Hey there Cubies! While turn based combat has not gone anywhere, it really did feel that it was begining to be left behind. Especially when you look at some of the bug hitters like Final Fantasy even changing the direction of their combat systems. But games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have really shown us how turn based combat can be evolved. So, this week we take a look back at the history of turn based combat and how it has changed over it's 45 year life span. Crazy to think about that right!-----------------Hosts: Christian & ChrisDon't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show.

Hey there Cubies! This week we have a little update of what we are playing. From Promise Mascot Agency, to Gears 5 we have a lot to talk about. But the main conversation for this week is the concept of replaying games. Not just remakes/remasters but just replaying games from our past and is that something that motivates our choices when it comes to picking what to play next. Do we want to see the same story unfold again? Or would we rather try something new to see the evolution of the genre?-----------------Hosts: Christian & ChrisDon't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show.

Hey there Cubies! Unity is back in the conversation this week. Surprisingly their stock is on the ride once again. Although it is still a pale comparison to what it was in 2021. So, why the change? Well they have a new string of investors backing their endeavors into AI with Unity MUSE. A new tool that will allow users to basically make games using AI. Generate code, sprites, behaviors and more. But here is the big question, what will this do to the gaming community. When all code and art is generate using AI will there be innovation? Looking back at this console it really was made to be enjoyed with others. So many of their biggest games were not single player experiences. Instead they brought families together while simultaneously ripping them apart. Whether its arguing over the rumble pack or getting mad at the rng of Mario Party it was a crazy fun time! ------------------ Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Atlus games has continued to surprise us. We have been on an Atlus kick lately and each one of their games is so different from the last but there are a couple things that persist through out all of them. And that is that they are innovative with captivating stories that have memorable characters with true life issues that are very relatable for the player. And we really dive into the time traveling, Game Of Thrones styled world of Radiant Historia. We both agree that this is the best version of time travel in anny game we have played. And oh man that combat system is so unique mixing turn based, grid based tactics and strategic turn order to make a very interesting experience.  ------------------ Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. With Paper Mario 100 Year Door getting a remaster we have started playing even more games in the Mario RPG genre, like Mario + Luigi Superstar Saga. The rpg Mario games are something special. They show that you can have memorable characters and similar feelings when playing games from completely different genres. Then there were some surprising games that we have recently played as well. Like Pokemon Conquest, a cute Pokemon tactics game that will take 100's of hours to complete as you conquer feudal Japan. Or taking it back to Timesplitters, remember that game? Also, Chris gets deep with an unexpected hit of a game with 1000xResist! -------- Follow the link bellow to go to our various socials and be sure to join the Discord to talk with us and the community directly. For everyone that knows, we are huge fans of spooky games and movies. So it just makes sense that even in summer we are looking for a good thrill. Growing up we both have experience with the Resident Evil franchise, butt for some reason neither of us have actually played the remakes of RE2 or RE3. And man the hype was real! Theses are amazing games, even with a good amount of the game getting cut in RE3. I mean who isn't terrified of being chased constantly and seriously we hate the Lickers! Have to be the one villain design that has stuck with us our whole lives.  -------- Follow the link bellow to go to our various socials and be sure to join the Discord to talk with us and the community directly. Voice control has become a common place item in our day to day lives. With things like Alexa and Siri we are using our voice to turn on lights, search the internet, send messages and find out what song that just was. But when it comes to games voice controls have always been tricky if not just down right broken. But thats not without trying. For a small while there voice controlled games were coming out and testing the boundaries of this technology. But it was quickly realized that this may not really have a place in the world of games. From Hey You Pikachu's complete disregard to what you are saying to the existential ramblings of Seaman it just always felt out of place. So, lets dive into this bizarre mechanic that leaves gamers screaming (even more than usual). -------- Follow the link bellow to go to our various socials and be sure to join the Discord to talk with us and the community directly.
