Meet Captain Content & Kevin in the pit again this week for a hella good time! We're getting our aggressions out by revisiting the starting point of it all for Kevin. The thrash, crossover, speed metal movement of the 80s spawned his love of all things rock n' punk n' metal. This time around the circle pit, we are focusing on Crossover Thrash. A sub-genre defined as short bursts of hardcore punk with metal guitar riffing. This was perfect skateboarding music, which intertwined with the Sk8 subculture in the 80s and 90s. Hope ya have a slammin' good time with this one! What is it that we do here at InObscuria? We exhume obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. In this episode we explore all things mosh-worthy! This is real metal, people. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin Breeze, your AI meteorologist! I process real-time data instantly so you get the most accurate forecasts possible.Welcome back to another edition of the weather segment here on Quiet Please! I'm absolutely pumped to talk about what's happening in New York City today because things are getting interesting out there, folks! So here's the situation. We've got a low-pressure system moving in from the east, and it's bringing some significant moisture with it. Right now we're looking at mostly cloudy conditions with temperatures hanging steady around 52 Fahrenheit. But here's where it gets wild. By Saturday morning, we're expecting showers to develop, and I'm not talking about a light sprinkle. We're looking at a 90 percent chance of precipitation with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch possible. And then Saturday night, things really amp up. We could see between three-quarters and one inch of rain before this system starts to move out. Here's a weather pun for you: I'd tell you a joke about the rain, but it's all just water under the bridge anyway! But seriously, folks, Sunday morning we'll still have some showers lingering, mainly before 8 a.m., but here's the good news. It gradually clears out and becomes mostly sunny. Temperatures will be hovering near 50 Fahrenheit with winds from the northeast gusting up to 24 miles per hour.So what makes this system interesting from a meteorological standpoint? We're looking at what we call wind shear, which is basically different wind speeds at different atmospheric levels. This wind shear is helping to organize the moisture and create a more efficient rainfall pattern. Normally you'd expect scattered showers, but this organized setup is why we're seeing that concentrated precipitation. Now let's lock in your three-day forecast. Saturday is definitely the rainy one with those showers and temperatures dropping to around 45 Fahrenheit. Sunday clears out with a high near 50 and those gusty northeast winds. And by Monday, you're looking at mostly sunny skies with temperatures climbing back up to around 59 Fahrenheit. That's perfect spring weather if you ask me.If you're planning to catch a game at Yankee Stadium this weekend, definitely bring an umbrella. The Bronx is going to get its fair share of this moisture system. Thanks so much for tuning in to the weather segment. Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast so you never miss an update. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin Breeze, your AI meteorologist, bringing you real-time weather intel with zero human bias! What's up, folks? Welcome to your New York City weather breakdown, and let me tell you, Mother Nature's got some drama brewing in the Big Apple! We're talking a system that's about to turn things from partly sunny to absolutely soaked, and honestly, I couldn't be more excited about it.Right now, we're sitting pretty with partly sunny skies and a high near 61 Fahrenheit, with some light north winds becoming south this afternoon. It's actually gorgeous out there! But here's where it gets spicy. After 5 am tonight, we've got a 30 percent chance of rain moving in. The clouds are going to thicken up, so tonight's looking mostly cloudy with a low around 44 Fahrenheit. Now, Saturday is when things really get wet. We're expecting rain, mainly after 8 am, and it's going to be heavy. We're talking a 90 percent chance of precipitation with between half and three quarters of an inch possible. The temperature's actually going to fall as the system moves through, dropping down to around 44 Fahrenheit by afternoon. Southeast winds around 15 miles per hour will keep things breezy. You could say we're in for quite the precipitation station on Saturday! That's my weather pun for the day, folks.Saturday night stays rainy with the same 90 percent chance of precipitation and similar rainfall amounts, so definitely grab an umbrella and maybe stay indoors if you can.Sunday clears out a bit with rain likely mainly before 8 am, then partly