In this special crossover episode, Mark welcomes longtime friend and psychiatrist Dr. Joe Shrand to discuss the power of self-awareness and the "I-M Approach"—a framework for understanding human behavior without shame or blame. The two explore what it means to share your voice, the long arc of legacy, and the lessons of 19th-century physician Ignaz Semmelweis, whose work saving lives was tragically dismissed. From creativity to conflict, social media to AI, Dr. Joe and Mark take listeners on a wide-ranging conversation grounded in kindness, curiosity, and connection. Learn more about Dr. Joe and his writing on his website and check out The Dr. Joe Show wherever you get your podcasts! Takeaways It's difficult to accept who you are if you're judging yourself. The I-M Approach allows for self-reflection and change. Legacy is about how you want to be remembered. Home and Social Domains significantly influence our identity. Creativity can be a powerful form of expression and escape. Semmelweis's story highlights the importance of challenging the status quo in medicine. We all want to feel valued and respected in our lives. Kindness does not equate to weakness; it requires strength. Trust is essential for open and honest relationships. Self-awareness is crucial for personal growth. Self-reflection is crucial amidst distractions. Hesitation in sharing one's voice can stem from fear and uncertainty. Overnight success is often a myth; persistence is key. Social media can be a powerful tool for spreading messages. Long-form conversations allow for deeper connections and understanding. Collaboration can amplify efforts to create change. AI has the potential to impact humanity positively if used wisely. The Steelers backup QBs looked good on Saturday. Will Mason Rudolph become the fan's choice once again? Can Skylar Thompson make the team? Joe references Brady's first year in Tampa has a guideline for Rodgers this year. Is Mason Rudolph the best backup in the NFL? We run down some of the other backup QBs. Are people getting ahead of themselves with Joey Porter Jr? We know what Rudolph is at this point. Bob likes what he saw from Arthur Smith. A caller suggests trading Mason to give Howard valuable reps. Tomlin indicated maybe no Rodgers this preseason. Justin Fields looked good in his preseason game. A caller thinks the Steelers are a legit contender and thinks it's up to Rodgers on if he plays in the preseason. Another caller is optimistic about the corners helping the entire defense. Kaleb Johnson wasn't very impressive. Joe gives his take on Cam Heyward holding in and provides examples of the Steelers treating him well over the years. Fans seem to be against him. The lack of postseason success makes it harder to justify big contracts for Heyward and Watt. Cam could've put this out on his podcast but didn't. This news snuck up on everyone. The Steelers have become pushovers. They didn't acquiesce to Bell less than a decade ago. We still don't know what exactly Cam is asking for. Cam's reputation is taking a hit right now, fairly or unfairly. Would fans be happy if he was traded today? Starkey gets excited about a golf course recommendation. Tomlin didn't get any questions because nobody was there seemingly. A caller says Cam should've signed a 1-year deal only. More callers chime in on Cam, with one saying he deserves to seek what he's worth. Bob seems less bothered by Cam than Joe and most fans. Joe heard from Ron yesterday. Pomp did a call in honor of Donny Football. Donny was very excited. Steelers tidbits: why can't you dunk on the goalposts, Broderick Jones looked good, the hawk eye measurement has arrived. Who were some great singers and actors? Ben Cherington had another baffling quote, this time about Bubba Chandler. Could the Pirates bring back Tommy Pham? Why are we still talking about Triolo and Suwinski? Mullys drops in with a special gift to Joe from Oakmont. Joe runs down the performance of several QBs who the Steelers could've taken - Milton, Dart, Sanders, Milroe, Fields, Joe had a crazy sneeze.

