Halloween is one of the most long-awaited holidays of the year. We're used to seeing peoples' creativity around this time of year from the spooky decorations to the spooky costumes and makeup, people go all out when it comes to this spooky holiday. What comes to your mind, when you think of Halloween? Scary movies to watch? Getting dressed up and acting the part of your favorite scary character? Or maybe it's trick-or-treating? Seeing kids and even sometimes adults walk around the neighborhood with their buckets of candy going from house to house, ringing the doorbell or knocking on the front door of some stranger's house. Then, when the door opens hearing their little voices yelling out, "TRICK-OR-TREAT!!!!" Then just like that each child is awarded some candy to put in their buckets of ever-growing candy stashes. Now, imagine that same scene being played out slightly different, instead of candy being handed out, freshly baked pies and cakes decorated with Halloween quotes, phrases and witty scary themes. I think parents and adults a like would certainly get into the Halloween spirit even more than some already do! No more flimsy candy bags, kids and trick-or-treaters would have to pull around wagons to carry all of their baked goods from one house to the next.
Since the dawn of film, and then later, television, kids have worked in the medium. The challenges of being a child actor, even in this day and age, cannot be underestimated. Not only do these kids have to work hard at everything kids normally have to do, including schoolwork and family obligations, but they also have to learn lines, come to a set, and work alongside a cast that often mostly or entirely consists of other adults. Yet despite so many challenges, the best kid actors, with the guidance and protection of their families, are able to rise to the occasion. Taking care not to burn out on too many activities, child actors are some of the talented and acclaimed performers in the business. In a way, they have become entrepreneurs at a very young age. Have you ever wanted to learn more about what it's like to be a kid working in television or film? I think you're really going to have fun with this week's episode!

For someone just starting out, it is important to have a sense of what you want to achieve as a business owner or entrepreneur over the short term. If your needs are extremely simple, at least at the start, you probably do not need to start wondering how much you're going to pay for professional web design, logo design and branding, and graphic design. However, the more complicated your initial goals are, the more apparent it will become that professional experience in web, logo, or graphic design is essential. It comes down to making the most of your resources to save time and money on getting a professional solution right out of the gate. To that end, how much should you pay? Experts say it can vary wildly. Web design in the broadest terms possible can run you anywhere from a few hundred dollars, to tens of thousands of dollars. Chances are, your aspirations do not run to a $100, 000 tab for web design. However, you can still expect to pay as much as $1000 for significant web design.

Even if you yourself don't drink coffee, the odds are pretty good that virtually everyone around you does. In 2015 alone, we spent over 74 billion dollars on coffee here in the US alone. Imagine what the numbers are like for the industry on a global scale! We like our coffee, is what I'm saying. It would almost seem as though the world does not need more coffee shops, but that is not the case. One of the most interesting things to emerge in the past decade is the idea that any kind of retail shop be opened with a specific purpose in mind. The story behind our favorite local haunts has become almost as important to us as what we buy itself, including our favorite magical bean. We can basically pick and choose retailers that reflect our own personalities and beliefs. To that end, if you've ever wanted to learn more about coffee shops opened by and for U.S. military veterans, you're going to love who we're talking within this episode! Elliot, Mike, and Peter are the three remarkable human beings behind the Chosen Joe Coffee Company. They are veterans, entrepreneurs, serious students of business. Years of serving our country have given them a love of our nation, a love of all things coffee, and the desire to use their unique and combined experiences and passions to work with and inspire their fellow veterans. While Chosen Joe Coffee might be a newly-formed brand, these guys are no strangers to business. The more you learn about their journey from veterans to opening a coffee shop that seeks to inspire and support other veterans, the more impressed we know you're going to be.

Asking about qualifications is one of the most important things any business owner or entrepreneur can do, when it comes to finding the best possible web designer for their needs. This can include their degrees, work history, years and forms of experience, and more. Ask to check out their portfolio! In this day and age, there really isn't any excuse for a designer of any kind to not have a detailed, engaging collection of what is essentially their greatest hits. Talk about rates. This may seem obvious, but you would be surprised how often people forget to discuss this aspect to the letter. It can also be a good idea to talk with the web designer about the specific software they use. You don't have to be an expert on this, but know that a large paid platform is generally the best way to go. If not, they should be using their own software. That is a different conversation altogether!

There is a marked difference between paying attention to your competitors, especially when it comes to how they market themselves, and focusing more on what they are doing, than what your customers might want/enjoy. Competitor obsession can distract you from more important things. Paying attention to businesses similar to yours can be good for inspiration, but it's still important to ultimately focus on giving your customers the best experience possible. It can be particularly damaging to focus on specific competitors. Paying attention to patterns in marketing and brand success can be wise. Taking things to the point where you're essentially cloning what someone else is doing can be extremely problematic. At the end of the day, getting feedback from clients is always a better idea for making changes, if those changes are necessary. And while identifying certain patterns can steer your own design and branding goals in the right direction, you still want to ultimately establish your own unique identity.

While doing research on this subject, I discovered there are well our 2,000 verses in the bible alone that talk about the subject of money. Everything from putting your hope in wealth, giving, greed, and even debt. Many don’t realize that giving back to the community takes resources. These resources require others that have the means, big or small, to give to the cause. What can you do, if you want to invest wisely and safely through Biblically Responsible investing? Boots to Business is an entrepreneurial education and training program offered by the Small Business Administration. The purpose of such programs is to bring the principles of running a business to active-duty service members, veterans, and military spouses. Nearly 1 in 10 ten small businesses in the United States are owned by veterans. That's just one of the reasons why those who assist them, such as our guests today, are so vital on so many levels. For America to have a thriving culture of small business, we must invest in our veterans, and we are so fortunate that today's guests are doing that work. The Ignite Your Business Radio Show is proud to introduce VetBiz’s President and Chief Fear Conqueror Darcella Craven. Joining her as well is Mitchell Fitzpatrick, who joined Darcella’s organization just a few months ago, but who has established himself as one of the many crucial elements within this organization.
