Lately we've been evaluating what has been working for us, and fellow health coaches, on social media. When we say ‘working' we're talking about what type of content is helping the followers of health coaches move through a client funnel, from first finding them to actually enrolling in their paid program. After diving into the data we've discovered that it's as important to have non-business-related posts and personal content as it is to offer resources and ways of working with you. It's also important to be intentional with the type of business-related content that you're posting. That's why we've invited our good friend, Alicia Streger, back on the podcast today. She is an expert in social media content and we always love her insight about the most up-to-date strategies. Today she'll help us dig into this topic even further to help make your posting content as engaging as possible. In this episode, you'll discover – The 4 types of content you should be posting on social media right now to grow and convert your audience from strangers to paying clients What kind of content increases brand exposure and attracts a wider audience in relation to visibility, value and connection The type of content that has been proven to increase sales, generate revenue, and transform lives (it's easier than you think) Let's dive into the 4 types of social media content you should include in your strategy! My friends and all around awesome people, Pat Rigsby and Alicia Streger have been doing an amazing job over the past week. They both work with gym owners to help them grow their business. And as you can imagine, as we're currently in the middle of the corona virus pandemic, many (if not all) gyms have had to temporarily shut their doors. Pat and Alicia and both stepped up as leaders, helping gym owners navigate this challenging time. They have been posting multiple times a day on their Facebook group pages, offering advice, suggestions and encouragement. They are getting on the phone with gym owners, doing webinars answering questions, offering strategies on setting up a virtual gym so that the gym owners can train their clients from home, and much much more. They are helping these gym owners feel connected and are reassuring them in this difficult time. Amazing job to Pat and Alicia. She's also the creator of the 2020 Facebook Group Content which gives you an entire year's worth of Facebook Group content designed to boost retention, generate more leads and keep the conversation buzzing in your Facebook Group. In this episode, Alicia not only gets into the nitty-gritty details of running your Facebook Group -- like the best times to post and the very first thing you need to do when members join your group -- she also walks you through her “5 X 5 X 5” content creation strategy. (This framework gives you 125 pieces of content you can post in your Facebook Group.) Even if you don't have anybody in your group yet -- because everybody starts out with zero members, right? -- this episode will give you the strategies you need to get the ball rolling. Get out a pen and paper so you can take plenty of notes. We dig in deep with tons of tips and strategies to increase engagement in your Facebook Group. More About Alicia: Alicia Streger is a fitness business owner turned business coach who specializes in helping fitness business owners magnify their impact and streamline their businesses. She works closely with people to help them build businesses that give back to the world while creating BOTH financial and time freedom. Alicia has built multiple offline and online businesses from the ground up and now teaches her success strategies and systems to other fitness professionals. Her website is www.FitProEssentials.com. What We Talk About In This Episode: Why creating your own Facebook group is important to your business -- even if you think there are tons of them out there already. The real reason why people join Facebook groups. (Hint: it's not to learn how to solve their problem.) What “engagement” is vs what it isn't (it definitely isn't a place for you to do free coaching). How to get the ball rolling to create engagement in your group, so you can then bring people into your signature program. Specific strategies to initiate engagement and keep it high. The very first thing you need to do when people join your group which sets the tone of the group right from the start. How to craft an engaging welcome post (see the template down below, too). How to use Group Insights to know the best day and time to post your content to create engagement. One neat trick to see when people are active if you don't have a large group. How to use mini-challenges to create engagement in your group -- and get Facebook to show your group as a suggested group to more people. How to use your support system to get things moving in the group (yup, it's okay to ask your family and friends to post something in your group or ask a question). Different ways to encourage people to engage even more often by thanking them privately. Why you shouldn't be in teacher-mode all the time in your Facebook group. We take a deep dive into Alicia's “5 X 5 X 5” content creation strategy to give you the framework to create your own engaging content. How to use your ideal client profile to help you use the “5 X 5 X 5” strategy specific to your ideal client's pain points. Tips on how to not only plan your time but schedule it, too, so you can consistently create and post engaging content in your Facebook group. Things We Mention In This Episode: Alicia's 2020 Facebook Group Content Welcome Post Template [ Note: This is the Welcome Post I use for my own Facebook Group. Welcome, Healthpreneurs! I’m excited to bring an incredible interview to you