Cam Heyward wants a raise, and he's clearly underpaid right now. So which side are we taking? How about with Boswell? Where do the Pirates and Skenes go next? Jason was the subject of a debate between Poni and Donny on if 93.7 the Fan could beat the Pony League World Series teams. A caller says Cam is destroying the chemistry. Another suggests player incentive bonuses could've solved this. Fans generally seem to think Cam is in the wrong. Ray Fittipaldo joins to give his perspective on Cam's situation, the fan reaction to it, who he's going to be watching in the preseason opener, Will Howard's injury outlook, Roman Wilson's opportunity, the battle at safety. We give numbers both for and against Cam in this argument. A couple of more callers give their perspective. one saying it's a bit embarrassing of a look for Cam. Cam Heyward for Terry McLaurin? That's probably not happening. A caller thinks this could be a scary precedent that will recur every year. The court of public opinion is clearly against Cam. Jeff Hathhorn is in studio to give his thoughts on Heyward and Boswell and if he thinks it'll be resolved, Jeff gives the biggest stories he'll be following in the preseason game, the new look offense, Aaron Rodgers seems like a real person, and Juan Thornhill's comments. The Pirates are winning, and that feels like a problem. Joe reacts to a clip from Rosenthal about trading Keller and Bednar. Could Cherington possibly keep the main trade chips around in an attempt to finish strong. Why was Cherington kept when Shelton was fired? Could Ben Cherington be the worst GM in Pittsburgh sports history? The market for relievers is hot. Is Adolis Garcia a potential option for the Bucs? We run down the list of other hitters who have been rumored, both in the majors and in the minors. How do the Pirates have no good catchers anymore? What is Cherington thinking right now? A caller gives insight on a few prospects the Pirates could target. The Pirates drafted a guy in the 2nd round and he went to college instead. The General offers up a Ryne Sandberg card and throws in Nick Kurtz. Joe asks about a Caitlin Clark card. Mark Kaboly joins to preview the padded practice today, Darnell Washington in backs on backers, if Roman Wilson is in the equation, the crowded tight end room, Mark details his relationship with Aaron Rodgers, McAfee at camp today. Crowley woke up John Wehner way too early. Could KeBryan Hayes be on the move? Joe is worried about mosquitos and aliens. Will Cherington take a big risk or a low risk, could the Pirates have acquired Josh Naylor instead of Spencer Horwitz, what he actually thinks the Pirates will do. Will Hayes be on the move, what's the timeline for Konnor Griffin, who are the top prospects the Pirates could target, reacting to Skenes comments about the team needing to make moves. Joe recaps his adventurous weekend. We react to the incredible poem written by Dave Parker that his son recited yesterday at the HOF. Will there be another Pirate in the HOF? The Pirates have squandered another great Skenes season. Fans shouldn't be hesitant to trade Keller for a bat. Steven Kwan and Jarren Duran are possible targets. The Cubs could also move a top prospect for Keller. Now is the time to take some risks. Joe didn't have cell service for almost a full week. We agree that cell phones have ruined the world. Skenes ERA is unparalleled in the past century. A caller points out that the Pirates gave Parker a million dollars. A caller blames the hitting coach. An update on Bubba Chandler. A caller is ornery about trading Mitch Keller. There's always going to be uncertainty trading for a hitter who hasn't been proven in the MLB. Deshon Elliott says the Steelers defense could possibly be the best in the league this year. Where's the proof of this? The numbers are mediocre. Haven't we learned our lesson from previous seasons? Is there delusion with the D? Will it be built for the long haul? Cordarrelle Patterson says he's released. Aaron Rodgers had a mature response to Terry Bradshaw's comments. Joe is still open to the idea that it could work, at least there's a chance. Mike DeFabo joins to react to the release of Cordarrelle Patterson and share a funny story about him, the injuries along the offensive line, Mike's reaction to the Aaron Rodgers experience, his usage under center, the players who have most impressed and most disappointed, an under the radar player opening eyes, what he's seen from the top rookies, Will Howard is the fan favorite and the crowd reaction to Rodgers. Sean's look around the NFL: Kenny Pickett's injury, Shemar Stewart finally signed with the Bengals, Christian Wilkins released, Travis Hunter could be Ohtani. Noah Hiles joins us from San Fran to give the latest on Mitch Keller's trade outlook, Bednar's return could be on the rise, which established MLB players could be trade targets. Percentage chance of trading: Hayes, Cruz, Reynolds, and more. Why has Reynolds struggled so much? A discussion about San Francisco and the other Joe Starkey. Joe shares his favorite Steelers memories of Cordarrelle Patterson and gets sad thinking about it. What will be the tenor of this year's camp? Could Kaleb Johnson be a better fit and overall player than Najee Harris.

The start of the Steelers season is today. There's plenty of excitement. What is the realistic path this year. Austin says 12-5 is the absolute ceiling. The tackles are a major question mark. What is the floor? 6 wins? Rodgers is bad, the run defense continues to struggle, the old guys look old, WR2 remains a weakness. Austin still predicts 10-7, but feels like it'll be a better season than last. Derrick Harmon has barely been discussed lately with all of the other big Steelers news. Jalen Ramsey is #66 on the NFL Top 100. Can the Steelers improve their run defense? A caller says the lines will determine how the season goes, while another is down on the team because of Tomlin. Is Arthur Smith going to utilize his talent properly? The General has a Skenes card of the week and highlights some big card releases. Patrick Queen was worried about getting traded, maybe because he had a rough year. Losing Elandon Roberts might prove costly. A caller lectures us for thinking the Steelers are going to the Super Bowl (we don't think this). What are the Bengals thinking with their defense? Big Ben thinks it's the Super Bowl or bust this year? We listen to some of Aaron Rodgers' previous comments as we await his arrival today. Mark Kaboly joins to give a sarcastic response about the Pirates, Aaron Rodgers has not appeared to the media, Jalen Ramsey has been reserved, Mark gets distracted by an expensive vehicle and then gets lost, Broderick Jones' outlook, and then Mark sees TJ Watt but doesn't wave to him. Dan Zangrilli reports live from the Pirates game and their impressive showing against the Tigers, Mitch Keller's trade outlook, his time with Chuck in Uniontown today. Jeff Hathhorn jumps on to discuss TJ Watt's media availability, his takeaways from Jalen Ramsey's comments.
