As we wax toward the Sagittarius Full Moon on June 11, we first experience the Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in Gemini June 8 which, as its been waxing has broadcast some interesting news about a major break up. Seems the public spat between President Donald Trump & billionaire Elon Musk made its way onto social media & we've been privy to the exaggerated claims & taunts of both men.The pending breakup of this bromance had long been forecast by astrologers, especially since transiting Uranus once again conjoined “off with his head” fixed star Algol circa May 4. This energy began when Mars & Uranus conjoined close to Algol July 15, 2024, & on July 13 an assassin tried to shoot Trump at his political rally in Butler, PA, on July 13. When we combine this Mercury/Jupiter in Gemini spat with the energies of the waxing first quarter “crisis in action” Mars/Uranus square (which perfects on June 15), we see their influence on this sudden, acrimonious, loudly conducted & widely publicized bromance breakup.This podcast explores how both Trump & Musk have Sun/Uranus aspects in their chart, yet neither of them seem to consciously notice their own erratic tendencies. Plus, how Musk's Cancer Sun/Libra Uranus cardinal square makes him futuristically progress-oriented, while Trump's SU/UR conjunction in Gemini seems to be about destroying conventional norms but then adapting by taking us back in time.Their recent public social media argument (it is Gemini season, after all, & this archetypal energy joined with Jupiter in Gemini likes to loudly exaggerate) has become the breakup fight heard ‘round the world. During their back & forth, Musk called for Trump's impeachment, Trump threatened to withhold billions of dollars of Musk's current government contracts, & Musk retaliated by saying his SpaceX company's Dragon Spacecraft would no longer resupply the international space station or ferry astronauts there & back. Their whole argument began when Musk suddenly objected to Trump's “big beautiful bill's” inclusion of the elimination of electric vehicle tax credits which are valuable to Musk's company, Tesla. The bill now sits in the Senate, which has not yet sent its version back to the House. Meanwhile, Trump would lose out on Musk's financial support for Republicans in future election battles, never mind that Musk funded Trump's presidential campaign to the tune of $230 million in 2024. Before long, however, Musk backed down from his last threat & is seeking “a conversation” with Trump, which makes us wonder how long it will be before both money-obsessed characters (& yes, you can be a billionaire & still be obsessed about money, lol) might kiss & make up. And whether or not breaking up is actually hard to do, lol...Thus far, Trump has refused, so whether Trump's natal wounds around partnership, plus his current transits--such as the fact that Uranus in his 10th is now squaring his Leo Ascendant/Aquarius Descendant, denoting sudden changes in partnership—will last, who knows? We also see he's approaching a Mars return as transiting Mars approaches a conjunction to his natal Mars in Leo on his Ascendant—the latter a recipe for having a chip on his shoulder--& has a few other interesting transits & progressions, so tune in to find out more!Meanwhile, Venus is now in Taurus since June 5/6 as Mercury & Jupiter both enter Moon-ruled Cancer on June 8 & 9, respectively, & we wax toward the June 11 Sagittarius Full Moon which forms a mutable square to the transiting nodal axis. Hard on the heels of the recent transit of Jupiter square to the Virgo South Node & Pisces North Node, there will likely be much legal news as a result, especially out of the Supreme Court now that it's term has ended & we know decisions are forthcoming. A couple of things seem certain, too, the first being that our emotional sensitivity—especially around our financial stability or lack thereof (Venus in Taurus)—will be heightened now. Along with this, however, we may begin to expand our intuitive capabilities (Jupiter in Cancer) to see beyond the boundaries of our local scenario into wider, longer-term implications for the future. (Perhaps Musk's 5'53” Cancer Sun will benefit from the pending conjunction by Jupiter between now & July 5, & reunited with Trump—hey, you never know, if not, they both have a lot to lose…) Meanwhile, by the time we reach this week's Sagittarius Full Moon which occurs at 20'39” of Sagittarius at 12:44 am PT & 3:44 a.m. ET on June 11, we may experience the height of changed perspectives because we now know that we may have been tricked into believing things we were told were in our best interest are actually far from that. As always, this full Moon reflects the light of the Sun back onto itself, revealing its shadow side. So, this particular lunation—in the U.S., at least--has the Sagittarius Moon highlighting the trickster nature of the Gemini's Sun's attempts to bamboozle us through his sleight of hand “if we take from the poor to give to the rich, it's to benefit YOU.” Hence, we are asked at this Sagittarius Full