Wedding dress designer Hayley Paige (of recent Super Bowl fame!) and luxury wedding planner Julia Noelle Ferrigno join Dinner for Shoes host Sarah Wasilak for an unfiltered conversation about the modern wedding industry through the lens of fashion, power, and self-expression.We kick things off with Hayley's viral CNN moment imagining Taylor Swift's wedding dress, unpacking what celebrity weddings really teach brides about symbolism versus spectacle. From there, the conversation dives deep into how today's brides are breaking free from tradition.Hayley opens up about fighting to reclaim the rights to her own name, how that experience led to founding A Girl You Might Know Foundation, and what brides (and creators) should understand about protecting creative identity in a corporate-driven industry. Together, Hayley and Julia share insider designer-planner tea, overlooked fashion details that can make or break a wedding day, and the emotional weight brides often place on The Dress.Plus: inclusivity in bridal (what's real vs. performative), practical advice for brides planning far in advance, and rewriting outdated wedding “rules.”Whether you're engaged, wedding-curious, or just obsessed with fashion and power dynamics behind the scenes, this episode goes far beyond the Pinterest version of bridal.THESE SHOESMargaux The Cluny SlingbackTHIS OUTFITShop my lookHouse Of Harlow 1960 x Revolve dressNina bagVintage earringsTHESE CHAPTERS00:00 INTRO02:10 THE OUTFIT BEHIND THE SHOES03:32 HAYLEY PAIGE AND JULIA FERRIGNO INTERVIEW46:34 WEDDING INDUSTRY TAKEAWAYSTHIS PRODUCTIONis created, written, hosted, and produced by Sarah Wasilak.is creative directed and executive produced by Megan Kai.is tech supervised by Nick.includes photos and videos in chronological order by Julia Ferrigno, Hayley Paige, She Is Cheval, A Girl You Might Know Foundation, and Sarah Wasilak.references A Girl You Might Know Foundation. is made with love.Dinner for Shoes is a podcast about style and identity, bridging the gap for anyone who has ever felt like fashion is an exclusive world. Brides keep asking for the same things: a jacket that looks great in photos, a robe that feels special, and thoughtful “something blue” gifts that don't feel cheesy. We sat down with Kamryn Gracie's Bridal to share how those recurring requests sparked Something Blue and Co, a sister brand dedicated to day-of essentials, custom jackets, and playful extras you'll actually use.We walk through the origin story: constant buzz at wedding shows about the team's denim jackets, shoppers looking for garters and keepsake handkerchiefs, and the decision to launch fast by Valentine's Day. Kamryn explains what sells and why—custom last names, Bible verses, and phrases that live beyond the wedding day—and how the catalog spans white, black, and classic denim, leather, pearls, fringe, and more. You'll also hear why having the same assortment online and in-store matters for group planning, gifting, and keeping the look consistent from getting ready to the sparkler exit.If you're hunting for trends, pearls remain strong, now stepping off jackets and into cozy travel-ready sets like pearl-accent sweatsuits. We talk Nashville vibes, photo-friendly styling, and the practical side of growth: SEO, fulfillment, and how wedding shows act as a testing ground for new drops. The energy is entrepreneurial and real—big ideas balanced by logistics, with a focus on making shopping easy and fun for brides and their people.Ready to build your look with smart, personal details? One standout tip? Don't overload yourself with venues — pick four or five and stop there. Decision fatigue is real!A natural planner, Éadaoin already has most of her 2027 to-do list mapped out (we're impressed), but she also reflects on the balance that comes with having a more Type B partner, and how John reminded her to pause, enjoy the engagement, and savour the moment before the spreadsheets fully take over.A must-listen for anyone recently engaged, deep in planning, or simply dreaming of the big day!

Exposing Big Food, Big Pharma, and the Path to True Health In this week's episode, Marcus, Melanie meet with Calley Means — entrepreneur, healthcare reform advocate, and co-founder of TrueMed. Calley has been making waves in the national conversation about health, nutrition, and the systems driving chronic disease. As a former consultant to some of the largest food and pharmaceutical companies in the world, Calley offers a rare insider's perspective on how financial incentives can prioritize profits over people. Now, through TrueMed, he's working to flip the script — helping Americans use tax-free health savings accounts to pay for food, exercise, wellness coaching, and other preventative health measures. Calley is also the co-author (with his sister) of the bestselling book Good Energy, which explores the connection between metabolism and health, and he's an investor in companies tackling metabolic health, mental health, and longevity. A graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Business School, Calley also co-founded Anomalie, a custom bridal brand later acquired by David's Bridal. In this powerful and eye-opening conversation, Calley shares: •How his insider view of Big Food and Big Pharma shaped his mission to reform healthcare •The shocking incentives that drive the chronic disease crisis in America •How TrueMed empowers people to use HSAs and FSAs for healthy living •The link between metabolism, mental health, and performance — and why it matters for every American •Why systemic change requires both personal responsibility and policy reform Whether you're a health professional, a parent trying to improve your family's nutrition, or simply curious about the future of healthcare, this episode will challenge assumptions and offer practical solutions. Don't miss this episode with Calley Means — a candid, informed, and inspiring discussion on how we can take back control of our health. In this episode you will hear: • [Marcus] We turned a vegan into a meat-eater. A vegetarian was working at our house and smelled [Mama Holly's Prime Rib] and said “What is that?” And I said that's prime rib and said “I'm a vegetarian.” I said “I don't know man. I think you might give this one a whirl.” (3:20) • Pharmaceutical is about 50% of TV advertising. (5:50) • The 2 ways you get researchers money is just research grants (that's their life blood) and direct bribes. (7:10)  • Anxiety was created as a sub-category of medicine in the 1970s, explicitly by pharmaceutical companies who had Valium to sell. (8:21) • If you can make obesity a national standard and tell people it's not you fault and jab them for a lifetime – that's a profitable patient. (18:33) • 25% of women are on some kind of psychiatric drugs, That produces reoccurring appointments and prescriptions. (20:01) • A doctor is a medical drug doctor. They're a drug prescriber. Who made that rule? That's not how it is in other countries. (22:51) • [Marcus] If you tell yourself your body is a racecar, or a fighter jet, or a monster truck, what kind of fuel are you putting in that sucker? (36:40) • If you can get seed oils, processed sugar and processed grains out of you house, that gets you about 80% there [the single most important thing a household could do.] • I think people should be more scared. I think we should have apps and blood tests and doctors telling people “You're not gonna make it through your life to meet your grandkids.” (41:57) • [Farmers] have low prices, high input costs, more weather challenges, trade issues that aren't their fault. They're taking it from all fronts. (59:05) • The system is built for drugs, not medicine right now. Drugs are profitable, healing is not profitable. Thriving is not profitable.
