Venus enters Aries on 31 May, and Mars moves from Cancer into Leo on 6 June, joining Ketu. These transits begin to heat things up, potentially triggering political and/or economic upheaval due to some sort of attack or natural disaster.Saturn and Neptune move closer together, indicating further destabilisation, perhaps because of a major attack and conflict indicated by Mars and Ketu. There's likely some sense of disappointment and sadness that sweeps through the world. Whatever happens, the knock-on effect may lead to some necessary changes. The Mars-Ketu meeting in fiery Leo may result in a major attack on a world leader, for example. But it may also show a leader themselves starting an attack. Expect increased risks of water-related disasters, revolutions, terrorism, and cyber warfare. Rising summer temperatures could intensify both climatic events and violent incidents around the world. While this brings disruptions to the world beginning in June, because Mars moves into an opposition to Saturn and Neptune in August, the intensity doesn't let up for some time. Yet, it also creates opportunities to reshape everything. This could lead to profound personal breakthroughs that allow you to see yourself and what you're capable of in a whole new light.Despite the potential global turmoil, the next few months hold promise for renewal once the old makes way for the new.By mid-June, the Sun aligns with Mercury and Jupiter in Gemini, marking a period of more mental stimulation and excitability. Jupiter's aspect to the north node in Aquarius increases this as well, fuelling more protests and maybe even a revolution. As outdated structures collapse, reflect carefully on what you wish to happen next.Once Jupiter makes its way to Cancer by October, it offers a more hopeful preview of what's to come in 2026. Focus on making the most of your resources to build the life you truly want. If everything else is falling apart, why not take advantage of the flux and dream up something completely new?As Saturn and Neptune come together for the first time since 1989, it's time to dream up a new reality, while being mindful of what was only ever going to be a fantasy. While it may begin to feel like a come down for some dream that is more obviously not possible from June, it lends itself to creating something from what is possible. The more you engage with what is, the more likely you'll build something out of the ruins of what is no longer.

The New Moon in Taurus occurs in Rohiṇī, the Moon's favourite lunar mansion. Rohiṇī means “the red one,” reflecting its warmth, sensuality, and creative energy. Symbolised by a chariot and ruled by the god of creation, it brings a fertile, abundant energy—ideal for envisioning new beginnings, though the actual day of the New Moon is better suited for reflection and planning rather than action. With Venus exalted by degree, there's a heightened appreciation for beauty, love, and comfort, even if tangible results aren't yet visible. This adds to Rohiṇī's natural flair for luxury and accumulation. However, challenges arise: Mars is debilitated in Cancer, and all visible planets lie on one side of the Lunar Nodes, forming an intense kālsarpa yoga. This configuration, along with Uranus near the New Moon, signals instability.Though Taurus prefers predictability, these transits demand adaptability. Be open to unexpected shifts and find ways to ground yourself mentally as the month unfolds. This New Moon invites both inner steadiness and outer flexibility to navigate a rapidly changing landscape.

The Full Moon reaches its peak at the end of Libra, in the lunar mansion Viśākhā. This lunar mansion spans Libra and Scorpio, blending the softness of Venus with the intensity of Mars. Its name, meaning "two-branched," symbolises choice and duality—often linked to Libra's scales. In the Vedic tradition, Viśākhā is also symbolised by a decorated archway, representing milestones and commitment.Viśākhā inspires willpower, ambition, and the courage to pursue our goals. While it supports focused determination, it also allows for compromise. Ruled by Agni (fire) and Indra (king of the gods), it carries strong spiritual and transformative energy. This Full Moon is ideal for spiritual practice, healing, and committing to a clear path. With the Sun exalted in Aries, decision-making is bold and confident, even if clarity takes time. Venus, also exalted in Pisces, encourages acceptance and helps us release what no longer serves us, especially as it moves past the recent eclipse degree. As Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter align opposite the Moon, this lunation brings resolution and optimism, making it easier to choose a path and feel good about it.

