Because there's nothing better than cancelling plans and staying home with a good book or a good binge watch.
Amanda and Dak grab umbrellas and hip waders for a trip to a very rainy, very dirty, Gotham with The Batman. We run down the latest Rogues Gallery, weigh in on our newest Caped Crusader and finally decide: did we need this movie? Did we need Robert Pattison? And what's up that Riddler's riddles? Plus, we discuss our, and the internet's favorite new puzzle distraction.
Amanda and Dak weren't sure they were ready, but decided to dive into Station Eleven anyway. Right call? We'll see. We're also hitting some recent shows to recommend for winter watching, and talking about our favorite game show because we can't resist.
Amanda dons her history prof cap to dig into the shockingly accurate history of The King's Man, while Dak enjoys a refresher on a favorite franchise. We're getting festive with the holiday vibes of Hawkeye and catching up before the last episode gives us all the Christmas and Marvel feels. But the big story of the week is the movie on everyone's minds: Spider-Man No Way Home. We're getting into it all on this one, hitting all those spoilers and easter eggs, why this may just rank among our best theater experiences ever, and why one Spider-Man in particular holds our hearts.
The Introverts watch just about everything, but we always seem to come back to talking Marvel, don't we? Virginia, Amanda, and Dak dive into the Eternals, and the reviews are mixed. Virginia is excited for all the new possibilities, Amanda has learned the joys of going in blind, and Dak wondering if it's too much or not enough. There's a ton we love, and plenty of sticking points, too. Plus, we can't help indulging in a bit of Spider-Man speculation too.
Amanda and Dak pick up the phone and make the call to chat about Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Strap on your proton pack for this wild ride, as we revisit one of our favorite franchises of all time for the ups, the downs, the cameos and the wisecracks. We're in awe of the heavy lifting of McKenna Grace, charmed by Paul Rudd, and confused by the marketing plan for Stay-Puft marshmallows. All this, and a touch of Spider-Man chat for your holiday weekend pleasure! Happy Thanksgiving!
Virginia, Amanda and Dak grab the mics to dig into Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and the stakes for the MCU. We talk about the pressure this movie was under, and weigh how it measures up, Simu Liu's career growth, and the right amount of Awkwafina. Virginia is reveling in the details, Dak ships his first ship, and Amanda is having confused feelings about Ben Kingsley. We hit on the Hawkeye trailer, the Eternals, Amanda's Skrull mom, and what those end credits scenes mean. Is this an MCU podcast now?
The Introverts are back with more Jeopardy! takes, more MCU chatter, and more ER references. We're sharing what's keeping us distracted this summer: Stephanie has been getting lost in Timeless, Amanda is binge of bingeing, and Dak's banging the drum for Dave Chapelle. We're taking on the Ted Lasso haters too, and Amanda finally confesses: Yes, she's a Marvel Super Fan. No one is surprised.
It's been tough for the Introverts to get out this summer, but Amanda and Dak hooked up to talk about the future of their favorite game show, and then chat about what the current state of the MCU: how we're feeling about the expanding universe, Black Widow finally getting her due, and where we go from here. We're hyped up about Shang-Chi, and have high hopes for the Eternals, big questions for Spider-Man, and a few concerns about getting back to theaters. Plus, Amanda finally puts Dak on the spot about Sam Wilson's new job title.
Gossip Girl here! Stephanie and Virginia took over the recording booth to talk about the popular TV series that ran from 2007 - 2012 (yea, I can't believe it's been that long too) and how they still aren't over the big reveal of who Gossip Girl really was. If it wasn't Dorota, then why even bother? But there's still much to appreciate from Team Serena to questionable fashion choices to how everyone hooked up with everyone and it was A-Ok! We also talk about Jenny's rock career, Vanessa's new role in space, and how Dan was the reason to tune into the show in the first place. Be prepared for headbands, cringe scenes, and ridiculous queens. You know you loved it, xoxo.
Amanda and Judy are in a pandemic Catch-22. They keep buying books but can't seem to read any books. What are super book nerds to do? We talk about what books we are buying and not reading, how we are tackling the TBR stack, the joys of re-reading, audio book salvation and how Judy has failed the Discovery of Witches real time read- yet again. For anyone with unmanageable to be read piles- this episode is for you.
The Introverts are crawling out of our shells and going back to the MCU! Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are some of our MCU favorites and we're feeling all the Falcon and Winter Soldier feels. Plus, books! In the MCU! We're covering a lot: questioning bad-guy motivations here, stanning Stan, grabbing those Captain America cosplay tips, and worrying about Sam's skin care routine. And that's all before we break down the character beats that got our hearts going. This is 10 out of 10 on the Bromance Scale, but are we really just going to let John Walker off the hook like that?
