Wise beings know how to use the natural cycles of the earth and universe to support us to grow our work, wealth and relationships, and to support our overall wellbeing, and keep us focused on what matters. Which is why at the quarter point shifts of the year - Solstices and Equinoxes - our personal leadership best practice (and one we can do with our teams and partners) is taking what I call a Power Pause. Equinoxes specifically are all about illuminating imbalances, shifting habits to restore wellbeing, and re-focusing your priorities and intentions for the next quarter. In this episode we focus on the last quarter - between now and the end of the Roman calendar year (about 9 weeks) or between now and end of January, the start of the new lunar calendar year (about 12 weeks). Tune into this Power Pause and take a step back to get some perspective on the main parts of your whole life - your work in the world, your wellbeing foundation, your relationships and your personal growth / presence.   I will lead us through a creative inquiry process including somatic visualization to tune into and get clear on: Where you truly desire to focus your energy, time and resources this last part of the year - so you start the new year in a good space + create momentum for next year What two focus points - in your work in the world + your wellbeing foundation - matter most this last part of the year What two relationships - with an individual and with a group/team/family/system are imbalanced and need a reset.   See you there!  Christine  P.S. The Vernal Equinox is March 19th this year. This is one of those dates like the Autumnal Equinox and the Solstices whose date moves around a little bit each year. However, it is now that day where we experience equal amounts of Light & Dark Energy. Things are in perfect balance only twice a year […] The post Vernal Equinox appeared first on WebTalkRadio.net.

Let me share how i've been toggling with this understanding for 3 years, and this is the first year I'm not celebrating NYE or NY day. I thank my mentors and sisters who help me wash my eyes of these normalities, and my process of re-learning how to live sustainably with the world around me.  A large part of process is finding connection in nature, and using the Solstices and Equinoxes as celebratory points in my year, considering they are the alignment points of the seasons. For myself, it's been an internal battle of questioning WHY our “reality” (in this case what I perceive as mainstream media, marketing, the current government, etc) would condone the behavior or every “holiday” revolving around alcohol, making money off advertisements, and consuming a year's worth of sugar…. (no coincidences here kitty kats) The above three issues are unsustainable and only support escapism behavior from how one could instead honor the dark, cold, and slow Winter months in order to feel genuinely renewed come Spring! Maybe you feel out of alignment with creating a giant pledge to yourself to achieve “xyz” for the entire year, or as if you're not ready to “birth” anything new into this world.  If that resonates, you're not alone.  Medium Article by Yeshe Matthews Want free wellness tips every week? This is a different kind of episode, introducing you to Aisha von Nahmmacher, who works with me on rooted healing and we, last minute as ever, decided to record a bonus episode of sorts in honour of the solstice and to mark our full cycle of work together.Aisha is a documentary producer currently delving into hidden ancestral practices in Britain and Ireland.  She's also a yoga teacher who fuses the mycelial realm regularly into her work, and she was the curator of our gathering Forestlings, which was a joyous, playful exploration of autumns' delightful wisdom. So it goes without saying that Aisha is an avid plant + fungi medicine advocate who is also burrowing away to help Rooted Healing grow more roots.  You may be hearing more from her as this new cycle of the podcast unfurls…We went on a meandering escapade through the landscapes of solstices, ancestral stones, ceremony and psilocybin.  We spoke of going into the darkness at this potent time and so at the end of this episode we've woven in a beautiful song called Let the Light In by Bonnie Medicine from her new album Wide Open.  Head to rootedhealing.org to explore our gatherings and upcoming online course ‘Deepen Your Roots'.  The course begins on Imbolc so it could be a potent time to enrol now amidst the solstice, planting those intentions.Thank you Mike Howe and Chris Park for your music ongoing music contributions.Support the show

We're currently in the midst of the Solstice energies, but they will reach their pinnacle on December 21st at 7:27 PM PST.  Although this season is often flooded with holiday festivities, gift shopping, and parties, it's also one of the most treasured times to come together. And it's an excellent time to turn inward, embrace stillness, and enjoy the inner light's plentiful radiance.  Exceptionally strong waves of crystalline light Divine Rays of Love are cascading down, offering support as you transition into the next stage of embodiment. You're being divinely guided to take a remarkable leap in expanding your consciousness. Leverage this opportunity to bring your being into alignment with the utmost and highest possibilities of the incoming year of 2024.  Join me for this LIVE Solstice Reiki Energy Healing Experience on 12/21/23 at 7:15 pm pst on YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/k4nAxOsu_DE?feature=share If you aren't able to join, we recommend doing a ritual of energy healing meditation and mindful journaling. Here is a list of questions to use as self-reflection prompts:  1. What are you ready to let go of? What do you feel you are complete with? 2. What did you learn from your experiences in 2023? What did you learn from these aspects that you feel you are complete with? What wisdom did they unearth? What insights/realizations/awareness did they reveal? What were the key lessons learned? Have you completed any lessons? Are you still in any lessons that you will be continuing in the new year? 3.  This year, I have learned______? 4. What gratitude do you have for 2023? I am grateful for _________? What experiences are you grateful for? 5. What have you been inspired by? I am inspired by _______? What inspires you?  6. How did/do you bring play into your life _______? 7. What creativity did you cultivate in 2023?  8.  What successes or accomplishments do you want to celebrate from 2023? 9. Solstices can be times of healing as they support the shift point where you release, forgive and reset something that has perhaps kept you hostage. Is there anything that is being called for forgiveness? Bring in compassion and loving kindness as you work with forgiveness for self and others. Any areas you felt blocked and felt like a hostage to? (these areas you want to ask for a clearing of non-beneficial patterns, programs, and clearing nonbeneficial energies, vibrations, frequencies, etc.) 10. The tools that really supported me this year were ______? What are the best practices & tools present in those achievements that stand out? 11. Which practices & tools do you want to replicate going forward? 12. What are some creative ways you might have surmounted the obstacles you encountered? 13. As I move into the New Year, I want to leave behind ______? 14. What might you do differently going forward? 15. What are your intentions?  16. Which of the goals in progress are top priority? 17. What and when are your next tangible inspiring action steps to keep them moving forward? 18. What are some areas of development you'd like support on in order to better position you to reach your 2024 (and beyond) goals? 19. In the New Year, from a space of inspiration and joy, I would like to commit to _______?  As we usher in this solstice, we embrace a period stretching until the next solstice, a time devoted to reassessing, reprioritizing, revaluing, reorganizing, reconsidering, repatterning, and renewing your dedication to living a life of thriving. Moreover, it's a time of reaffirmation to live a life guided by our genuine inner Light truths. Tune into the wisdom, the gut instinct, and the veracity residing within your heart. Let your heart's truth steer you in refining your intentions for the upcoming cycle. Next year is a big one. Given the importance of the coming year, it's crucial that you are as equipped as possible. Wishing you joy during the Solstice, and abundant blessings throughout the Holiday Season and into the New Year! H

