Also on Wax Episodic: We cover these other intelligent, engaging, oftentimes delightfully twisted series: Severance (Apple TV): A mind-bending show where office workers' minds are severed into two selves, one that exists only at work, and the other only outside. It's beautiful, brilliant, funny, gripping, mysterious, thrilling, thought-provoking, and meticulously crafted in every way. Hosted by Jason and Karen's innies. Fallout (Amazon): A crazy retro-futuristic, post-apocalyptic melange of wholesomeness and depravity. One of the best looking shows on TV, funny as hell, violent AF (but in a cartoony way), with a great cast, including Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets) and Walton Goggins (The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones). Not to be missed! Hosted by Jason, Kara, and Kasi. Pluribus (Apple TV): Everyone is transformed into a pleasant hive mind — except for Carol (Rhea Seehorn), the most miserable woman on the planet, who must save the world from happiness. It sounds weird, and it is… in the best way. Created by the great Vince Gilligan, of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Hosted by Jason and Karen. IT: Welcome to Derry (HBO): A fun, scary, and surprisingly great prequel to the 2016 and 2019 IT movies, with Pennywise stalking the children of 1962 Derry. A mix of heart, mystery, charm, and some shockingly disturbing Nightmare on Elm Street-esque horror. Cohosted by Shawn of Strange Indeed. Alien: Earth (FX): From the brilliant Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion), this one really scratches that sci-fi itch. A greedy corporate tech overlord transfers the consciousness of a group of terminally ill children into highly performant synth bodies. And the Xenomorph is in it, too. Also, Tim Olyphant! Hosted by Jason, Kara, and Randy. Check out other podcasts on our network at podcastica.com. Thank you! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
We're haggard and recovering from illness, but we're still talking HBO's Lanterns! We discuss episode 1x02, “Trust Fall”! Why is John able to keep that bird construct alive while unconscious? Is Antaan Atrocitus, or he a, ahem, red herring? Is William Macon Green Arrow, or he working for him? Wait, where are all the patients in this hospital? There's so much to discuss!
Finally, a dong! The second episode of Lanterns has naked aliens, a suspicious town hall meeting, a freeway foot chase, a strange bird and a ton of lore getting dropped on the heads of unknowing normies. We talk about how this show is doing a great job of being something non-superhero folks want to watch while also getting in more nerdy background stuff than almost any other show or movie. Before that: Tom Holland is rich! Is Batman being blocked by Paramount? Could The Odyssey be making even more money if it left out one F bomb? All this and more! If you don't care about any of that skip right to 52:56.Want your questions answered on the show? Send an email to ask.cinema.sangha@gmail.com and ask away, and ask about pretty much anything at all. Inspired by the extraordinary way a young swallow drops from its nest into flight, Ashley explores what it means to meet the present moment before certainty arrives.Through a childhood trust fall that ended on the kitchen floor, her struggle to surrender to the flow of dancing, Ram Dass's invitation to Be Here Now and Alan Watts's unforgettable falling cat, this episode asks whether trust is really about knowing we will be caught - or remaining soft enough to respond when we don't yet know what will hold us.For neurodivergent minds accustomed to analysing the past, rehearsing the future and consciously predicting the next move, presence can feel far less peaceful than wellness culture often suggests. But perhaps presence is not the absence of uncertainty. Perhaps it is the moment uncertainty becomes usable. This week's Microdosing Meaning practice invites you to walk in on yourself worrying, ruminating or simply wandering through the ongoing stream of thought - and then walk in on the moment itself. What might become available when you meet it through awe, curiosity and play? The episode closes with a gentle Yoga Nidra for cultivating trust: a loving homage to one of Ashley's favourite Yoga Nidra teachers, Ally Boothroyd. Post long weekend, things get absolutely wild. First up: the giveaway nobody saw coming. Christian reflects on the Cabanas he never expected anyone to want, only to discover they’re the most popular item the show has ever given away. Emails at 2 a.m., desperate pleas from listeners, and complete chaos ensue leaving Christian stunned and declaring, “I’ve never known anything like it.” Then, the conversation takes a very different turn. Christian shares a story that will make you laugh, cringe, and maybe double-check your own knowledge of the law. While at the beach, he witnessed something completely shocking and, in classic Christian fashion, admits he didn’t even know it was illegal. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Aria and Lian are well and truly stranded! Where can they turn? Who can they trust? It may be time to take a FALL of faith...