Mercury moves out of debilitation by May 6, leaving Venus behind in Pisces. Venus's exaltation can now be enjoyed without feeling overwhelmed by trying to work out all the details. Mercury in Pisces may have taken the sheen off an exalted Venus, possibly through things not working out as planned. Nothing like something going wrong to bring down the mood! With the Sun now also exalted in Aries, we can begin to feel more confident in the direction our life is taking, with Mercury in Aries more determined to plan, while Venus in Pisces can enjoy the whole process. On May 14, Jupiter leaves Taurus and enters Gemini, which is a major shift of focus and search for meaning. The downside of this is looking for meaning where we only find a lot of information, leaving us searching for something beyond ‘facts'.With Saturn and Neptune in Pisces now moving into a square aspect to Jupiter in Gemini, the need for more information is likely to increase misinformation. Jupiter is moving swiftly through Gemini, increasing unproductive debates that skip over the details; something we must return to by the end of the year. Jupiter clears Gemini in just five months by October 18, before it returns to Gemini by December 6, bringing us back to the drawing board. The Sun enters Taurus by May 13, with Mercury joining the Sun by May 23. This shows more potential for mental stability, just in time, as Rahu enters Aquarius and Ketu moves into Leo on May 14 (mean node) or May 29 (true node), depending on the lunar node calculation. Together with Jupiter in Gemini, lots of new information is likely to lead to a big shake-up.The nodes moving signs are a big change in May, where unconscious drives dictate the trajectory behind the scenes. This signals global shifts and potential uprisings, as Rahu in Aquarius emphasises rebellions, while Ketu in Leo rejects authority. Jupiter in Gemini keeps an eye on Rahu in Aquarius, fuelling revolutions. Without hope for something better, revolutions do not happen. This comes via Jupiter's ingress into Cancer by October, but it is only a brief glimpse into what is possible by next year, once Jupiter returns here in June 2026.As all the visible planets align on one side of the lunar nodes through July, a yoga or combination called kālsarpa, more extremes are possible. This combination occurs every two weeks from the end of April, as and when the Moon joins the visible planets, creating more extreme imbalances. This shows a more divisive atmosphere and turnabouts we hadn't planned, making everything feel slippery, more fated and unpredictable.Jupiter's aspect to Rahu asks us to disregard any media that presents untruths, especially while Rahu continues to overshadow Pisces with Saturn and Neptune, which get closer throughout the summer. Saturn remains closely tied to Rahu in Pisces throughout May, until it moves into Aquarius, further challenging our perceptions of what we think is possible or true.Kālsarpa is likely to make everything feel impossible or a given, with no in-between or much balance when things go through such extremes.

On April 27, the Moon and Sun align at the cusp of two lunar mansions: Aśvinī and Bharaṇī, in the middle of sidereal Aries. This lunation, like recent ones, occurs on a threshold.Aśvinī represents swift, instinctive action, while Bharaṇī brings restraint and focus. Aries contains both these tendencies: bold initiative and a struggle with self-discipline. This New Moon calls for mindfulness, especially as many planets gather in the 12th house from it, inviting reflection and surrender. There are strong positive influences: the Sun and Venus are exalted, and the Moon will move into exaltation shortly after. Venus and Jupiter flank the New Moon, offering protection and grace. We need as much of this as possible for a New Moon in Aries, with Mars in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn. This shows the potential for feelings of anger. Three days after, on April 29 or 30 (depending on your location), Akshaya Tritiya occurs—the most auspicious day of the year, when both luminaries are strong. It's a powerful time to start something new, with lasting potential.Still, we must guard against self-deception. While the energy feels ripe for anything, not everything is aligned to happen. The key is to focus clearly on what matters and let go of what isn't meant to be. This is Aries' true challenge: surrendering what cannot be, while charging forward with what can.

This Full Moon occurs at the last degree of Virgo and the Sun at the last degree of Pisces, on the edge of something great. It falls in the lunar mansion Citrā, ruled by the 'celestial architect' and symbolizing creativity, design, and the pursuit of an ideal life. Virgo plans perfection; Libra, which follows, reminds us to keep everything in balance.Yet, it's a complex lunation. Mercury, ruler of this Moon, is conjunct with Rahu and Neptune—blurring facts with fantasy. Emotions may feel heightened, and rational thinking may be elusive. Venus stations opposite the Full Moon, offering a turning point—potentially positive if we remain open. Meanwhile, as the Sun completes its Pisces journey, we may feel things ending and beginning simultaneously, stirring excitement and uncertainty.Mars in Cancer aspects the Moon as it shifts into Libra, fueling passions. With much in flux, equilibrium may be difficult to maintain. Yet hope remains. Jupiter aspects the Moon from Taurus and exchanges signs with Venus in Pisces, encouraging harmony, healing, and productive dialogue despite the emotional intensity.