"When will I find a better job?"These questions can be answered through understanding the signs and symbols of Astrology This course improves intuition, as students understand the archetypes and energetics of astrology. Ever wondered how the winter solstice and other solar festivals can spark a personal transformation within you? On this captivating journey of Cosmic Scene with Jill Jardine, we delve into the powerful pagan rituals that mark these celestial events. We'll reveal the potent symbolism of the four cross quarter days, especially Imbolc and Beltane, and their association with goddess Brigid and fertility. As we approach the Winter Solstice, I'll guide you through the Great Invocation - an ancient prayer that summons spiritual light to our planet during this mystical time. The word Solstice comes from the Latin words “Sol stetit” which mean literally: “the Sun stood still.” Did you know that the equinoxes and solstices happen at the same moment around the world? Even though we all have different time zones, this is an astronomical event, based on our planet's orbit around the Sun and tilt on its axis. The custom of lighting bonfires at the Solstice was not exclusive to Europe, it also occurred in other locations around the world including North Africa and the Americas.  The sanctioned and coordinated release of procreative energy served two important functions:  1) I strengthened the bonds within the community and 2) served to stimulate and revitalize the land. The Solstices were celebrated by our ancestors for many reasons, notably as a license for sexual proclivities encouraged at this time to bless the fertility and abundance of the earth.  The solstices were a time of honoring the forces or order and light, the divine feminine and masculine, paying tribute to Mother Earth and Father Sun.  Solstices were times to celebrate the polarities of bringing people of the planet in sync with the cycles of nature. The Solstice and equinoxes (solar festivals), as well as the full moon (lunar festivals) were celebrated for bringing orderly rhythms to Earth, allowing her people an opportunity to harmonize these rhythms through ritual, dance and festivity. The Winter Solstice has always been a time to pray for the return of order and light, while the Summer Solstice is a time to celebrate and give thanks for abundance.  The Ancients knew that human beings exist in much larger ecological and cosmic systems and must abide by the rules of those systems if we are to survive.  The Solstices are ideal times to acknowledge and celebrate our responsibilities to these greater realms of Being.  We still have remnants from the European Winter Solstice with our updated version of the ancient visitation of the Solstice Shaman who we've renamed “Santa Claus.” In this episode we explore how these solar celebrations serve as catalysts for personal renewal. As we chant the Great Invocation, we'll collectively call forth divine love and light to guide us and restore Earth's balance. With your active participation, we can bring more light into our lives and the planet. Always remember, at Cosmic Scene with Jill Jardine, we're all about spreading positive energy across the quantum field.Support the show

TRANSCRIPT OF AUDIO From the Cumberland Gap to the Atlantic Ocean, this is Virginia Water Radio for the weeks of November 27 and December 4, 2023. MUSIC – 8 sec – Instrumental. That's part of “Backburner,” by The Faux Paws.  It opens Virginia Water Radio's annual episode on winter-weather preparedness.  Have a listen for about 30 seconds to some of the song's lyrics to set the stage for talking about cold times. MUSIC – ~32 sec – Lyrics: “I put my heart in the freezer, I put my love on ice,  I tell myself I don't need her, wouldn't that be nice?  I put my heart in the freezer, I put my love on hold, I tell myself I don't need her, and then I wonder why I feel so cold.  I wonder why I feel, I wonder why I feel, I wonder why I feel so cold.” All Virginia residents, whether or not they've tried to put their heart in the freezer, will soon have no wonder about why they feel so cold: winter astronomically begins in Virginia on December 21 at 10:27 p.m.  That's the Eastern Standard time of the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, when that hemisphere is at its maximum tilt away from the sun.  From well before the December solstice, all the way through the season's conclusion in March, winter can bring cold temperatures, hazardous roads, power outages, fire hazards, and other concerns.  To help you be prepared, here are 10 tips compiled from information provided by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 1. Avoid traveling in winter-storm conditions if you can.  If you must travel, get road-condition information from the Virginia 511 telephone system, mobile app, or Web site, and carry in your vehicle an emergency kit, including jumper cables, blankets, a flashlight, food and water, and other items. 2. Have battery-powered sources of lighting and information, along with enough batteries to last through a power outage of several days. 3.  Develop and practice a family emergency plan that covers sheltering; escape from a home fire; emergency meeting places; communications; a supply of food, water, and medications; and other factors specific to your circumstances. 4.  Get fireplaces, wood stoves, and chimneys inspected and cleaned. 5.  Install a smoke detector in every bedroom and on every floor level; test them monthly and replace the batteries at least annually.  6.  Install a carbon monoxide detector in your home and check or replace the battery every six months. 7.  If you use electric space heaters, make sure they'll switch off automatically if the heater falls over; plug them into wall outlets, not extension cords; keep them at least three feet from combustible objects; don't leave heaters unattended; and check for cracked or damaged wires or plugs. 8.  Generators, camp stoves, and other devices that burn gasoline, charcoal, or other fuels should be used outdoors only. 9.  Learn where to shut off water valves in case a pipe bursts. And 10.  Be careful of overexertion during snow shoveling. More information on preparing for winter weather, fires, and other emergencies is available online from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, at vaemergency.gov. Next time the forecast calls for snow, freezing rain, or other wintry weather, here's hoping that you can stay warm, dry, and safe. Thanks to Andrew VanNorstrand for permission to use this episode's music, and we close with about 20 more seconds of “Backburner.” MUSIC - ~20 sec – Instrumental. EXTRA INFORMATION ABOUT WINTER WEATHER PREPAREDNESS The following information is quoted from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, “Winter Weather,” online at https://www.vaemergency.gov/threats/winter-weather, as of 11-6-23. “Winter storms can range from freezing rain or ice to a few hours of moderate snowfall, to a blizzard that lasts for several days.  Many winter storms are accompanied by dangerously low temperatures, power outages, and unpredictable road conditions. Before, during, and after a winter storm, roads and walkways may become extremely dangerous or impassable.  