When our lives go spinning out of control, it's often the result of a loss of personal power. Losing touch with our hopes, courage, and confidence can go a long way in undermining our happiness. This occurs when we sacrifice pieces of ourselves in return for the validation of others. The only validation in the world that matters is our own. We are the only ones who have the ability to find value and worth in ourselves and our lives. Stop giving your personal power away to other people. Only you can take it back and reclaim it as your own.

Coping with the loss of someone or something you love is one of life’s biggest challenges. You may associate grieving with the death of a loved one—which is often the cause of the most intense type of grief—but any loss can cause grief, including divorce or relationship breakup, loss of health, a miscarriage, a pet, a dream, and friendship. Whatever your loss, it’s personal to you, so don’t feel ashamed about how you feel, or believe that it’s somehow only appropriate to grieve for a certain thing. Whatever the cause of your grief, though, there are healthy ways to cope with the pain that, in time, can ease your sadness and help you come to terms with your loss, find new meaning, and eventually move on with your life. Let's talk about it!

As a child, I recall there were many youth programs and activities in the neighborhood. Whether it was a teacher, neighbor, pastor, or coach, having the one-on-one support of a caring adult who is not a parent can have positive, life-changing outcomes. Many mentoring programs have focused their efforts on working with young people with risk factors, like poverty or neighborhood violence. The results of these programs have benefited youth in many ways. Let's talk about the impact of mentoring our youth!
Most people don’t assign the same level of importance to a mental health checkup as they would some kind of physical checkup. One big reason for this is that while practically everyone feels comfortable about seeing their family doctor at least annually, there is a certain negative connotation associated with visiting a psychologist or psychiatrist to assess mental health. Yet our emotional well-being is just as important as our physical health, and by identifying early signs of such conditions as depression or anxiety, The most serious versions of these can usually be avoided. Let's do a Mental Health heck-in: The Pandemic One Year Later
When our lives go spinning out of control, it’s often the result of a loss of personal power. Losing touch with our hopes, courage, and confidence can go a long way in undermining our happiness. With all that takes place in our lives, it can sometimes be easy to overlook the fact that we're part of something greater than ourselves, the greater good. Because of our tendency to forget this, we might make decisions in our lives that don't reflect that responsibility that comes with this belonging. Contributing to the greater good doesn't have to be all about self-sacrifice. When you serve the greater cause you also serve your greater good. There is nothing that you cannot do for your highest good that will not benefit the good of all.
A person who is said to possess greatness stands apart from others in some way, usually by the size or originality of their vision and their ability to manifest that vision. And yet those who recognize that greatness, whether they display it themselves or not, also have greatness within them; otherwise, they could not see it in another. Therefore Greatness Recognizes Greatness and is Shadowed By It.
I have dealt with anger issues for years. Learning how to control it was a major battle. Anger is a strong, powerful emotion that can originate from feelings of disappointment, frustration, hurt, or annoyance. It’s an emotion that we all experience from time to time. It can range from petty irritations to strong feelings of rage. Angry feelings are influenced by our emotional make-up, our view of the world, and what is going on around us.Anger is a natural, healthy emotion that we all need to express. Sometimes, anger can become uncontrollable and harmful—and it can even lead to violent behavior. The problem is not the anger; it is the way we handle it. Let's talk about it!
People can be incredibly creative when it comes to thinking of excuses. We often used them to get out of situations that seem difficult and unpleasant, or something that is causing us fears and anxieties. Sometimes we use excuses simply because we do not want to commit to something, or maybe because we are lazy and like to procrastinate instead of doing something. Each and every one of us has done it, in one way or the other, in every aspect of our lives.
Narcissistic abuse can be hard to pinpoint. Being in a relationship with a narcissist—whether it’s a romantic partner or a family member—can have lasting impact. The narcissist will go to extreme lengths to avoid taking blame or feeling shame or discomfort. Any kind of abuse can take a significant toll on emotional and physical health. Let’s Talk About It!
Most of us would not readily admit this. But let’s face it, we live for drama. Ever been caught in a long line of traffic only to realize that it was being caused by a relatively minor fender bender on the other side of the road? Ever strained to eavesdrop on a fight between a couple as you stand in line for coffee? We are functions of our environment. To live drama-free, get as many drama creators out of your life as possible.
Great foundations of friendship are built on loyalty, honesty, empathy, acceptance, love and the list just goes on. Some people have an easier time establishing and maintaining friendships than others. And some of us long for closer friendships or try to figure out why an existing or promising relationship fizzled out. You have the right to end any friendship at any time and for any reason, but as a good friend you'll want to find the best approach for both of you.
How can you prepare now so you’re ready to act when a big break comes your way? Too often I see really talented people consumed with developing their skills or getting bogged down emotionally with issues of anxiety, lack of confidence, and feeling "less than" about themselves. Sometimes, these distractions can make you miss important opportunities to try something new, get your foot in the door, and say yes to something that might turn out to be your “Big Break” or “the way to success”.
The world is continually changing all around us. We can choose to either try to ignore the change or to embrace it. In order to live a successful and peaceful existence then the better choice is to lead change, and make it work for you.
Letting go is one of the hardest things to figure out in life. As your emotions usually cloud your logic, and because your feelings make it harder for you to concentrate, it seems like the art of letting go can be confusing and complicated. Let's Talk About it!
"A time comes in your life when you finally get…when, in the midst of all your fears and insanity, you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out…ENOUGH...Enough fighting and crying and blaming and struggling to hold on. Then, like a child quieting down after a tantrum, you blink back your tears and begin to look at the world through new eyes. This is your awakening."
What we focus on becomes our reality. The thoughts we have. Which leads to our words and our actions. All create what is going on in our life right now. How often do you find the first thought at the start of your day being one around lack? Already your first thought is one of lack. Something you are missing. “I don’t have enough money” – lack of finances“I am not good enough” – lack of self-worthLet' start taking today to stop you from focusing on the lack and help you change your perspective.
