The indictments of former FBI Director James Comey and New York State Attorney General Letitia James appear to be a clear case of political retribution. President Trump himself has made public statements to that effect. But the president's supporters say it is a logical response to what they perceive to be an unfair legal campaign against him. So what happens if the Justice Department becomes weaponized? Our guests discuss it. In studio: Hon. John Ark, retired New York State Supreme Court justice Hon. Richard Dollinger, retired New York Court of Claims judge Hon. Thomas VanStrydonck, retired New York State Supreme Court justice Hon. We're living in a time when mental health terms are EVERYWHERE. But is our obsession with therapy-speak helping us grow, or just confusing us more? This week, JVN sits down with psychotherapist and author Joe Nucci to talk about his new book PSYCHOBABBLE and the rise of pop psychology online. Together, they unpack what a psychotherapist really does, how self-diagnosis can backfire, and why therapy buzzwords like “attachment styles,” “boundaries,” and “trauma” often lose meaning when they go viral. From the truth about mindfulness (and why it's not for everyone) to spotting real insight amid the noise, this episode dives deep into how we talk about mental health—and what it actually means to get better. What if online harassment isn't random at all—but part of a strategy? In this explosive episode of The Healthier Tech Podcast, host R Blank talks with Viktorya Vilk, Director of Digital Safety and Free Expression at PEN America, about how governments, corporations, and tech platforms are turning the internet into a weapon against free speech. Viktorya reveals how political power, economic pressure, and digital surveillance now intersect to create an ecosystem where journalists, writers, and even librarians are targeted for speaking out. She breaks down how authoritarian tactics, media consolidation, and platform indifference have combined to make the online world hostile to truth—and what each of us can do to push back. In This Episode: How the U.S. dropped to 57th in global press freedom rankings—and why that's not an accident The chilling new playbook: online harassment as a censorship tool Why Big Tech's business model thrives on surveillance, fear, and silence How Facebook and Google siphoned 70% of online ad revenue, collapsing local journalism Real-life examples of reporters attacked, arrested, and digitally terrorized for telling the truth The practical digital safety steps every person can take—starting today Why Viktorya refuses to give in to “tech nihilism” and insists users have power Why You Should Listen This isn't just a podcast about harassment or privacy—it's about democracy, power, and your voice. Viktorya explains how the same digital forces that endanger journalists are eroding safety and free expression for everyone. But she also shares concrete tools to rebuild your sense of control online: from password hygiene and privacy audits to collective advocacy that pressures tech platforms to act responsibly. She makes one thing clear: silence is the goal of harassment—and awareness is the antidote. What happens when a man knows how to manipulate so well that he shows all the right signs? Does all the right actions, but the motive is all self-serving. In this episode Myles & Rex address a new game that is being played by using intentionality as a way to manipulate women into letting their guard down. We discuss the spiritual implications of living this way as a man and the cheat code to discern the truth behind a person's motives.
Therapy terms were meant to heal—so why are they tearing us apart? Today we dig into therapy speak fatigue: how labels like “gaslighting,” “narcissist,” and even “boundaries” get weaponized, why validation isn't agreement, and how to communicate without hiding behind buzzwords. Fighting for you from the Foxhole of Freedom— Number One— The markets are up—crypto currency is up and gold is up—which is good for most Americans—but how long can it last? AND if it turns how bad could it be? Number Two— A judges oceanside mansion burns to the ground—and Democrats are calling it right-wing violence—BEFORE we even know what happened—this is how you create actual political violence— Number Three— More proof today that the Biden Administration used every conceivable tool to weaponize the government against its political opponents—the latest revelation—12 Republicans—including 11 US Senators were spied on during the January 6th investigation—can you imagine if JUST ONE Democrat was spied on ever?!?

