, the athletes who have done so have, in most cases, gone on to become legends of natural bodybuilding. How did Beccy do it? What did it take for her to get to this point in her career and what is in store for her? Becky Griffin is a co-founder of Caya Shobo, an Ayahuasca and plant medicine healing center in Peru. She has been immersed in a path of self-discovery and learning with the Shipibo plant medicine tradition since 2008, and she joins me to talk about her extensive experience dieting various Master plants under the guidance of high-level Shipibo maestro and maestra Onányas.  Becky is a facilitator and healer for people seeking healing and growth from plant medicines like Ayahuasca and master plant diets. She has served as an apprentice curandera of the Shipibo tradition since 2012 and currently holds small ceremonial gatherings for experienced dieters. On this episode we talk about: Ayahuasca shamanism.   Beccy & Ben's personal exploration with plant medicine.  The wisdom of Ayahuasca: shifting between light and dark energy.  Mind-centered talk therapy vs. body & spirit-centered plant medicine.  Addressing physical ailments with plant medicine. Reconnecting with the spirit of nature.  What is a “plant dieta” and how does it work?  The synchronicities between nature and humans.  How to establish a relationship with the consciousness of plants. Ayahuasca is a diagnostic tool.  The benefits of going to Peru for plant medicine treatment. Healing at the cellular level with plant medicine.  How long does it take to heal with plant medicine? The false light of Ayahuasca and other plants.  The pitfalls of exploring plant medicine with inexperienced healers.  The downfalls of placing spiritual teachers on pedestals.  Be your own teacher - becoming responsible for your own healing path.  Integrating all parts of yourself - mental, spiritual, light, shadow. The light and dark sides of cannabis and tobacco. Healing vs. coping. Beccy's favorite Master Plants.  An opportunity to travel to Peru with Ben for a retreat.   Links from this episode: Caya Shobo Website Caya Shobo Instagram Caya Shobo Facebook Join the Evolving Man Brotherhood circle And finally, a message from Becky: “I believe that at this time we are all being called to embark on a process of transformation, to heal the wounds and confusions of the past, and to start to realize our potential to live in genuine joy and balance. We each must find our own true self beneath the markings of trauma and conditioning that we carry and discover and integrate the ‘medicine' within those challenges. The Shipibo medicine tradition and the master healing plants are living wonders from an ancient world. My own search for healing and greater meaning in life has brought me to this sacred path. And through supporting many others on a similar journey, I have seen that it is possible to slowly but surely nurture a deep connection with the master teacher plants and their songs, and thereby foster a greater harmony and understanding within, while restoring our rightful relationships with all of life. It is my honour to assist and support others on this blessed journey of discovery.” ~ Becky  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