Mars re-enters Cancer on April 2, bringing with it frustration and lack of direction, or at least a direct direction. With Saturn moving into Pisces, beginning the process of dissolving old structures, concerns mount around security and stability. As Saturn conjoins the north node and Neptune, further concern about what is sustainable is likely. Discernment is crucial. While some dreams may come true at this point, some dreams are nightmares. Stay open as new possibilities begin to reveal themselves.Mercury and Venus remain retrograde until the second week of the month; Mercury turns direct on April 7, followed by Venus on April 13. As problems get ironed out, practical steps can be taken in whatever had previously stalled. Yet their transits alongside the eclipse and Neptune further increase a sense of overwhelm, as if we are cast adrift in endless possibilities but with no real sense of how to progress. At least their direct motion brings a way forward. Some dreams may crumble, but others can take shape at this time. Patience brings rewards—not by fulfilling every aspiration, but by finding peace around those that were never meant to be.The Sun's entry into Aries, its exaltation sign, is hot on the heels of a Full Moon on April 13. This signals a call to action. Yet, with ongoing upheavals, care is needed before taking the leap.Saturn's conjunction with Rahu in Pisces throughout the month adds further uncertainty, and anxiety, with Neptune keeping the details vague for now.We end the month on a more positive note, as on April 29-30 we have Akshaya Tritiya, the auspicious ‘undiminished third lunar day' when both the Sun and Moon are exalted. This year, we also have Venus exalted, exchanging signs with Jupiter in Taurus, which conjoins the Moon. This offers a powerful moment to manifest our boldest dreams, despite the initial lack of clarity around the details. Whatever is begun on this day is said to have staying power. Use it to begin something new in your life you wish to last.As things settle down into the end of April, we're likely to be a bit more clear about what to do next, with the Sun in Aries giving us the confidence to take action. We must be mindful of overdoing it, of course, as Mars continues to transit Cancer through June 6.April is a mixed bag of results because of the retrogrades and the after-effects of the eclipses, which get triggered into May by Mercury and Venus. Along with Mars' weakness and the Sun's strength, we're at least feeling more confident about what we're doing at this point, even if we don't always feel motivated to just do it.

This is a powerful New Moon, marking a partial solar eclipse and the start of the New Lunar Year in the Vedic calendar—a time of profound reset. While it may feel chaotic at first, clarity will emerge in the coming weeks. The eclipse coincides with major planetary shifts. Saturn changes signs and joins most other planets in Pisces, a sign of endings. The eclipse occurs in Uttara Bhādrapada, a nakshatra in deep Pisces associated with spiritual progress—Uttara meaning “latter” and bhādrapada meaning “auspicious steps.” It points us toward truth, though the eclipse itself both conceals and reveals. With Neptune's influence, it may be difficult to discern truth or the right course of action. Eclipses are never ideal for major decisions, and Mercury and Venus are retrograde, adding to the uncertainty. Both will revisit the eclipse degree soon, delaying clarity further.Despite the confusion, grounding ourselves in what is eternal can help us navigate the unknown. This may be a disruptive time, but it is also a transformative one—urging us into new territory while keeping us centred. There are hopeful signs, too. This Lunar New Year is called Viśvāvasu, meaning “beneficial to all.” Still, the changes it calls for won't be easy. The key is to remain open, trusting that all is unfolding as it should. On a deeper level, we see that nothing truly happens—everything simply is.

The current Venus retrograde in Pisces acts as if debilitated, sending the stock market 'crashing'. What's up ahead seems even more interesting, as Mars joins the south node in sidereal Leo, respecting Saturn and Neptune in Pisces come June/July. Based on the historical correlations, a Mars-Ketu conjunction raises a red flag for market instability. While this alone doesn't guarantee a crash, it has historically coincided with major downturns: 1929, 1987, 1992, 2000, 2018, 2020, and 2021.Further ahead, Saturn meets with Uranus and Ketu in Taurus by 2030, when we may see even bigger economic challenges and changes. Once Jupiter returns to Capricorn, where Pluto awaits, in 2032, if the economy hasn't had a complete overhaul by then, it may have no choice but to change drastically at this point.Jupiter in Cancer by the end of 2025 is not as hopeful as it may appear. It only makes it to the first degree of the sign and then retrogrades back from its opposition to Pluto in Capricorn, which continues to dismantle the current 'world order'. Whatever is initiated in 2025, we're only getting a peak into what is possible.

