The Makin' it with the Mackins podcast is an absolute gem in the world of podcasts. From the moment you start listening, you can't help but become utterly captivated by Danielle and Mackin's relatable and hilarious banter. It feels like you're sitting in their living room, hanging out with them as they share their real-life stories and experiences. I found myself laughing out loud numerous times throughout each episode, truly enjoying the lightheartedness and genuine humor that this podcast brings.

One of the best aspects of The Makin' it with the Mackins podcast is its relatability. Whether they're discussing marriage, parenthood, self-love, or everyday life, Danielle and Mackin bring a refreshing honesty to each topic. They say what we all are thinking but sometimes hesitate to say out loud. Their quick-witted banter and blunt storytelling create an incredibly realistic and down-to-earth atmosphere that resonates with listeners on a deep level.

Another great aspect of this podcast is the dynamic between Danielle and Mackin. As husband and wife, as well as mom and dad to four kids, their relationship shines through in every episode. There's a beautiful balance of love, humor, and genuine moments that make you feel like you're part of their family. Their storytelling may sometimes veer off-topic, but it only adds to the charm of the podcast.

In terms of negatives, there really isn't much to fault with The Makin' it with the Mackins podcast. If anything, some listeners may find themselves lost or distracted when the conversation goes on tangents from the original topic. However, this also adds to the spontaneity and authenticity of their conversations.

In conclusion, The Makin' it with the Mackins podcast is an absolute delight to listen to. It brings laughter and relatability into your day while providing a sense of lightheartedness and escapism. Danielle and Mackin's genuine-ness and real-life experiences make this podcast a must-listen for anyone looking for a dose of humor, honesty, and a reminder that we're all in this crazy journey called life together. I eagerly await each new episode and highly recommend this podcast to anyone in need of a smile or laugh.

Josh touches on the idea that life is less about searching for balance because you can't balance chaos. And that they find a sweet spot centering their 24/7 lives in a rhythm that ebbs and flows appropriately.  We talk about tapping into a “no, no” mindset that allows them to accomplish their goals without fear of falling short. Danielle had the amazing opportunity to guest host Aimee & Shawn in the morning on 102.7 VGS with our good friend, Aimee Thomas. She spent weeks preparing but then the day before decided to get Summerlin mom, day drunk. It wasn't the most responsible choice but thankful everything worked out. Mackin was fine for the most part but was definitely annoyed with certain aspects of the day. We never even talked about it… till now on the episode! For all of you who enjoy the “Things Said After Sex” segment, we've decided to make it a little more interactive. Keep an eye on our Instagram stories to find out how. We also talk about compromising different parenting styles, how strangers treat you when you have a dog vs. a kid, and what Danielle means by “encouraging wake behavior.” Now that we are officially in our "no" era, we have a new slogan for life, we're putting the negative back in positive parenting. We hope you support us in this valiant cause. The kids have been pretty good as of late but that doesn't stop Mackin from picking apart their flaws and ranking them accordingly. It's been a tough couple of weeks. We were unfortunately grieving the loss of Danielle's cousin, Nick Scinta. Nick was so amazing and such a light in our lives in his brightest moments. It's always shocking like this when something happens but it was so beautiful to see the whole family come together to honor his life. It wasn't easy but we tried to transition into funnier topics, Nick definitely would have laughed! One thing we're not laughing at, is our kids laughing. Is it just us or is kids hysterically laughing for too long the most annoying sound in the world? No? Must be just us then. Other things we complain about are how the kids have forced Mackin into never saying yes, to anything ever again. The constant requests, complaints, and preferences have forced him and we just pray he comes around. If you've been waiting to subscribe to Real. Late. We were excited to share stories from our trip to Buffalo, Vivienne's birthday, and getting back into the swing of things. There is no shortage of bickering, bantering, and ranking our kids. We are entering our "kids' birthday era" and decided to not go crazy this year…just three balloon arches to celebrate the twins' birthday. But honestly, we did scale back this year and it appears to be for the better. Plenty of sex talk in this episode, too. Presenting the case of having a form of sex PTO to poorly comparing our sex drives to different types of vehicles.  Thank you to everyone who listened to “The Therapy Episode” on  Real. Late. We really think you'll like it and if you don't, DM us and we'll Venmo you $5. We've also had a major breakthrough with Leo, and all the effort and energy in the last year wavering between positive parenting, tough love, and just plain old yelling seems to have paid off. It's no surprise who's #1 in this week's rankings. Thank you for listening, thank you for subscribing, thank you for being our buddies! So make sure you get your “Buddy” merch!

This episode of Real. Late. Relatable. is really unique! A while back, we approached our wonderful therapist, Jacquie, with the idea of recording one of our sessions together. Like a good therapist would, she wanted to know our intentions and the topics of our conversation. Our goal with this is to continue to normalize therapy and to destigmatize some of the misconceptions about therapy, in general. Since, we're pretty open about our struggles in marriage, parenting and just life in general, we thought it would be interesting to record our session. So, that is exactly what we did. We showed up with a timely argument that was top of mind and we turned the mics on. There is never a lack of arguing in our house. So, there was plenty to talk about and the argument of choice actually served as a good example for many of the things we have been recently discussing in therapy, beyond the fight itself. We break down how the fight started, how it escalated, step by step, and ultimately how it was resolved so we can move on striving to be better people. Thank you, especially to Jacquie, and thank you all for subscribing!

The kids are back in school and all is right in the world. We also didn't go into this episode fighting with each other, so that also is a plus. In this episode, we talk about everything from robot housekeepers to white people tacos and go in on parents who let their daughters out of the house wearing little to no clothes. This week's rankings are much more accurate and honestly better, compared to the last episode, probably because they're in school. They're all much more well-behaved and we mostly just take issue with their expanding palettes and reviewing of food, to their particularity around their clothing. We hope you all enjoyed the free Real. Late. Relatable. episode with Aimee Thomas. We're gonna keep it up for a little while longer in case you haven't had a chance to listen yet. There were too many laughs to not share them with everyone...so this Real. Late. Relatable. is free to all ears to kick off Season 5 of Makin' it with the Mackins! If you're new to Real. Late. In this episode, we were going to talk about everything we forgot in the first episode but neither Danielle nor Aimee made notes. So, this episode was 100% off the cuff! We picked up right where we left off, talking about just real life! Therapy, marriage, parenting, pranks, growing up basically Canadian in upstate New York. No stone was left unturned in our longest episode ever. We even have an impromptu call from another RLR guest. Ultimately, we need to give each other a break but that can be tough when our kids are giving us so many reasons to rank them all #4. Also, our next video episode will be our 100th episode! We're not good at much but if there's one thing we're good at (or terrible at, depending on how you look at it), it's being honest. We started talking about the mini-fight we got into in our previous episode and it spiraled even further. In the last episode, we decided to just leave it all in. In this episode, we thought it was too much and decide to edit it out. We even considered not filming this episode. It's tough sometimes, airing ALL your shit out on video. But what it comes down to is we love each other, we took a quick break and were able to understand each other with the camera off. We pulled each other up by our bootstraps, turned the mics on, and gave it another go. It isn't our best episode ever (by far), but it's the best we had to give under the circumstances. If that wasn't bad enough, Danielle leaves a few times to check the lasagna. Sometimes you gotta just say fuck it. We talk about the federalization of the Easter Bunny, child fraud, and plenty of other ridiculous things. We close with a fresh lineup of child rankings and appreciate every one of you for listening, especially to the more trying episodes.
