La verdad es que aquí en Luxemburgo no nos podemos quejar, porque llevamos varias semanas con bastante sol. Eso sí, parece que a partir de hoy mismo van a volver las nubes. Algo normal, sobre todo si tenemos en cuenta que hace mucho que no llueve. Todo lo contrario que en España, donde el último mes ha llovido muchísimo. Pero bueno, hoy no vamos a hablar del clima, sino de una polémica que se ha vivido en mi país, y que tiene que ver con la heredera al trono, la Princesa Leonor, la hija mayor del Rey Felipe VI. Enseguida te doy más detalles de lo que ha sucedido, pero primero me gustaría contarte algunas cosas sobre el papel del rey y sobre lo que dice la ley sobre su heredero o heredera. Para empezar, debes saber que España es una monarquía parlamentaria. Eso significa que hay un rey, pero que no gobierna el país. El poder está en manos del Parlamento y del presidente del Gobierno. El rey tiene un papel representativo y simbólico: firma leyes, recibe a otros jefes de Estado, y representa a España en eventos oficiales, pero no toma decisiones políticas. Como te decía antes, actualmente, el rey de España es Felipe VI, que subió al trono en 2014, cuando su padre, Juan Carlos I, abdicó. El verbo “abdicar” significa renunciar a la corona, dejar de ser rey por iniciativa propia. Juan Carlos I abdicó para dejar paso a su hijo Felipe, que está casado con la reina Letizia, una mujer que no pertenecía a la realeza, sino que trabajaba como periodista cuando conoció al entonces Príncipe Felipe. Del matrimonio entre Felipe y Letizia han nacido dos hijas, Leonor y Sofía. La heredera del trono es la hija mayor del rey, Leonor. Su título oficial es Princesa de Asturias, que es el título tradicional para los futuros reyes o reinas de España. Si todo sigue igual, cuando su padre deje de ser rey, Leonor será la próxima reina. Y es que en España, la ley dice que el trono pasa de padres a hijos, y si hay varios hijos, el hijo varón tiene prioridad sobre las hijas. Pero como Felipe solo tiene hijas, Leonor es la primera en la línea de sucesión. Así que, ya lo sabes, en el futuro España podría tener una reina, y será Leonor de Borbón. Pero antes debe realizar la misma formación militar que hizo su padre cuando era príncipe. Esta formación tendrá una duración de tres años, primero en la Academia General Militar, después en la Escuela Naval Militar y, por último, en la Academia General del Aire. Eso quiere decir que pasará por los tres ejércitos, tierra, mar y aire. Ahora mismo se encuentra en la segunda fase, y el pasado mes de enero se embarcó en el buque escuela Juan Sebastián de Elcano, un barco en el que se formará como marinera durante una travesía de cinco meses en la que visitará gran parte de los países de América Latina. El nombre del buque, o del barco, como prefieras, aparece en la noticia que vamos a escuchar. Recuerda que se llama Juan Sebastián Elcano. Y también aparecen dos nombres que debes conocer. El primero es Zarzuela. Cuando hablamos de Zarzuela nos referimos al Palacio de la Zarzuela, donde viven los Reyes de España. Y el segundo nombre es la Casa Real. Así llamamos a la institución que representan los reyes, la Casa Real. Bien, pues con todo esto en mente, ya estamos preparados para escuchar la noticia por primera vez. Aunque se te escapen algunos detalles, estoy seguro de que vas a entender perfectamente en qué ha consistido la polémica. Aquí tienes la noticia de Radio Nacional de España. “La Casa Real no entra en la polémica en el mismo día en el que quita hierro también a la publicación de unas fotografías de la Princesa Leonor en bikini obtenidas cuando los guardiamarinas del Juan Sebastián Elcano aprovechaban uno de los escasos momentos de tiempo libre en la escala de Montevideo tras dos semanas de trabajo en la travesía por el Atlántico desde Salvador de Bahía. Volvemos contigo, Lucía Yeste. Sí, la verdad es que eran unas fotos muy cotizadas, muy esperadas por los fotógrafos, ya que en 19 años que tiene la Princesa Leonor es la primera vez que aparece en bikini. El paparazzi español, que se trasladó a Montevideo esperando la escala de Elcano el pasado 5 de marzo, tomó estas