A total lunar eclipse occurs on March 14, followed by a partial solar eclipse on March 29, coinciding with the New Moon and the New Lunar Year. With so much already happening, you might think a couple of eclipses won't make much difference. Wrong! Eclipses bring major shifts, though their effects aren't always immediate. Changes may be triggered before the eclipse, months later, or in ways we don't anticipate—adding to their ‘fated' feel.As a result, March is a chaotic month. While you may not feel the turbulence personally, the world is undergoing intense change. Keep an open mind, and delay major decisions—you'll likely face delays anyway, so you might as well embrace them.If you make a choice and later have to backtrack—especially with Mercury and Venus retrograde—don't be too hard on yourself. Eclipses create urgency, making us feel we must act to escape uncertainty. This solar eclipse falls in Uttara Phalguni, ruled by Aryaman, the deity of agreements and commitments. In retrograde, Venus can feel weakened, making it harder to maintain balance. We may find ourselves critiquing what we once accepted. On 12 March, the Sun aligns with Saturn, followed by a total lunar eclipse in Leo on 14 March. This marks a shift in leadership, paving the way for Ketu's entry into Leo by late May. As Ketu conjoins Mars this summer, expect bold leadership moves and heightened intensity.Between the eclipses, Mercury retrogrades near Venus, creating further disruptions. The mood may dip as we are forced to clarify or abandon impractical visions. The Sun meets Rahu on 18 March and Neptune on 20 March before closing the month with a partial solar eclipse on 29 March, setting the tone for the year ahead. This eclipse coincides with the Lunar New Year, Viśvāvasu, meaning “beneficial to all”—a hopeful sign despite the upheaval. In the background, Uranus enters Taurus on 18 March after nearly a decade in Aries, signalling major disruptions in the global economy and trade. Notably, President Trump launched new trade wars as Uranus stationed direct at Aries' final degree—Aries represents war, while Taurus governs what we trade. Many established structures may dissolve over the next three years before Saturn moves into Aries in 2027-2028.The world order is shifting dramatically. At its core, the empty circle symbol represents a truth beyond ordinary perception.Ruled by Varuna, the god of the sea, Śatabhiṣāj is linked to secrecy, the hidden realms, and cosmic enlightenment. In contrast to Leo, it is often called the "dark sun," emphasizing vision and awareness. It's a time for mental and physical purification, as Aquarius governs thought processes that may be unsettled. While Rahu rules every New Moon, this one strongly resonates with the "dark lord," intensifying its themes. With an eclipse season ahead—including a total lunar and solar eclipse—this period may carry heavy or dark undertones. The month begins with a Venus-Rahu-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, setting the stage for major shake-ups in March, when Mercury, Saturn, the Sun, and Moon join them for a once-in-a-lifetime alignment. Many things come to an end, leading to new ways of being in an ever-changing world. Yet, the Venus-Rahu-Neptune conjunctions may bring delusion or a more grounded perspective. It all depends on where you are situated (dasha). Despite a turbulent start to 2025, these transits symbolize hope for a brighter future as we move past initial challenges. Venus is exalted for the next four months. Though it's overshadowed by Rahu and diffuse because of Neptune, we can use the blurry outlines to dream up a new reality. However, it can lead to much confusion about right and true. And if you don't know what's true, you're unlikely to do what's right. No matter; it won't be long before Saturn joins them and tells us what is real. Jupiter is turning direct in early February, clarifying our aspirations and boosting optimism. Venus and Jupiter also exchange signs, a powerful combination of the two most benevolent planets in the heavens that bodes well for peace—at least in the short term. Though Mars remains retrograde in Gemini until February 24, influencing Pluto in Capricorn puts more pressure on leaders to reveal what they've been hiding. The release of hostages in Israel and Gaza is an obvious example of how these transits are playing out. By February 9, Mercury aligns with the Sun, offering sharper focus and opportunities to resolve earlier frustrations. Mid-February sees the Sun and Mercury enter Aquarius, bringing a wake-up call as they meet Saturn. A Sun-Saturn conjunction encourages us to reassess our goals but may also challenge us to stick with them, fueling doubt about our capabilities. Leaders around the world are likely feeling the pressure at this stage. As the month concludes, Mercury meets Saturn before entering Pisces. Fantasies may overshadow reality after an initial sense of realism, leading to unrealistic expectations and confusion. The Mercury-Venus-Rahu-Neptune alignment could further blur reality and overwhelm the mind. Thankfully, Mars turns direct in Gemini and offers relief, helping us reorganize our thoughts and prepare for the next stage and challenge. All planets are moving forward by the end of the month and until Venus begins its retrograde in Pisces by the beginning of March. Everything is moving forward in some way. We must clarify what is possible, whatever dreams may come.