Access to critical community services such as public transportation, child care, healthcare providers and schools may be limited.  Preparing your home, car, and family before cold weather and a winter storm arrives is critical. *During a winter storm, stay off the roads as much as possible and only drive when absolutely necessary.  Always give snow plows the right of way.*Never use a generator, grill, camp stove or gasoline, propane, natural gas, or charcoal-burning device inside your home, garage, basement, crawlspace, or any other partially enclosed area.*Snow shoveling is a known trigger for heart attacks!  Always avoid overexertion when shoveling.*When severe weather occurs, plan to check on elderly or disabled neighbors and relatives.*If you must travel, know the road conditions before you leave home.  Visit 511Virginia.org or call 511 for road condition updates.*Protect yourself from frostbite!  Hands, feet, and face are the most commonly affected areas so wear a hat, and mittens (which are warmer than gloves) and cover your mouth with a scarf to reduce heat loss.*Keep dry!  Change out of wet clothing frequently to prevent a loss of body heat.*Wear several layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing rather than one layer or heavy clothing. Winter Storm Watch – Be Aware Severe weather such as heavy snow or ice is possible in the next day or two. Winter Storm Warning – Take Action Severe winter conditions have either begun or will begin soon in your area. Prepare Your Home *Make sure your home is properly insulated.*Check the weather stripping around your windows and doors.*Learn how to shut off water valves in case a pipe bursts.*Have additional heat sources  on hand in case of a power outage.*Keep a fire extinguisher accessible.*Replace the batteries in your carbon monoxide detector annually. Prepare Your Car *Batteries lose power as temperatures drop, be sure to have yours tested.*Check your car's antifreeze level.*Have your radiator system serviced.*Replace your car's windshield wiper fluid with a wintertime mix.*Proactively replace your car's worn tires and wiper blades.*To help with visibility, clean off your car entirely – including your trunk, roof, windows, and headlights. Include a Car Emergency Kit Tailor your winter car emergency supply kit to you and your family's needs.  Here are suggested items: blankets;drinking water and snacks for everyone in the car, including pets;boots;basic first-aid kit;warm coat and insulating layers (sweatpants, gloves, hat, socks,);rags, paper towels, or pre-moistened wipes;basic set of tools;car emergency warning devices such as road flares or reflectors;ice scraper/snow brush;jumper cables/jump pack;fire extinguisher;cash;items for children such as diapers, baby wipes, toys, etc.;flashlight, with extra batteries;hand warmers;paper map;portable smartphone power bank;extra medication;garbage bags;traction aid such as sand, salt, or non-clumping, cat litter;tarp, raincoat, and gloves;shovel. Did You Know? *Dehydration can make you more susceptible to hypothermia.*If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for your pet!  Don't leave pets outside for prolonged periods of time and have plenty of fresh, unfrozen water on hand.*It can snow at temperatures well above freezing.*Temperatures do not have to be below zero degrees to cause harm.” SOURCES USED FOR AUDIO AND OFFERING MORE INFORMATION Timeanddate.com, “December Solstice: Longest and Shortest Day of the Year,” by Konstantin Bikos, Aparna Kher, and Graham Jones, online at https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/december-solstice.html. On November 7 at 9:36 AM-PDT, the Sun hits exactly 15 degrees of Scorpio. That might not sound exactly earth-shaking, but if you were a Druid, it would be a really big deal. Actually, you might still be in bed recovering from the previous evening's festivities – more about that point in a little while. Most traditional cultures were very aware of the Summer and Winter Solstices. The noon-day Sun would have reached its highest or lowest point in the sky. The days would start getting longer or shorter. All that is fairly obvious even to a casual observer, so our ancestors figured it out long ago in prehistory. I suspect that knowledge of the Equinoxes came a little bit later – again, no one knows the date because it all happened such a long time ago, but noticing that night and day were of equal length and that the Sun now rose or set due east or due west seems slightly less self-evident than the “return of the light.”  Anyway, those four points – the two Solstices and the two Equinoxes – became the skeleton of the yearly calendar in every culture, not to mention the basis of the western Zodiac. They divided the year into four quarters – what we came to call the four seasons. Pretty much universally around the world, those four transition points were marked by festivals. Whether that was to please the gods and goddesses, or just because people like parties, is hard to say.  Listen in ...

Equinoxes are all about illuminating imbalances, shifting habits to restore wellbeing, and re-focusing your priorities and intentions for the next quarter. The theme of Sept Equinox is always Harvest. This year, I added the themes of HONOR +  RECEIVE + CREATE THE NEXT WHILE LIVING THE NOW - because I feel like these are the energies and equations that will most support us in this cycle. Tune into this Power Pause and learn some about: Learn the wisdom behind taking power pauses 4 times a year  Making the invisible and the internal visible  - so we can feel it and value it  Honoring the process vs the product  I will lead us through a 3 inquiry process, including visualization and meditation so you can really FEEL and register in your body, brain and being:  How the energy and effort and focus you have given is returning harvest to you (but you have to pause to receive the harvest)  That you have been stretched & chosen to stretch - so you can harvest the strength & keep the wisdom gained.  You are supported & sustained in so many ways - but you have to soak it in to believe it.  See you there!  Christine  P.S. [5:20] Greetings from Listener Lori! [5:46] Today (4:12 AM PDT), the Sun trines Jupiter at 15º33' Virgo and Taurus. Simple tasks and being our natural selves are the road to satisfaction and reward! [7:48] Moon Report! The Moon is in its sign of rulership, Cancer and trines Saturn (3:43 AM PDT) at 2°55' Cancer-Pisces.  Emotions could get choppy this afternoon (1:33 PM PDT) when the Moon squares Mars at 7°56' Cancer-Libra. [9:25] The Cancer Moon will be Void-of-Course (VOC) for almost four hours on Sunday, September 10th, between its opposition to Pluto (5:47 AM PDT) and when it enters Leo (9:36 AM PDT). Unresolved feelings and hurts, and even regrets might rise to the surface. [10:11] Greetings from Listener Teresa! [10:35] Days of the Week: Friday (love), Saturday (work), and Sunday (rest). [10:55] Friday is Venus' Day. Friday is named for Freya, the Norse goddess of love, beauty, fertility, and sex. Traditional homemakers made Friday the day that they cleaned their homes, but it's a fine day for romance, too! [12:30] Saturday is Saturn's day. Any kind of hard physical labor is compatible with Saturn's energy. The traditional homemaker baked on Saturday so that fresh bread would be available for Sunday, the Sabbath. [13:41] Sunday is the Sun's Day. This was the traditional day of rest, set aside for relaxation, recreation, and worship, all ruled by the Sun. It's Void-of-Course for 6 ½ hours before it enters Cancer (9:59 PM PDT). Multitasking is favored over getting really intensely focused on one thing, but be careful about overdoing it. [7:44] Thursday is Jupiter's Day. Its name is derived from the Norse God, Thor, often associated with Jupiter. [8:15] Jupiter compels us to share our thoughts and beliefs, teaching, lecturing, writing for publication. Jupiter also supports adventures to unfamiliar territory. In the traditional home, Thursday was marketing day, so spread your wealth around! [9:16] Consider honoring Jupiter by wearing Jupiterian colors of turquoise and purple and/or his gemstones which are turquoise, topaz and lapis lazuli. [10:20] Greetings from Listener Shellie! [11:09] A closer look at the Sabian symbols.  