fotografías y las ha intentado vender desde entonces. El precio desorbitado que pedía, al parecer más de 200.000 euros, pues ha hecho que le haya costado más de un mes colocarlas. En la revista aparece la princesa con otros compañeros bañándose en una de las playas de Montevideo durante esa escala en la capital uruguaya, donde por aquella época hacían más de 33 grados. Desde Zarzuela, pues lógicamente debían conocer la existencia de estas fotos, aunque no las habían visto, y hoy no hacen ningún comentario.” Si no hay ningún comentario desde el Palacio de la Zarzuela, es que los Reyes no han querido decir nada sobre la polémica de las fotos. Porque esa es la clave de la noticia, que un fotógrafo viajó hasta Uruguay para captar una imagen de la Princesa Leonor en bikini, en traje de baño de dos piezas, una para la parte superior del cuerpo y otra para la parte inferior. Dicho con otras palabras, la Casa Real le ha quitado hierro a la polémica. Y la expresión quitar hierro significa restar o quitar importancia a un problema, no darle importancia. Es como decir "no es para tanto" o "no te preocupes". Pero vamos a verlo en algunos ejemplos. – Juan intentó quitar hierro al accidente diciendo que solo fue un rasguño. Por si no lo sabes, un rasguño es como una herida muy pequeña. Juan no le dio importancia al accidente, le quitó hierro. Otro ejemplo. – Aunque era una noticia grave, el político le quitó hierro para no alarmar a la gente. En este caso, fue una estrategia para tranquilizar al pueblo. Le quitó importancia a la noticia delante de la gente para que no entraran en pánico. Vamos ahora con la palabra guardiamarina, que es una persona que se está formando para ser oficial de la marina, del ejército del mar, también llamado armada. O sea, el barco paró en Barcelona antes de seguir hacia Italia. – Nuestro vuelo tiene una escala en París de tres horas. Es decir, tenemos que esperar tres horas en el aeropuerto de París para coger el siguiente vuelo. Es una parada entre nuestro punto de origen y nuestro punto de destino. En cuanto al término travesía, significa viaje, especialmente por mar. También puede usarse en sentido figurado para hablar de una experiencia larga o difícil. Te pongo un ejemplo con las dos posibilidades. – La travesía por el Atlántico duró diez días. Aquí significa viaje. – Empezar una nueva vida en otro país fue una travesía emocional. En este caso, la travesía es una experiencia complicada. ¿Vale? Seguimos. Una cosa está cotizada cuando es muy valorada o apreciada, ya sea por su precio o por su importancia. Esta era fácil, ¿verdad? Pues relacionado con los paparazzi, algunas de sus fotos tienen un precio desorbitado, o sea, un precio exageradamente alto, fuera de lo normal. – Ese bolso tiene un precio desorbitado, no me lo voy a comprar. – Pagaron un precio desorbitado por una entrada al concierto. Y es que tenían muchas ganas de ver a ese grupo en directo. Por último, en la noticia aparece el verbo colocar con un significado que no es el habitual de ordenar o dejar algo en su sitio. No, aquí colocar quiere decir vender un producto, especialmente cuando no es fácil de vender. -El vendedor logró colocar todos los teléfonos antiguos que tenía en stock. Es decir, logró venderlos, aunque ya eran modelos pasados de moda. -No fue fácil colocar ese coche usado, pero al final apareció un comprador. El coche era difícil de vender, pero lo consiguió. Entendido, ¿no? Pues vamos a escuchar la noticia por segunda vez. “La Casa Real no entra en la polémica en el mismo día en el que quita hierro también a la publicación de unas fotografías de la Princesa Leonor en bikini obtenidas cuando los guardiamarinas del Juan Sebastián Elcano aprovechaban uno de los escasos momentos de tiempo libre en la escala de Montevideo tras dos semanas de trabajo en la travesía por el Atlántico desde Salvador de Bahía. Sí, la verdad es que eran unas fotos muy cotizadas, muy esperadas por los fotógrafos, ya que en 19 años que tiene la Princesa Leonor es la primera vez que aparece en bikini. El paparazzi español, que se trasladó a Montevideo esperando la escala de Elcano el pasado 5 de marzo, tomó estas fotografías