Mercury and Pluto shape this New Moon and the month ahead, while Mars in Gemini watches with frustration at the slow progress. Though Mars appreciates Capricorn's no-nonsense attitude, Gemini's indecisiveness complicates matters. After January's initial optimism, reality sets in. Some goals may prove unattainable, but this shift encourages working with what's possible. It's a time to adapt and succeed through practicality—a "make-do" Moon offering plenty of resources. A second New Moon in December occurs in Sagittarius, guiding us from fear toward optimism. Earlier in the month, the Moon's transit through Scorpio, alongside retrograde Mars in Cancer, may highlight insecurities and intense emotions that require processing to move forward. By month's end, the Moon joins the Sun in Sagittarius, and Mercury progresses through Scorpio, easing our struggles and revealing a new path ahead. This New Moon aligns with Pūrvāṣāḍha, a lunar mansion symbolizing purification and invincibility. Ruled by Apas, the goddess of water, it reflects a need for renewal and reinvigoration. Pūrvāṣāḍha brings optimism, joy, and breakthroughs, symbolized by the elephant's tusk and its association with Ganesa, the remover of obstacles. While this New Moon carries hints of conflict—often tied to Pūrvāṣāḍha's meaning of “declarations of war”—it also signals vital developments that reveal the truth, a key theme of Sagittarius. The truth will prevail, and this is only the beginning.

The Full Moon in sidereal Taurus, its exaltation sign, conjunct Jupiter at the midpoint of its retrograde, brings an emotional high. Following the dark Moon in Scorpio, this Full Moon is positive overall, with Mercury stationing and instilling excitement. The Venus-Mars opposition, with Mars retrograde in Cancer, the Moon's sign, adds intensity. However, Taurus steadies the mind, offering stability amidst any emotional turbulence. Falling in Mṛgaśirṣā ("deer head"), this Moon reflects curiosity, creativity, and a gentle, vigilant nature. Ruled by Soma, the Moon god associated with healing and medicine, this is a favourable time for travel and renewal. Jupiter's and Mercury's retrogrades encourage us to plan ahead yet embrace delays and detours as potential sources of joy and growth. With Mars “out of bounds” and retrograde in the coming weeks, this Full Moon invites us to explore beyond our comfort zones. Steady yet adventurous, Taurus's influence supports us in wandering off course and discovering unexpected treasures along the way.

As Mercury retrogrades back into a square to Saturn in Aquarius, the Sun joins it halfway through its retrograde, bringing with it insights into hidden motivations. Jupiter is also halfway through its retrograde opposite in Taurus, bringing further insights and clarity. Yet mid-points are not end points and we shouldn't draw any conclusions. Everything seems to be lining up at year's end for a dramatic finale, but one that is an absolute cliffhanger. It may feel like a docuseries that doesn't seem to have an outcome. Venus and Mars oppose by December 12, after Venus has conjoined Pluto on December 7. There are many opposing factors and fractions at this stage. Everything may feel like on a knife edge. Mars is finding its strength in Cancer while retrograde, fuelling up again after being depleted. It's time for round two. We're more likely to see extremes as Mars retrogrades in Cancer, in all kinds of spheres, including in weather forecasts and fighting wars. Rahu's aspect from Pisces, which is itself conjunct Neptune, adds further extremes in water-related damage and confusion. Rahu and Neptune in Pisces are also adding another strange development, that of the U.S. government claiming UAPs are to be found in our oceans! Wait, you said what now?! Mercury's retrograde in Scorpio may not help getting to the truth of the matter right away. Its muddled way of expressing itself is ill-timed. By mid-month, Mercury has stationed direct, while the Sun moves out of a tense square to Saturn and into Sagittarius. We may have more of a sense of what to think about it at this point. The year ends with the Moon in Scorpio, conjoined Mercury, which remains in Scorpio until the New Year, and Mars continues to retrograde. Going back over the year 2024 may feel like weighing up the pros and cons, of which there are many.