Moon to release our old perceptions—based on the Geminian tendency to collect & pass misinformation, disinformation, propaganda, & conspiracy theories without analyzing any of it. This may prove hard to do, however, since Venus forms a fixed square to Pluto & Mercury squares Neptune still at this lunation—both recipes for financial coercion & obfuscation about, or distortion of, facts. This becomes relevant, in the U.S. at least, to continued attempts by the U.S. Congress to come up with an acceptable budget reconciliation bill which it's trying to do by July 4 to avoid having the U.S. fall off a fiscal cliff. All of this as we approach the exact Leo Mars/Taurus Uranus opening square in its synodic cycle, and the same when Jupiter in Cancer forms an exact first quarter cardinal square to Saturn in Aries, all on June 15. The Sun in Gemini and Moon in Virgo are both ruled by the trickster planet Mercury. You're being called to be flexible, to shift your focus, and use discernment.Venus in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini: A spark of creative joy is available to you when you pay attention.Venus moves into Taurus: on Thursday, June 5 at 9:42pm PT. In episode 115 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield explore the long-running mysterious relationship between actor/writers Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak. Rumors have swirled for years about these two who officially dated in the early 2000's but have remained incredibly close and are often seen together at major Hollywood events. First, we look at B.J.'s chart and see a prominent, boundary-pushing Aries rising. With his chart ruler, Mars in Gemini, placed in his third house, it's obvious that his pursuit of writing and comedy is central to his life's motivation. We also find a Mercury/Sun conjunction in his fifth house, telling us his books, and especially his children's book, will be part of his legacy. There is also a deeply private and distrusting Scorpio Moon in his chart, so we can understand why he isn't a huge fan of the spotlight despite his heavy Leo placements. Next, we look into Mindy's chart and see a bright and inquisitive Gemini Rising, making her perfect for identifying as a comedic writer. With Venus sitting on that ascendant, her experiences with femininity and womanhood also play a central role in her storytelling. We also see a challenging opposition to that Venus from Neptune, which creates a love life that can be confusing, and lacking strong boundaries. It also creates a sense of hopeless romanticism. Together, their synastry reveals aspects that align for a loving relationship. They have trine water Moons (little did they know they grew up only 10 minutes from each other!), giving them a shared sense of support, ease, and comfortability especially when it comes to sharing emotional experiences. A Mercury/Jupiter connection in theatrical Leo demonstrates their shared love of intellectual exploration, but a Venus/Saturn square denotes some sort of withholding. The big question though is will a strong Venus/Neptune opposition ever provide enough clarity to define this relationship for them? Mercury, the god of communication had a lot to say about these subjects when he met up with Pluto, god of the underworld who represents death & rebirth, power, sex, & finances in the form of joint resources & other peoples' money.This podcast discusses the astrology behind recent announcements between February 5-8 that carry such themes. For example, word of King Charles III's cancer diagnosis, Donald Trump's appeals court loss of his ability to claim immunity in his federal criminal case--a major milestone in protecting the U.S. democratic legal system from extinction--& U.S. House of Representative's speaker Mike Johnson's miscalculation that group votes would go his way.These are just a few examples of repercussions of the February 5 Mercury/Pluto conjunction--another one being the announcement that at least 32 of the 136 hostages still held by Hamas (or their proxies) in Gaza since October 7 are now dead. Understanding this with greater clarity might help change some voters' minds as primary season gets seriously underway soon…It's the Aquarius New Moon square Uranus in Taurus that may bring us such revelations (shocking or otherwise) since it follows the Sun/Uranus square from Feb 8 & is followed by a Mercury/Jupiter square February 10, indicating that overlooked details such as this resolution's import may provide the death knell to democracy as we know it.That sloppy thinking may reveal important details is evident in Mike Johnson's declaration that, though he lost the House vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas AND on the bipartisan immigration bill that included aid for Ukraine, Israel, & humanitarian assistance for certain regions, including Gaza, he's promised to try again on the former.Meanwhile, we're headed to a new synodic cycle between Mars & Pluto in Aquarius after Mars enters Aquarius February 12/13 & conjoins Pluto on the 13/14. Mercury's Sabian symbol is 16 Virgo, An Orangutan, and Jupiter is on 16 Taurus, An old man tries in vain to share the mysteries. [6:50] This is the second of three trines forming between Mercury and Jupiter, beginning with the first on August 9, and the last coming on Sep. 25. Bring your honest, unadorned self to everything that you have to say, write and communicate. [7:47] A few hours later (7:10 AM PDT), Jupiter stations retrograde at 15º34' Taurus. It's retrograde through Dec. 30, when it turns direct at 05º34' Taurus. This is the degree of the lunar eclipse on October 28, 2023 as well. Today's Moon is in relaxed, indulgent Taurus, one of her favorite signs. [10:51] The Moon trines the Sun (4:12 AM PDT), squares Venus (5:08 AM PDT), and then aspects today's Mercury-Jupiter configuration: trine Mercury (10:35 AM PDT) and conjoined Jupiter (11:05 AM PDT). [11:46] When the Moon is in hard aspect with the planet that rules its sign, such as today's Taurus Moon square Venus in Leo, it gives a little bit of a mixed message. Complications could interrupt the day's flow of events. This week, as the world acknowledges the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the Gemini Last Quarter Moon squares the Sun on a symbol of collective mourning. With Venus square Mars in Mercury-ruled signs, relationships benefit from clear but kind communications. Retrograde Mercury makes the second of three oppositions to Jupiter, whose grand schemes require that we fill the gaps in our knowledge. As the Sun in Virgo trines Pluto, excellence and merit might finally be rewarded. And April answers a listener's question about the effect of another person's planets on your birth chart. The Virgo Sun's trine aspect to Uranus in Taurus may still be felt by some. [2:16] On September 16th at 11:40 am PDT, Venus (Virgo 14°23') makes a square to Mars (Gemini 14°23'). Venus is on Sabian symbol 15 Virgo, "An Ornamental Handkerchief." Extremely talkative Mars in Gemini is on Sabian symbol 15 Gemini, "Two Dutch Children Talking." Both Venus and Mars are currently ruled by Mercury which has just gone retrograde. Try to find the common language but do not be unkind in our communications. [5:38] At 3:21 pm PDT, the Sun (24°01' Virgo) makes its annual opposition to Neptune (24°01' Pisces). The Sun is on the Sabian symbol, 25 Virgo, "A Flag at Half Mast." The Sabian symbol for Neptune is 25 Pisces, "The Purging of The Priesthood." This opposition forms a T-Square with the Gemini Last Quarter Moon the next day. [7:48] Moon Report! It begins with a waning Gemini Last Quarter Moon on September 17 at 2:52 pm PDT, at 24°59' Gemini. This Moon's Sabian symbol, 25 Gemini, "A Man Trimming Palms," suggests curation of our stories and splitting the difference between unvarnished truth and flat-out fictions. [9:04] This is the final critical lunation in the Lunar Phase Family that began with the Solar Eclipse on June 21, 2020 at 0°21' Cancer. Important dates for this Lunar Phase Family cycle: First Quarter on March 21, 2021; Full Moon on December 18, 2021. What do you have in your chart between 25° Gemini and 0° Cancer? Check out April's conversation with Celeste Brooks on Lunar Phase Families in Episode 141! [10:24] Void-of-Course Moon periods. On September 12th, the Aries Moon will square Pluto in Capricorn at 9:53 pm PDT. It will be Void-of-Course for about six and a half hours before it enters Taurus on September 13th at 4:39 am PDT. Most of us will be sleeping but it could be a good time to think about how you want to change the way you react emotionally to things like frustration or anger. [12:31] The Moon in Taurus makes a trine to Pluto (Capricorn) at 5:59 am PDT on September 15th. It will be Void-of-Course for about seven hours before entering Gemini at 1:16 pm PDT. The Moon is exalted in Taurus. Excellent time to initiate a new exercise routine, a change in diet and/or a change to a procrastination habit. [13:25] Finally, on September 17th, the Moon in Gemini makes a square to the Virgo Sun at 2:52 pm PDT. It enters a Void-of-Course period for about nine hours before entering Cancer on September 18th at 12:59 am PDT. [14:32] Mercury retrograde (Libra 4°44') will oppose Jupiter (Aries 4°44') on September 18, 2022 at 3:34 pm PDT. This is the second of three oppositions. The first was on September 2, 2022 (Mercury direct at Libra 6°39' - April covers this in Episode 138). The last in this series of Mercury / Jupiter oppositions will be on October 12, 2022 (Mercury direct at Libra 1°40'). [15:45] This second Mercury/Jupiter opposition falls on two Sabian symbols that relate to learning. Mecury is on 5 Libra, "A Man Teaching the True Inner Knowledge," while Jupiter is on 5 Aries, "A Triangle with Wings." Backtrack to fill in gaps in information or knowledge. [16:48] On September 18th at 8:58 pm PDT, the Sun (Virgo 26°12') makes a trine to Pluto (Capricorn 26°12'). The Sabian symbol for the Sun is 27 Virgo, "Grand Dames at Tea." The Sabian symbol for Pluto is 27 Capricorn, "A Mountain Pilgrimage." Excellence can be rewarded at this aspect, but also, nothing succeeds like success.
