Dan was born in Philadelphia in 1957 to a mostly blue-collar, hard-working Irish family. His father was the first person on either side of the family to earn a college degree. It took him 9 years, working during the day, going to college at night, using the GI Bill. In the mid-60s, GE hired his dad as an engineer for the Apollo space program. Dan’s family packed up and moved to Florida, which is where Dan spent most of his childhood. During a personal retreat in 1977, Dan experienced a call to pastoral ministry. He began studying and preparing for the next several years. In 1985, he was ordained as a pastor and served in the same church for the next 25 years. In August 2010, after 3 of his novels were published by a major publishing house (Revell – Baker Publishing Group), Dan retired from ministry to write fulltime. Dan’s novels have received popular and critical acclaim, getting rave reviews from USA Today and magazines like Publisher’s Weekly, Library Journal and RT Book Reviews. His very first, The Unfinished Gift, won 2 ACFW Carol Awards. It’s still in print 9 years later and has sold over 70,000 copies. It’s available in hardback, paperback, Ebook, audiobook, large-print and in several languages. His other books have won numerous awards and appeared on several national bestseller lists. In addition to his writing, Dan also enjoys public speaking and is frequently invited to speak at writer’s conferences, either as a keynote speaker or teaching workshops and seminars on a variety of writing topics. He has also begun to take on a limited number of clients for fiction coaching. Visit Dans Website to find out more about him.

Description: When bad things happen to people, it is easy for them to ask "WHY". If they are Christians, they may ask why would God allow this to happen? They may not admit that they are mad at God or even realize that they are mad at God. Dr. Shinnerer, an anger management expert, addresses what happens when people are mad at God, how it affects you, and how to go from anger to acceptance.
Like many women, Judy Madsen Johnson has accomplished much for children and families. As a single Mom of five, Judy worked full time as an interior designer. Lisa Sappia – an “ordinary” woman with a heart to serve Lisa Sappia is a mother of three who as a teenager decided that the call on her life was to be an overseas missionary. Often people think of missionaries as somehow stronger, less vulnerable to normal fears, insecurities and problems that the rest of us face every day. Not true. Lisa authentically shares her mission in Paraguay and how her life follows the hills and valleys that all of us face regardless of what we do or where we live. If there is a difference between those who serve out of the country and those here, it is that they take less for granted and earnestly seek your prayers and encouragement to make it through every day. Her honest admissions about her life will inspire you that regardless of your circumstances or where you live, you can make a difference in other people’s lives.

Her childhood home was a shack in a ghetto. A place that people should avoid. And yet, she has broken cultural, health and circumstantial barriers to move ahead. Other than her mother enrolling her in a manners class and reminding her that someday she could be dining with royalty, there was no plan and no preparation for a professional life. She doesn’t come from a wealthy family. She didn’t go to an Ivy League college. Only a few miles from Disney and a Cinderella castle, yet it is Orlando’s dark dirty secret. A place where it’s not safe to drive down the streets after dark. She partied before she took her SAT and fell asleep during the test. She passed anyway. She found an unopened letter with a scholarship under her bed just three days before she had to show up at college and claim it. With only twenty-five dollars to her name, she claimed her spot and went without textbooks for three years. She passed. As a single Mom, she was taken to the hospital with little chance of surviving and beat the odds to not only surviving, but to entering law school. She attributes her successes to her faith which have continued despite her limiting circumstances. She shares her story and her faith in an inspiring and entertaining interview.