The Sabian symbols are 360 symbolic images and phrases, one for each degree of the zodiac. They were channeled by psychic Elsie Wheeler and recorded by astrologer Marc Edmund Jones in 1925 in San Diego, California. [11:55] Astrologers use the symbols as a tool of divination, as points of focus for meditation, even as writing prompts, and they can take us into a birth chart in a little more imaginative way. [13:22] Josh's question about using the Sabian symbols (and…ox entrails?).  Check out Lynda Hill's book, 360 Degrees of Wisdom, for more information about Sabian symbols. Just a heads up, as the Moon squares Mercury today (1:45 PM PDT), feelings may not match up with words. [7:35] Tuneful greetings from Listener Emily! Since Mercury is associated with manual and mental dexterity, mend clothing, study, communicate, and run neighborhood errands. [10:44] A closer look at the Lunar Phase Family Cycles. Appreciate the power and privilege that come with having the necessities of life covered. [9:45] The Moon squares Saturn at 03°06' of Gemini-Pisces (6:49 PM PDT), another reminder of how truly fortunate you are. [10:23] A look at the Void-of-Course Moon. It's a period of varying length between the Moon's last major aspect (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition) to other planets and until it changes signs. The Nodes, Chiron, asteroids and angles are not included. [12:28] Some say that if you initiate something on a VOC Moon, nothing would come of the matter. Don't believe it! Mercury's Sabian symbol is 16 Virgo, An Orangutan, and Jupiter is on 16 Taurus, An old man tries in vain to share the mysteries. It's retrograde through Dec. 30, when it turns direct at 05º34' Taurus. This is the degree of the lunar eclipse on October 28, 2023 as well. Look to your own inner guidance on subjects like beliefs, religion, education, travel and adventure. [9:01] Greetings from Listener Ann! [9:36] Moon Report! Today's Moon is in relaxed, indulgent Taurus, one of her favorite signs. [10:51] The Moon trines the Sun (4:12 AM PDT), squares Venus (5:08 AM PDT), and then aspects today's Mercury-Jupiter configuration: trine Mercury (10:35 AM PDT) and conjoined Jupiter (11:05 AM PDT). [11:46] When the Moon is in hard aspect with the planet that rules its sign, such as today's Taurus Moon square Venus in Leo, it gives a little bit of a mixed message. Complications could interrupt the day's flow of events. [12:39] The Moon's aspects to today's Mercury/Jupiter trine suggests an excellent time for receiving cooperation, collaboration and sharing information. [14:05] Monday is the Moon's Day. Planet Earth is engaged in a cosmic dance with the other bodies in our solar system. When a certain planet or star group comes into alignment (with our own one another), it is significant.  We pay attention to the full moon as well as solar and lunar eclipses. Another way we recognize this relationship is to celebrate the cycle of the seasons, marked by June and December Solstices and March and September Equinoxes. Solstices and Equinox are moments where we are also able to experience increased soul growth, ask questions (and receive answers), to set goals, and to call energy into our path. They are celebrated so widely because they power they have. A lot of people naturally tap into this just by being on the planet. Have you been awake all night, lately? Finding yourself having dreams where you are moving through houses or tunnels to get to a destination? That is a sign your soul is having this experience.   In this instalment of Crow Medicine, I talk about the sacred nature of solstice, tell you about the importance of these gateways for personal development AND suggest some ways that you may like to bring this power into your own life for your benefit.   https://crow-medicine.com/2023/06/15/solstice-special-path-to-powerful-connection/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/katie-indicrow/message

The two planets conjoined on March 5, 2022 at 0°1' Aquarius, squared each other on Sep. 16 and then had an opposition on November 30.  It's time to kiss and make up. [3:40] On Jan. 10 at 11:51 PM PST, Venus at 10°18' Aquarius squares the Lunar Nodes in Taurus and Scorpio. This square is activating the eclipse point from the April 30, 2022 Solar Eclipse at 10°28' Taurus. [4:52] The Sabian symbol for 11 Taurus, which is the degree of the North Node, is A woman sprinkling flowers. This Aquarian Venus square the Nodes on the Taurus / Scorpio axis represents an opportunity to let go of fear and suspicion and embrace trust. All of these transits may have had a dampening effect on our desires to take care of business over the recent months. [10:31] On Jan. 13 at 6:11 AM PST, the Sun in Capricorn sextiles Neptune at 23°06' Capricorn and Pisces. The Sabian symbol for the Sun, 24 Capricorn is A woman entering a convent. The Sabian symbol for Venus is 15 Aquarius, Two love birds sitting on a fence.  Have your business or personal relationships been feeling stale?  This could be an opportunity to leave for greener pastures. [15:53] Moon Report! The Last Quarter Moon at 24°38' Libra (Jan. 14 at 6:10 PM PST) squares the Sun conjoined Pluto in Capricorn. [16:19] This Last Quarter Moon is the final critical point in a Lunar Phase Family that began with a turbulent New Moon on October 16, 2020 at 23°53' Libra, intensified at the First Quarter Moon July 17, 2021, and revealed a full story at the April 16, 2022 Full Moon. This final action point of this Lunar Phase family asks us to decide what is salvageable in relationships and what needs to be thrown into Pluto's cosmic compost bin. [19:06] Void-of-Course Moon Periods (VOC). On Jan. 9th at 5:52 PM PST, the Moon at 23°21' Leo opposes Saturn in Aquarius. [20:22] The Moon in Virgo trines Pluto on Jan. 12 at 3:06 PM PST. The Moon will be VOC for about four hours and then enters Libra at 6:56 PM PST. Happy New Year! Or is it? While large parts of the world celebrate the start of a new calendar year on January 1st, much of the world celebrates the New Year at other times. Many cultures base their New Year on events in Nature, astronomical events, or a combination of both.In this episode, Thom explains the basis for the Vedic New Year and the rationale behind it. While it isn't celebrated as ‘enthusiastically' as New Year is in the West, it marks a significant stage in the rhythm of life and is worthy of our attention each time it comes around, even if we have another New Year celebration that's more significant to us.Episode Highlights:[00:45] The Gregorian Calendar[01:41] Cues From Nature[03:24] Solstices and Equinoxes[04:46] Yuletide[05:51] Gap Week[07:39] Vernal Equinox[09:01] Spring - When We See the Fecundity of the Earth[10:47] Creating Additional JoyUseful Linksinfo@thomknoles.com  https://thomknoles.com/https://www.instagram.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.facebook.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.youtube.com/c/thomknoleshttps://thomknoles.com/ask-thom-anything/