You are exactly where you're meant to be.That quote either triggers you or frees you.The difference is whether you're hoping or knowing.Hope is wishing. Belief is hoping. Faith is knowing. When you do a trust fall, you don't hope someone catches you—you know they will. That's the difference between being a puppet of false religion and truly knowing thyself. The sky doesn't judge whether it's raining or sunny. The ocean doesn't apologize for being angry. They just are. And so are you.A radiator pipe split in my house recently. I could have just fixed it. Instead I asked: where is the undetectable leak in my life? Where is water draining that will turn into mold if I don't address it? God communicates in subtlety, in practicality. Your job is to create enough space to ask the questions. This episode reveals why "you are exactly where you're meant to be" doesn't negate your power to change, the role of grace and surrender in spiritual evolution, and how to move with faith rather than second-guessing. The only constant is change. Pastor Caleb Cole opens our series The God Who Gave with a message about trust. Looking at Isaiah 9, Galatians 4, and Romans 8, he reminds us that God's greatest gift—His Son—is proof we can trust His timing, His plans, and His heart. When everything feels uncertain, Jesus is enough.

We had a great time chatting with Hannah DeLynn about her album “Trust Fall” available everywhere! We learned how this record cam from learning from her own hardships andfacing the things that were keeping her stuck. Hannah also gave us great advice about learning guitar and slowing down. Hannah Delynn, a Nashville-based vocalist/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, independently released her debut full-length album, Trust Fall, on September 5. Hannah'sability and openness to view life from many perspectives result in songs that are emotionally engaging and compelling. Finding freedom through vulnerability, this record is a testament to accepting self-responsibility and the myriad mixed emotions that entails. Originally from Florida, Hannah found her way to Nashville in 2013 by way of New Zealand, British Columbia, and Australia, gathering stories (soon to be songs) along the way. This collection of songs honors a potent sea of change in Delynn's life as she reflects on a season of deep grief, loss, betrayal, and heartbreak, as well as beauty, love, generosity, and friendship. This week we'll discuss the trustworthy One and the untrustworthy alternatives; the danger in picking the wrong partner when committing a felony; a staple of trust-building in the corporate world that people don't actually trust; and the difference between a team with a great player and a team. We do every aspect from research to recording, it is a DIY labour of love and craft. Missing Witches is entirely member-supported, and getting to know the members of our Coven has been the most fun, electrifying, unexpectedly radical part of the project. These days the Missing Witches Coven gathers in our private, online coven circle to offer each other collaborative courses in ritual, weaving, divination, and more; we organize writing groups and witchy book clubs; and we gather on the Full and New Moon from all over the world. Our coven includes solitary practitioners, community leaders, techno pagans, crones, baby witches, neuroqueers, and folks who hug trees and have just been looking for their people. Our coven is trans-inclusive, anti-racist, feminist, pro-science, anti-ableist, and full of love. If that sounds like your people, come find out more. In today's Workday Playdate Snack, we're talking about the kind of trust fall that doesn't involve closing your eyes and hoping Linda from Accounting catches you. Nope—we're talking about the invisible, emotional kind. The one that happens during reorgs, layoffs, and those delightfully vague “strategic shifts” when your team is quietly wondering, “Are we safe? Can we trust you? Or should I start updating my LinkedIn headline to ‘Open to Work'?” If you're leading through change (or just trying to survive it)—this snack is for you. The Problem: Here's the situation: Your company is “reimagining,” “realigning,” or “restructuring”—aka, no one knows what's actually happening. And while the all-hands slides say “exciting opportunities ahead,” your team is refreshing their résumés and watching your every move. Why? Because trust doesn't disappear in a reorg—it falls. And someone's gotta catch it. That someone? You. Trust isn't built through promises—it's built through presence. Through honesty. Through leaders who are willing to say: “Here's what I know. Here's what I don't. And here's what I do know—we'll figure it out together.” The Improv Hack to Try: The “Yes, And… But Also” Technique Here's how to lead when everything's unclear—without pretending to have all the answers.Use this structure when delivering change or uncertainty: “Yes, and…” to validate what's real and open space for what's possible “But also…” to acknowledge fears and bring humanity into the room Try this: “Yes, we're going through changes, and I know that can feel unsettling. But also—I believe in this team's ability to stay connected and support one another.” It's not spin. It's not sugarcoating. It's leadership that's rooted in reality and hope. Try it at your next team meeting. Watch what happens when trust stops falling—and starts rising.
