Andy Ryan talks about being named the new head coach of the Columbus High School football team.

Larne's Andy Ryan and Institute's Shaun Leppard have both received Player of the Year nominations in their respective leagues, they join us to discuss their season's to date and remaining goals. Larne need would clinch the title with a draw on Monday, whilst 'Stute could leap as high as 2nd with a win on Saturday. We also hear from Michael O'Neill, Gareth McAuley and Stuart Dallas following the U19 Euros draw earlier this week, with the tournament to be staged in Northern Ireland this July.

Societal Implications of AI: While we've been talking for decades about the future of both computer-human interfaces and computer-brain interfaces, "the future is finally here," says Dava. So now what? She discusses the role of beneficial uses of AI in the fields of medicine and disease treatment, as well as our responsibility in how we implement and use these tools to enhance the human experience in all ways possible. Educating the public at large is a necessary step that cannot be overlooked, something the Lab seeks to do in their annual Day of AI.4. Regulation: a need for guardrails: "Policy making is slow, and technology has outpaced government policies" says Dava, sharing more on why she is pro regulation of these technologies. She details her hope for positive collaboration between Europe and the United States of America, working hand-in-hand to develop a system of standards and guardrails in protecting our shared future.5. Encouragement for entrepreneurs, innovators, and collaboration: Dava offers words of encouragement to young entrepreneurs and innovators, urging them to believe in themselves and their dreams. She's a firm believer in the value of persistence, even in the face of failure, and reminds us all that setbacks are part of the process on the path to success. She also discusses the importance of partnerships with industry members, ranging from small and medium-sized companies to large enterprises, in driving the work of the MIT Media Lab. Collaboration between academia and industry is crucial for advancing research and technological development. This week on All Things MMA, we're turning our attention towards the regulation of the sport in Ireland.To help with that, we're joined by Tim Murphy, head coach of Point Blank Submissions in Galway, but also the chairperson of the Irish Mixed Martial Arts Association (IMMAA).We've touched on this subject previously with Andy Ryan but as time ticks along, it's clear that getting a national governing body up and running and officially recognised in order to regulate the sport of MMA in Ireland, all under Sport Ireland, is proving quite difficult.Following the passing of Joao Carvalho in 2016 in the wake of an MMA show in Ireland, the Coroner's Count recommended the introduction of standardised safety procedures and protocols to MMA events in the country, as well as the establishment of a national governing body.Four years on from the formation of IMMA, that recognition is still lacking so speak with Tim about why this is the case, what changes have been made surrounding the safety aspects of the sport, club structures and Ireland's participation at international amateur level and what the future looks like with recognition secured.We begin with what IMMAA is, why they exist and continue by looking at the roadblocks, conflicts with other sports and exploring what support at ground level is like.Have a listen above, catch ATMMA on Scoreline every Saturday or subscribe for previous and new episodes on your favourite podcast platform.