It's been a minute, but Amanda's feeling nostalgic after not seeing a movie theater for a while. She called up a few friends to see what the movies mean to us, how we're coping, and what we miss. Our favorite movie memories might be easy to guess, but we've got a few surprises in store along with our special guests. And maybe a few ideas for recapturing that movie mood, too. Dim the lights and grab some milk duds while we go back to the movies!
After more technical glitches the gang is feeling a little dark. How are we coping? Steph and Judy are shopping early, Virginia is focused on the wedding, and Amanda still can't think of anything but the election. So we're taking a moment to revel in all the ways this year has been a bad situation, from last minute cancellations to planning for the holidays, and losing all concept of time and losing our go-to excuses. No matter what, we know a good cheese board and a snarky Christmas ornament, and a joke about toilet paper supplies will make us feel more optimistic.
Ever wonder how your favorite Introverts handle their election anxiety? Not great! Before the results were in, Amanda and Judy did a Buddy Check and Virginia joined to compare notes. Find out how we’re coping, what distracts us, and who’s been pregaming this week before technical difficulties get the better of us.
Someone pregamed, we are all barely hanging on and we are doing a dive into all things October. Halloween decorations, seasonal Funko, surprising remakes, Animal Crossing updates, Marvel chats and more.
There's a lot to unpack in our favorite vampire movies. We're walking through the details of transformations and vampire pregnancies, all of our favorite movie and TV bloodsuckers, campy vamps versus terrifying children of the night, and why vampires are just so darn appealing. Plus, Katie's back for more Twilight Talk! Clearly, we have an obsession here.
This Halloween we're digging in on all things vampires! This episode we're talking our favorite reads to sink our teeth into. Judy has a Midnight Sun meltdown, Virginia's brother won't let her get out mid-read, Amanda goes for the creepiest vamps she can find, Steph brings in a very special guest. Because honestly? we just can't stop talking Twilight. Gives us the Jasper and Alice book, you cowards!
We aren't throwing away our shot to talk about HAMILTON. We've gone into the void of Disney + and watching the cultural phenomenon and we have thoughts- so many thoughts. Soundtrack love, historical accuracies, a nod to 1776. Be sure to join us in "the room where it happens" for this week's episode.
Guess who's back, back again... and they are rusty. The Introverts are checking in after checking out for a bit. What are we watching, what have we been doing and how much online shopping is really going on? We are talking about Netflix, plants, and how we are doing on day 100000 of quarantine.
After another local podcast crowns us the winners of quarantine, the Introverts have some awards of our own to hand out. We surprise ourselves too, stepping outside our comfort zones while we've been shut up inside. We've been cooking (but not who you think!) and gaming (but not who you think!) and online shopping (yeah, that's all of us).
The introverts are in their happy place and Virginia is slowly converting to one of us. But all the book ordering has brought us to the age old question- how do you organize your shelves? Fat stacks, tumbling towers or your own mini bookstore (yes we are pointing at you, Amanda.) It’s a bookish look at our shared hoarding.
Virginia's pandemic movie choices raise some questions, so we're digging in to entertainment we're choosing when we can't leave home. Amanda goes for comfort picks, Judy is distracted, Virginia is gaming, and Steph has some reading recs to keep us all happy.
The Introverts are social distancing, and desperately trying to find ways to manage their stress levels. We run through the symptoms of our seasonal allergies, and all the other ways we're surviving the quarantine, from checking temps to tracking projections and going a teensy bit overboard with the lysol. Check in with us and let us know how you're doing, too!
Say it with me now. Deep Breath. "No." It's not an easy thing to say. We on the introvert couch have a hard time saying "no" sometimes. Now we're saying "no" to that and embracing the power of saying "no." So come listen to our anecdotes about how we're starting to say no, as well as the times it gets hard to say no. A few life lessons we tackle on along the way: Life is too short for bad beer, You don't need all the free tote bags, Smiling doesn't come with cash, and No Soliciting signs are binding contracts.
Let’s face it: election years are stressful. Amanda’s trying to kick her donation habit (or at least stop donating accidentally), Judy doesn’t want your unsolicited advice, Virginia’s planning a move to Winterfell and a lot of horror gaming, while Stephanie’s going to lobby for reboots of all her favorite properties. Virginia and Judy have tips on getting their news, AND keeping their sanity.