This reflects the mixed nature of the Full Moon, on the cusp of two signs. Sun entering Scorpio with a second Full Moon in Aries emphasizes the need to pursue personal desires without harming others. Relationships are central during Aries/Libra New and Full Moons, requiring a balance between self-focus (Aries) and focus on others (Libra).  The Full Moon in Kṛttikā lacks support from Mars in Cancer, though the Moon and Mars exchange signs briefly, providing some help. Compromise is essential to benefit from this Full Moon. By avoiding selfish fights, we can find what we want, as others are more willing to help. This Full Moon in Kṛttikā is about letting go of what is no longer needed.

The month begins with a New Moon in Libra, coinciding with Diwali, the Festival of Lights. This is a dark time of the year, as the Sun is weak, the Moon is new (dark), and Mars is also weak and aspecting the New Moon. Angry reactions are likely one expression adding to the dark mood. This is exacerbated by Mars' opposition to Pluto, bringing with it power struggles, within and without. We're likely to see this play out in more obvious ways on the world stage in November, but let's not get too distracted from the inner clear-out that this could bring in our own lives. Despite these volatile transits, there is still hope (Jupiter) and trust in the process (Venus), as Venus in Scorpio supports Jupiter in Taurus. During this time, we may find comfort in simple pleasures, especially if our energy is low (the Sun and Mars are debilitated). Mid-month, Venus moves into Sagittarius after the Sun enters Scorpio, bringing a renewed sense of energy and optimism. The Sun's opposition to Jupiter in Taurus highlights Jupiter's mid-point in its retrograde journey. We, too, are likely to feel something turn a corner. However, just as things seem to be progressing into the end of the month, Mercury goes retrograde at the end of Scorpio. This shows a need to retrace our steps and assess what went wrong. With Mars also slowing down ahead of its retrograde in Cancer, we might feel uncertain about how to move forward or what steps to take next. Mars in Cancer alone is unsure how to act. We may not act at all or overcompensate by overdoing it. Adding Mercury's retrograde in Scorpio into the mix requires even more patience, as our everyday lives are impacted by setbacks and delays. Yet something is moving forward as Saturn stations direct in Aquarius by mid-month, that is, our long-term plans. Although it may feel as if this grinds to a halt, in a way, it also shows progress. It may not be the way we had envisioned but it's a way forward, nonetheless. The month ends again on a dark note, as the Moon joins the Sun in Scorpio for the New Moon phase. The New Moon is debilitated, just as it began the month, and the mood may be low, yet Jupiter's opposition from Taurus, with Venus exchanging with it in Sagittarius, brings hope for a better situation.

This New Moon, celebrated in India as Diwali, the 'festival of lights', arrives during a period of symbolic darkness: the Sun is in its weakest sign, and the Moon is dark and will enter Scorpio on November 3, with Mars and Pluto opposing each other. This New Moon acts as a turning point, offering a chance for self-reflection in the shadowy parts of our collective and individual psyches. In Libra, where the Sun is figuratively at its weakest, we are encouraged to seek our inner light and spiritual essence during times of personal darkness. Taking place in the lunar mansion Svātī, this New Moon highlights the need to distinguish ourselves from others and find inner balance. While Libra is known for compromise, it's here that we confront the tension between selflessness and our true core Self. Mars, also in debilitation, adds to this intensity, pushing us to react strongly to perceived threats. Remember, our essence remains whole and undiminished, regardless of external circumstances. Recognize any feelings of lack as an invitation to reconnect with your true power, which is not dependent on external validation but rooted within. This New Moon reminds us to return to what truly matters.