sunny skies. High near 51 Fahrenheit with northeast winds around 16 miles per hour. Chance of rain drops to 60 percent.Alright, time for your Weather Playbook segment! Today's concept is atmospheric pressure systems. See, low-pressure systems are like the party invitations of the atmosphere. When a low moves in, air rises, moisture condenses, and boom, you get clouds and rain. High-pressure systems? They're the opposite. Air sinks, skies clear, and you get beautiful weather. That system moving toward New York this weekend is a juicy low-pressure setup, and that's exactly why we're getting all this rain! Here's your three-day forecast at a glance. Saturday through Sunday brings that rain event I mentioned, with totals around three quarters to one inch. Monday bounces back with sunny skies and a high near 59 Fahrenheit. Perfect for a walk through Central Park or grabbing a hot dog from a street vendor. Tuesday gets a bit unsettled again with a 30 percent chance of showers and a high near 58 Fahrenheit.Make sure to subscribe to the podcast so you never miss a forecast! Intro 0:00 Podcast 01:12 We hit the fields with Scott Dickey, Regional Agronomy Manager, to see how the early-season corn and soybeans are holding up after a stretch of heavy rain and cool temperatures. Despite the challenging weather, the fields are looking promising! In this update, we dive into the "boots on the ground" reality of early-season growth, covering: The Corn Coleoptile: Understanding how much pressure it can withstand in a crusting environment and what it means for your stand. The GDU Factor: How many Growing Degree Units it actually takes to get corn and soybean seeds out of the ground. The Power of Patience: Why waiting another week is crucial before making any final calls on emergence. The coleoptile acts as a protective spear for the first true leaves. In a "crusting environment," if the soil surface becomes too hard due to rain followed by quick drying, the coleoptile can buckle or grow horizontally (corkscrew) if it cannot break through. For soybeans, emergence is different because they have to "pull" the cotyledons through the soil, which often requires more energy and specific GDU accumulation compared to the "spearing" action of corn. A big thanks to Scott for sharing his expertise! #Agronomy #Corn2026 #Soybeans #Farming #CropUpdate To get a FARMserver account for yourself to use its agronomy AI feature go to: https://www.farmserver.com and sign up for your account. Interior of a new (preowned) Chevy Spark during heavy rain and wind. With a composite of nautical weather forecasts, engine tone, and drifty notes. And I don't have much else… Oh yo, if I had a time machine I would go back to 1989 and ask Debbie Gibson out for dinner somewhere; an extremely professional dinner… I'm married (although technically, if I went back to 1989, I would be in a space before I was married, technically). And I would be kind of famous myself as Mr. Time Traveller. But yeah, married, and no chace anything other than a meeting with an '80s pop icon (I could tell her who shot JR).Regardless… When was the Cheesecake Factory founded? I could've been like, “Don't worry, I know a good spot, Ms. Gibson. The original ****** Cheesecake Factory. It's huge where I come from in 2026. There's an everyday brunch menu. Every day.”Also, the future isn't “Electric Youth”; the future is unfortunately an abundance of war crimes. But… try the Chocolate Tuxedo Cream Cheesecake—it's amazing and probably 7000 calories."Out of the Blue is your magnum opus" I would say, "it's not the flashiness of Electric Youth." And my hands would be gesticulating wildly because I would be ****** nervous. "Every Out of the Blue song would win the six-man award if they could play elite basketball and were in the NBA. Excellent songs, without the max contracts—" actually let's cut this short as it's getting weird.Instead, let's just focus on the Cheesecake Factory, my near-ish location has weird fused glass plates affixed to towering wooden beams that split the booth tables. And the glass looks like the Eye of Sauron. So you walk in and there are like fifty Eyes of Sauron staring at you. And you pass throngs of people to exchange your name with the wait staff for a brick-sized pager coated in ancient soda syrup grime. And while you wait the forty-five minutes for a table, you take in the decor—this ancient pastiche of columns fused with cherub faces and flamingos. It's as if the designer was tasked with imagining what an Applebee's might look like on the island of Dr. Moreau.Speaking of waking nightmares... the present—and look, I won't tell you where to get your news, but if a pillow or military subcontractor or pharmaceutical commercial runs between programming, skip that garbage. Listen to the rain... the rain won't lie to you.
