MetService has issued a slew of heavy rain and wind warnings affecting much of the North Island and the top of the South. MetService's head of weather news Heather Keats spoke to Corin Dann.

Auckland is under an orange heavy rain warning on Friday which started at 6am and people are being urged to plan ahead. Auckland Emergency Management Adam Maggs spoke to Corin Dann.

The Nelson Tasman District is once again under a state of emergency with yet more severe weather on the way. Nelson Tasman Civil Defence Emergency Management spokesperson Paul Shattock spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.

A new state of emergency is in force in the Nelson Tasman area just days after the last one was declared over. Tasman Mayor Tim King spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.

Meteorologist Karl Loots joins Emile Donovan for an updated forecast as heavy rain warnings remain for parts of the North and the top of the South Island.

A heavy rain watch for parts of Tasman District is now in force with a high chance it could yet be upgraded to an orange warning. MetService meteorologist Mmathapelo Makgabutlane spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.

Tropical Storm Chantal is bringing rainbands and tropical-storm-force winds to the Carolinas as it approaches landfall near the South Carolina coast. As of 8:00 PM EDT, Chantal was located 80 miles east-southeast of Charleston, SC, moving north at 7 mph with sustained winds of 45 mph.A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect from South Santee River, SC to Surf City, NC, and a Tropical Storm Watch remains in place from Edisto Beach to South Santee River. Chantal is expected to strengthen slightly before landfall overnight, followed by rapid weakening as it moves inland.Hazards include:Heavy Rainfall: 2–4 inches with isolated amounts up to 6 inches, increasing flash flood risk.Storm Surge: 1–2 feet possible from Edisto Beach to Surf City during high tide.Isolated Tornadoes: Possible tonight and Sunday across eastern SC and NC.Dangerous Surf and Rip Currents: Expected along the coast through the weekend.Stay alert to local National Weather Service updates for impacts specific to your area.

Exhausted locals still recovering from last week's destructive storm and widespread flooding in the top of the South Island are now bracing for another round. Adam Burns reports.

He says nothing says summer like picking big, sweet, juicy strawberries fresh from the field. Roger is looking forward to a good crop with over 155,000 plants getting ready to ripen. He says he values the visitors that come to his farm and hopes he's helping them make memories. Wall Street is bullish on a Tuesday morning despite global tensions. Oil prices have receded while corn prices continue to fall. John Heinberg with Total Farm Marketing in West Bend joins Pam Jahnke. He says the big second crop of corn expected out of Brazil is weighing heavy on the global market. MetService has issued multiple weather warnings and watches across the country for heavy rain, strong wind and snowfall. The forecaster said the wild weather could also bring thunderstorms accompanied by heavy downpours. Flights were cancelled in Nelson and Christchurch and Metservice warns that streams and rivers could rise rapidly causing surface flooding and making driving hazardous.