It’s another Introverts Salute to one of our favorite literary leading ladies, Saoirse Ronan . . . but this one takes a lot of twists and turns. A fight breaks out over Amanda’s favorite movie, Steph tells us about her first exposure to Twilight, Virginia’s list of movies to watch is growing by leaps and bounds, but one is definitely not going to make the cut, and Judy breaks down Elizabethan history. Can we get Saoirse is a good vamp movie, please? Until then, she’s our Jo March forever.
Get ready for your cortisone shots and put your heels on! The Introvert's re-watched Leap Year and have some opinions. Some of us loved it, others (Virginia) made lists, but we all agree that Matthew Goode could always make plans with us. It's not the worst Rom-Com and it's still a joy to watch. However, we do question several Amy Adams' life choices and ability to walk in heels. We also discuss Amanda's proposal plans for strangers, Virginia's bickering with a jeweler, Judy's love story, and Stephanie shares Irish and Scottish knowledge. Slainte!
Somehow, we've been doing this little podcast gig for a year! We're reflecting on our hits and misses: our favorite moments, how podcasting helps us connect, that one lost episode, and how we sabotaged our one shot at sponsorship. Plus, we tell the story of how we got started. The whole thing might have been a mistake that just got out of hand.
It’s that time of year again- Happy Galentines Day! We are talking our favorite romantic books, why we like romcoms and our top recommendations. And of course we get a bit distracted.
Hollywood's biggest night is finally here, but are we here for it? We reminisce about a Sales Conference Oscar dinner (chocolate statues, what?!), what films we wish were included and of course, our predictions! Amanda holds strong that the Red Carpet is humanity's biggest shortfall and how Best Sweater is a legit category (thank you Knives Out costume department!). Stephanie is tired of the same old BS and ruined her brother's childhood favorite. Judy will be asleep before the event begins, especially since she's been stuck in a Toy Story movie loop. Most importantly, we share some love for Little Women and how Beth is the one our hearts will go on for.
Adulting is not the fun free-for-all we were led to expect, is it? Steph is ignoring texts, Judy doesn’t want to feed her family any more, and Amanda is dodging her responsibilities at every turn. Our phones won’t update, our cars need repairs, and no one shows up on time. Plus, someone ran a car into City Hall and now we can’t pay our water bills? Our consolation is realizing that no one else has figured this out yet, either.
Zombies, nuclear waste, and armageddons oh my! That's right, we introverts are down in numbers 'cause its the end of the world (in pop culture themes at least). Judy is away, prepping for the apocalypse, while Amanda, Stephanie, and Virginia do the planning. We talk all things from horrific scenarios to best case. So stock up and get ready for a ride to the end.
The Introverts are combining Forces with our friends at BPS to break down all our Rise of Skywalker feels. Amanda has been on a roller coaster, Steph found the deal of a lifetime, Dak is working through things and Virginia was right all along. Stay tuned for more with this special two-part episode.
Amanda’s podcasting dreams come true as we give the Salute treatment to the one, the only, Sebastian Stan. We reminisce about how good Once Upon a Time was once upon a time. Virginia and Steph rave about the life changing power of hot boy witches. Judy didn’t think she could see past weird accents and bizarre mustaches, but Stan proves her wrong. And of course, we’re digging deep into the Winter Soldier and why he leaves an impression. Our minds go into gutter on this one. Not sorry.
Pop Open the Bubbly! The Introverts talk what they do for New Years and it's not going out clubbing. We talk about what food should and should not wiggle, to resolute or not to resolute, self-love, wedding panic (and Stephanie calms Virginia's fears), taking actual vacations, emotions, body parts, and European dish cloths. Our plans are grand and so is the comfy couch we sit on. It's going to take a lot to leave the comfort zone, but we think we can do it...as long as Stephanie comes back from Scotland. Someone has to help Amanda stop randomly donating to political campaigns! Also, Judy's love of the Splash Pad will make you all want to change your gym membership.
How do the introverts review such a busy year? Well, it starts with Virginia trying to explain "Old Town Road," the team listing their favorite movies, Judy sharing her love of Detective Pikachu, Amanda historic-fangirling over Harriet Tubman, and Stephanie angry-hating on Avenger's Endgame (yet her surprising enjoyment of Aladdin). Of course, we have to talk books and we aren't going to apologize for increasing your TBR pile. We also reflect on our podcasts, especially the one where Judy gets trapped in a basement and Stephanie saves her. Strippers, musicals, Mister Rogers, marathon running, and zombies are also some topics of note. Ready Or Not, it's time to grab your blanket and reminisce 2019 with us!
We’re celebrating the holidays with a look at our favorite holiday watchlists, making a case for the movies with a stealth Christmas theme. Judy had a Claymation Christmas fever dream that turned out to be real life. Amanda’s heart grows a couple of sizes while we rank the many, many versions of A Christmas Carol. Steph goes dark with an ER tie-in. Virginia goes old school with her favorites, and yes, she’s already heard your Santa jokes. We’re just hoping that Santa brings us a Christmas movie that knows how publishing works.
