If you follow her work you'll know her style straight away, soft, skin focused, never overdone. We talked career, bridal work, and how she keeps things running without burning out. Then we did what we always do and pulled apart our kits.Katie Moore is a Sydney-based makeup artist, trained in New Zealand about 17 years ago at a four month full time makeup course focused on film and TV.She started out on the MECCA Cosmetica counter in Ponsonby, Auckland, then freelanced on music videos and worked on the TV series Spartacus in New Zealand.She moved to Australia in 2014 and broke into TV commercials after meeting a fashion stylist while waitressing in a Surry Hills cafe.Her work now spans fashion campaigns, lookbooks, e-com shoots, special events and bridal.Bridal work really kicked off for her after she had her son, and she's represented by an agent Kellie from The Future Mrs who handles her wedding bookings, trials and admin.Most of her work comes through referrals and word of mouth, plus Instagram, which she treats as an unofficial portfolio.She doesn't set hard goals, she calls it "manifesting" instead, and this year that included a wedding that landed in Vogue.July is her quiet month. Mary Colussi says her debut novel Touch Grass, winner of the 2025 Penguin Literary Prize, is a 'Noah's ark of her weird interests.' Penguin Literary Prize judge Jack Harkin puts it a little differently: 'part warning, part screwball comedy - and a riot of brilliant, incisive writing about social media, body politics and the effects of worshiping false gods.' In episode 131, Mary shares with James how she went from writing Buzzfeed listicles to finishing the first draft of Touch Grass in under 90 days, and how she used her writing to 'metabolise her anxieties about the future'. She describes how illness has turned her into a 'diplomat for her own physical form' and how she took inspiration from Kurt Vonnegut to juxtapose the absurd with the deeply philosophical.  Mary Colussi is an Australian American writer currently based in Sydney. A graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and the National Institute of Dramatic Art, she was shortlisted for the 2025 Katie Lees Fellowship and received a 2025 Residential Fellowship at Varuna, the National Writers' House. Police have issued an international arrest warrant for Sydney rapper Harley Johan, known as 'YC EWZY', over the murder of Niddal Acherkouk who was shot dead at a Surry Hills petrol station in November. Johan fled Australia in January bound for Kuala Lumpur, prompting a global manhunt involving international law enforcement agencies. The victim had links to outlaw bikie gangs, and police have released fresh CCTV footage of the shooting as they work to identify both gunmen involved in the execution-style attack. At 3am on Sunday 23 March, police were notified of the disappearance of a 19-year-old woman last seen in Erina on the NSW Central Coast.The next day in the afternoon, police found the body of Audrey Griffin in a creek in Erina.At the time, police said the death was not suspicious.But yesterday a 53-year-old man was arrested in Surry Hills, Sydney, and charged with murder in relation to the woman's death.Anti-violence activist Sherele Moody is an award-winning journalist, femicide and child death researcher and the creator of Australia's only memorial to women and children lost to violence. Her projects include Australian Femicide Watch, The RED HEART Campaign and the ground-breaking Australian Femicide and Child Death Map. Sherele has been documenting the killing of women and children since 2015 and her work has been recognised with multiple awards.Another week another woman murdered. Her mission is to educate and advocate - Welcome to The RED HEART Campaign's Memorial to Women and Children Lost to Violence.This Memorial is designed to commemorate lives lost while providing a respectful interactive forum highlighting the impact of violence on our community.It tracks every known Australian woman and child killed as a result of murder, manslaughter or neglect.This is an ongoing project, with no start or end date. The show features a collision of iconic Australian landscapes and fantastical creatures, challenging perceptions of history and memory. Simpson's studio practice reimagines classic works from the Heidelberg School, inserting unexpected monsters into these beloved Australian scenes. This results in works that are bothfamiliar and strangely unsettling, prompting viewers to question their own recollections of the past.Simpson's artistic endeavours aren't bound by Heidelberg incursions. After completing murals in downtown Los Angeles, Simpson returned to Sydney and embarked on a series of “unauthorised nocturnal en-plein-air" painting sessions on building site hoardings. After a brief encounter with the law – and subsequent positive collaborations with the city council and the building sites themselves, we have the large scale pieces at the centre of this show. Chef Elizabeth Binder was born and raised in South Africa, inspired by her fisherman father and great entertaining grandmothers, she attended the internationally recognized Christina Martin School of Food and Wine in her hometown of Durban. After graduating, she landed her first cooking job at the small luxury hotel, Blue Mountain Lodge near the Kruger Park, where she was quickly promoted to head chef at the tender age of nineteen. At Blue Mountain, her reputation rose as she cooked state dinners for both F.W. de Klerk and Nelson Mandela at a pivotal point in South African history.In 1995, Elizabeth packed her bags to embark on a career that would take her around the world. Her first stop was the UK where she worked for Sir Terrence Conran's, Del Ponte and at Clarke's, owned by Alice Waters' mentee Sally Clarke.
