Social is changing the face of search and, with that, the impact on how brands and products are discovered has also shifted. Reddit is among the platforms capitalising on this - tapping into consumer habits of adding ‘Reddit' to the end of every search term, making the brand name the 6th most-Googled term in the US. In this episode with Hannah Walker, Reddit's Head of Mid-Market for the UK, we find out why platforms are leaning on AI to elevate their search offerings, how brands can benefit from Reddit's curious community through both paid and organic, and what their behaviour tells us about what Redditors want from the brands they buy from. I know this to be true because I'm the only person on the planet who wrote The Zebra Code: A Step-By-Step Guide to Mastering Career Skills That Make You a Standout Professional. And that's where these tips came from. You might think based on the title of my recent book it's all about career development. It IS about career development and getting what you want out of life! But it's about skillsets that are not a luxury, but an all-out requirement for success, in your job search or any endeavor. Would it help if you could focus to stay locked in? Were self-aware to know what to look for, how to evaluate whether it fits, and make great career decisions? Good habits? Effectively plan and run your (job-search) day? Have more confidence? Become more empathetic and use it to your advantage in interviews? Uh, network more effectively? HELLO! Communicate better? Be more persuasive, well, in everything from cover letters to interview answers? Improve your personal storytelling? How ‘bout using a creative formula to generate more job-search and employer possibilities? Yeah! No fib. I covered a lot. It's all in today's lesson on 10 Ways to Improve Your Job Search Results | Tips from The Zebra Code! If you'd like to build a great career and lead a rewarding life, check out some of these other places where I share my teachings: 1. Check out the milewalk Academy, my coaching and training site, for freemiums and premiums. 2. I have hundreds of educational and inspirational videos on my YouTube Channel. 3. A Wall Street Journal article discusses how GenZ teachers are transforming classroom decor to create a more home-like, inviting environment, contrasting with the traditional sterile classrooms. This shift aims to enhance students' learning experiences, as studies suggest that children learn better in cozy, familiar settings. The article highlights a teacher in Idaho who has decorated her classroom with warm colors and comfortable furnishings, reflecting the idea that a homey atmosphere can positively impact learning. This trend reinforces what homeschooling parents already knew: kids learn best at home. The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled a law unconstitutional that allowed state money to be used for private education. This ruling reflects a broader debate on the use of public funds for private schooling and suggests that similar measures in other states, like California, may face legal challenges if they do not adequately address the regulatory concerns. Ultimately, the ruling serves as a cautionary tale about the potential consequences of accepting state funds, as it may come with strings attached that could infringe on the autonomy of private educational institutions. This lesson from the South Carolina Supreme Court gives us another reminder to resist taking state funds as they do come with government oversight.Steve Lawson Book “Show Me Your Glory" https://store.ligonier.org/show-me-your-glory-hardcoverWall Street Journal Article: https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/classroomsetup-gen-z-back-to-school-38991ced?mod=Searchresults_pos1&page=1Be a Poll Worker: https://pollworker.sos.ca.gov/Register to Vote: https://registertovote.ca.gov/