This New Moon in Virgo closes the "eclipse window" that began major changes in the Virgo-Pisces axis this year—changes that have been developing for many years. Ketu brings these issues to the surface once more. If you have planets in Virgo or Pisces, you may have already noticed changes, as Ketu activated the eclipse degree in July. In October, Mercury and Mars continue this activation. When Mars influences an eclipse, it often brings something into our awareness forcefully. With the Sun, representing leadership, eclipsed by Ketu, the signifier of loss, we may see a leader facing challenges or stepping down. New York's mayor is one example of how Ketu can highlight past mistakes, and we may see more instances like this. New Moons, especially during eclipses, are not ideal for starting new projects. They are better for introspection and resetting before making practical decisions. The alignment of the Sun, Moon, Earth, and Lunar Nodes uncovers hidden aspects of life, especially in the areas of your chart related to Virgo. The eclipse occurs in the Hasta lunar mansion, which symbolizes skill, practicality, and manifestation, as well as manipulation in both positive and negative ways. A Ketu eclipse tends to reveal the negative side. Hasta provides resources to achieve goals, but the eclipse suggests that some important details may be missing. Insights are possible, but take your time to process the information before acting.

The month begins with Mercury at its exaltation degree in Virgo, conjunct Ketu, during an annular solar eclipse. This is a time of purification, on many levels. This is followed by the nine nights of the goddess, or Navaratri, where worship of goddess Durgā can help us transform our darker impulses into light. As nature begins to slip into its slumber, we can go within to awaken. As the saying goes, “The only way out is in”, which is apt for a Ketu eclipse, a comet, and an asteroid, all due to come into view in October. We must look within for the significance of these sky events in our own lives, even when dramatic world events are likely to grab our attention.  Mercury's strength and the combined eclipse can bring a practical approach to any challenges. A Virgo eclipse changes something in our daily lives. Ketu can remove problems but also remove too much in the process, leaving feeling ungrounded. Venus in Libra for the first couple of weeks may make it easier to find balance in the process. Jupiter stations retrograde on Oct 9, holding in place before shifting our awareness inward, so we can tap into the next appropriate step. Whatever has been presented thus far, we must look within for guidance. Jupiter's retrograde in Taurus asks us to question whether sensual comforts are enough. Venus enters Scorpio by Oct 13, presenting further challenges to peace, especially as Mars is about to enter Cancer. Venus looks to Taurus and Jupiter placed therein, reflecting our desire for peace and harmony, but perhaps because of their apparent lack. By Oct 20, Mars enters its sign of debilitation in Cancer while the Sun moves into its debilitation in Libra. This creates a tense and frustrated configuration, with a weakened Mars influencing a weakened Sun. Leaders around the world are likely challenged and we may even see one step down for some reason. Mars opposes Pluto in Capricorn as it slows down in Cancer, signalling a crucial phase between these two planets over many months. This is likely to manifest as internal conflicts and more obvious power struggles on the world stage. Whatever happens in early October is likely a big theme we return to in 2025.Finally, if you were to get up before sunrise between Sep 27 and Oct 2, you may be able to view Comet A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) in the east (northern hemisphere) just before sunrise, and again in the west just after sunset between Oct 12 and Oct 30. The comet will be positioned below Regulus (Maghā), the brightest star in the constellation Leo. This is yet another indication of the downfall of a leader. The recent indictment of New York's mayor and Sean "Diddy" Combs' arrest are just two examples of Leonian figures. To top off some dramatic skies in October, a newly discovered asteroid is due for a fly-by from Sep 29 to Nov 25, although it may not be visible to the naked eye. Eclipses and comets were referred to as Ketus in ancient India. Ketu, the significator of loss, is the main story in October, it seems, where some losses are almost certainly par for the course, as things are dredged up from the past to be removed.

During this Full Moon and eclipse, Mercury opposes Saturn, and the Sun obscures the Moon, which is conjoined with Neptune and the north node, Raahu. This alignment suggests that our minds may be clouded, obscuring facts, yet it also offers opportunities for deeper insights that serve a greater purpose. A significant mental fog will likely descend during this Full Moon in Pisces. The eclipse occurs in Pūrva Bhādrapada—a time usually favourable for seeking truth—but eclipses can bring distortions. This emphasizes the need for purification, prompting a purging of untruths. We may see many untruths we'll need to sort through in the coming weeks. Pūrva means 'former', and bhādrapada means 'auspicious steps'. This lunar mansion is ruled by a fierce form of Śiva, symbolized by a lightning bolt representing visionary insight. Its symbols—a man with two faces, a sword, and the front legs of a funeral cot—signify cutting away, themes of life and death, and distinguishing between reality and falsehood. It's best to use this day for quiet contemplation and seeking deeper spiritual truths rather than fact-finding. The ruler of this eclipse, Jupiter, is slowing down before it retrogrades on October 9, after a solar eclipse on October 2 that encourages us to look within to bring clarity to the surface and remove all that is no longer useful.