y las ha intentado vender desde entonces. Antes de repasar las palabras que hemos aprendido hoy, me gustaría explicarte lo que dice la ley española sobre tomar fotos a personas famosas en lugares públicos. En España, como en muchos otros países, existe una ley que protege la imagen y la privacidad de las personas, incluso si son personas conocidas. Esta ley forma parte del derecho a la intimidad y al honor, que está recogido en la Constitución Española y en leyes especiales. Esto significa que nadie puede tomar fotos de otra persona y publicarlas sin su permiso, si esas imágenes afectan a su vida privada o su dignidad. Esto se aplica también a los famosos, aunque estén en lugares públicos. Por ejemplo: Si un actor está en una playa pública con su familia, no se pueden publicar esas fotos sin su autorización, aunque el sitio sea público. Si una cantante está caminando sola por la calle, su imagen también está protegida. La ley permite publicar imágenes de personas famosas solo si están haciendo algo de interés público o si están en un acto oficial. Por ejemplo: Si un político está dando un discurso en la calle, sí se pueden hacer fotos. Si una actriz va a un festival de cine y posa en la alfombra roja, también se pueden publicar esas imágenes. Pero si esa persona está de vacaciones, en su tiempo libre, o en un momento íntimo, su derecho a la privacidad va primero. Si un medio de comunicación o un paparazzi publica fotos privadas sin permiso, la persona afectada puede denunciar, y el tribunal puede obligar a retirar las imágenes, pagar una multa o incluso una indemnización económica. En el caso de nuestra noticia, habrá que esperar para saber si la Casa Real denuncia a la revista que ha publicado las fotos. Si hay alguna novedad, te la contaré en próximos episodios. Equally celebrated for his immersive photo series, the intimacy of his portraits, and his aerial views that conjure a sense of the eternal through selective focus, his compulsion for research drives adjustments to his photographic strategy from one project to the next. In today's show, we unpack the many facets of Claudio's storied career, from his arrival in New York and early documentation of Brooklyn's Hasidic community in the late 1970s to the environmental portraits he made inside Manhattan's infamous Chelsea Hotel, and beyond.  Learn the backstory to his fortuitous connection with master portraitist Philippe Halsman, and the influence this had on his photographic vocabulary. We also discuss Claudio's aerial imagery made from helicopters and drones, and debate the slippery slope between noteworthy content, image quality, and resolution. Guest Bio: Claudio Edinger is one of Brazil's preeminent photographers. After studying economics at Mackenzie University in São Paulo in the early 70s, he turned his attention to photography, and he hasn't stopped since.  Edinger moved to New York City in 1976, and during the 20 years he spent in the US, he completed immersive photo essays about the Hasidic community of Brooklyn, the denizens of Manhattan's Chelsea Hotel, and habitués of LA's Venice Beach. He also freelanced for Brazilian and North American publications such as Veja, Time, Life, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times Magazine, among many others.  The author of more than twenty books, Edinger's photographs have been collected worldwide and exhibited by institutions such as New York's International Center of Photography, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Maison Europeénne de la Photographie in Paris, and the São Paulo Museum of Art, to name but a few. Edinger has received many honors for his work, including the Ernst Haas Award, the Hasselblad Award, the Higashikawa Award, and the Leica Medal of Excellence, which he received twice.  Always seeking new approaches to his work, Edinger has explored a wide range of camera formats and photographic techniques over the course of his career. In 2000, he began working with a large format camera, using selective focus to approximate human vision, and in 2015, he started an exploration of aerial photography—a theme that continues to this day.
