UKRavens Podcast - A Baltimore Ravens Podcast from the United Kingdom
In this week's episode, Ian, James, Gordon and Ben relive a primetime palate-cleanser in South Florida as the Ravens thumped the Dolphins 28–6 on Thursday Night Football. Fresh off a hamstring layoff, Lamar Jackson put on a clinic with four touchdown passes and a 143.2 passer rating, while the offense mixed timely shots with controlled tempo to keep Miami on ice. From there, the lads dig into the offensive line and run-game picture. Progress in Miami, but still a season-long story of lurches and growing pains after so much turnover up front. They talk pressure rates, continuity, and how Derrick Henry's usage is evolving as the blocking gels, with context from preseason unit grades and midseason analysis. On defense, it was a “bend-don't-break” masterclass: Baltimore conceded yards but slammed doors in the red zone, stacked takeaways, and looked notably faster with multiple rookies flashing. The crew highlight those rookie contributions and celebrate the chess-piece value of Kyle Hamilton, whose all-over-the-field role lets Zach Orr keep disguises on every down. Trade talk heats up too. The team react to Baltimore acquiring Dre'Mont Jones to juice the pass rush. A low-cost flyer with upside, and what it signals about the front office's belief in this defense over the next two months. They also unpack the headline-grabbing Jaire Alexander deal sending the former Pro Bowler to Philadelphia, why it happened, and what it means for the Ravens' corner rotation and cap flexibility. Finally, it's a Week 10 preview at Minnesota: U.S. Bank Stadium noise, a rejuvenated Vikings team, early odds that make Baltimore road favourites, and the key matchups they think will travel . From protection rules versus simulated pressures to Lamar's perimeter options against a young secondary.

In this episode of Behind the Uniform - Season 3, sophomore safety Mason Curtis is featured as an emerging talent within Michigan's secondary. Curtis reflects on his breakout freshman season and outlines his aspirations for the future. He notes his physical progress, currently standing at 6-4 and weighing 213 lbs., and emphasizes his adaptability to various coaching styles and positions. Curtis attributes his continued commitment to Michigan, following Coach Jim Harbaugh's transition to the professional ranks, to the trust he placed in the coaching staff. The episode also examines key takeaways from Behind the Uniform's financial literacy boot camp. Curtis discusses valuable insights gained from the "Playbook for Prosperity" seminar hosted by the University of Michigan Credit Union, highlighting the importance of budgeting, as well as guidance on long-term financial planning provided by David Himich of The Himich Group at Morgan Stanley. Returning to football-related discussions, Curtis elaborates on his versatility and ambitions to contribute across multiple defensive roles, drawing inspiration from prominent players such as Isaiah Simmons and Kyle Hamilton. He concludes by expressing confidence in both the team's depth and versatility—particularly within the defensive backfield—and shares his expectations for a distinguished season for the Wolverines. EVENT REMINDERS: Come see me in CHICAGO TONIGHT at 6PM. U-M Club of Fairfield is hosting an online Q&A at noon tomorrow. And then Monday, August 25 is U-M Club of Greater Detroit's kickoff w/ me, Isaiah and Henschke, and hosted by Ira. Things Discussed: The NCAA's NOA: Not surprised it was nonsense; not surprised it was just money because they can't risk operating this anywhere that facts matter. Surprised how little they actually had. They only had one two witnesses, both of them whom the report called liars, for Signgate, and one witness, whom the report also called a liar. Whenever evidence was presented it undermined their conclusions. This was, from the start, about getting Harbaugh out of college football, because he was not wired for putting up with their bullshit. Sherrone--and this comes off in the report and in his response--is one who knows how to play ball. That's all they want: is for you to tell them they're relevant. If you play ball (Sherrone, Compliance, Partridge) they praise you; if you expose them for the frauds they are, they'll do all they can. Nobody still staying it mattered is someone you ever have to listen to again. Michigan got better without Stalions. They were that good because they were better football players. I never want to hear Stalions's name again, because it just takes away from the actual accomplishments of Mike Sainristil. Game in Germany? Not 100% sure it's happening. Me: whatever. I'm not gonna go to Europe to see one of my teams; I want to go to Europe to see Europe. Savion Hiter: The balance stands out. He has a Beastquake on his highlights: Reminds me of watching Ricky Powers as a kid. Comp will probably be Corum. Big Nickel: The math is when on offense removes a slot for a TE they still have a lot of receiving ability on the field; when Michigan matches by removing a DB for a DT they now have to match the TE with somebody else, and thus far it's been the SAM: Harrell, Stewart, Guy. Offenses in the NFL have been exploiting that so defenses have come up with big nickels (e.g. Kyle Hamilton) in place of their SAMs who still have the length to hold an edge in the run game against a TE but can also cover a TE down the field. Mason Curtis has the perfect build for it. Questions people ask on the road? How good is Bryce, what will the offense look like, who is this guy Craig Ross?