It's a case study in how love, anger, and performance collide until nobody knows where the act ends and the damage begins. Using the Masha Slamovich–Akira situation as a lens, we break down the patterns that trap people in toxic cycles—both in relationships and in industries that profit from chaos.Big Idea 1: The Cycle of Toxic LoveRelationships don't start toxic—they start with care, attention, and the promise that someone sees you. But when affection escalates into humiliation, apology, and repetition, love itself becomes a weapon.Affection That Feels Safe at First: “Because I care about you.” What should be comfort becomes a plea: please don't hurt me again.Words as Weapons: “Now you can love the memory of me.” Poetry as a tether, keeping a victim tied to pain.Devotion Turned Against You: “Once again, my love doesn't come with an asterisk.” Unconditional love can become leverage.Identity Attacks: “You're femme as f* and I'm not gay.” Humiliation disguised as honesty cuts deeper than fists.Big Idea 2: Abuse Isn't Always PhysicalNot all damage leaves a bruise. Emotional abuse can linger for years and is often invisible.Invisible Scars: Words like “you'll never be enough” echo long after a busted lip heals.Silence Feeds the Cycle: Unsounded protests allow the pattern to repeat.Love as a Trap: Staying out of hope that love will “win” can keep someone trapped.Abuse Has No Gender: Men can be victims. Women can be abusers. No stereotype protects anyone.Big Idea 3: Wrestling Culture Makes It WorseThis is bigger than two people. Wrestling rewards chaos and blurs lines between performance and personal boundaries.Brutal Schedules and Frayed Tempers: Exhaustion makes patience harder, and abuse more likely.“Work the Gimmick” = Blur the Line: Selling intimacy as a job makes it easy to forget where the act ends.Public Pain as Content: Online outrage consumes real suffering for clicks. The Pop Isn't Worth Your Soul: No angle, booking, or cheer is worth living in fear.Big Idea 4: Lessons We Have to CarryThis story is a mirror for every relationship and community that confuses passion with pain.Anger Is Not Love: Hitting, throwing, or humiliating is control, not passion.Communication Saves Lives: Speak up. Step away. Break the cycle with conversation.Love Yourself Enough to Leave: Walking away isn't weakness—it's survival.Truth Over Gossip: Talk about hard things without turning pain into entertainment.Three Smaller but Crucial IdeasPerformance Isn't Consent: A crowd pop doesn't erase personal boundaries.Algorithms Thrive on Suffering: Outrage and pain get clicks; popularity doesn't equal truth.Healing Requires Accountability: No one is a cartoon villain. Acknowledging harm is step one.Final ThoughtThe Masha–Akira story isn't about picking sides. It's about recognizing patterns before they trap us, refusing to mistake chaos for love, and remembering that no pop, storyline, or relationship is worth your soul.Time Stamp00:00 – Intro, context, and my personal disclaimers.03:00 – My brief interactions with Masha & Akira in the wrestling scene.08:00 – The first text message exchange—what it reveals about anger and control.17:00 – Overstimulation, bad matches, and misplaced frustration.28:00 – Physical abuse and the pictures of injuries.35:00 – Weaponizing sex and status in a toxic relationship.41:00 – Why communication matters more than winning an argument.47:00 – The breakup texts and what they teach us about self-awareness.50:00 – My call for accountability and healthier outlets for anger.