The First Quarter Moon in this Lunar Phase Family was on April 8, 2022 at 19°24' Cancer.  This week's Full Moon in Cancer is the time when we can see the consequences of what was initiated in July 2021, and then make any changes necessary moving forward. [15:29] Mercury at 15°01' Capricorn trines Uranus on Jan. 8 (3:23 PM PST). Think back to the Sun's trine to Uranus on Jan. 4 – did you appreciate what makes you special?  Now that Mercury is involved, it would be a fantastic time to let the world know about these unique and special traits. [4:05] The Sun enters Capricorn (Dec. 21, 1:48 pm PST), marking the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. [5:22] This particular Capricorn Solstice is energized quite a bit by the Sun's square to Jupiter in Aries (Dec. 21, 4:51 PM PST at 00°07' of both signs). None of us is getting any younger, but it's never too late for a fresh start. [21:52] Mercury makes a sextile to Neptune on Dec. 24 (5:17 PM PST), at 22°46' of Capricorn and Pisces. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, marking the return of the Sun in the Northern Hemisphere. The Ancients and native cultures have always celebrated these Solar Festivals as powerful times that were worthy of ceremony. Fires were lit to honor the Winter and Summer Solstices, thus the tradition of lighting the Yule Log derives from our pagan ancestors. Theosophical teachings which emerged in the late 19th century, derived from the Vedic wisdom of India, predicted the increasing importance of honoring the full moon, new moon, equinox and solstice cycles during the coming Aquarian Age. Well we are now in that Aquarian Age, and any ceremony or ritual, prayer or mantra that we perform on December 21 will be empowered at this Winter Solstice. There is a primal urge in humankind to be rekindled, rebirthed and renewed at these seasonal Solar Festivals which include the two Solstices, two Equinoxes,  and four cross-quarter days, honored by our ancestors, indigenous, and pre-Christian pagans.  These days of honoring the Earth and Sun are in order of their procession in the Gregorian calendar are:  February 2, know as "Imbolc," also called Candlemas which is the half-way point between the winter solstice and Spring equinox in the northern hemisphere.  Then the Spring Equinox on March 21. Beltane, honors the fruits of the Spring in the Northern Hemisphere  on May 1st.  Followed by the Summer Solstice on June 21st, Lammas on August 1, Autumnal Equinox on September 21," Samhain," also known as All Souls Day on November 1, and Winter Solstice on December 21st.  Most of you may be familiar with the Vernal or Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice (check out my previous podcast,) Autumnal Equinox and Winter Solstice.  But the cross-quarter days celebrated by our indigenous and pagan ancestors are less known and they are Imbolc, Beltane, Lammas or Lughnassah, and Samhain or All Soul's day.The Winter Solstice provides a powerful time of year to bring in more Inner Light.  Any rituals, meditations, or spiritual prayers and practices at this time of year will help to empower an individual or group in the coming New Year.  One powerful practice is to chant the "Great Invocation," at these annual Solar festivals. The Great InvocationFrom the point of Light within the Mind of GodLet light stream forth into the minds of men.Let Light descend on Earth. From the point of Love within the Heart of GodLet love stream forth into the hearts of men.May Christ return to Earth. From the center where the Will of God is knownLet purpose guide the little wills of men –The purpose which the Masters know and serve. From the centre which we call the race of menLet the Plan of Love and Light work outAnd may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.Book your 2023 astrology reading: www.jilljardineastrology.com

The Sabian symbols: Sun on 21 Sagittarius, A child and a dog with borrowed eyeglasses, Saturn on 21 Aquarius, A woman disappointed and disillusioned. Consider holding off on making major commitments at this time because we may not be seeing the whole story. [7:39] A Last Quarter Moon indicates a need to take corrective action based on past experience or prior knowledge. This Moon opposes Jupiter, finishing up its stay in Pisces. Reflect on how your horizons may have expanded since May of 2021, when Jupiter first Pisces.  Jupiter enters Aries on Dec. 20 and will not return to Pisces for another 12 years (approximately). [12:17] The Moon at 27°15' Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn on Dec. 18 at 2:35 PM PST.  It's VOC for about five hours before it enters Scorpio at 7:30 PM PST.  This could be a time to take a very honest review of how balanced our relationships are. Mercury's extended stay in Capricorn is due to its retrograde period (Dec. 29, 2022-Jan. 18, 2023). This is an important point in the Sun-Mars cycle that began with their conjunction in October of 2021. Take note of the changes you've seen and lessons you have learned. [14:16]  On December 9th, Venus (Sagittarius 29°12') squares Jupiter in Pisces at 4:55 am PST.  Later that day, Venus enters Capricorn at 7:54 pm PST, echoing Mercury's transits from earlier in the week. What can you create during this last month of 2022 to leave this year feeling happier and better prepared for 2023? First up: A First Quarter Moon at 8°21' Pisces and Sagittarius (Nov. 30, 6:36 am PST). The Sabian symbol for this Quarter Moon in Pisces is A jockey. The Sun is on 9 Sagittarius, A mother and her child on the stairs. This action-oriented First Quarter Moon urges us to move ahead, but you may want to err of the side of caution. [3:33] This First Quarter Moon is the first action point in the Lunar Phase family that began with the March 2, 2022 New Moon in Pisces. It's time to take some decisive steps towards that very Piscean dream that was conceived at that New Moon. [4:16] Void-of-Course Moon periods (VOC) for the week. On Nov. 28 at 10:53 pm PST, the Moon conjoins Saturn at 19°44' Aquarius. It's then VOC for 17 hours (!!!) before it enters Pisces on Nov. 29 at 4:15 pm PST. What are we building for the future? How can we learn more discipline or gain more strength to make that goal happen? [5:35] During the hour and day of Jupiter, the Moon at 28°54' Pisces conjoins one of its rulers, Jupiter, on Dec. 1 at 6:44 pm PST. The Moon will then be VOC for a very pleasant two hours before entering Aires at 8:41 pm PST. Get ready for a Jupiterian gratitude bonanza! [6:43] On Dec. 3 at 9:46 pm PST, the 26°51' Aries Moon squares Pluto (Capricorn 26°51'). The Moon is VOC for just under six hours before it enters Taurus (Dec. 4, 3:38 am PST). Be on the lookout for feelings of frustration, guilt and shame. What are the lessons to be learned from past transgressions? [8:13] Retrograde Mars (Gemini 19°42') makes a trine aspect to Saturn (Aquarius 19°42') on Nov. 28 at 9:56 am PST. This is the second of three trines Mars in Gemini will make to Saturn. The first trine was on September 27 and the third trine in this series will occur on March 30, 2023, just after Mars has slipped into Cancer. [8:45] The Sabian symbol for Mars is 20 Gemini, A cafeteria. Saturn is on the Sabian symbol 20 Aquarius, A big white dove, a message bearer. This is an excellent time to finish a project we may have started late September so that we can give our all to something new in March 2023. [9:42] Mercury (19° 18' Sagittarius) will oppose Mars (19° 18' Gemini) on Nov. 29 at 12:30 pm PST. A few hours later at 8:18 pm PST, Mercury (19° 47' Sagittarius) sextiles Saturn (19°47' Aquarius). For both of these aspects, Mercury is on the Sabian symbol 20 Sagittarius, Men cutting through ice. [10:13] When Mercury opposes Mars, Mars will still be on that "cafeteria" Sabian symbol (?). Mercury here is helping to cut through the ice, to cut to the chase and choose something. [10:43] The choice that became evident to us as Mercury was opposed Mars is seen as a choice to take some constructive action when Mercury sextiles Saturn at 8:18 pm PST. We will fine tune all of this in March when Mars is direct and makes its final trine to Saturn. [11:48] On Nov. 30, Venus (18°47' Sagittarius) opposes retrograde Mars (18°47' Gemini) at 9:28 pm PST. This is the midpoint in the Venus-Mars cycle that began back on March 5, 2022 with the conjunction at 0°1' Aquarius. How are past relationships impacting current ones? How can you take the skills you may have learned from previous work situations and apply them to your current work in order to make things more interesting and possibly more lucrative? [13:54] Mercury at 22°38' Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces on Dec. 1 at 5:08 pm PST. Cut through confusion and speak your mind. [14:55] A few hours later (Dec. 1, 7:09 pm PST), Venus at 19°55' Sagittarius sextiles Saturn in Aquarius. Key an eye out for an invitation to make something pleasurable into something that lasts. [16:15] Neptune (Pisces 22°38') turns direct on Dec. 3 at 4:15 pm PST. Neptune has been retrograde since June 27, 2022. It is turning direct on the intriguing Sabian symbol, 23 Pisces, A materializing medium. It's time to put on those rose-colored glasses and see people and opportunities in the sweetest light possible. [18:16] Also on Dec. 3, at 11:12 pm PST, Venus (22°38' Sagittarius) will square freshly-direct Neptune (22°38' Pisces). Be aware of disillusionment in relationships and financial matters. This is the final action point in the Venus-Neptune cycle that began with their conjunction on April 27, their opening square on July 13, an opposition on September 24. Mark this big Neptune day on your calendar. Can you see any disconnects from a hopeful perception versus reality? Big Sky Astrology on Facebook | Instagram |  Twitter |  YouTube   Timestamps [1:00] Welcome, and join us in celebrating three years of the Big Sky Astrology Podcast! Much gratitude to those who've been here from the beginning, as well as those of you who've found the show along the way! [1:45] Mercury conjoins Venus on Nov. 21st (2:55 pm PST, 07°09' Sagittarius), a time of declarations and redefinition of relationships. This is also an excellent aspect for brainstorming about ways to make money or how to further your financial knowledge. [3:03] The Sabian symbol for this conjunction is 8 Sagittarius, Rocks and things forming therein. All may seem stable and still, but there could be a lot going on underneath the surface. [3:42] The Sun enters Sagittarius on Nov. 22, 2022 (12:20 am PST) and is in this sign until the Capricorn Solstice (Dec. 21). Capricorn season is when we reflect on the resolutions we may have made at the beginning of the year. Sagittarius season highlights the desire to be free of burdens in favor of being a happy wanderer. [5:02] The day after the Sun's ingress into Sagittarius (Nov. 23, 3:02 pm PST at 28°47' Pisces) Jupiter, its ruling planet, stations direct. The Sabian symbol for 29 Pisces is A Prism. Give yourself a chance to see things from a different perspective. [6:40] Jupiter turned retrograde on July 28, 2022 and will return to the sign of Aries on December 20. When Jupiter is retrograde, it's up to us to find a sense of positivity and optimism. It is also an excellent time to calculate your next big adventure. Now that Jupiter is direct, it is time to act on those plans. [8:03] Moon Report! We welcome the Sagittarius New Moon on Nov. 23 (2:57 pm PST, 1°37' Sagittarius). The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is 2 Sagittarius, The ocean covered with white caps.  Mutable Fire sign Sagittarius is known for its enthusiasm and optimism.  Mutable energy tends to be prone to change and restlessness, like the roiling sea. [9:39] The Sun and Moon at this New Moon are in an out-of-sign trine to Jupiter in Pisces as well as a wide conjunction to Venus. A positive-looking New Moon overall and the best New Moon of the year for setting intentions related to personal growth. [10:20] This lunation also begins a Lunar Phase Family, so set these intentions with the next 27 months in mind!  The First Quarter Moon in this series is on August 24, 2023 at 1° Sagittarius; the Full Moon is on May 23, 2024 at 2°55' Sagittarius; and the Third Quarter Moon is on February 20, 2025 at 2°19' Sagittarius. Think big, think long-term, and choose your next great adventure you want to embark on. [11:52] Void-of-Course Moon periods (VOC).  On Nov. 21 (3:14 am PST), the Moon at 26°34' Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn. It's VOC for about six hours and then enters Scorpio at 9:16 am PST. Greet the week with a determination to be as fair and kind as Libra desires but also as truthful as Pluto demands. [12:44] Five hours before the Sagittarius New Moon, the Moon at 28°47' Scorpio makes a trine to Jupiter in Pisces (Nov. 23, 10:16 am PST). It's VOC for just over two hours before entering Sagittarius at 12:16 pm PST. Time to let go of negative feelings and move on. [13:33] On Nov. 25 at 11:22 am PST, the Moon at 28°48' Sagittarius squares Jupiter in Pisces, is VOC for a little over two hours, then enters Capricorn at 1:18 pm PST.  We may ruminate over our Thanksgiving overindulgences (both verbal and gastronomical) from the day before. Unfortunately, what's done is done, so take this time to think about how you can handle these temptations better in the future. [14:25] The Moon at 28°49' Capricorn is sextile Jupiter in Pisces on Nov. 27 at 12:11 pm PST, is VOC for about two hours, and then enters Aquarius at 2:07 pm PST. Schedule some structured fun and relaxation! [15:29] Listener Mariana asks about Prenatal Eclipse points, and April introduces us to these sensitive points and their cycle. The Sun and Mercury fall into formation with Pluto. Mercury and Venus prepare the way for the Sun's Sagittarius season, which begins next week. Timestamps [1:10] Moon Report!  The Last Quarter Moon at 24°9' Leeeeooooo (Nov. 16, 2022, 5:27 am PST) squares the Sun and Mercury in Scorpio, opposes Saturn in Aquarius, and squares Uranus in Taurus as well. The result is a Grand Cross configuration, and since the fixed signs are involved, you may notice that people are a little more entrenched in their position than usual. [2:39] This Last Quarter Moon also sextiles retrograde Mars in Gemini. Look for a helpful person from the past to appear just when you need them! [3:12] The Sabian symbols for this Last Quarter Moon are 25 Leo, A large camel crossing the desert and the Sun on 25 Scorpio, An X-ray.  We are seeing things the way they are instead of the way we would like them to be. This is tough but could lead to greater emotional self-reliance. [5:30] This is the last critical moment in a Lunar Phase Family Cycle that began at the August 2020 New Moon in Leo. Here's an opportunity to make one final push towards a passion project that was initiated at that New Moon. [6:09] Void-of-Course Moon (VOC) periods. On Nov. 14 (2:41 am PST), the Moon trines Jupiter (28°57' Cancer and Pisces).  It's VOC for about five hours before entering Leo at 7:43 am PST. A lovely time for setting a bedtime intention about family adventures, drafting plans to expand or improve your home, or even move someplace new. [7:15] The Moon in Leo squares Mercury (29°25' Leo and Scorpio) at 3:55 pm PST on Nov. 16 and is VOC for just over one hour before entering Virgo (5:03 pm PST). That x-ray vision, Scorpionic Mercury might bring up some negative feedback about a creative project. Leave it to the Moon in Virgo to make things right. [8:12] On Nov. 19 (12:47 am PST), the Moon in 28°50' Virgo opposes Jupiter in Pisces. It's VOC for a little over two hours and enters Libra at 2:57 am PST. If you're a night owl or are across the Atlantic from North America, ponder this call to adventure. [9:50] As the Sun and Mars aspect Neptune, Neptune will be on the Sabian symbol 23 Pisces, A materializing medium aka Spiritist Phenomena - an ethereal degree for an ethereal planet. [10:18] The Sun trines Neptune (Pisces 22°44' Scorpio and Pisces) on Nov. 14th at 7:43 pm PST, on the Sabian symbol 23 Scorpio, A bunny metamorphosed into a fairy.  It's the time of year for magical transformations.  [11:33] Mars squares Neptune (22°42' Gemini and Pisces) on Nov. 19 at 7:43 am PST. This is the second of three squares (the others on Oct. 11, 2022 and March 14, 2023) while Mars is in its extended transit through Gemini. It's time to defend what you have faith in. [12:37] Mercury sextiles Pluto (Nov. 14, 6:27 pm PST) at 26°27' Scorpio and Capricorn. Mercury's Sabian symbol is 27 Scorpio, A military band on the march and Pluto, as usual, is on 27 Capricorn, A mountain pilgrimage. So, as the Sun enjoys its Neptunian spa day, Mercury will be practicing power handshakes with Pluto. [13:50] On Nov. 18 at 1:43 pm PST, the Sun sextiles Pluto (26°31' Scorpio and Capricorn). It's time to get real and empower yourself. [14:43] The Sun, Mercury and Venus all trine Jupiter in Pisces this week. Venus (28°55' Scorpio) is the first in line on Nov. 15 at 1:36 am PST. [15:28] Mercury (28°53' Scorpio) follows suit on Nov. 16 at 7:43 am PST. Look for a financial advisor to help you manage your Jupiter windfall! [16:02] The Sun (28°48' Scorpio) seals this Jupiterian deal on Nov. 20 at 8:07 pm PST. [16:45] Last but not least, Mercury and Venus enter Sagittarius this week. Venus enters the sign of the Archer first on Nov. 15 at 10:08 pm PST, followed by Mercury on Nov. 17 at 12:42 am PST. Order some Thai takeout and cue up those foreign language comedies on Netflix. [18:02] Mercury can run into some problems in Sagittarius, the sign of its detriment - which means it's opposite Mercury's home sign of Gemini. Check out April's interview with Mel LaFara's in Episode 139 about planets in their detriment or fall. Spoiler alert: they could be super powers in disguise! [3:52] Election Day in the U.S. coincides with a Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse (Nov. 8, 2022, 3:02 am PST, at 16°01' Taurus) on the Sabian symbol 17 Taurus: A symbolic battle between swords and torches.  The Moon is in an exact conjunction with Uranus, opposed the Sun, Venus, and Mercury in Scorpio, and all of them square Saturn in Aquarius. This is the molecular opposite of "chill." [7:10] The release point for this fixed T-Square is in Leo. Creativity, play, and focusing on your own pursuits are great coping mechanisms for any intensity you may experience. [8:09] Check out Episode 151 for insights into eclipses in the Houses of the Horoscope and aspects to natal planets (use conjunction, square, or opposition within  4° orb). How is your chart affected? Then, look to previous eclipses near 16º Taurus - most recently: May 10, 2013 (Solar eclipse, 19°Taurus), Nov. 9, 2003 (Lunar Eclipse, 16°Taurus), May 10, 1994 (Solar Eclipse, 19°48' Taurus), and Nov. 8, 1984 (Lunar Eclipse, 16°30' Taurus). [10:20] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods for this week. Upbeat Jupiter has the final say right now! [10:54] On Nov. 9th (4:00 am PST), the Moon (Taurus 29°09') sextiles Jupiter (Pisces 29°09') and then is VOC for a little over an hour before entering Gemini (5:37 am PST).  Stability and resources are available to support a big vision. [11:49] The Moon at 29°02' Gemini squares Jupiter on Nov. 11th (2:28 pm PST).  It's VOC for just under two hours before entering Cancer at 4:22 pm PST. A terrific time to capture your big ideas in writing. [12:50] The Sun and Mercury (Scorpio 16°15') make their superior conjunction on Nov. 8 (8:43 am PST).  Mercury opposes Uranus at 16°55' Taurus later that day (6:40 pm PST).  Since this is Election Day in the U.S., we could experience some unexpected voting or vote counting issues (though is that really unexpected at this point?). [14:10] The Sun (Scorpio 16°54') opposes Uranus (Taurus 16°54'0) on Nov. 9 (12:26 am PST). This is an opportunity to free ourselves not just from the expectations of other people but also from our own ideas of who we are and who we have to be.  See if you can connect the dots to the conjunction (May 2022) and square (August 2022) in this Sun-Uranus cycle. [15:19] Mercury (Scorpio 18°52') squares Saturn (Aquarius 18°52') on Nov. 10 (11:51 pm PST). All things Mercury are going to take more determination and effort.  Just keep working hard and success will be yours! [16:42] The Sun (Scorpio 18°54') squares Saturn (Aquarius 18°54') on Nov. 11 (12:04 am PST).  This aspect is like trying to grow something, (aka you!) in very hard, compacted soil.  You could feel exhausted and pessimistic, but don't give up! [18:30] Venus (22°47' Scorpio) trines Neptune (22°47' Pisces) on Nov. 10 (4:22 am PST).  Mercury (22°46' Scorpio) trines Neptune (22°46' Pisces) on Nov. 12 at 10:36 am PST. The Sabian symbol for Mercury and Venus at 23 Scorpio is A bunny metamorphosed into a fairy, and Neptune is on 23 Pisces, Spiritist Phenomena which we sometimes see written as A materializing medium. Both symbols speak about transformation on a spiritual level. [21:06] Finally, on Nov. 13 at 1:41 am PST, Venus (Scorpio 26°25') sextiles Pluto (Capricorn 26°25').  Venus squared Pluto on October 19, 2022, and they will meet in a conjunction on December 31, 2022. Venus is on the Sabian symbol 27 Scorpio, A military band on the march, and Pluto is on 27 Capricorn, A mountain pilgrimage.  Time to put assemble a team, put on a snappy outfit, and start marching towards a lofty goal. This is the First Quarter Moon in a Lunar Phase Family that began with the Aquarius New Moon on January 31, 2022. [3:36] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. Oct. 31: The Moon in Capricorn sextiles Jupiter in Pisces at 8:14 am PDT and is VOC for about a half hour before entering Aquarius (8:43am PDT). Use this brief interlude to write down one big project you would like to accomplish. [4:50] November 2: The Moon in Aquarius trines retrograde Mars, then goes VOC for about seven and a half hours before entering Pisces (11:46 am PDT). Use this time to brainstorm - then add your ideas to the very practical outline that developed during that Halloween morning, Moon in Capricorn coffee klatch! [5:48] November 4: The Moon in Pisces conjoins Jupiter (3:05 pm PDT) and is VOC for about one hour before entering Aries (4:07 pm PDT). This is just a little mid-afternoon, VOC nap to dream big Jupiterian dreams. [6:26] Venus (Scorpio 17°03') opposes Uranus (Taurus 17°03') on November 5th at 3:22 pm PDT.  The Sabian symbol for Venus, 18 Scorpio, is, Wood rich in autumn coloring. The Sabian symbol for Uranus is 18 Taurus, A woman holding a bag out the window. Autumn is a season of releasing and letting go, and this aspect makes the process easier. [8:08] Mini-lesson: Eclipses in the houses of the horoscope (from Ep. 120) and in aspect to natal planets (from Ep. 121). [8:48] Eclipses in astrology signify change and crisis – but don't be afraid, crisis just means you need to move in a new direction! [9:58] Solar Eclipses tend to be experienced through overwhelming emotions. Lunar Eclipses are often times when we react to emotional challenges by trying to hold onto something more material and real. [11:49] Eclipses move backward through pairs of houses in the chart. [2:23] Check out Episode 120 for an expanded look at eclipses in the houses of your horoscope, and Episode 121 for eclipses in aspect to planets in your chart. This week's eclipse triggers planets or points in your chart that fall between 28° cardinal (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) to 6° of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius.) Here are some of April's articles and essays about eclipses! [4:26] This Solar Eclipse is closely conjoined Venus (2°39' Scorpio); relationships that are floundering will change one way or the other. Look to eclipses near this degree in 2013-2014, 2055, 1995, 1986 and 1976 for commonalities and patterns. And of course, you can get a more in-depth look at eclipses in your chart with April's “Followed by a Moonshadow” eclipse report! [6:56] During Scorpio season, we celebrate Halloween and transitions of all kinds. The awareness of mortality makes the physical world seem that much more sweet and sacred. [8:44] Void-of-Course Moon periods: On October 24th at 5:36 pm PDT, the Moon at 26°10' Libra squares Pluto (Capricorn 26°10'). It will be VOC for about seven hours before entering Scorpio on October 25th at 12:19 am PDT. Meditating on transformation in relationships is encouraged before emerging into the upcoming eclipse. [10:21] The Moon at 26°16' Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn (October 26th at 9:27 pm PDT). It's then VOC for about six and a half hours before entering Sagittarius at 3:55 am (October 27th).  Pay attention to your dreams. [11:54] On October 29, 6:10 am PDT, the Sagittarius Moon (29°53') squares Jupiter (Pisces 29°53') and will be VOC for a whole 11 minutes before entering Capricorn – a brief invitation to fly in a new and exciting direction. [12:52] This week, Mercury makes aspects to Mars and Pluto before entering Scorpio. Mercury at 25°31' Libra trines Mars in Gemini (October 26, 2022 at 8:37 pm PDT).  Mercury's square to Pluto occurs on October 27th at 6:08 am PDT at 26°12' Libra and Capricorn. [13:34] Both Sabian symbols for Mercury reference flying. Mercury trines Mars from 26 Libra, An eagle and a large white dove turning one into the other. And it squares Pluto from 27 Libra, An airplane hovering overhead. Look for a feeling of liberation as we release what came up during the recent Mercury retrograde period. [15:04] As Mercury makes its trine to Mars, it becomes much easier to act on what we've been thinking about. Mercury square Pluto warns that though we have a clearer picture of what we want to do and more determination, there are still forces that could make it difficult. [16:20] Mercury enters Scorpio (October 29th at 12:22 pm PDT), an excellent transit for research and tough conversations. Honesty is the best policy. [17:46] Jupiter re-enters Pisces (October 27th at 10:10 pm PDT), to finish the transit that began between December 28, 2021 and May 10, 2022. Before Jupiter leaves Pisces for good on December 19, take advantage of a chance in the Pisces area of your chart that you might have missed earlier in the year. [19:02] Mars stations retrograde at 25°36' Gemini (October 30, 2022 at 6:26 am PDT, through Jan. 12, 2023) on the Sabian symbol 26 Gemini, Winter frost in the woods. Mars won't enjoy his chilly, retrograde holding cell! If you thought Mercury retrograde was a pain this time around, Mars retrograde in Mercury-ruled Gemini promises the same, but more so. Traveling, finding gifts and getting along with people could be extra challenging this holiday season. [22:53] Listener Bailey asks April about setting intentions. How does the idea of creating our own reality align with other aspects of astrology? And what does Leonardo DiCaprio have to do with any of it? Timestamps [1:13] The week begins with a Last Quarter Moon at 24°18' Cancer on October 17th at 10:15 am PDT.  This Last Quarter Moon features a T-Square of the Moon in Cance, opposed Pluto in Capricorn and both square the Sun at 24°Libra. Look to Aries for an escape route. [3:33] This is the final critical moment in a Lunar Phase Gestation Cycle that began on the Cancer (28°26') New Moon on July 20, 2022. The First Quarter Moon of this cycle was in April 2021, and the Full Moon in January 2022. [4:50] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods for this week:  October 17th, between 1:56 pm and 9:46 pm PDT. The Moon's opposition to Pluto is a time to reflect on how to make ourselves stronger and truly protected without closing off completely. [6:15] The Moon in Leo (27°00') sextiles the Sun (Libra 27°00') on October 20th at 3:35 am PDT and is VOC for six hours before entering Virgo at 9:25 am PDT.  Look for opportunities to collaborate with another which could lead to being recognized for the star that you are! [7:15] On October 22nd the Moon in Virgo (26°09') trines Pluto in Capricorn (26°09') at 11:17am PDT and is VOC for almost seven hours before entering Libra (6:24 pm PDT).  Cleaning or organizing could be a soothing outlet at this time. [8:51] The Sun in Libra (24°30') trines Mars in Gemini (Oct. 17, 3:05 pm PDT), getting a welcome jolt of Mars' energy and decisiveness! [9:56] Venus (Libra 24°42') trines Mars in Gemini (Oct. 18, 7:20 pm PDT).  Since Venus is so close to the Sun, we may have a hard time seeing an interesting prospect that is right in front of our face. Mars is on the Sabian symbol, "A Man Trimming Palms," which suggests narrowing down your possibilities. [12:33] The Sun (Libra 26°08') squares Pluto in Capricorn (Oct. 19, 6:33 am PDT), followed by Venus later that evening (11:02 pm PDT). Channel Stuart Smalley and repeat this mantra: "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and doggone it, people like me!" [15:42] The Sun and Venus come together in a conjunction at Libra 29°26' (Oct. 22, 2:17 pm PDT), sparking a burst of creativity between October 21-23rd. [17:46] Mercury trines Saturn just as Saturn turns direct (Oct. 22, 6:00 pm PDT, Aquarius 18°35'), an excellent time to focus on what's important. [20:07]  Scorpio season begins! Venus enters Scorpio (Oct. 23, 12:52 am PDT), followed by the Sun (3:36 am PDT). It's time to celebrate the miracle of compost! We're also getting close to the Oct. 25 Solar Eclipse at 2° Scorpio. (What will the eclipse mean for you? Order April's Followed by a Moonshadow eclipse report!) [22:12] Listener Rachel asks about how we can cope, as individuals, with the upcoming Pluto in Aquarius era. Wise beings know how to use the natural cycles of the earth and universe to support us to grow our work, wealth and relationships, and to support our health, and keep us focused on what matters. Which is why one of my top three pratices for staying out of burnout and overwhelm and stay on the path of sustainable success, impact and wellbeing in the "Power Pause" + why I created this episdoe for you, which is really more like a mini retreat.  Power pauses are an elevated leadership best practice we do quarterly, at the Equinoxes and Solstices, the natural shifting times. Equinoxes are all about illuminating imbalances, shifting habits to restore wellbeing, and re-focusing your priorities and intentions for the next quarter.  The September Equinox offers us insight to illuminate where the imbalances currently exist in your life & how to reset yourself and refocus your life force  - especially the ways in which you are over giving and under receiving, the habits that may have worked in the summer but won't support you now, and the ways in which making changes to your home, health and wealth can support you to end your year strong, sane and supported. Often at Equinox, I am out in the world doing full day power pauses for teams, weekend and one day retreats for conscious women, and going through the process myself. And I like to do a mini power pause for all of us here at Feminine Power Time ... with some of the key parts of the process I feel like we can most benefit from this particular year. The theme of Sept Equinox is always Harvest. This year, I added the theme of RECEIVE, because I feel like we can use a fill up at a heart, mind, soul, spirit and body level.   Tune into this Power Pause and: Learn the wisdom behind taking power pauses 4 times a year - and how this practice can yield big returns in your business, career, relationships and health/wealth/home Learn about why we need to FEEL to make the impact we are making REAL. I will lead us through a 5 inquiry process, including visualization and meditation to: Feel good about what you have already done this year - and really feel the difference you are making + how much you've grown.  Reveal the imbalances - work, relationships, health, wealth or home - that need attention. Consider what you need to bring the imbalances into harmony, so you have what you need  Bonus - Gain clarity on what really matters to focus your energy and attention on the last cycle of the calendar year. See you there!  And make sure to check out the Feminine Wisdom Cafe for a special packet I put together for you to help you find the imbalances or shifts of focus + re-harmonize and re-focus.  https://community.christinearylo.com/posts/drafts/sept-equinox-power-pause-practice-give-your-life-a-harmony-adjustment Christine  *** Resources 1.
