Hey y'all! Welcome to the comeback episode of the 'cast. I'm so happy to be back here with you all. A lot has changed since we last spoke, including the name of this podcast! Another thing changing is that I'll be releasing a new episode monthly, instead of weekly, on the second Tuesday of every month to be exact. For those of you have been here since day one, I say: welcome back, thank you for continuing to ride the wave of cackling laughter with myself and all over the place conversations. If you're new here: welcome, take a load off and enjoy the archive of so many wonderful conversations, friends, and life lessons. I am so proud, excited, and grateful to have the comeback episode featuring my new husband: Mike! I'm so happy he stepped outside of his comfort zone to record this with me. We've been married for two and a half months, but I wanted to share some of the insight we've gained thus far. I can't tell you what a joy it was to have him on the 'cast. Subscribe, like, share, and follow me on Instagram @sarahsotospeaks for the latest updates and episodes! Thank you and God bless you!

Hey y’all!⁣ ⁣ Welcome to another (late) episode of the ‘cast! It is currently freezing, I haven’t had power in almost two days, and I’m sitting in my car to charge my phone, and warm up. What a time to be alive!⁣ ⁣ As we prepare our hearts to enter the upcoming Lenten season, why not listen to be complain about the cold for a little while, and then talk about Lent, what it means, and what we ought to do in order to grow spiritually during this beautiful season. Pick up your cross, ladies and gentlemen! This is not the time to be a lazy Lenten Larry. ⁣ ⁣ We see so many times throughout Sacred Scripture that upon realizing how badly they’ve messed up, God’s people turn away from their sin (that’s a lot more than just feeling sorry about it), and repent! They fast, cover themselves in sackcloth, sit in ashes, and ask for God’s mercy! ⁣ ⁣ Let us not be cafeteria Catholics who pick and chose which doctrines and Traditions to uphold, but rather, let’s be who we were meant to be, as St. Catherine of Siena said, and set the world on fire with the power of the Holy Spirit! ⁣ ⁣ As always, thanks for listening. Please be assured of my prayers for you this Lent. Shoot me a DM if you’re stuck on what to do. Link to episode is in bio! God bless you!⁣ ⁣ #catholic

Martin Luther added and subtracted to the Holy Bible to suit his personal beliefs, he suffered from hemorrhoids, heart disease, emotional and psychological trauma from an extremely abusive childhood, chronic constipation, and bladder stones. Worst of all, he never felt as though God had truly forgiven him. The uncertainty he felt and the scrupulosity under which he suffered led him to (rather than reform the Church, which it truly needed) to completely revolt from it. He began his priestly life deeply devoted to Our Blessed Mother, but couldn’t comprehend the gift of grace, and ended up being a staunch opponent of Immaculate Conception. ⁣ ⁣ Poor misguided, sickly Martin Luther. Unfortunately, many intelligent people who break away from the Church wind up so far away they completely lose sight of reality. So, what was his theology? Faith and not works saves you, the Bible is all you need, and Christ alone suffices. The problem with this?⁣ ⁣

We're following it up this time with the protoevangeium, which means the "first Gospel". Even though the protoevangelium occurs in Genesis 3:15 (waaaay before the New Testament), it is the promise of the Messiah. It is the promise of the Word made flesh, who is Christ, Our Redeemer! Why does man need a Redeemer? Why did the Redeemer have to die? Does "being a good person" mean you get to heaven? And what does that all mean for us? In our last episode we talked with the Deac about St. Thomas Aquinas' Five Proofs for the Existence of God. Now that we've established how utterly reasonable it is to believe that God is real, let's dig a little deeper. Have you ever asked yourself why God created you, why you're here? Have you ever wondered what life means, and what your purpose is? As a young person I received explanations that left much to be desired. Even if they satisfied for a time, that begged the next question, why did a all Good God let man fall? Why did He allow Adam and Eve the opportunity to commit Original Sin? These questions, now more than ever, are extremely important for faithful Christians to be able to answer. Times are strange and secular culture seems to overshadow every area of our lives. How do we, as Christians, engage with others about the toughest questions? In this episode we are joined by the brilliant and wonderful Mauricio Romero to discuss Creation and the Fall of Man.
