What happens when a classic Agatha Christie story is reimagined with the memory of war lingering behind it? In the latest episode of Oh! What a Lovely Podcast, Jessica, Chris and Angus are joined by Kemper Donovan, author and host of All About Agatha, to discuss Agatha Christie's The Seven Dials Mystery and its recent Netflix adaptation. Unlike the familiar worlds of Poirot and Miss Marple, The Seven Dials Mystery blends mystery, comedy and espionage into a lighter and more adventurous story. The new adaptation embraces that spirit while reworking elements of the narrative for modern audiences, including giving the First World War a much greater role than it plays in the original novel.

Our month-long salute to mystery writing legends continues with the queen of crime herself - Agatha Christie. She wrote over sixty novels, dozens of short stories, and created two of the genre's most beloved sleuths - Hercule Poirot, the fastidious and brilliant Belgian detective, and Miss Marple, the kindly amateur investigator. We'll hear four of Dame Agatha's tales recreated for radio: "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" with Orson Welles as Poirot from The Campbell Playhouse (originally aired on CBS on November 12, 1939); "The Tragedy of Marsdon Manner" from Murder Clinic (originally aired on Mutual on October 6, 1942); and "The ABC Murders" and "Where There's a Will" from Suspense (originally aired on CBS on May 18, 1943 and February 24, 1949).

Gabe Poirot died on October 25, 2021, after cracking his skull in half on a Texas road, and for 18 days while his body lay in a coma that doctors said he likely wouldn't survive, his spirit was somewhere else entirely. Gabe sits down with Luke and Nate to walk through his extraordinary near-death experience, from the moment he left his body and was pulled up through the second heaven, teeming with spiritual warfare, to standing face to face with Jesus in the center of a city where every mountain, tree, river, and grain of sand was singing "worthy is the lamb." Jesus showed him the timeline of creation like a cloth, not linear but wrapped up, revealing a pre-Adamic earth, the rebellion of Satan, the dust from which humanity was formed, and the cross where heaven and earth were reconnected. Gabe also describes what he saw in the second heaven, a dimension just behind the visible world where fallen angels, hybrids, and watchers wage a civil war that has been raging since before humans walked the earth. He explains how these entities feed on unforgiveness, manipulate identities, and operate through familiar spirits that most people never detect. But the heart of his story is the overwhelming, inescapable love of Jesus, a love that existed before creation and exploded into existence just to know you by name. Gabe woke up on day 18, fully coherent in a body that should have been a vegetable, with a message from Jesus: tell my family who I really am, I'm coming soon, and I'm coming to get them. What happens when someone dies — and comes back with a testimony that reframes everything?Gabe Poirot experienced a fatal accident and a face-to-face encounter with Jesus. What he saw, understood, and carried back from that place is the substance of this conversation — and it reaches far beyond a near-death experience. This is revelation. About heaven, about the nature of Jesus, about the authority we carry in prayer, and about a love that is not abstract but deeply, personally proven. In this episode, Gabe recounts the moment he left his body and entered heaven, and what he saw when he stood before Jesus — His appearance, His majesty, and the understanding that heaven itself is personified in Him. He describes the spiritual warfare visible in the second and third heavens, what the wounds of Jesus communicate about His love for each of us individually, and what it means to see a human life reviewed from heaven's vantage point. The weight God places on how we love the least among us is not what most of us expect. The conversation moves into territory that will shift how you pray — the reality of time in heaven versus earth, the full scope of what the cross covers across eternity, and how spoken words and prayer move in the heavenly realm, shape timelines, and release divine activity. Gabe also speaks honestly about unforgiveness, the nature of faith, and what it looks like to trust God's timing when answers are slow in coming.Find RestSpace at: https://patreon.com/restspaceRelated MaterialsJoin the International Mentoring Community IMC, to facilitate a safe environment where like-minded people at any stage of their walk can enter into a deeper experience of Jesus. Can Michael and his traveling companion cross the Ural Mountains with a storm on the horizon? Jules Verne, today on The Classic Tales Podcast.   Welcome to The Classic Tales Podcast. Thank you for listening.   One of the things that I love about The Classic Tales is the way folks who normally don't listen to the classics get hooked. I don't know how many times I've heard stories of people who normally wouldn't read Jane Austen, but now love Pride and Prejudice. Or after a few episodes of Poirot, want to read more of Agatha Christie's books. Or Charles Dickens, or Sherlock Holmes, the list goes on and on.   If you've got a friend who might be like this, here's what you do – scroll back through our feed and find one of your favorite episodes. Maybe it's a Jeeves and Wooster episode, or a Lupin mystery, something where afterwards, you were like, man, that was a good story. There's a ton of them! Share that episode with a friend. Now you've got something to talk about next time you see them.   And if you're wanting to try it out yourself, subscribe to the Audiobook Library Card, and gain access to everything. All the novels, short stories and novellas over the last 18 years – I mean, try listening to The Scarlet Pimpernel and not be hungry for more fun. For 9.99 a month, you get access to it all. It's the best audiobook deal on the internet.     Go to audiobooklibrarycard.com or follow the link in the show notes, and download and listen all you want.     And now, Michael Strogoff, Part 3 of 9, by Jules Verne     Follow this link to get The Audiobook Library Card for a special price of $9.99/month       Follow this link to subscribe to our YouTube Channel:       Follow this link to subscribe to the Arsène Lupin Podcast:     Follow this link to follow us on Instagram:     Follow this link to follow us on Facebook:
