After much deliberation, the idea grew into something bigger when Annie contacted Jim McCarty to be a part of the show and then return to the full Renaissance lineup, the band he, initially, co-founded. Die aktuellen Automobilkurznachrichten mit Michael Weyland  Thema heute:  Opel präsentiert KI-gestützte Lichtkommunikation in autonomen Fahrzeugen    Es ist reiner Zufall, dass wir in dieser Woche über den Opel Grandland Electric gesprochen haben und heute wieder über einen Grandland sprechen, diesmal aber aus einem anderen Grund. Heute stellen wir nicht das Fahrzeug als solches vor, sondern eine spezielle Technik in diesem Fahrzeug. Auf dem diesjährigen Internationalen Symposium für Automobilbeleuchtung (ISAL), das gerade in Darmstadt stattgefunden hat, präsentierten Opel, Stellantis und die Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt) einen speziellen Opel Grandland. Das Demonstrationsfahrzeug zeigt, wie autonom fahrende SAE-Level 3-fähige Autos – bei denen Fahrer die Hände vom Lenkrad nehmen und den Blick von der Straße abwenden dürfen – in Zukunft über Beleuchtungssysteme mit anderen Verkehrsteilnehmern kommunizieren könnten.    Dabei gehen die Entwicklungsziele Opels bei der Lichttechnik weit über die Verbesserung der Sichtbarkeit hinaus: Es geht darum, sicherere und intelligentere Interaktionen im Straßenverkehr zu schaffen und wie autonome Fahrzeuge Licht nutzen können, um mit Fußgängern und anderen Verkehrsteilnehmern zu kommunizieren.    So kann etwa der beleuchtete Blitz auf dem Opel Grandland durch ein Display ersetzt werden, das sowohl das Markenlogo anzeigt, als auch zur Kommunikation mit anderen Verkehrsteilnehmern und Fußgängern genutzt werden kann. Bereits bestehende Beleuchtungselemente geben die Möglichkeit, Kommunikationsfunktionen leicht hinzuzufügen, sobald autonome Fahrfunktionen in Opel-Fahrzeugen eingeführt werden.   Wenn beispielsweise die Kamerasysteme des Opel Grandland einen Fußgänger auf dem Weg des Fahrzeugs erkennen, wechselt die Signaturbeleuchtung zu Magenta und das Display zeigt ein Warnsignal in derselben Farbe an, um den Fußgänger visuell auf das herannahende Auto aufmerksam zu machen. Gleichzeitig bremst das Fahrzeug. Sobald der Wagen zum Stillstand gekommen ist, wechselt die Signaturbeleuchtung zu Grün und das Display zeigt eine grüne Fußgängerfigur, wie sie von Ampeln bekannt ist. So wird angezeigt, dass das Auto die Gefahr erkannt hat, zum Stillstand gekommen ist und der Fußgänger nun die Straße überqueren kann. Solche Innovationen spiegeln Opels Engagement für verfügbare, intelligente Sicherheitsfeatures für alle Verkehrsteilnehmer wider. Full Text of ReadingsHoly Saturday At the Easter Vigil in the Holy Night of Easter Lectionary: 41The Saint of the day is Saint Gianna Beretta MollaSaint Gianna Beretta Molla's Story In less than 40 years, Gianna Beretta Molla became a pediatric physician, a wife, a mother and a saint! She was born in Magenta near Milano, the tenth of Alberto and Maria Beretta's 13 children. An active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and a leader in the Catholic Action movement, Gianna also enjoyed skiing and mountain climbing. She earned degrees in medicine and surgery from the University of Pavia, eventually specializing in pediatrics. In 1952, Gianna opened a clinic in the small town of Mesero, where she met engineer Pietro Molla. Shortly before their 1955 marriage, Gianna wrote to Pietro: “Love is the most beautiful sentiment that the Lord has put into the soul of men and women.” In the next four years the Mollas had three children: Pierluigi, Mariolina, and Laura. Two pregnancies following ended in miscarriage. Early in her final pregnancy, doctors discovered that Gianna had both a child and a tumor in her uterus. She allowed the surgeons to remove the tumor but not to perform the complete hysterectomy that they recommended, which would have killed the child. Seven months later in April 1962, Gianna Emanuela Molla was born at the hospital in Monza, but post-operative complications resulted in an infection for her mother. The following week Gianna Molla died at home, and was buried in the cemetery of Mesero. Gianna Emanuela went on to become a physician herself. Gianna Beretta Molla was beatified in 1994 and canonized 10 years later. Her liturgical feast is celebrated on April 28. Reflection With great faith and courage, Gianna Molla made the choice that enabled her daughter to be born. We can often wish that we were in different circumstances, but holiness frequently comes from making difficult choices in bad situations.
