There's only one gospel—one incredible, life-changing, Jesus-centred message. But there are heaps of ways to explain it! And sometimes different people need to hear it in different ways to understand why they need Jesus.Even in the New Testament, we see it expressed in different ways. Paul puts it like this in 2 Timothy 2:8:‘Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel.'And in 1 Corinthians 2:2, he says:‘For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.'Same gospel. Different ways of putting it.And that's what this series is about! We want to introduce you to a range of gospel tools—different ways of explaining this same, unchanging good news. None of these tools are perfect. But all of them are useful.Think of this like a toolbox. A good tradie doesn't just have one tool—imagine trying to build a house with only a hammer! No, they've got options. And so do you.But here's the key—tools don't do any good if they stay in the toolbox. So… grab one. Try it out. Start using it!Because the gospel isn't just something to know—it's something to share."

Ministry involves navigating a range of relationships and responsibilities, many of these are pastorally complex and the intensity of these relationships can often leave pastors drained of energy and confused about what help they can offer – How do you get clear on what your responsibility is, and isn't? What help is actually helpful? This workshop offers a family systems view on pastoral care and considers how anxiety in relationships can often overwhelm the intentionality we would like to have in pastoral care. In this workshop we will: Think about the idea of congregations as emotional relational systems Take a step back and observe how patterns of care on offer might be unsustainable or even unhelpful Explore ideas of overfunctioning and underfunctioning and the application of these in ministry where ministers / pastoral carers are primed to overfunction for others Consider how to shift the focus of responsibility and care for someone from an anxious quick fix to having long term emotional and spiritual growth in mind.
