Don't know if you want a bridal portrait session? Don't even know what a bridal session is? Then this episode is definitely for you. Tune in because we take a bridal session litmus test asking these nine important questions to see if a bridal session is something you need to do!1. Is your dress incredibly unique or important to you?2. Do you want to take every opportunity you can to wear your dress and feel like a princess?3. Are you shy or uncomfortable in front of the camera, especially when there's an audience?4. Do you want to take your bridal portraits somewhere other than your wedding location?5. Do you want to display a framed bridal portrait for your guests to enjoy on your wedding day (that will later hang in your home)?6. Are you likely to frame/look at/enjoy your bridal portraits as often as you are your engagement and wedding photos?7. Will you (or your mom, grandma, etc.) look back and wish you had more photos of you in your wedding dress?8. Do you want to ensure that you have the best possible connection with your photographer to ensure the best possible photographs on your wedding day?9. Do you really want to test drive that dress to make sure it will hold up to your expectations on your wedding day, OR know if you need to make adjustments (add shoulder straps, skip the underwear, add Spanx, wear a silk slip, order more alterations, etc.)?Buy my Book: https://amzn.to/3m0fpldYouTube Playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXHiwuw6BPvLkmEwe7CTws9cPRHcuNkbMYou can find more info at: Completeweddinged.com, atagirlphoto.com Join the Complete Wedding Photography Community:Facebook.com/groups/completeweddingphotographyConnect with Tammy: Instagram(book), Instagram (wedding photos), Tiktok, Pinterest, YouTube, TwitterThis podcast is meant to help couples, like you, have NO REGRETS about their choice of wedding photographer or the resulting wedding images. This episode reflects on one of my real-life weddings. I recount all of the tiny little landmines wherein the couple (or the planner) set me up for failure and made me take pause, problem-solve, or work around something that caused a delay or remission in my workflow. More specifically, these challenges were:Not having the opportunity to build a rapport with the couple and wedding party;Bride not being familiar with my documentation style; An extremely short ceremony time with no warning;Starting the bouquet toss without me; andMy contracted time to shoot was not well aligned with the timeline.Buy my Book: https://amzn.to/3m0fpld You can find more info at:Completeweddinged.com, atagirlphoto.com Join the Complete Wedding Photography Community:Facebook.com/groups/completeweddingphotographyConnect with Tammy: Instagram(book), Instagram (wedding photos), Tiktok, Pinterest, YouTube, TwitterThis podcast is meant to help couples, like you, have NO REGRETS about their choice of wedding photographer or the resulting wedding images. I don't know why more professional photographers don't take a stand and speak out for photojournalistic wedding photography. It's sad that more and more couples' wedding days are being treated like a movie set, a Broadway play, or a styled shoot. Couples are not being permitted to just remember actual, organic memories that happened on their wedding days because THERE ARE NONE. Basically, every image captured during the day was just set up by the photographer to ensure that “they got the shot.” In this episode, I make crazy, unrealistic comparisons of wedding photography to current events/news photography, sports photography, war photography, and even landscape photography to help paint the picture of how this type of wedding photography is so silly and unacceptable. I sifted through wedding photography questions on Reddit.com and provide my answers to you here. The questions I answer are:· Is it feasible to ask your photographer to avoid taking pictures of a certain person at your wedding?· Wedding photographer payment timing? Is it common to pay in full before the actual wedding even occurs?· And finally, one Redditor has narrowed it down to two photographers but can't make up her mind as there is a tiny detail about each photographer she'd like to change. Is it acceptable for the Redditor to ask the photographers to change something about the way they shoot or edit to shoot this wedding?Buy my Book: https://amzn.to/3m0fpld You can find more info at:Completeweddinged.com, atagirlphoto.com Join the Complete Wedding Photography Community:Facebook.com/groups/completeweddingphotographyConnect with Tammy: Instagram(book), Instagram (wedding photos), Tiktok, Pinterest, YouTube, TwitterThis podcast is meant to help couples, like you, have NO REGRETS about their choice of wedding photographer or the resulting wedding images. A wedding photographer's job shouldn't be pinning on your groom's boutonniere, lining up your wedding party for the procession, cueing the music for your grand entrance, showing you how to cut the cake, or rushing your hair and makeup artist so you get married on time. A wedding photographer's job is to document these things as they happen either in order or in chaos. However, these are some of the positions we are put in on wedding days. WHAT HAPPENS when you solve these problems ahead of your wedding day and allow your photographer to do their job? You receive better images.Buy my Book: https://amzn.to/3m0fpld You can find more info at:Completeweddinged.com, atagirlphoto.com Join the Complete Wedding Photography Community:Facebook.com/groups/completeweddingphotographyConnect with Tammy: Instagram(book), Instagram (wedding photos), Tiktok, Pinterest, YouTube, TwitterThis podcast is meant to help couples, like you, have NO REGRETS about their choice of wedding photographer or the resulting wedding images. Your wedding day is not a movie set; it isn't a styled shoot and should never be treated as such by your photographer. Why is this important? Because you want to be able to reflect back fondly on your wedding day and remember authentic memories. NOT fabricated moments the photographer created for you. You don't want to be directed through each tender moment of your day. You want them to happen organically and flow freely and then captured by your photographer, NOT controlled by your photographer.Fearless Photographers International Group: https://www.fearlessphotographers.com/Buy my Book: https://amzn.to/3m0fpld You can find more info at:Completeweddinged.com, atagirlphoto.com Join the Complete Wedding Photography Community:Facebook.com/groups/completeweddingphotographyConnect with Tammy: Instagram(book), Instagram (wedding photos), Tiktok, Pinterest, YouTube, TwitterAn online course will be launching soon! This podcast is meant to help couples, like you, have NO REGRETS about their choice of wedding photographer or the resulting wedding images. I'm sharing ten practical tips on how to overcome and all but eliminate the fear of hiring a bad wedding photographer! You DON'T want a photographer who's going to back out on you at the last minute, one who's just going to decide to not show up at all, one who's going to take a year-and-half to deliver your image gallery, one whose camera will break two weeks before your wedding and then advise you they're not going to be replacing it. You DON'T want to hire a wedding photographer who will lose all the images from their second shooter, one that is just going to farm your wedding out to someone even less experienced than they are and pocket a few hundred dollars, one who's going to deliver an image gallery that looks NOTHING like their online portfolio or Instagram feed, or one that is a straight up crook who is going to run off with all your money! Follow the tips on this episode to increase the likelihood that you're going to hire a GREAT wedding photographer who is going to deliver a GREAT wedding experience!! When you are looking to hire a wedding day photographer, you should definitely be inquiring about the experience they will treat you to between the day you hire them and the day your wedding ceremony happens. This interim period shouldn't be filled with absence and awkward silence. Your photographer should utilize this time to get to know you, educate you, and treat to and your partner to multiple gifts. More is usually better and that same token applies to wedding photography. I lay out all the benefits of having two photographers to cover your wedding day and give precise examples of how this benefits the story to be told by making it more dynamic, how it makes it a more complete coverage, how it mitigates equipment failures and unintended interference from your guests, and how a lot of times, you can end up with two lead photographers rather than a lead shooter and a second shooter. [S2/EP64] A Photographer's Fitness Level & Your Photos—Are these two things related? Should someone shopping for a wedding photographer be concerned with a potential photographer's fitness level? Will their fitness level have any impact on the images you receive? How about on the service they provide? How hard they work? What perspectives they shoot from? How much discomfort they're willing to endure? My answer is yes. You should always be concerned about a potential wedding photographer's fitness level and use it as one of the measuring tools when shopping for your wedding photographer.Buy my Book: https://amzn.to/3m0fpld You can find more info at:Completeweddinged.com, atagirlphoto.com Join the Complete Wedding Photography Community:Facebook.com/groups/completeweddingphotographyConnect with Tammy: Instagram(book), Instagram (wedding photos), Tiktok, Pinterest, YouTube, TwitterAn online course will be launching soon! This podcast is meant to help couples, like you, have NO REGRETS about their choice of wedding photographer or the resulting wedding images. In this episode, I address a particular guest's unnecessary rude comments made during a wedding day regarding some of the bride's style choices. Had these comments been relayed to the bride on the wedding day, they would have been detrimental to her happiness and mental well-being on one of the BEST DAYS OF HER LIFE! (And let me tell you, she was living one of the best days of her life! I know, because I've known her her ENTIRE life!) Marriage is not the answer or the “fix” to a one-way relationship. Just because you make something legal or take a vow before God does not mean that will make someone change or make something better that you believe in.