today with the one and only Alicia Streger. Alicia built and sold a successful fitness business where she learned the nitty-gritty about one-on-one coaching, systems, and processes. Sick of trading dollars for hours, her business evolved to a group training model so she could live a healthier and happier life. Today, Alicia helps fitness pros build their businesses with strategies and tactics that get real results. With her tried and true systems, Alicia helps her clients live a life they love with time and financial freedom. When you hear Alicia, you can tell she’s fired up, passionate, and absolutely LOVING what she does. Alicia and I get into when she realized one-on-one coaching wasn’t going to work long-term. Many of us can relate to the stress and overwhelm (not to mention lack of workouts and diet!) that she experienced when she was training individual clients all day long. She realized that she needed to scale and create processes that would allow the business to flourish without her constant attention. This episode will greatly benefit any Healthpreneurs looking to grow their business while maintaining the love and passion behind their mission. Tune in and enjoy! In this episode, Alicia and I discuss: Scaling from one-on-one training to group training. Focusing on the client experience and working backwards to create processes. Her love for connecting with people and in-person work. Trends in the health and fitness world. Working in the health industry as a “labor of love.” 4:00 – 10:00 - Trading dollars for hours and the energy in group training 10:00 – 19:00 - The importance of systems, processes, and the client experience 19:30 – 23:00 - Connecting with people and maintaining that connection online or off 23:00 – 25:30 - The future of the health industry, perseverance, passion, and clarity 25:30 – 31:00 - The Rapid Five
On this episode, Karen and Kathleen welcome Alicia Streger of Fit Pro Essentials. They discuss how you can utilize Facebook Groups, a free service, to help grow and expand your current wellness business. They discuss the difference between a business Facebook Page versus a Facebook Group, and different techniques you can use in your Facebook Group to set yourself apart from others in your industry. Benefits of Facebook Groups There is lots of competition in the health and wellness industry your Facebook Group is a great way to set yourself apart, be yourself and shine/focus on what makes you and your wellness business different from the others out there. There is no better way to build positive relationships than by having real conversations and letting people get to know you and see who you are. Facebook Groups allows this on a larger scale. You can keep your group as small and elite as you want, or you can push it to become as big as you can dream. That's all up to you! You can control the flow and conversation in your group. Facebook Groups are the perfect way to reach your ideal clients and then turn them into returning customers. Facebook Groups accelerate the relationship building aspect of your business more than any other marketing tool out there. Keep in mind that this is a long-term play, but it's a play worth making. You can use your group to hone in on what your ideal clients are really looking for and what types of services they want. Gives you a stronger voice to get your group members onto your email list and therefore top of mind. Strategies for Facebook Groups -Keep promoting to a minimum, it's a relationship building strategy. You don't want to just make your group be sales pitch over sales pitch. This is your chance to show them who you are, give unique and valuable content and then every now and then invite them to learn more about one of your great programs or services. -Have a strong name for your group. There are so many groups on Facebook, you need to be clear and defined about what you do and who you serve. Don't be cutesy with it, be very direct about who you are and what you do. Groups evolve over time, so you can change the name if you want without it being a big deal. You can continue to refine your overall business and what you want to offer in this industry. -It's not just the numbers, it's the right type of people in there. You want your target audience in there, not just anybody and you want to be able to control the conversation. -Keep people engaged and interacting with each other. You must figure out what is the best type of communication with those in your group. What do they respond to the most, what do they really love engaging with. Do surveys and put up Facebook Polls. Find out exactly what your members want to learn about and then create that content. -Set yourself apart as the expert in your group. You need to maintain that positive level of communication in your group. Remember, you control the flow of the content and conversations. -Come up with challenges and contests to create excitement and a buzz with members. You can offer up one of your services as a prize which generates more genuine conversations about your products and sales. -You group is full of people with real feelings and real problems that want some support. In your group, you can talk about something actionable you've done to help someone else with that same problem and how that added value to their life. Talk specifically to who your target market is and show them the positive changes you can help them with to change their lives. -Post up client testimonial, case studies, and webinars or group trainings. That can be how much or as little as you want, do something big every month or every other month to keep your group engaged. Those big monthly events will let you dive deep into specific types of content and on the back end you can