Here Be Spoilers! Knives Out is the movie of the moment, and we’ll snuggled in like a favorite cozy sweater. Judy’s mind is in the gutter, Amanda is distracted by wardrobe, and Stephanie is loving every single minute. All this, plus Virginia’s back! With wedding plans!
We’re listening to all our favorite Christmas jams and sharing our holiday Thank You No Thank Yous. We’re talking Judy through the Big Santa Talk, and sharing the joys of Christmas with kiddos. Judy has dramatic feelings about rodents, but Steph is full of ideas for pet holidays. Amanda throws out a plea to give books to your bookish friends.
Amanda, Judy, and Steph are reflecting and giving thanks, talking up their holiday traditions and the things that give them happy. Steph makes her case, again, for Chris Pine, and we reflect on a year in movies. Judy shares the saga of trying to get holiday jammies for everyone. Amanda offers up a tip for rolling out your sugar cookies and talks about her dessert line up. Yeah, It’s a food episode.
We are fangirling over one of our favorite Brits- Emma Thompson! Amanda finds a new thriller, Judy has a Harry Potter brain fart and Stephanie has all the sexy stats. And what kind of Introverts Salute episode would it be if we didn’t of we go off topic a few times.
Responsible drinking, past offenses, and how things have changed. It’s all about the booze this episode- the brilliant catalyst to introverted socialization since grapes first went bad in a bottle. We’re sober this episode but our memories might be hazy. Stay thirsty friends.
It’s check-in time! We are touching base. Musicals, food weapons, ASMR, candy corn rating, upcoming movies and autumnal hobbies-just another Thursday night in. This episode has something for everyone.
We finally watched season 3 and just in time for a Halloween recap. We are chatting all things Stranger Things. What we loved, what we didn’t and what we are looking forward to in season 4. Warning- this episode might make you want to do a series rewatch.
We’re digging deeper into our love of witches, diving into the movies and television that get our noses twitching. Virginia reminds us of the deep, twisted joy of a dark Sebastian Stan, Amanda has Opinions on the Charmed reboot, Stephanie has found the one witchy movie that doesn’t work, and Judy becomes a pirate in search of a witch fix. All of this, plus we practice our spellcasting in a salute to the best witch movie of them all.
Double, double toil in trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble! The Introverts gather to discuss their favorite literary witches. Amanda goes old school with an iconic trio of witches, Judy once again surpasses the Discovery of Witches real time read, Stephanie shouts out some Salem reads and Virginia gushes about The Dresden Files. So get your witches brew and fire going, and join us as we revisit our favorite witchy reads.
Virginia and Steph are on a hunting trip, and we haven't heard from them in a few days. It's up to Amanda and Judy to recruit Dak to the family business, heavily armed with salt, hex bags, fake FBI badges, classic rock, and one sweet Impala. Grab a beer and buckle up, because we're hitting the road for an epic journey to hell and back (and back to hell) celebrating the Winchesters and their flannel shirts, and what makes the world of Supernatural one of our favorite places to be.
From Mindhunters to Murder Squad- the Introverts have True Crime on the brain. Why are we fascinated? Why are we leery and what are our favorite True Crime outlets- it's getting creepy up in here.
There’s nothing an introvert loves more than a night chilling with Netflix. And by that we definitely mean watching Netflix. We’re talking our favorite series, the value of dropping all an entire season at once so the Veronica Mars fans don’t go nuts, and what makes the model work. Steph is escaping to Schitt’s Creek because Amazon hates her back, Amanda contemplates the challenge of finding what she wants and reinvents cable television, Judy makes a case for limited series but will always break her own rules for vampires and serial killers. All of our watch lists are growing, and we bet yours will too.
Today we’re saluting one of our favorites: Paul Rudd! The ageless, immortal, adorable Rudd had us from the first quirky grin. From Clueless to the MCU, we’re big fans. Judy puts out a call for the internet to fill a gap, Steph recounts a strange Paul Rudd encounter, Virginia gets a homework assignment, and Amanda waxes poetic about Clueless and Jane Austen. One thing’s for sure, our Introvert love for Ant-Man is no small thing! He’s a total Baldwin!
From weekly predictions, personality assessments and debating which zodiac rings truer - we take a dive into sign theory. Stephanie is a fan, Judy is a skeptic, Amanda is 100% Virgo and Virginia is out of the office. So...Hey, baby, what’s your sign?