Venus, Mercury, and Mars trigger the eclipses into October also. Eclipses are not always the most auspicious times and are unsuitable for starting new ventures. This month presents challenges related to Mercury and Venus, such as business, finances, and diplomatic relations. Although Mercury is moving direct, it's traversing the Cancer-Leo cusp again, which complicates matters, especially as it does so on the same day Venus aligns with Ketu in Virgo. This occurs on Sep 4, around which we are likely to see some significant fallout. The trines between Jupiter in Taurus, Venus in Virgo, and Pluto in Capricorn suggest a need for significant changes, particularly in business, banking, food distribution, and healthcare systems. This may be due to outages, storms, health scares, or all the above. Meanwhile, Saturn's ongoing transit through Aquarius highlights the importance of addressing humanitarian crises on an ongoing basis. Venus will move out of debilitation and away from a square aspect with Mars in Gemini by Sep 18, before which the mood is likely to drop significantly. There may be many more Venus-related issues to address all month, including women-related challenges, health issues, and a general sense of discord. Mercury will enter Virgo, its exalted sign, by Sep 23. If there is to be a financial or health issue, it may be dealt with more appropriately at this stage. We cannot ignore the role of the Jupiter-Saturn square which trends towards tightening measures. By the time Mercury makes it to Virgo by the end of the month, we should see better communications develop. Although Mercury faces challenges from Mars' argumentative stance in Gemini, we can handle the issues more rationally. We have the first of two eclipses on Sep 18, beginning with a partial lunar eclipse at the first degree of sidereal Pisces, just as Venus moves into Libra. When lunar eclipses come before a solar eclipse, something more immediate is brought to our attention that needs resolving, before we can start again after the revelations have stirred things up. Things won't settle down until after the annular solar eclipse on Oct 2 in Virgo conjunct Ketu. This is likely to bring something to an end. We may see Sun-type things, such as leaders, end their reigns, for example. We may lose confidence in leadership, perhaps around an economic or health issue, before the Sun then makes its way towards its sign of debilitation by mid-October and confidence is at a low point in the year. As September concludes, the Sun meets Ketu in the middle of Virgo by exact degree, with Mercury moving towards its exaltation, but also towards Ketu. Despite the potential losses, we are more likely to be able to address the issues and cut them out.

Mercury slows to start its retrograde in the first week of August, opposite Saturn, which is already retrograde in Aquarius. With Mars forming a square to Mercury, we will likely feel tension from these turnarounds. We may be turning a corner but not the one we expected. It may feel like we're moving backwards through something we'd rather leave behind. As Venus moves through Leo opposite Saturn, we might not feel good about what we must do, or because we're prevented from doing what we want. Mars amplifies its influence on Venus in Leo, making us feel more passionate about what we do. With Saturn's strong presence and aspect to planets lining up in opposition, we must consider the consequences of any of our actions. The Sun's entry into Leo by mid-month boosts our confidence despite Saturn. Yet such confidence is hard won, earned through a lot of hard work and initial self-doubt. We must adapt to the changing landscape and keep moving forward despite the retrogrades and oppositions. Venus then slips uncomfortably into Virgo, where we're likely to find ourselves complaining, possibly about what others are doing - or perhaps about what they're not doing we think they should. Mercury's backtracking into Cancer complicates Venus' transit through Virgo, especially as Venus is conjoined Ketu. Before the fall, there's one last blowout in August as Venus transits Leo. This is likely enjoyable but frustrating, especially around travel plans and everyday life. The mood is likely to then drop by the end of the month as Venus enters Virgo.   August is far from business as usual (Mercury retrograde and Venus debilitated) and may lead to economic challenges, especially as Venus and Ketu align. I hesitate to predict financial catastrophe, as Saturn's strength in Aquarius may keep things stable enough. Yet we might still see significant challenges ahead. Certainly, the mood begins to drop in line with the fall of Venus.   Have a time-out with Mercury retrograde in August if you can, and enjoy Venus in Leo as it reappears in our evening skies and puts on an entertaining show.
