There is a new energy this season and belief flowing unlike years past. We believe the Steelers are legit contenders. How do you grade the Steelers offense and defense? Russell Wilson deserves an A or high B for his game on Sunday. The Steelers defensive line and linebackers get an A.
Hour 4 with Joe Starkey and Bob Pompeani: Grading the Steelers offense and defense after stunning the Commanders. Russell Wilson deserves an A or high B for his game on Sunday. We give Mike Tomlin a good grade on his Commanders report card. Steelers had a good plan offensively and defensively. Should Mike Tomlin finally win Coach of the Year?
Steve Palazzolo from the 33rd Team joined the show. Steve is impressed by what he has seen with the Steelers offense since Russell Wilson has entered the fray. He likes Russ has really raised the ceiling of the offense and including players we didn't have high expectations for. Steve still thinks the Ravens are a better team, but could see the Steelers splitting the series with them. Steve believes this is the best team since the COVID year and maybe prior to that. Steve said “damage can be done” with this team if they get to the postseason. Could Darius Slayton be added to this offense? Steve isn't super concerned with the Steelers defense and thinks TJ Watt is probably looking at another Defensive Player of the Year award.
The Steelers offense forced the Giants to call a timeout on the opening drive. The Giants tackle that called out TJ Watt and said he'd locked down Watt is sticking by his comments that he shut him down despite allowing 2 sacks and a forced fumble.
Hour 2 with Joe Starkey: The Steelers offense is finding success it hasn't seen in over five years. Author of Gridiron Legacy: Pro Football's Missing Origin Story, Greg Ficery joined the show. Greg shared stories about the early days of football and how Pennsylvania helped shape the game as we know it. Our Steelers win totals have gone up!
Joe thinks Russell Wilson gets an A, but Ray Fittipaldo gives Wilson a B. The running backs easily get an A. Wide receivers get a B. Where do other positional groups ranks? Brian Batko gives us his grades.
Hour 3 with Joe Starkey and Brian Batko: Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette joined us for the remainder of the show. Grading the Steelers offense after defeating the Giants. Brian and Joe grade the Steelers defense, who receive much harsher grades.

The first half was a struggle, but once Wilson knocked off the rust the Steelers dominated the second half. The defense handled Aaron Rodgers and didn't allow him to make a significant impact on the game, keeping the Jets off the scoreboard in the second half. Mike Tomlin was the 'lone ranger' picking Russell Wilson, and he made the right call.
Hour 1 with Joe Starkey and Bob Pompeani: Russell Wilson breathed new life into the Steelers offense. The first half was a struggle, but once Wilson knocked off the rust the Steelers dominated the second half. The defense handled Aaron Rodgers and didn't allow him to make a significant impact on the game, keeping the Jets off the scoreboard in the second half. Starkey thinks we should have fun today and appreciate the win.
Hour 3 with Joe Starkey and Bob Pompeani: Penn State came back and beat USC in overtime in a stunner. Joe thinks Penn State will finish the season undefeated. Bob complimented new OC Andy Kotelnicki. Pitt's defense came alive in the second half but the offense fell apart. Cal's struggling kicker missed the game-winning field goal and it was a questionable coaching day for Cal. Alan Saunders and Zachary Smith discuss all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode, we discuss the team losing starting RG James Daniels for the rest of the season due to a torn Achilles. Hour 2 with Joe Starkey: Ray doesn't think Russell Wilson will play next week in Denver. They could score 24-28 points per game, but the evidence isn't out there and easy for people to be skeptical. On today's episode, we discuss Russell Wilson talking about what he needs to do to get back as it looks like we are trending towards a second straight start for Justin Fields.