During the Freedom Convoy in 2022, Canadians watched as bank accounts were frozen for supporting the protest. Now, in July 2025, it's happening again. Eva Chipiuk — the lawyer who represented Convoy protestors and cross-examined former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — says Royal Bank of Canada suddenly dropped her after a few cryptocurrency transactions. Is this a warning to all Canadians? If banks can cut off truckers, lawyers, and ordinary citizens, who's safe? Weaponizing bank accounts is a full-frontal assault that puts democracy at risk. This week's long-form interview features Matthew Zolnowski, an expert in critical minerals and national security, Matthew delves into the evolving landscape of critical mineral supply chains and their strategic importance. Zolnowski highlights the cyclical nature of interest in these materials, noting that attention often peaks when prices skyrocket due to disruptions like export controls or environmental crackdowns, only to wane when prices are low. He meticulously traces the U.S. government's increasing involvement, particularly the Department of Defense, from initial small-scale investments to significant Defense Production Act awards, emphasizing that this is a long-term, "oil tanker" effort rather than a quick fix. A central theme in the discussion is the distinction between military and broader civilian critical mineral needs and the varying financial commitments required to secure each, alongside a critical examination of the government's role in private markets, particularly through equity investments and the controversial "Without Regard Clause" of the Defense Production Act.This episode of Mining Stock Daily is brought to you by... “China's New Economic Weapons: Statecraft, Strategy, and the Future of U.S.-China Economic Relations” examines how the Chinese government is increasingly leveraging its economic power for strategic and coercive purposes. In their report, Evan S. Medeiros and Andrew Polk explore the evolution of China's economic toolkit and how various measures are deployed in service of Beijing's political objectives. Drawing on recent case studies, the report assesses the drivers behind the development of these new tools, the implications for foreign firms and governments, and the strategic challenges they introduce into an already fragile U.S.-China relationship. In an interview conducted on July 28, 2025, report co-authors Evan Medeiros and Andrew Polk join Ka Zeng to discuss how China's economic coercion has changed, what it signals about China's future global role, and how the United States and its partners should respond. This week, Zak and Aaron kindly beg your attention to a very serious matter: the censorship of thousands of NSFW games across Steam and Itch.io at the behest of payment processors like Mastercard. Prompted by a grassroots organization with far-right connections called Collective Shout, this incident could have far-reaching implications for free speech, result in LGBTQ+ erasure, and mean that corporations become the arbiters of what does and does not constitute art in the future. Please, enjoy.Missed what's happened? In this episode, I'm getting real as hell about something that's been blocking me for years and I didn't even realize I was doing it.I sat down with the powerhouse herself, Annamarie Green, and within minutes, she had me ugly crying on Zoom and realizing the hard truth:I've been weaponizing my past against my future self.Oof.We talk about how those old versions of us: people-pleasing, perfection-chasing, “too much” little girls - and how they can sneak into the driver's seat and sabotage the woman we're trying to become. And how to finally let that shit go.If you've been feeling stuck, numb, or like you're walking around with a backpack full of bricks (aka childhood trauma, failed relationships, or shame you didn't even know was still there), YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS.

As artificial intelligence programs become more widely accessible, so too do increasingly sophisticated deepfake scams that take advantage of the technology. Earlier this month, the State Department confirmed reports that an imposter pretending to be Secretary of State Marco Rubio reached out to at least five high-ranking government officials. It wasn't the first time a member of the Trump administration had been impersonated by AI; in May, the White House confirmed a similar incident involving Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. But these days, you don't even have to be a big-name politician to end up on the wrong side of a deepfake scam. If your image and voice exist on the internet, enterprising bad actors might be able to use them against you. Reporter David Gilbert, who covers disinformation and online extremism for Wired, joins us to talk about the risks deepfakes pose to the public and how all of us can protect ourselves. And in headlines: President Donald Trump sued The Wall Street Journal for $20 billion over an article claiming he sent a lewd birthday card to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Israeli troops killed dozens of Palestinians seeking food in Gaza Sunday, and CBS is pulling the plug on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.'Show Notes:Read David's stories: https://www.wired.com/author/david-gilbert/Call Congress – 202-224-3121Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday

Send us a textThis episode is a gut punch of clarity and common sense wrapped in Hoist-fueled sarcasm. Aaron and Peaches sits down with retired Marine Corps Colonel Curtis Lee—civil affairs legend, community builder, and founder of Carolinas for Ukraine. From mentoring under three-war combat vets to spearheading grassroots refugee resettlement, Curtis breaks down the real meaning of service after service. And oh yeah—we're not afraid to poke the bear. Illegal immigration? We say no. Strategic, vetted, value-driven immigration? Hell yes. Curtis' program resettles Ukrainian families legally—and it might just be the model for how we fix the entire U.S. immigration dumpster fire.We hit topics the media won't touch with a ten-foot boom mic:The Afghanistan withdrawal debacle