invite them to join you and your services, creating a genuine sales conversation. - Add somewhat controversial posts and get people charged up! It can be as whatever topic you want but it'll get people talking and energized. Have a stance, take a position and talk about it. That's another thing that'll separate you from the rest of the other groups out there. -Use Facebook Live to help your group members not only get to know and love your authentic personality, but with contests, special sales, or even just a weekly hello. That is a powerful and free marketing tool at your service. Marketing / Sales In your group, you're never selling think of it instead as offering people to take that next step in their life with you. If it's a good fit for you both then you aren't going to push them, sell them or force them to do anything that they don't want to do. But if you can help change their lives in a positive manner, you owe it to them to at least offer them the opportunity to make such a positive change. Not everyone is always going to take you up on that offer, but some people will be ready and want to take you up on it and you can build your client base from there. You can make the sales conversations in your group fun. It doesn't have to feel like your group is vising a used car lot, have raffles, use Facebook Live, talk about your services in conjunction with a beneficial webinar. If you're adding valuable content to your group on a consistent basis you can easily put up “sales” posts without it feeling like you're just there pushing people into buying. Remember, if you don't ever offer them an opportunity to work with you, then you're both missing out. Tips / Tricks -Building a big and active Facebook Group is going to take some effort. It's going to take time, it's not going to happen overnight. Commit extra time right out of the gate to really build it properly. -Always welcome your new members. Tag them in a welcome post, ask them a question, get them involved right from the start and feeling like they belong right away. -If someone is commenting a lot in the group and engaging, send them a PM thanking them for contributing to the overall group. -Add rules for the group and enforce them. Don't be afraid to delete and block people if they aren't following the rules you've set forth. -Monitor who you let into the group, you can be particular about who you let in. 5 Steps to Easily Create Replicatable Systems for Your Business If you are trading dollars for hours, struggling without systems in your business, and constantly finding yourself sucked into repeated tasks that drain your energy, this is for you! If you feel that you have no freedom, you MUST read this article. Even better, read it and then go listen to my podcast where I interview Alicia Streger, founder of Fitpro Essentials, because we break down 5 steps on how to create system for your business to get you more personal time and more money flowing through your business. When Alicia Streger stopped by my podcast, she shared how she ruthlessly cuts anything from her life that isn’t advancing her business. It’s all about growing, right? Well you can’t grow if your day is filled with tasks that slow you down! Here are three great ways she manages her business: 1. Five Step System Automation Alicia farms outs the parts of her business that don’t require her full attention. These include menial tasks like administration and billing. How does she determine what’s important? These five steps help. Her first step is to "Identify Your Client Experience" Like any good traveller, Alicia sees her goal and works backwards. She creates the experience that she wants her client or prospect to have. Her next step is to “Write Everything Down”. Alicia makes a checklist of things she'll need to build out that experience. Alicia writes this stuff down so she can visualize it clearly. Step three is “Eliminate Unnecessary Things”. She viciously slices away anything that doesn’t support her ideal client experience. That mundane busy work can eat up your time and bandwidth fast! Step Four is to “Delegate and Automate" Can someone else do it? Alicia looks for ways to make it happen. She’s the CEO, she doesn’t need to deal with every little detail. Her job is big picture stuff and strategy! That’s your job, too. Don’t put obstacles in the way and clutter your CEO experience. And finally, step five is “Tweak and Refine”. This is a system. And part of the system is re-assessing if the system itself is working. Your process is going to require tweaks and adjustments constantly. It’s your absolute duty to do this. And do it again. And do it again... 2. Five Percent Genius We can only fit so much stuff in our minds. And there are just 24 hours in the day. So why do so many of us waste time with menial tasks that can be farmed out? Alicia points to the five percent of work that you MUST focus on because, as CEO, only you can do it. Don’t waste time doing things that lie beyond what you’re trying to accomplish. Know how to prioritize. 3. Four Checklists I thought my to-do list was thorough! Alicia’s got four! First, there’s the “Today” list. This list should have three things you need to get done today. These are things that move your business forward. The next list is the “This Week” list. Don’t put too many things on this list! You’re not allowed to have more than five or seven things to do on this list. The third list is the “Month” list. Here you could maybe include a project that has several steps. And the fourth list is the “Backburner” list. This is for stuff that is important but not necessarily urgent. This kind of organization pays off so well over time. Your time is valuable! Manage it wisely! The freedom lifestyle is waiting for you!
